1. നെബൂഖദ് നേസര്രാജാവു സര്വ്വഭൂമിയിലും പാര്ക്കുംന്ന സകലവംശങ്ങള്ക്കും ജാതികള്ക്കും ഭാഷക്കാര്ക്കും എഴുതുന്നതുനിങ്ങള്ക്കു ശുഭം വര്ദ്ധിച്ചുവരട്ടെ.

1. Nebuchadnezzar the king, unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.

2. അത്യുന്നതനായ ദൈവം എങ്കല് പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ച അടയാളങ്ങളും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കുന്നതു നന്നെന്നു എനിക്കു തോന്നിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
യോഹന്നാൻ 4:48

2. I thought it good to shew the signs and wonders that the high Elohim hath wrought toward me.

3. അവന്റെ അടയാളങ്ങള് എത്ര വലിയവ! അവന്റെ അത്ഭുതങ്ങള് എത്ര ശ്രേഷ്ഠമായവ! അവന്റെ രാജത്വം എന്നേക്കുമുള്ള രാജത്വവും അവന്റെ ആധിപത്യം തലമുറതലമുറയായുള്ളതും ആകുന്നു.

3. How great are his signs! and how mighty are his wonders! his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation.

4. നെബൂഖദ് നേസര് എന്ന ഞാന് എന്റെ അരമനയില് സ്വൈരമായും എന്റെ രാജധാനിയില് സുഖമായും വസിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോള് ഒരു സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടു,

4. I Nebuchadnezzar was at rest in mine house, and flourishing in my palace:

5. അതുനിമിത്തം ഭയപ്പെട്ടു, കിടക്കയില്വെച്ചു എനിക്കുണ്ടായ നിരൂപണങ്ങളാലും ദര്ശനങ്ങളാലും വ്യാകുലപ്പെട്ടു.

5. I saw a dream which made me afraid, and the thoughts upon my bed and the visions of my head troubled me.

6. സ്വപ്നത്തിന്റെ അര്ത്ഥം അറിയിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ബാബേലിലെ സകലവിദ്വാന്മാരെയും എന്റെ മുമ്പില് കൊണ്ടുവരുവാന് ഞാന് കല്പിച്ചു.

6. Therefore made I a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known unto me the interpretation of the dream.

7. അങ്ങനെ മന്ത്രവാദികളും ആഭിചാരകന്മാരും കല്ദയരും ശകുനവാദികളും അകത്തു വന്നു; ഞാന് സ്വപ്നം അവരോടു വിവരിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു; അവര് അര്ത്ഥം അറിയിച്ചില്ല താനും.

7. Then came in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers: and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known unto me the interpretation thereof.

8. ഒടുവില് എന്റെ ദേവന്റെ നാമദേധപ്രകാരം ബേല്ത്ത് ശസ്സര് എന്നു പേരുള്ളവനും വിശുദ്ധദേവന്മാരുടെ ആത്മാവുള്ളവനുമായ ദാനീയേല് എന്റെ മുമ്പില് വന്നു; അവനോടു ഞാന് സ്വപ്നം വിവരിച്ചതെന്തെന്നാല്

8. But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my elohim, and in whom is the spirit of the holy elohim: and before him I told the dream, saying,

9. മന്ത്രവാദിശ്രേഷ്ഠനായ ബേല്ത്ത് ശസ്സരേ, വിശുദ്ധദേവന്മാരുടെ ആത്മാവു നിന്നില് ഉണ്ടെന്നും ഒരു രഹസ്യവും നിനക്കു വിഷമമല്ലെന്നും ഞാന് അറിയുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് കണ്ട സ്വപ്നത്തിന്റെ താല്പര്യവും അര്ത്ഥവും പറക.

9. O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy elohim is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof.

10. കിടക്കയില്വെച്ചു എനിക്കു ഉണ്ടായ ദര്ശനമാവിതുഭൂമിയുടെ നടുവില് ഞാന് ഒരു വൃക്ഷം കണ്ടു; അതു ഏറ്റവും ഉയരമുള്ളതായിരുന്നു.

10. Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was great.

11. ആ വൃക്ഷം വളര്ന്നു ബലപ്പെട്ടു; അതു ആകാശത്തോളം ഉയരമുള്ളതും സര്വ്വഭൂമിയുടെയും അറ്റത്തോളം കാണാകുന്നതും ആയിരുന്നു.

11. The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth:

12. അതിന്റെ ഇല ഭംഗിയുള്ളതും ഫലം അനവധിയും ആയിരുന്നു; എല്ലാവര്ക്കും അതില് ആഹാരം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങള് അതിന്റെ കീഴെ തണലിളെച്ചുവന്നു; ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികള് അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളില് വസിച്ചു; സകലജഡവും അതുകൊണ്ടു ഉപജീവനം കഴിച്ചുപോന്നു.

12. The leaves thereof were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all: the beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heaven dwelt in the boughs thereof, and all flesh was fed of it.

13. കിടക്കയില്വെച്ചു എനിക്കു ഉണ്ടായ ദര്ശനത്തില് ഒരു ദൂതന് , ഒരു പരിശുദ്ധന് തന്നേ, സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില്നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവരുന്നതു ഞാന് കണ്ടു.

13. I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and an holy one came down from heaven;

14. അവന് ഉച്ചത്തില് വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞതുവൃക്ഷം വെട്ടിയിട്ടു, അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പു മുറിച്ചു, ഇല കുടഞ്ഞു, കായി ചിതറിച്ചുകളവിന് ; അതിന്റെ കീഴില്നിന്നു മൃഗങ്ങളും കൊമ്പുകളില്നിന്നു പക്ഷികളും പൊയ്ക്കൊള്ളട്ടെ.

14. He cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches, shake off his leaves, and scatter his fruit: let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from his branches:

15. അതിന്റെ തായ് വേരോ വയലിലെ ഇളമ്പുല്ലില് ഇരിമ്പും താമ്രവുംകൊണ്ടുള്ള ബന്ധനത്തോടെ ഭൂമിയില് വെച്ചേക്കുവിന് ; അവന് ആകാശത്തിലെ മഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടു നനയട്ടെ; അവന്നു മൃഗങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ നിലത്തെ പുല്ലു ഉപജീവനം ആയിരിക്കട്ടെ.

15. Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth:

16. അവന്റെ മാനുഷസ്വഭാവം മാറി മൃഗസ്വഭാവമായിത്തീരട്ടെ; അങ്ങനെ അവന്നു ഏഴു കാലം കഴിയട്ടെ.

16. Let his heart be changed from mans, and let a beasts heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.

17. അത്യുന്നതനായവന് മനുഷ്യരുടെ രാജത്വത്തിന്മേല് വാഴുകയും അതിനെ തനിക്കു ബോധിച്ചവന്നു കൊടുക്കയും മനുഷ്യരില് അധമനായവനെ അതിന്മേല് വാഴിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു ജീവനോടിരിക്കുന്നവര് അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു ഈ വിധി ദൂതന്മാരുടെ നിര്ണ്ണയവും കാര്യം വിശുദ്ധന്മാരുടെ കല്പനയും ആകുന്നു.

17. This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.

18. നെബൂഖദ്നേസര്രാജാവായ ഞാന് ഈ സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടു; എന്നാല് ബേല്ത്ത് ശസ്സരേ, എന്റെ രാജ്യത്തിലെ വിദ്വാന്മാര്ക്കും ആര്ക്കും അതിന്റെ അര്ത്ഥം അറിയിപ്പാന് കഴിയായ്കകൊണ്ടു നീ അതിന്റെ അര്ത്ഥം അറിയിച്ചുതരേണം; വിശുദ്ധദേവന്മാരുടെ ആത്മാവു നിന്നില് ഉള്ളതുകൊണ്ടു നീ അതിന്നു പ്രാപ്തനാകുന്നു.

18. This dream I king Nebuchadnezzar have seen. Now thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation: but thou art able; for the spirit of the holy elohim is in thee.

19. അപ്പോള് ബേല്ത്ത് ശസ്സര് എന്നും പേരുള്ള ദാനീയേല് കുറെ നേരത്തേക്കു സ്തംഭിച്ചിരുന്നു; അവര് വിചാരങ്ങളാല് പരവശനായി. രാജാവു അവനോടുബേല്ത്ത് ശസ്സരേ, സ്വപ്നവും അതിന്റെ അര്ത്ഥവുംനിമിത്തം നീ പരവശനാകരുതേ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു. ബേല്ത്ത ശസ്സര് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതുയജമാനനേ, സ്വപ്നം തിരുമനസ്സിലെ ശത്രുക്കള്ക്കും അതിന്റെ അര്ത്ഥം തിരുമനസ്സിലെ വൈരികള്ക്കും ഭവിക്കട്ടെ.

19. Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonied for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king spake, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the interpretation thereof, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and said, My master, the dream be to them that hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine enemies.

20. വളര്ന്നു ബലപ്പെട്ടതും ആകാശത്തോളം ഉയരമുള്ളതും ഭൂമിയില് എല്ലാടത്തുനിന്നും കാണാകുന്നതും

20. The tree that thou sawest, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached unto the heaven, and the sight thereof to all the earth;

21. ഭംഗിയുള്ള ഇലയും അനവധി ഫലവും എല്ലാവര്ക്കും ആഹാരവും ഉള്ളതും കീഴെ കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങള് വസിച്ചതും കൊമ്പുകളില് ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികള്ക്കു പാര്പ്പിടം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതുമായി കണ്ട വൃക്ഷം,

21. Whose leaves were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all; under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and upon whose branches the fowls of the heaven had their habitation:

22. രാജാവേ, വര്ദ്ധിച്ചു ബലവാനായി തീര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്ന തിരുമേനി തന്നേ; തിരുമനസ്സിലെ മഹത്വം വര്ദ്ധിച്ചു ആകാശംവരെയും ആധിപത്യം ഭൂമിയുടെ അറുതിവരെയും എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

22. It is thou, O king, that art grown and become strong: for thy greatness is grown, and reacheth unto heaven, and thy dominion to the end of the earth.

23. ഒരു ദൂതന് , ഒരു പരിശുദ്ധന് തന്നേ സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില്നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവന്നുവൃക്ഷത്തെ വെട്ടിയിട്ടു നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളവിന് ; എങ്കിലും അതിന്റെ തായ് വേര് വയലിലെ ഇളമ്പുല്ലില് ഇരിമ്പും താമ്രവും കൊണ്ടുള്ള ബന്ധനത്തോടുകൂടെ ഭൂമിയില് വെച്ചേക്കുവിന് ; അവന് ആകാശത്തിലെ മഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടു നനയട്ടെ; അവന്നു ഏഴുകാലം കഴിയുന്നതുവരെ അവന്റെ ഉപജീവനം കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങളോടു കൂടെ ആയിരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നിങ്ങനെ പറയുന്നതു രാജാവു കണ്ടുവല്ലോ.

23. And whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming down from heaven, and saying, Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him;

24. രാജാവേ, അതിന്റെ അര്ത്ഥം ഇതാകുന്നു; എന്റെ യജമാനനായ രാജാവിന്റെമേല് വരുന്ന അത്യുന്നതനായവന്റെ വിധി ഇതു തന്നേ;

24. This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the most High, which is come upon my master the king:

25. തിരുമേനിയെ മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളയും; തിരുമനസ്സിലെ വാസം കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങളോടുകൂടെയാകും. തിരുമേനിയെ കാളയെപ്പോലെ പുല്ലു തീറ്റും; തിരുമേനി ആകാശത്തിലെ മഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടു നനയും; മനുഷ്യരുടെ രാജത്വത്തിന്മേല് അത്യുന്നതനായവന് വാഴുകയും അതിനെ തനിക്കു ബോധിച്ചവന്നു കൊടുക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നുവെന്നു തിരുമനസ്സുകൊണ്ടു അറിയുന്നതുവരെ ഏഴു കാലം കഴിയും.

25. That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.

26. വൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെ തായ് വേര് വെച്ചേക്കുവാന് അവര് കല്പിച്ചതോവാഴുന്നതു സ്വര്ഗ്ഗമാകുന്നു എന്നു തിരുമനസ്സുകൊണ്ടു ഗ്രഹിച്ചശേഷം രാജത്വം തിരുമേനിക്കു സ്ഥിരമാകും എന്നത്രേ.

26. And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots; thy kingdom shall be sure unto thee, after that thou shalt have known that the heavens do rule.

27. ആകയാല് രാജാവേ, എന്റെ ആലോചന തിരുമനസ്സിലേക്കു പ്രസാദമായിരിക്കട്ടെ; നീതിയാല് പാപങ്ങളെയും ദരിദ്രന്മാര്ക്കും കൃപകാട്ടുന്നതിനാല് അകൃത്യങ്ങളെയും പരിഹരിച്ചുകൊള്ക; അതിനാല് പക്ഷേ തിരുമനസ്സിലെ സുഖകാലം ദീര്ഘമായി നിലക്കും.

27. Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity.

28. ഇതെല്ലാം നെബൂഖദ് നേസര്രാജാവിന്നു വന്നു ഭവിച്ചു.

28. All this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar.

29. പന്ത്രണ്ടു മാസം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന് ബാബേലിലെ രാജമന്ദിരത്തിന്മേല് ഉലാവിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

29. At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon.

30. ഇതു ഞാന് എന്റെ ധനമാഹാത്മ്യത്താല് എന്റെ പ്രതാപമഹത്വത്തിന്നായിട്ടു രാജധാനിയായി പണിത മഹതിയാം ബാബേല് അല്ലയോ എന്നു രാജാവു പറഞ്ഞുതുടങ്ങി.

30. The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?

31. ഈ വാക്കു രാജാവിന്റെ വായില് ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള് തന്നേ, സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില്നിന്നു ഒരു ശബ്ദം ഉണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്നെബൂഖദ് നേസര്രാജാവേ, നിന്നോടു ഇതു കല്പിക്കുന്നുരാജത്വം നിന്നെ വിട്ടു നീങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

31. While the word was in the kings mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee.

32. നിന്നെ മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളയും; നിന്റെ പാര്പ്പു കാട്ടിലെ മൃഗങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ആയിരിക്കും; നിന്നെ കാളയെപ്പോലെ പുല്ലു തീറ്റും; അത്യുന്നതനായവന് മനുഷ്യരുടെ രാജത്വത്തിന്മേല് വാഴുകയും അതിനെ തനിക്കു ബോധിച്ചവന്നു കൊടുക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു നീ അറിയുന്നതുവരെ നിനക്കു ഏഴു കാലം കഴിയും.

32. And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.

33. ഉടന് തന്നേ ആ വാക്കു നെബൂഖദ് നേസരിന്നു നിവൃത്തിയായി; അവനെ മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഇടയില് നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു; അവന്റെ രോമം കഴുകന്റെ തൂവല്പോലെയും അവന്റെ നഖം പക്ഷിയുടെ നഖംപോലെയും വളരുന്നതുവരെ, അവന് കാള എന്നപോലെ പുല്ലു തിന്നുകയും അവന്റെ ദേഹം ആകാശത്തിലെ മഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടു നനയുകയും ചെയ്തു.

33. The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles feathers, and his nails like birds claws.

34. ആ കാലം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു നെബൂഖദ്നേസര് എന്ന ഞാന് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തേക്കു കണ്ണുയര്ത്തി എന്റെ ബുദ്ധിയും എനിക്കു മടങ്ങിവന്നു; ഞാന് അത്യുന്നതനായവനെ വാഴ്ത്തി, എന്നേക്കും ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവനെ സ്മരിച്ചു ബഹുമാനിക്കയും ചെയ്തു; അവന്റെ ആധിപത്യം എന്നേക്കുമുള്ള ആധിപത്യവും അവന്റെ രാജത്വം തലമുറതലമുറയായുള്ളതും അല്ലോ.

34. And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:

35. അവന് സര്വ്വഭൂവാസികളെയും നാസ്തിയായി എണ്ണുന്നു; സ്വര്ഗ്ഗീയ സൈന്യത്തോടും ഭൂവാസികളോടും ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ കൈ തടുപ്പാനോ നീ എന്തു ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു അവനാടു ചോദിപ്പാനോ ആര്ക്കും കഴികയില്ല.

35. And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?

36. ആ നേരത്തു തന്നേ എന്റെ ബുദ്ധി മടങ്ങിവന്നു; എന്റെ രാജത്വത്തിന്റെ മഹത്വത്തിന്നായി എന്റെ മഹിമയും മുഖപ്രകാശവും മടങ്ങിവന്നു; എന്റെ മന്ത്രിമാരും മഹത്തുക്കളും എന്നെ അന്വേഷിച്ചു; ഞാന് എന്റെ രാജത്വത്തില് യഥാസ്ഥാനപ്പെട്ടു, ശ്രേഷ്ഠമഹത്വം എനിക്കു അധികമായി സിദ്ധിച്ചു.

36. At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my masters sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.

37. ഇപ്പോള് നെബൂഖദ്നേസര് എന്ന ഞാന് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ രാജാവിനെ സ്തുതിച്ചു പകഴ്ത്തി ബഹുമാനിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികള് ഒക്കെയും സത്യവും അവന്റെ വഴികള് ന്യായവും ആകുന്നു; നിഗളിച്ചുനടക്കുന്നവരെ താഴ്ത്തുവാനും അവന് പ്രാപ്തന് തന്നേ.

37. Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.
