1. യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുഅഹരോന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരായ പുരോഹിതന്മാരോടു പറയേണ്ടതെന്തെന്നാല്പുരോഹിതന് തന്റെ ജനത്തില് ഒരുവന്റെ ശവത്താല് തന്നെത്താന് മലിനമാക്കരുതു.

1. GOD spoke to Moses: 'Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron. Tell them, A priest must not ritually contaminate himself by touching the dead,

2. എന്നാല് തന്റെ അമ്മ, അപ്പന് , മകന് , മകള്, സഹോദരന് ,

2. except for close relatives: mother, father, son, daughter, brother,

3. തനിക്കടുത്തവളും ഭര്ത്താവില്ലാത്ത കന്യകയുമായ സഹോദരി എന്നിങ്ങിനെയുള്ള ഉററ ചാര്ച്ചക്കാരാല് അവന്നു മലിനനാകാം.

3. or an unmarried sister who is dependent on him since she has no husband; for these he may make himself ritually unclean,

4. അവന് തന്റെ ജനത്തില് പ്രമാണിയായിരിക്കയാല് തന്നെത്താന് മലിനമാക്കി അശുദ്ധനാക്കരുതു.

4. but he must not contaminate himself with the dead who are only related to him by marriage and thus profane himself.

5. അവര് തലമുടി വടിക്കയും താടിയുടെ അറ്റം കത്രിക്കയും ശരീരത്തില് മുറിവുണ്ടാക്കുകയും അരുതു;

5. 'Priests must not shave their heads or trim their beards or gash their bodies.

6. തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നാമത്തെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കാതെ തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്നു വിശുദ്ധന്മാരായിരിക്കേണം; അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഭോജനമായ യഹോവയുടെ ദഹനയാഗങ്ങള് അര്പ്പിക്കുന്നു; ആകയാല് അവര് വിശുദ്ധന്മാരായിരിക്കേണം.

6. They must be holy to their God and must not profane the name of their God. Because their job is to present the gifts of GOD, the food of their God, they are to be holy.

7. വേശ്യയെയോ ദുര്ന്നടപ്പുകാരത്തിയെയോ അവര് വിവാഹം കഴിക്കരുതു; ഭര്ത്താവു ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞവളെയും വിവാഹം കഴിക്കരുതു; അവന് തന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്നു വിശുദ്ധന് ആകുന്നു.

7. 'Because a priest is holy to his God he must not marry a woman who has been a harlot or a cult prostitute or a divorced woman.

8. അതുകൊണ്ടു നീ അവനെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കേണം; അവന് നിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്നു ഭോജനം അര്പ്പിക്കുന്നവനാകയാല് നീ അവനെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കേണം; അവന് നിനക്കു വിശുദ്ധനായിരിക്കേണം; നിങ്ങളെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്ന യഹോവയായ ഞാന് വിശുദ്ധന് ആകുന്നു.

8. Make sure he is holy because he serves the food of your God. Treat him as holy because I, GOD, who make you holy, am holy.

9. പുരോഹിതന്റെ മകള് ദുര്ന്നടപ്പു ചെയ്തു തന്നെത്താന് അശുദ്ധയാക്കിയാല് അവള് തന്റെ അപ്പനെ അശുദ്ധനാക്കുന്നു; അവളെ തീയില് ഇട്ടു ചുട്ടുകളയേണം.

9. 'If a priest's daughter defiles herself in prostitution, she disgraces her father. She must be burned at the stake.

10. അഭിഷേകതൈലം തലയില് ഒഴിക്കപ്പെട്ടവനും വസ്ത്രം ധരിപ്പാന് പ്രതിഷ്ഠിക്കപ്പെട്ടവനുമായി തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരില് മഹാ പുരോഹിതനായവന് തന്റെ തലമുടി പിച്ചിപ്പറിക്കയും വസ്ത്രം കീറുകയും അരുതു.

10. 'The high priest, the one among his brothers who has received the anointing oil poured on his head and been ordained to wear the priestly vestments, must not let his hair go wild and tangled nor wear ragged and torn clothes.

11. അവന് യാതൊരു ശവത്തോടും അടുക്കുകയും തന്റെ അപ്പനാലോ അമ്മയാലോ അശുദ്ധനാകയും അരുതു.

11. He must not enter a room where there is a dead body. He must not ritually contaminate himself, even for his father or mother;

12. വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരം വിട്ടു അവന് പുറത്തിറങ്ങുകയും തന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരം അശുദ്ധമാക്കുകയും അരുതു; അവന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അഭിഷേകതൈലമായ സംസ്കാരം അവന്റെ മേല് ഇരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന് യഹോവ ആകുന്നു.

12. and he must neither abandon nor desecrate the Sanctuary of his God because of the dedication of the anointing oil which is upon him. I am GOD.

13. കന്യകയായ സ്ത്രീയെ മാത്രമേ അവന് വിവാഹം കഴിക്കാവു.

13. 'He is to marry a young virgin,

14. വിധവ, ഉപേക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടവള്, ദുര്ന്നടപ്പുകാരത്തി, വേശ്യ ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ളവരെ അവന് വിവാഹം കഴിക്കരുതു; സ്വജനത്തിലുള്ള കന്യകയെ മാത്രമേ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കാവു.

14. not a widow, not a divorcee, not a cult prostitute--he is only to marry a virgin from his own people.

15. അവന് തന്റെ സന്തതിയെ തന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഇടയില് അശുദ്ധമാക്കരുതു; ഞാന് അവനെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്ന യഹോവ ആകുന്നു.

15. He must not defile his descendants among his people because I am GOD who makes him holy.'

16. യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുനീ അഹരോനോടു പറയേണ്ടതു എന്തെന്നാല്

16. GOD spoke to Moses:

17. നിന്റെ സന്തതിയില് അംഗഹീനനായവന് നിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഭോജനം അര്പ്പിപ്പാന് ഒരിക്കലും അടുത്തുവരരുതു.

17. 'Tell Aaron, None of your descendants, in any generation to come, who has a defect of any kind may present as an offering the food of his God.

18. അംഗഹീനനായ യാതൊരുത്തനും അടുത്തുവരരുതു; കുരുടന് , മുടന്തന് ,

18. That means anyone who is blind or lame, disfigured or deformed,

19. പതിമക്കൂന് , അധികാംഗന് , കാലൊടിഞ്ഞവന് , കയ്യൊടിഞ്ഞവന് ,

19. crippled in foot or hand,

20. കൂനന് , മുണ്ടന് , പൂക്കണ്ണന് , ചൊറിയന് , പൊരിച്ചുണങ്ങന് , ഷണ്ഡന് എന്നിങ്ങനെയുള്ളവരും അരുതു.

20. hunchbacked or dwarfed, who has anything wrong with his eyes, who has running sores or damaged testicles.

21. പുരോഹിതനായ അഹരോന്റെ സന്തതിയില് അംഗഹീനനായ ഒരുത്തനും യഹോവയുടെ ദഹനയാഗങ്ങള് അര്പ്പിപ്പാന് അടുത്തു വരരുതു; അവന് അംഗഹീനന് ; അവന് തന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഭോജനം അര്പ്പിപ്പാന് അടുത്തുവരരുതു.

21. No descendant of Aaron the priest who has any defect is to offer gifts to GOD; he has a defect and so must not offer the food of his God.

22. തന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഭോജനമായ അതിപിരിശുദ്ധമായവയും വിശുദ്ധമായവയും അവന്നു ഭക്ഷിക്കാം.

22. He may eat the food of his God, both the most holy and the holy,

23. എങ്കിലും തിരശ്ശീലയുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെല്ലുകയും യാഗപീഠത്തിങ്കല് അടുത്തുവരികയും അരുതു; അവന് അംഗഹീനനല്ലോ; അവന് എന്റെ വിശുദ്ധസാധനങ്ങളെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കരുതു; ഞാന് അവരെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്ന യഹോവ ആകുന്നു.

23. but because of his defect he must not go near the curtain or approach the Altar. It would desecrate my Sanctuary. I am GOD who makes them holy.'

24. മോശെ ഇതു അഹരോനോടും പുത്രന്മാരോടും എല്ലായിസ്രായേല്മക്കളോടും പറഞ്ഞു.

24. Moses delivered this message to Aaron, his sons, and to all the People of Israel.
