1. എളിയവരെ പീഡിപിക്കയും ദരിദ്രന്മാരെ തകര്ക്കുംകയും തങ്ങളുടെ ഭര്ത്താക്കന്മാരോടുകൊണ്ടുവരുവിന് ; ഞങ്ങള് കുടിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ശമര്യ്യാപര്വ്വതത്തിലെ ബാശാന്യപശുക്കളേ, ഈ വചനം കേള്പ്പിന് .

1. O hear this word, ye fat kine, that be upon the hill of Samaria, yea that do poor men wrong, and oppress the needy, yea that say to your lords: bring hither, let us drink.

2. ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ കൊളുത്തുകൊണ്ടും നിങ്ങളുടെ സന്തതിയെ ചൂണ്ടല്കൊണ്ടും പിടിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്ന കാലം നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വരും എന്നു യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു തന്റെ വിശുദ്ധിയെച്ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

2. Therefore the LORD hath sworn by his holiness: The days shall come upon you, that ye shall be lift up upon spears, and your posterity carried away in fisher's paniers.

3. അപ്പോള് നിങ്ങള് ഔരോരുത്തി നേരെ മുമ്പോട്ടു മതില് പിളര്പ്പുകളില്കൂടി പുറത്തുചെല്ലുകയും രിമ്മോനെ എറിഞ്ഞുകളകയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

3. Ye shall get you out at the gaps one after another, and in Armon shall ye be cast away, sayeth the LORD.

4. ബേഥേലില്ചെന്നു അതിക്രമം ചെയ്വിന് ; ഗില്ഗാലില് ചെന്നു അതിക്രമം വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിപ്പിന് ; രാവിലെതോറും നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹനനയാഗങ്ങളെയും മൂന്നാംനാള് തോറും നിങ്ങളുടെ ദശാംശങ്ങളെയും കൊണ്ടു ചെല്ലുവിന് .

4. Ye came to Bethell for to work ungraciousness, and have increased your sins at Gilgal: ye brought your sacrifices in the morning, and your tithes unto the third day.

5. പുളിച്ചമാവുകൊണ്ടുള്ള സ്തോത്ര യാഗം അര്പ്പിപ്പിന് ; സ്വമേധാര്പ്പിതങ്ങളെ ഘോഷിച്ചു പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കുവിന് ; അങ്ങനെ അല്ലോ, യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളേ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഇഷ്ടമായിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

5. Ye made a thank offering of leaven, ye promised free will offerings, and proclaimed them. Such lust had ye, O ye children of Israel, sayeth the Lord GOD.(LORDE God)

7. കൊയ്ത്തിന്നു ഇനി മൂന്നു മാസമുള്ളപ്പോള് ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു മഴ മുടക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു; ഞാന് ഒരു പട്ടണത്തില് മഴ പെയ്യിക്കയും മറ്റെ പട്ടണത്തില് മഴ പെയ്യിക്കാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്തു; ഒരു കണ്ടത്തില് മഴ പെയ്തു; മഴ പെയ്യാത്ത മറ്റെ കണ്ടം വരണ്ടുപോയി.

7. When there were but three months unto the harvest, I withheld the rain from you: yea I rained upon one city, and not upon another, one piece of ground was moistured with rain, and the ground that I rained not upon, was dry.

8. രണ്ടുമൂന്നു പട്ടണം വെള്ളം കുടിപ്പാന് ഒരു പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു ഉഴന്നുചെന്നു, ദാഹം തീര്ന്നില്ലതാനും; എന്നിട്ടും നിങ്ങള് എങ്കലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

8. Wherefore two, yea three cities came unto one, to drink water: but they were not satisfied, yet will ye not turn unto me, sayeth the LORD.

9. ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ വെണ്കതിര്കൊണ്ടും വിഷമഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടും ശിക്ഷിച്ചു; നിങ്ങളുടെ തോട്ടങ്ങളെയും മുന്തിരിപ്പറമ്പുകളെയും അത്തിവൃക്ഷങ്ങളെയും ഒലിവുമരങ്ങളെയും പലപ്പോഴും തുള്ളന് തിന്നുകളഞ്ഞു; എന്നിട്ടും നിങ്ങള് എങ്കലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

9. I have smitten you with drought and blasting: and look how many orchards, vineyards, fig trees, and olive trees ye had: the caterpillar hath eaten them up. But yet will ye not turn unto me, sayeth the LORD.

10. മിസ്രയീമില് എന്നപ്പോലെ ഞാന് മഹാമാരി നിങ്ങളടെ ഇടയില് അയച്ചു നിങ്ങളുടെ യൌവനക്കാരെ വാള്കൊണ്ടു കൊന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ കുതിരകളെ പിടിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോയി; നിങ്ങളുടെ പാളയങ്ങളിലെ നാറ്റം ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ മൂക്കില് കയറുമാറാക്കി; എന്നിട്ടും നിങ്ങള് എങ്കലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

10. Pestilence have I sent among you, as I did in Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and caused your horses be taken captive: I made the stinking savour of your tents to come up into your nostrils: yet will ye not turn unto me, sayeth the LORD.

11. ദൈവം സൊദോമിനെയും ഗൊമോരയെയും ഉന്മൂലനാശം ചെയ്തതുപോലെ ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് ഒരു ഉന്മൂലനാശം വരുത്തി, നിങ്ങള് കത്തുന്ന തീയില്നിന്നു വലിച്ചെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട ഒരു കൊള്ളിപോലെ ആയിരുന്നു; എന്നിട്ടും നിങ്ങള് എങ്കലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

11. Some of you have I overthrown as I overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah: so that ye were as a brand plucked(plucte) out of the fire. yet will ye not turn unto me, sayeth the LORD.

12. അതുകൊണ്ടു യിസ്രായേലേ, ഞാന് ഇങ്ങനെ നിന്നോടു ചെയ്യും; യിസ്രായേലേ, ഞാന് ഇതു നിന്നോടു ചെയ്വാന് പോകുന്നതു കൊണ്ടു നിന്റെ ദൈവത്തെ എതിരേല്പാന് ഒരുങ്ങിക്കൊള്ക.

12. Therefore thus will I handle thee again, O Israel, yea even thus will I handle thee. Make thee ready then to meet thy God, O Israel.

13. പര്വ്വതങ്ങളെ നിര്മ്മക്കയും കാറ്റിനെ സൃഷ്ടിക്കയും മനുഷ്യനോടു അവന്റെ നിരൂപണം ഇന്നതെന്നു അറിയിക്കയും പ്രഭാതത്തെ അന്ധകാരമാക്കുകയും ഭൂമിയുടെ ഉന്നതികളിന്മേല് നടകൊള്ളുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരുത്തനുണ്ടു; സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ എന്നാകുന്നു അവന്റെ നാമം.

13. For lo, he maketh the mountains, he ordaineth(ordeneth) the wind, he sheweth man what he is about to do: he maketh the morning and the darkness, he treadeth upon the high places of the earth: the LORD God of hosts is his name.
