1. ഏഴാം മാസം ഇരുപത്തൊന്നാം തിയ്യതി ഹഗ്ഗായിപ്രവാചകന് മുഖാന്തരം യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. In the seventh month, on the twenty-first of the month, the Word of Jehovah came by Haggai the prophet, saying,

2. നീ യെഹൂദാദേശാധിപതിയായി ശെയല്തീയേലിന്റെ മകനായ സെരുബ്ബാബേലിനോടും മഹാ പുരോഹിതനായി യെഹോസാദാക്കിന്റെ മകനായ യോശുവയോടും ജനത്തില് ശേഷിപ്പുള്ളവരോടും പറയേണ്ടതെന്തെന്നാല്

2. Speak now to Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua, the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people, saying,

3. നിങ്ങളില് ഈ ആലയത്തെ അതിന്റെ ആദ്യമഹത്വത്തോടെ കണ്ടവരായി ആര് ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു? ഇപ്പോള് കണ്ടിട്ടു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എന്തു തോന്നുന്നു? ഏതുമില്ലാത്തതുപോലെ തോന്നുന്നില്ലയോ?

3. Who is left among you who saw this house in her former glory? And how do you see it now? When compared to it, is it not as nothing in your eyes?

4. Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, says Jehovah. And be strong, O Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest. And be strong, all you people of the land, and work, says Jehovah. For I am with you, says Jehovah of Hosts.

5. നിങ്ങള് മിസ്രയീമില് നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടപ്പോള് ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന നിയമത്തിന്റെ വചനം ഔര്പ്പിന് ; എന്റെ ആത്മാവു നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് വസിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങള് ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ.

5. According to the Word that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, so My Spirit stands among you; do not fear.

6. സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഇനി കുറഞ്ഞോന്നു കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഞാന് ആകാശത്തെയും ഭൂമിയെയും കടലിനെയും കരയെയും ഇളക്കും.

6. For thus says Jehovah of Hosts: Yet once more (it is a little while), and I will shake the heavens and the earth and the sea and the dry land.

7. ഞാന് സകല ജാതികളെയും ഇളക്കും; സകല ജാതികളുടെയും മനോഹരവസ്തു വരികയും ചെയ്യും; ഞാന് ഈ ആലയത്തെ മഹത്വപൂര്ണ്ണമാക്കും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

7. And I will shake all the nations; and the desire of all nations shall come. And I will fill this house with glory, says Jehovah of Hosts.

8. വെള്ളി എനിക്കുള്ളതു, പൊന്നും എനിക്കുള്ളതു എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

8. The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine, says Jehovah of Hosts.

9. ഈ ആലയത്തിന്റെ പിന്നത്തെ മഹത്വം മുമ്പിലേത്തതിലും വലുതായിരിക്കും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; ഈ സ്ഥലത്തു ഞാന് സമാധാനം നലകും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

9. The glory of this latter house shall be greater than that of the former, says Jehovah of Hosts. And in this place I will give peace, says Jehovah of Hosts.

10. ദാര്യ്യാവേശിന്റെ രണ്ടാം ആണ്ടു, ഒമ്പതാം മാസം, ഇരുപത്തുനാലാം തിയ്യതി ഹഗ്ഗായി പ്രവാചകന് മുഖാന്തരം യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്

10. In the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the Word of Jehovah came to Haggai the prophet, saying,

11. സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനിങ്ങള് പുരോഹിതന്മാരോടു ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ചോദിക്കേണ്ടതെന്തെന്നാല്

11. Thus says Jehovah of Hosts: Now ask the priests the Law, saying,

12. ഒരുത്തന് തന്റെ വസ്ത്രത്തിന്റെ കോന്തലെക്കല് വിശുദ്ധമാംസം വഹിച്ചു, ആ കോന്തലകൊണ്ടു അപ്പമോ പായസമോ വീഞ്ഞോ എണ്ണയോ ഏതെങ്കിലും ഒരു ഭക്ഷണസാധനമോ തൊട്ടാല് അതു വിശുദ്ധമാകുമോ? അതിന്നു പുരോഹിതന്മാര് ഇല്ല എന്നുത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

12. If one carries holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and touches his skirt to the bread, or boiled food, or wine, or oil, or any food, will it become holy? And the priests answered and said, No.

13. എന്നാല് ഹഗ്ഗായിശവത്താല് അശുദ്ധനായ ഒരുത്തന് അവയില് ഒന്നു തൊടുന്നുവെങ്കില് അതു അശുദ്ധമാകുമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഅതു അശുദ്ധമാകും എന്നു പുരോഹിതന്മാര് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

13. And Haggai said, If an unclean body touches these, is it unclean? And the priests answered and said, It is unclean.

14. അതിന്നു ഹഗ്ഗായി ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ഈ ജനവും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ഈ ജാതിയും എന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് ആകുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു. അവരുടെ കൈകളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തിയൊക്കെയും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ; അവര് അവിടെ അര്പ്പിക്കുന്നതും അശുദ്ധം അത്രേ.

14. And Haggai answered and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before Me, declares Jehovah. And so is every work of their hands; and that which they offer there is unclean.

15. ആകയാല് നിങ്ങള് ഇന്നു തൊട്ടു പിന്നോക്കം, യഹോവയുടെ മന്ദിരത്തിങ്കല് കല്ലിന്മേല് കല്ലു വെച്ചതിന്നു മുമ്പുള്ളകാലം വിചാരിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് .

15. And now set your heart on it, from this day and onward: before the placing of a stone on a stone in the temple of Jehovah;

16. ആ കാലത്തു ഒരുത്തന് ഇരുപതു പറയുള്ള കൂമ്പാരത്തിലേക്കു ചെല്ലുമ്പോള് പത്തു മാത്രമേ കാണുകയുള്ളു; ഒരുത്തന് അമ്പതു പാത്രം കോരുവാന് ചക്കാലയില് ചെല്ലുമ്പോള് ഇരുപതു മാത്രമേ കാണുകയുള്ളു.

16. since those days, when one came to a heap of twenty measures, there were but ten. When one came to the wine vat to draw out fifty from the wine trough, there were but twenty.

17. വെണ്കതിരും വിഷമഞ്ഞും കല്മഴയുംകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ നിങ്ങളുടെ കൈകളുടെ സകല പ്രവൃത്തികളിലും ദണ്ഡിപ്പിച്ചു; എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങള് എങ്കലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

17. I struck you with blight, and with mildew, and with hail, in all the labors of your hands; yet you did not turn to Me, says Jehovah.

18. നിങ്ങള് ഇന്നുതൊട്ടു മുമ്പോട്ടു ദൃഷ്ടിവേക്കുവിന് ; ഒമ്പതാം മാസം, ഇരുപത്തു നാലാം തിയ്യതിമുതല്, യഹോവയുടെ മന്ദിരത്തിന്നു അടിസ്ഥാനം ഇട്ട ദിവസം തുടങ്ങിയുള്ള കാലത്തില് തന്നേ ദൃഷ്ടിവേക്കുവിന് .

18. Now set your heart from this day and forward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from the day that the foundation of Jehovah's temple was laid. Consider in your heart.

19. വിത്തു ഇനിയും കളപ്പുരയില് കിടക്കുന്നുവോ? മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയും അത്തിവൃക്ഷവും മാതളവും ഒലിവുമരവും കായക്കുന്നില്ലയോ? ഇന്നുമുതല് ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കും.

19. Is the seed still in the barn? As yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree have not brought forth. From this day I will bless them.

20. ഇരുപത്തു നാലാം തിയ്യതി യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു രണ്ടാം പ്രാവശ്യം ഹഗ്ഗായിക്കുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്

20. And again the Word of Jehovah came to Haggai, in the twenty-fourth day of the month, saying,

21. നീ യെഹൂദാദേശാധിപതിയായ സെരുബ്ബാബേലിനോടു പറയേണ്ടതുഞാന് ആകാശത്തെയും ഭൂമിയെയും ഇളക്കും.

21. Speak to Zerubbabel, the governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth.

22. ഞാന് രാജ്യങ്ങളുടെ സിംഹാസനം മറിച്ചിടും; ജാതികളുടെ രാജ്യങ്ങളുടെ ബലം നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും; ഞാന് രഥത്തെയും അതില് കയറി ഔടിക്കുന്നവരെയും മറിച്ചുകളയും; കുതിരകളും പുറത്തു കയറി ഔടിക്കുന്നവരും ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ സഹോദരന്റെ വാളിനാല് വീഴും.

22. And I will overthrow the throne of the kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the nations. And I will overthrow the chariots and their riders, and the horses and their riders will come down, each one by the sword of his brother.

23. അന്നാളില്--സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു--എന്റെ ദാസനായി ശെയല്തീയേലിന്റെ മകനായ സെരുബ്ബാബേലേ, ഞാന് നിന്നെ എടുത്തു മുദ്രമോതിരമാക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; ഞാന് നിന്നെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

23. In that day, says Jehovah of Hosts, I will take you, O Zerubbabel, My servant, the son of Shealtiel, says Jehovah, and will make you like a signet; for I have chosen you, declares Jehovah of Hosts.
