1. ഇപ്പോഴോ പുരോഹിതന്മാരേ, ഈ ആജ്ഞ നിങ്ങളോടു ആകുന്നു.

1. And now (O ye priests) this commandment toucheth you:

2. നിങ്ങള് കേട്ടനുസരിക്കയും എന്റെ നാമത്തിന്നു മഹത്വം കൊടുപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം മനസ്സുവെക്കുകയും ചെയ്യാഞ്ഞാല് ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ മേല് ശാപം അയച്ചു നിങ്ങള്ക്കുള്ള അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങളെയും ശപിക്കും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; അതേ, നിങ്ങള് മനസ്സു വെക്കായ്കകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് അവയെ ശപിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

2. If ye will not hear it, nor regard it, to give the glory unto my name, sayeth the LORD of Hosts, I will send a curse upon you, and will curse your blessings: yea curse them will I if ye do not take heed.

3. ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കുള്ള സന്തതിയെ ഭര്ത്സിക്കയും ചാണകം, നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉത്സവങ്ങളിലെ ചാണകം തന്നേ, നിങ്ങളുടെ മുഖത്തു വിതറുകയും അവര് നിങ്ങളെ അതിനോടുകൂടെ കൊണ്ടുപോകയും ചെയ്യും.

3. Behold, I shall corrupt your seed, and cast dung in your faces: even the dung of your solempne feasts and it shall cleave fast upon you.

4. ലേവിയോടുള്ള എന്റെ നിയമം നിലനില്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാന് ഈ ആജ്ഞ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് അറിയും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

4. And ye shall know that I have sent this commandment unto you: that my covenant which I made with Levi, might stand, sayeth the LORD of Hosts.

5. അവനോടുള്ള എന്റെ നിയമം ജീവനും സമാധാനവുമായിരുന്നു; അവന് ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് അവന്നു അവയെ കൊടുത്തു; അവന് എന്നെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു എന്റെ നാമംനിമിത്തം വിറെക്കയും ചെയ്തു.

5. I made a covenant of life and peace with him: this I gave him, that he might stand in awe of me: and so he did fear me, and had my name in reverence.

6. നേരുള്ള ഉപദേശം അവന്റെ വായില് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; നീതികേടു അവന്റെ അധരങ്ങളില് കണ്ടതുമില്ല; സമാധാനമായും പരമാര്ത്ഥമായും അവന് എന്നോടുകൂടെ നടന്നു പലരെയും അകൃത്യം വിട്ടുതിരിയുമാറാക്കി;

6. The law of truth was in his mouth, and there was no wickedness found in his lips. He walked with me in peace and equity, and did turn many one away from their sins.

7. പുരോഹിതന് സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതനാകയാല് അവന്റെ അധരങ്ങള് പരിജ്ഞാനം സൂക്ഷിച്ചുവെക്കേണ്ടതും ഉപദേശം അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു പഠിക്കേണ്ടതും അല്ലോ.

7. For the priest's lips should be sure knowledge, that men may seek the law at his mouth, for he is a messenger of the LORD of Hosts.

8. നിങ്ങളോ വഴി വിട്ടുമാറി പലരെയും ഉപദേശത്താല് ഇടറുമാറാക്കി ലേവിയുടെ നിയമം നശിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

8. But as for you, ye are gone clean out of the way, and have caused the multitude to be offended at the law: ye have broken the covenant of Levi, sayeth the LORD of Hosts.

9. അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ വഴികളെ പ്രമാണിക്കാതെ ന്യായപാലനത്തില് പക്ഷഭേദം കാണിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാനും നിങ്ങളെ സകലജനത്തിന്നും നിന്ദിതരും നീചരുമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

9. Therefore will I also make you to be despised, and to be of no reputation among all the people: because ye have not kept my ways, but been partial in the law.

10. നമുക്കെല്ലാവര്ക്കും ഒരു പിതാവല്ലോ ഉള്ളതു; ഒരു ദൈവം തന്നേയല്ലോ നമ്മെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചതു; നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ നിയമത്തെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നാം അന്യോന്യം ദ്രോഹം ചെയ്യുന്നതെന്തിന്നു?
1 കൊരിന്ത്യർ 8:6

10. Have we not all one father? Hath not one God made us? why doth every one of us then despise his own brother, and so break the covenant of our fathers?

11. യെഹൂദാ ദ്രോഹംചെയ്തു; യിസ്രായേലിലും യെരൂശലേമിലും മ്ളേച്ഛത സംഭവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവേക്കു ഇഷ്ടമായുള്ള അവന്റെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തെ യെഹൂദാ അശുദ്ധമാക്കി ഒരു അന്യദേവന്റെ മകളെ വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

11. Now hath Judah offended: yea the abomination is done in Israel and in Jerusalem, for Judah hath defiled the Sanctuary of the LORD, which he loved, and hath kept the daughter of a strange God.

12. അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുന്ന മനുഷ്യന്നു യഹോവ ചോദിക്കുന്നവനെയും ഉത്തരം പറയുന്നവനെയും സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവേക്കു വഴിപാടു അര്പ്പിക്കുന്നവനെയും യാക്കോബിന്റെ കൂടാരങ്ങളില് നിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളയും.

12. But the LORD shall destroy the man that doth this, yea both the master and the scholar, out of the tabernacle of Jacob, with him that offereth up meatoffering unto the LORD of Hosts.

13. രണ്ടാമതു നിങ്ങള് ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുന്നുയഹോവ ഇനി വഴിപാടു കടാക്ഷിക്കയോ നിങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു പ്രസാദമുള്ളതു കൈക്കൊള്കയോ ചെയ്യാതവണ്ണം നിങ്ങള് അവന്റെ യാഗപീഠത്തെ കണ്ണുനീര്കൊണ്ടും കരച്ചല്കൊണ്ടും ഞരക്കംകൊണ്ടും മൂടിക്കളയുന്നു.

13. Now have ye brought it to this point again, that the altar of the LORD is covered with tears weeping, and mourning: so that I will no more regard the meatoffering, neither will I receive or accept anything at your hands.

14. എന്നാല് നിങ്ങള് അതു എന്തുകൊണ്ടു എന്നു ചോദിക്കുന്നു. യഹോവ നിനക്കും നീ അവിശ്വസ്തത കാണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ യൌവനത്തിലെ ഭാര്യെക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ സാക്ഷിയായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു തന്നേ; അവള് നിന്റെ കൂട്ടാളിയും നിന്റെ ധര്മ്മപത്നിയുമല്ലോ.

14. And yet ye say: wherefore? Even because that where as the LORD made a covenant betwixt thee and the wife of thy youth, thou hast despised her: Yet is she thine own companion and married wife.

15. ലേശംപോലും സുബോധം ശേഷിച്ചിരുന്ന ഒരുത്തന് ഒരിക്കലും അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല. എന്നാല് ആ ഒരുത്തന് എന്തു ചെയ്തു? ദൈവം വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്ത സന്തതിയെ അവന് അന്വേഷിച്ചു. നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉള്ളില് സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് ; തന്റെ യൌവനത്തിലെ ഭാര്യയോടു ആരും അവിശ്വസ്തത കാണിക്കരുതു.

15. So did not the one, and yet had he an excellent spirit. What did then the one? He sought the seed promised of God. Therefore look well to your spirit, and let no man despise the wife of his youth.

16. ഞാന് ഉപേക്ഷണം വെറുക്കുന്നു എന്നു യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഅതു ചെയ്യുന്നവന് തന്റെ വസ്ത്രം സാഹസംകൊണ്ടു മൂടുന്നു എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു. ആകയാല് നിങ്ങള് അവിശ്വസ്തത കാണിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉള്ളില് സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് .

16. If thou hatest her, put her away, sayeth the LORD God of Israel and give her a clothing for the scorn, sayeth the LORD of Hosts. Look well then to your spirit, and despise her not.

17. നിങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളുടെ വാക്കുകളാല് യഹോവയെ മുഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. എന്നാല് നിങ്ങള്ഏതിനാല് ഞങ്ങള് അവനെ മുഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിക്കുന്നു. ദോഷം പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്ന ഏവനും യഹോവേക്കു ഇഷ്ടമുള്ളവന് ആകുന്നു; അങ്ങനെയുള്ളവരില് അവന് പ്രസാദിക്കുന്നു; അല്ലെങ്കില് ന്യായവിധിയുടെ ദൈവം എവിടെ? എന്നിങ്ങിനെ നിങ്ങള് പറയുന്നതിനാല് തന്നേ.

17. Ye grieve the LORD with your words, and yet ye say: wherewithall have we grieved him? In this, that ye say: All that do evil are good in the sight of God, and such please him. Or else where is the God that punisheth?
