1. യിസ്രായേലിനെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നതു യഹോവേക്കു പ്രസാദമെന്നു ബിലെയാം കണ്ടപ്പോള് അവന് മുമ്പിലത്തെപ്പോലെ ലക്ഷണം നോക്കുവാന് പോകാതെ മരുഭൂമിക്കുനേരെ മുഖം തിരിച്ചു.

1. Now when Balaam saw that it pleased God to bless Israel, he did not go according to his custom, to seek to use sorcery, but turned his face toward the wilderness.

2. ബിലെയാം തല ഉയര്ത്തി യിസ്രായേല് ഗോത്രംഗോത്രമായി പാര്ക്കുംന്നതു കണ്ടു; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാവു അവന്റെമേല് വന്നു;

2. And Balaam lifted up his eyes, and beheld Israel encamped by their tribes. And the Spirit of God came upon him.

3. അവന് സുഭാഷിതം ചൊല്ലിത്തുടങ്ങിയതുബെയോരിന്റെ മകനായ ബിലെയാം പറയുന്നു.

3. And he took up his parable and said, The utterance of Balaam son of Beor, the man whose eyes are truly open says,

4. കണ്ണടച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന പുരുഷന് പറയുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു കേള്ക്കുന്നവന് , സര്വ്വശക്തന്റെ ദര്ശനം ദര്ശിക്കുന്നവന് , വീഴുമ്പോള് കണ്ണു തുറന്നിരിക്കുന്നവന് പറയുന്നതു

4. he who hears the oracle of the Mighty One, who saw a vision of God in sleep; his eyes were opened:

5. യാക്കോബേ, നിന്റെ കൂടാരങ്ങള് യിസ്രായേലേ, നിന്റെ നിവാസങ്ങള് എത്ര മനോഹരം!

5. How wonderful [are] your tents, O Jacob, and your dwellings, O Israel!

6. താഴ്വരപോലെ അവ പരന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; നദീതീരത്തെ ഉദ്യാനങ്ങള്പോലെ, യഹോവ നട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ചന്ദനവൃക്ഷങ്ങള് പോലെ, ജലാന്തികേയുള്ള ദേവദാരുക്കള്പോലെ തന്നേ.

6. As shady groves, and as gardens by a river, and as tents which God pitched, and as cedars by the waters.

7. അവന്റെ തൊട്ടികളില്നിന്നു വെള്ളം ഒഴുകുന്നു; അവന്റെ വിത്തിന്നു വെള്ളം ധാരാളം; അവന്റെ അരചന് ആഗാഗിലും ശ്രേഷ്ഠന് ; അവന്റെ രാജത്വം ഉന്നതം തന്നേ.

7. There shall come a man out of his seed, and he shall rule over many nations; and the kingdom of God shall be exalted, and his kingdom shall be increased.

8. ദൈവം അവനെ മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു കൊണ്ടു വരുന്നു; കാട്ടുപോത്തിന്നു തുല്യമായ ബലം അവന്നു ഉണ്ടു; ശത്രുജാതികളെ അവന് തിന്നുകളയുന്നു; അവരുടെ അസ്ഥികളെ അവന് തകര്ക്കുംന്നു; അസ്ത്രം എയ്തു അവരെ തുളെക്കുന്നു.

8. God led him out of Egypt; he has as it were the glory of a unicorn. He shall consume the nations of his enemies, and he shall drain their marrow, and with his darts he shall shoot through the enemy.

9. അവന് സിംഹംപോലെ പതുങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുന്നു; ഒരു സിംഹികണക്കെത്തന്നേ; ആര് അവനെ ഉണര്ത്തും? നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവന് അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവന് ; നിന്നെ ശപിക്കുന്നവന് ശപീക്കപ്പെട്ടവന് .

9. He lies down, he rests as a lion; and as a young lion, who shall rouse him? Those that bless you are blessed, and those that curse you are cursed.

10. അപ്പോള് ബാലാക്കിന്റെ കോപം ബിലെയാമിന്റെ നേരെ ജ്വലിച്ചു; അവന് കൈ ഞെരിച്ചു ബിലെയാമിനോടുഎന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ ശപിപ്പാന് ഞാന് നിന്നെ വിളിപ്പിച്ചു; നീയോ ഇവരെ ഈ മൂന്നു പ്രാവശ്യവും ആശീര്വ്വദിക്കയത്രേ ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

10. And Balak was angry with Balaam, and clapped his hands together. And Balak said to Balaam, I called you to curse my enemy, and behold you have decidedly blessed [him] this third time.

11. ഇപ്പോള് നിന്റെ സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു ഔടിപ്പോക; നിന്നെ ഏറ്റവും ബഹുമാനിപ്പാന് ഞാന് വിചാരിച്ചിരുന്നു; എന്നാല് യഹോവ നിനക്കു ബഹുമാനം മുടക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

11. Now therefore flee to your place. I said, I will honor you, but now the Lord has deprived you of glory.

12. അതിന്നു ബിലെയാം ബാലാക്കിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുബാലാക് തന്റെ ഗൃഹം നിറെച്ചു വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും തന്നാലും യഹോവയുടെ കല്പന ലംഘിച്ചു ഗുണമെങ്കിലും ദോഷമെങ്കിലും സ്വമേധയായി ചെയ്വാന് എനിക്കു കഴിയുന്നതല്ല; യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നതു മാത്രമേ

12. And Balaam said to Balak, Did I not speak to your messengers also whom you sent to me, saying,

13. ഞാന് പറകയുള്ളു എന്നു എന്റെ അടുക്കല് നീ അയച്ച ദൂതന്മാരോടു ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞില്ലയോ?

13. If Balak should give me his house full of silver and gold, I shall not be able to transgress the word of the Lord to make it good or bad by myself; whatsoever things God shall say, them will I speak.

14. ഇപ്പോള് ഇതാ ഞാന് എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കലേക്കു പോകുന്നു; വരിക, ഭാവികാലത്തു ഈ ജനം നിന്റെ ജനത്തോടു എന്തു ചെയ്യുമെന്നു ഞാന് നിന്നെ അറിയിക്കാം.

14. And now, behold, I return to my place; come, I will advise you of what this people shall do to your people in the last days.

15. പിന്നെ അവന് സുഭാഷിതം ചൊല്ലിത്തുടങ്ങിയതെന്തെന്നാല്ബെയോരിന്റെ മകന് ബിലെയാം പറയുന്നു; കണ്ണടെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന പുരുഷന് പറയുന്നു;

15. And he took up his parable and said, The utterance of Balaam the son of Beor, the man whose eyes are truly open,

16. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു കേള്ക്കുന്നവന് അത്യുന്നതന്റെ പരിജ്ഞാനം പ്രാപിച്ചവന് , സര്വ്വശക്തന്റെ ദര്ശനം ദര്ശിക്കുന്നവന് , വീഴുമ്പോള് കണ്ണു തുറന്നിരിക്കുന്നവന് പറയുന്നതു

16. hearing the oracles of God, receiving knowledge from the Most High, and having seen a vision of God in sleep; his eyes were opened.

17. ഞാന് അവനെ കാണും, ഇപ്പോള് അല്ലതാനും; ഞാന് അവനെ ദര്ശിക്കും, അടുത്തല്ലതാനും. യാക്കോബില്നിന്നു ഒരു നക്ഷത്രം ഉദിക്കും; യിസ്രായേലില്നിന്നു ഒരു ചെങ്കോല് ഉയരും. അതു മോവാബിന്റെ പാര്ശ്വങ്ങളെയെല്ലാം തകര്ക്കയും തുമുലപുത്രന്മാരെ ഒക്കെയും സംഹരിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

17. I will point to Him, but not now; I bless Him, but He draws not near: a Star shall arise out of Jacob, a Man shall spring forth out of Israel; and shall crush the princes of Moab, and shall spoil all the sons of Seth.

18. And Edom shall be an inheritance, and Esau his enemy shall be an inheritance [of Israel], and Israel does valiantly.

19. യാക്കോബില്നിന്നു ഒരുത്തന് ഭരിക്കും; ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോയവരെ അവന് നഗരത്തില്നിന്നു നശിപ്പിക്കും.

19. And [One] shall arise out of Jacob, and destroy out of the city him that escapes.

20. അവന് അമാലേക്കിനെ നോക്കി സുഭാഷിതം ചൊല്ലിയതുഅമാലേക് ജാതികളില് മുമ്പന് ; അവന്റെ അവസാനമോ നാശം അത്രേ.

20. And having seen Amalek, he took up his parable and said, Amalek [is] the first of the nations; yet his seed shall perish.

21. അവന് കേന്യരെ നോക്കി സുഭാഷിതം ചൊല്ലിയതുനിന്റെ നിവാസം ഉറപ്പുള്ളതുനിന്റെ കൂടു പാറയില് വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

21. And having seen the Kenite, he took up his parable and said, Your dwelling place [is] strong; yet though you should put your nest in a rock,

22. എങ്കിലും കേന്യന്നു നിര്മ്മൂലനാശം ഭവിക്കും; അശ്ശൂര് നിന്നെ പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോവാന് ഇനിയെത്ര?

22. and though Beor should have a skillfully contrived hiding place, the Assyrians shall carry you away captive.

23. പിന്നെ അവന് ഈ സുഭാഷിതം ചൊല്ലിയതുഹാ, ദൈവം ഇതു നിവര്ത്തിക്കുമ്പോള് ആര് ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കും?

23. And he looked upon Og, and took up his parable and said, Alas, who shall live, when God shall do these things?

24. കിത്തീംതീരത്തുനിന്നു കപ്പലുകള് വരും; അവ അശ്ശൂരിനെ താഴ്ത്തും, ഏബെരിനെയും താഴ്ത്തും. അവന്നും നിര്മ്മൂലനാശം ഭവിക്കും

24. And one shall come forth from the hands of the Cyprians, and shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict the Hebrews, and they shall perish together.

25. അതിന്റെ ശേഷം ബിലെയാം പുറപ്പെട്ടു തന്റെ സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി; ബാലാക്കും തന്റെ വഴിക്കു പോയി.

25. And Balaam rose up and departed and returned to his place, and Balak went to his own home.
