1. ആറു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം യേശു പത്രൊസിനെയും യാക്കോബിനെയും അവന്റെ സഹോദരനായ യോഹന്നാനെയും കൂട്ടി തനിച്ചു ഒരു ഉയര്ന്ന മലയിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി,.

1. Six days later Jesus took with Him Peter and James and his brother John. He led them up to a high mountain by themselves.

2. അവരുടെ മുമ്പാകെ രൂപാന്തരപ്പെട്ടു, അവന്റെ മുഖം സൂര്യനെപ്പോലെ ശോഭിച്ചു അവന്റെ വസ്ത്രം വെളിച്ചം പോലെ വെള്ളയായി തീര്ന്നു.

2. He was changed in looks before them. His face was as bright as the sun. His clothes looked as white as light.

3. മോശെയും ഏലിയാവും അവനോടു സംഭാഷിക്കുന്നതായി അവര് കണ്ടു.

3. Moses and Elijah were seen talking with Jesus.

4. അപ്പോള് പത്രൊസ് യേശുവിനോടുകര്ത്താവേ, നാം ഇവിടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നതു നന്നു; നിനക്കു സമ്മതമെങ്കില് ഞാന് ഇവിടെ മൂന്നു കുടില് ഉണ്ടാക്കാം ഒന്നു നിനക്കും ഒന്നു മോശെക്കും ഒന്നു ഏലീയാവിന്നും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

4. Then Peter said to Jesus, 'Lord, it is good for us to be here. If You will let us, we will build three altars here. One will be for You and one for Moses and one for Elijah.'

5. അവന് പറയുമ്പോള് തന്നേ പ്രകാശമുള്ളോരു മേഘം അവരുടെ മേല് നിഴലിട്ടു; മേഘത്തില് നിന്നുഇവന് എന്റെ പ്രീയ പുത്രന് , ഇവങ്കല് ഞാന് പ്രസാദിക്കുന്നു; ഇവന്നു ചെവികൊടുപ്പിന് എന്നു ഒരു ശബ്ദവും ഉണ്ടായി.

5. While Peter was speaking, a bright cloud came over them. A voice from the cloud said, 'This is My muchloved Son, I am very happy with Him. Listen to Him!'

6. ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു ഏറ്റവും ഭയപ്പെട്ടു കവിണ്ണുവീണു.

6. When the followers heard this, they got down on the ground on their faces and were very much afraid.

7. യേശു അടുത്തു ചെന്നു അവരെ തൊട്ടു“എഴുന്നേല്പിന് , ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

7. Jesus came and put His hand on them. He said, 'Get up! Do not be afraid.'

8. അവര് തലപൊക്കിയാറെ യേശുവിനെ മാത്രമല്ലാതെ ആരെയും കണ്ടില്ല.

8. When they looked up, they saw no one there but Jesus only.

9. അവന് മലയില് നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങുമ്പോള് യേശു അവരോടു“മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് മരിച്ചവരുടെ ഇടയില് നിന്നു ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേലക്കുംവരെ ഈ ദര്ശനം ആരോടും പറയരുതു” എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

9. As they came down from the mountain, Jesus told them in strong words, saying, 'Do not tell anyone what you have seen until the Son of Man is raised from the dead.'

10. ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അവനോടുഎന്നാല് ഏലീയാവു മുമ്പെ വരേണ്ടതു എന്നു ശാസ്ത്രിമാര് പറയുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

10. The followers asked Jesus, 'Then why do the teachers of the Law say that Elijah must come first?'

11. അതിന്നു അവന് “ഏലീയാവു വന്നു സകലവും യഥാസ്ഥാനത്താക്കും സത്യം.
മലാഖി 4:5

11. He said, 'For sure, Elijah will come first and get things ready.

12. എന്നാല് ഏലീയാവു വന്നു കഴിഞ്ഞു എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു; എങ്കിലും അവര് അവനെ അറിഞ്ഞുകൊള്ളാതെ തങ്ങള്ക്കു തോന്നിയതു എല്ലാം അവനോടു ചെയ്തു. അവ്വണ്ണം മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്നും അവരാല് കഷ്ടപ്പെടുവാനുണ്ടു” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

12. But I tell you, Elijah has already come and they did not know him. They did to him whatever they wanted to do. In the same way the Son of Man will suffer from them also.'

13. അവന് യോഹന്നാന് സ്നാപകനെക്കുറിച്ചു തങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു ശിഷ്യന്മാര് ഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

13. Then the followers understood He was talking about John the Baptist.

14. അവര് പുരുഷാരത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നാറെ ഒരു മനുഷ്യന് വന്നു അവന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ മുട്ടുകുത്തി

14. When they came to many people, a man came up to Jesus and got on his knees. He said,

15. കര്ത്താവേ, എന്റെ മകനോടു കരുണയുണ്ടാകേണമേ; അവന് ചന്ദ്രരോഗം പിടിച്ചു പലപ്പോഴും തീയിലും പലപ്പോഴും വെള്ളത്തിലും വീണു വല്ലാത്ത കഷ്ടത്തിലായ്പോകുന്നു.

15. 'Lord, have pity on my son. He is very sick and at times loses the use of his mind. Many times he falls into the fire or into the water.

16. ഞാന് അവനെ നിന്റെ ശീഷ്യന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; എന്നാല് സൌഖ്യം വരുത്തുവാന് അവര്ക്കും കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

16. I took him to Your followers but they were not able to heal him.'

17. അതിന്നു യേശു“അവിശ്വാസവും കോട്ടവുമുള്ള തലമുറയേ, എത്രത്തോളം ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു കൂടെ ഇരിക്കും? എത്രത്തോളം നിങ്ങളെ സഹിക്കും? അവനെ എന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവരുവിന് ” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞഞു.

17. Then Jesus said, 'You people of this day have no faith and you are going the wrong way. How long must I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring him here to Me.'

18. യേശു ഭൂതത്തെ ശാസിച്ചു, അതു അവനെ വിട്ടുപോയി, ബാലന്നു ആ നാഴികമുതല് സൌഖ്യംവന്നു.

18. Jesus spoke sharp words to the demon and the demon came out of him. At once the boy was healed.

19. പിന്നെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് സ്വകാര്യമായി യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നുഞങ്ങള്ക്കു അതിനെ പുറത്താക്കിക്കൂടാഞ്ഞതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

19. The followers came to Jesus when He was alone. They said, 'Why were we not able to put the demon out?'

20. അവന് അവരോടു“നിങ്ങളുടെ അല്പവിശ്വാസം നിമിത്തമത്രേ;

20. Jesus said to them, 'Because you have so little faith. For sure, I tell you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to over there,' and it would move over. You will be able to do anything.

21. നിങ്ങള്ക്കു കടുകുമണിയോളം വിശ്വാസമുണ്ടെങ്കില് ഈ മലയോടുഇവിടെ നിന്നു അങ്ങോട്ടു നീങ്ങുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല് അതു നീങ്ങും; നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഒന്നും അസാദ്ധ്യമാകയുമില്ല.” (എങ്കിലും പ്രാര്ത്ഥനയാലും ഉപവാസത്താലുമല്ലാതെ ഈ ജാതി നീങ്ങിപ്പോകുന്നില്ല) എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

21. *But this kind of demon does not go out but by prayer and by going without food so you can pray better.'

22. അവര് ഗലീലയില് സഞ്ചരിക്കുമ്പോള് യേശു അവരോടു“മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് മനുഷ്യരുടെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെടുവാറായിരിക്കുന്നു.

22. While they were still in Galilee, Jesus said to the followers, 'The Son of Man will be handed over to men.

23. അവര് അവനെ കൊല്ലുകയും മൂന്നാം നാള് അവന് ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്ക്കയും ചെയ്യും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവരോ ഏറ്റവും ദുഃഖിച്ചു.

23. They will kill Him, but He will be raised from the dead three days later.' The followers were very sad.

24. അവര് കഫര്ന്നഹൂമില് എത്തിയാറെ ദ്വിദ്രഹ്മപ്പണം വാങ്ങുന്നവര് പത്രൊസിന്റെ അടക്കല് വന്നുനിങ്ങളുടെ ഗുരു ദ്വിദ്രഹ്മപ്പണം കൊടുക്കുന്നില്ലയോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഉവ്വു എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

24. They came to the city of Capernaum. Those who gathered the tax for the house of God came to Peter. They said, 'Does not your Teacher pay tax money for the house of God?'

25. അവന് വീട്ടില് വന്നപ്പോള് യേശു അവനോടു“ശിമോനേ, നിനക്കു എന്തു തോന്നുന്നു? ഭൂമിയിലെ രാജാക്കന്മാര് ചുങ്കമോ കരമോ ആരോടു വാങ്ങുന്നു? പുത്രന്മാരോടോ അന്യരോടോ” എന്നു മുന്നിട്ടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഅന്യരോടു എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

25. Peter said, 'Yes.' When Peter came into the house, Jesus spoke to him first. He said, 'What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of this earth get their money or taxes, from their own people or from those of another country?'

26. യേശു അവനോടു“എന്നാല് പുത്രന്മാര് ഒഴിവുള്ളവരല്ലോ.

26. Peter said to Him, 'From those of another country.' Then Jesus said, 'Then their own people do not pay taxes.

27. എങ്കിലും നാം അവര്ക്കും ഇടര്ച്ച വരുത്താതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ കടലീലേക്കു ചെന്നു ചൂണ്ടല് ഇട്ടു ആദ്യം കിട്ടുന്ന മീനിനെ എടുക്ക; അതിന്റെ വായ് തുറക്കുമ്പോള് ഒരു ചതുര്ദ്രഹ്മപ്പണം കാണും; അതു എടുത്തു എനിക്കും നിനക്കും വേണ്ടി കൊടുക്ക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

27. But so we will not make them to be troubled, go down to the lake and throw in a hook. Take the first fish that comes up. In its mouth you will find a piece of money. Take that and pay the tax for Me and yourself.'
