1. അനന്തരം പിശാചിനാല് പരീക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുവാന് യേശുവിനെ ആത്മാവു മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കു നടത്തി.

1. Then was Iesus ledd awaye of the spirite in to wildernes, to be tempted of the deuyll.

2. അവന് നാല്പതു പകലും നാല്പതു രാവും ഉപവസിച്ച ശേഷം അവന്നു വിശന്നു.
പുറപ്പാടു് 34:28

2. And when he had fasted fourtye dayes and fourtye nightes, he was afterward an hungred.

3. അപ്പോള് പരീക്ഷകന് അടുത്തു വന്നുനീ ദൈവപുത്രന് എങ്കില് ഈ കല്ലു അപ്പമായ്തീരുവാന് കല്പിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

3. And the tepter came to him and sayde: yf thou be the sonne of God, commaunde, that these stones be made breed.

4. അതിന്നു അവന് “മനുഷ്യന് അപ്പംകൊണ്ടു മാത്രമല്ല, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വായില്കൂടി വരുന്ന സകലവചനംകൊണ്ടും ജീവിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

4. He answered & sayde: yt is wrytte: Man shall not lyue by bred onlye, but by euery worde that proceadeth out of the mouth of God.

6. നീ ദൈവപുത്രന് എങ്കില് താഴത്തോട്ടു ചാടുക; “നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു അവന് തന്റെ ദൂതന്മാരോടു കല്പിക്കും; അവന് നിന്റെ കാല് കല്ലിനോടു തട്ടാതവണ്ണം നിന്നെ കയ്യില് താങ്ങികൊള്ളും” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

6. and sayde vnto hym: yf thou be ye sonne of God, cast thy sylfe downe. For it is wrytten: he shall geue his angels charge ouer the and with their handes they shal holde the vp, that thou dashe not thy fote agaynst a stone.

7. യേശു അവനോടു“നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ കര്ത്താവിനെ പരീക്ഷിക്കരുതു” എന്നും കൂടെ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

7. And Iesus sayde vnto hym: it ys wrytten also: Thou shalt not tempte thy LORDE God.

8. പിന്നെ പിശാചു അവനെ ഏറ്റവും ഉയര്ന്നോരു മലമേല് കൂട്ടികൊണ്ടുപോയി ലോകത്തിലുള്ള സകല രാജ്യങ്ങളെയും അവയുടെ മഹത്വത്തെയും കാണിച്ചു

8. Agayne, the deuyll toke hym vp and led hym into an excedynge hye mountayne, and shewed hym all the kyngdomes of the worlde, and all the glorie of them,

9. വീണു എന്നെ നമസ്കരിച്ചാല് ഇതൊക്കെയും നിനക്കു തരാം എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

9. and sayde vnto hym: all these wil I geue the, yf thou wilt fall downe and worship me.

10. യേശു അവനോടുസാത്താനേ, എന്നെ വിട്ടുപോ; “നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ കര്ത്താവിനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു അവനെ മാത്രമേ ആരാധിക്കാവു” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

10. Then sayde Iesus vnto hym: Auoyde Sata. For it ys wrytte: thou shalt worshyp the LORDE thy God and hym onely shalt thou serue.

11. അപ്പോള് പിശാചു അവനെ വിട്ടുപോയി; ദൂതന്മാര് അടുത്തുവന്നു അവനെ ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ചു.

11. Then the deuell left hym, and beholde, the angels came and ministred vnto hym.

12. യോഹന്നാന് തടവില് ആയി എന്നു കേട്ടാറെ അവന് ഗലീലെക്കു വാങ്ങിപ്പോയി,

12. When Iesus had herde that Ihon was taken, he departed into Galile

13. നസറെത്ത് വിട്ടു സെബൂലൂന്റെയും നഫ്താലിയുടെയും അതിരുകളില് കടല്ക്കരെയുള്ള കഫര്ന്നഹൂമില് ചെന്നു പാര്ത്തു;

13. and left Nazareth, and went and dwelt in Capernaum, which is a cite apon the see, in the coostes of zabulon and Neptalim,

14. “സെബൂലൂന് ദേശവും നഫ്താലിദേശവും കടല്ക്കരയിലും യോര്ദ്ദാന്നക്കരെയുമുള്ള നാടും ജാതികളുടെ ഗലീലയും .”

14. yt the thinge might be fulfilled whiche was spoken by Esay the Prophet, sayinge:

15. ഇങ്ങനെ ഇരുട്ടില് ഇരിക്കുന്ന ജനം വലിയോരു വെളിച്ചം കണ്ടു; മരണത്തിന്റെ ദേശത്തിലും നിഴലിലും ഇരിക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും പ്രകാശം ഉദിച്ചു”
യെശയ്യാ 9:1-2

15. The londe of zabulon and Neptalim, the waye of the see beyonde Iordan, and Galile of the Gentyls,

16. എന്നു യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന് മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിവൃത്തിയാകുവാന് ഇടവന്നു.
യെശയ്യാ 9:1-2

16. the people which sat in darknes, sawe a greate lyght, & to them which sat in the region & shadowe of deeth, lyght is begone to shyne.

17. അന്നുമുതല് യേശു“സ്വര്ഗ്ഗരാജ്യം സമീപിച്ചിരിക്കയാല് മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടുവിന് ” എന്നു പ്രസംഗിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.

17. From that tyme forth beganne Iesus to preach, and to saye: Amende youre selues, ye kingdome of heauen is at honde.

18. അവന് ഗലീലക്കടല്പുറത്തു നടക്കുമ്പോള് പത്രൊസ് എന്നു പേരുള്ള ശിമോന് , അവന്റെ സഹോദരനായ അന്ത്രെയാസ് എന്നിങ്ങനെ മീന് പിടിക്കാരായ രണ്ടു സഹോദരന്മാര് കടലില് വല വീശുന്നതു കണ്ടു

18. As Iesus walked by the see of Galile, he sawe two brethren: Simon which was called Peter, & Andrew his brother, castynge a net into ye see, for they were fisshers,

19. “എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരുവിന് ; ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ മനുഷ്യരെ പിടിക്കുന്നവരാക്കും” എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

19. and he sayde vnto them: folowe me, & I will make you fisshers of me.

20. ഉടനെ അവര് വല വിട്ടേച്ചു അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.

20. And they strayght waye lefte their nettes, and folowed hym.

21. അവിടെ നിന്നു മുമ്പോട്ടു പോയാറെ സെബെദിയുടെ മകന് യാക്കോബും അവന്റെ സഹോദരന് യോഹന്നാനും എന്ന വേറെ രണ്ടു സഹോദരന്മാര് പടകില് ഇരുന്നു അപ്പനായ സെബദിയുമായി വല നന്നാക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു അവരെയും വിളിച്ചു.

21. And whan he wet forth from thence, he sawe other two brethren, Iames the sonne of zebede, and Ihon his brother, in the ship with zebede their father, mendynge their nettes, and called them.

22. അവരും ഉടനെ പടകിനെയും അപ്പനെയും വിട്ടു അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.

22. And they without tarynge lefte ye shyp and their father, and folowed hym.

23. പിന്നെ യേശു ഗലീലയില് ഒക്കെയും ചുറ്റി സഞ്ചരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു അവരുടെ പള്ളികളില് ഉപദേശിക്കയും രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ സുവിശേഷം പ്രസംഗിക്കയും ജനത്തിലുള്ള സകലദീനത്തെയും വ്യാധിയെയും സൌഖ്യമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.

23. And Iesus went aboute all Galile, teachyng in their synagoges, and preachynge the gospel of the kyngdome, and healed all maner of siknes, & all maner dyseases amonge the people.

24. അവന്റെ ശ്രുതി സുറിയയില് ഒക്കെയും പരന്നു. നാനാവ്യാധികളാലും ബാധകളാലും വലഞ്ഞവര്, ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തര്, ചന്ദ്രരോഗികള്, പക്ഷവാതക്കാര് ഇങ്ങനെ സകലവിധ ദീനക്കാരെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടു വന്നു.

24. And his fame spred abrode through out all Siria. And they brought vnto hym all sick people, that were taken with diuers diseases and gripinges, and the yt were possessed with deuils, & those which were lunatyke, and those that had the palsie: & he healed the.

25. അവന് അവരെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കി; ഗലീല, ദെക്കപ്പൊലി, യെരൂശലേം, യെഹൂദ്യ, യോര്ദ്ദന്നക്കരെ എന്നീ ഇടങ്ങളില് നിന്നു വളരെ പുരുഷാരം അവനെ പിന് തുടര്ന്നു.

25. And ther folowed hym a greate nombre of people, from Galile, & from the ten cities, and from Ierusalem, and from the regions that lye beyonde Iordan.
