1. “മനുഷ്യര് കാണേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ നീതിയെ അവരുടെ മുമ്പില് ചെയ്യാതിരിപ്പാന് സൂക്ഷിപ്പിന് ; അല്ലാഞ്ഞാല് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലുള്ള നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവിന്റെ പക്കല് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു പ്രതിഫലമില്ല.

1. But take heed, that ye do not, your righteousness, before men, to be gazed at by them, otherwise at least, reward, have ye none, with your Father who is in the heavens.

2. ആകയാല് ഭിക്ഷകൊടുക്കുമ്പോള് മനുഷ്യരാല് മാനം ലഭിപ്പാന് പള്ളികളിലും വീഥികളിലും കപടഭക്തിക്കാര് ചെയ്യുന്നതുപോലെ നിന്റെ മുമ്പില് കാഹളം ഊതിക്കരുതു; അവര്ക്കും പ്രതിഫലം കിട്ടിപ്പോയി എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു

2. When, therefore, thou mayest be doing an alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, just as, the hypocrites, do in the synagogues and in the streets that they may be glorified by men, Verily, I say unto you, they are getting back their reward.

3. നീയോ ഭിക്ഷകൊടുക്കുമ്പോള് നിന്റെ ഭിക്ഷ രഹസ്യത്തിലായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വലങ്കൈ ചെയ്യുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ഇടങ്കൈ അറിയരുതു.

3. But, thou, when doing an alms, let not, thy left hand, know what thy right hand is doing;

4. രഹസ്യത്തില് കാണുന്ന നിന്റെ പിതാവു നിനക്കു പ്രതിഫലം തരും.

4. that thine alms may be in secret, and, thy Father, who seeth in secret, will give it back to thee.

5. നിങ്ങള് പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കുമ്പോള് കപടഭക്തിക്കാരെപ്പോലെ ആകരുതു; അവര് മനുഷ്യര്ക്കും വിളങ്ങേണ്ടതിന്നു പള്ളികളിലും തെരുക്കോണുകളിലും നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിപ്പാന് ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നു; അവര്ക്കും പ്രതിഫലം കിട്ടിപ്പോയി എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

5. And, when ye may be praying, ye shall not be as the hypocrites, because they love, in the synagogues, and at the corners of the broad ways, to take their stand and pray, that they may shine before men; Verily, I say unto you, they are getting back their reward.

6. നീയോ പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കുമ്പോള് അറയില് കടന്നു വാതില് അടെച്ചു രഹസ്യത്തിലുള്ള നിന്റെ പിതാവിനോടു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്ക; രഹസ്യത്തില് കാണുന്ന നിന്റെ പിതാവു നിനക്കു പ്രതിഫലം തരും.

6. But, thou, when thou wouldest pray, enter into thy closet, and, fastening thy door, pray unto thy Father who is in secret, and, thy Father who seeth in secret, will reward thee.

7. പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കയില് നിങ്ങള് ജാതികളെപ്പോലെ ജല്പനം ചെയ്രുതു; അതിഭാഷണത്താല് ഉത്തരം കിട്ടും എന്നല്ലോ അവര്ക്കും തോന്നുന്നതു.

7. And, being at prayer, use not vain repetitions, just like the nations, for they think, that, in their much speaking, they shall be hoard;

8. അവരോടു തുല്യരാകരുതു; നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ആവശ്യമുള്ളതു ഇന്നതെന്നു നിങ്ങള് യാചിക്കുംമുമ്പെ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

8. do not, therefore, make yourselves like them, for God your Father knoweth of what things ye have, need, before ye ask him.

9. നിങ്ങള് ഈവണ്ണം പ്രാര്ത്ഥിപ്പിന് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവേ, നിന്റെ നാമം വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെടേണമേ;

9. Thus, therefore pray, ye: Our Father, who art in the heavens, Hallowed be thy name,

10. നിന്റെ രാജ്യം വരേണമേ; നിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലെപ്പോലെ ഭൂമിയിലും ആകേണമേ;

10. Come may thy kingdom, Accomplished be thy will, as in heaven, also on earth:

11. ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു ആവശ്യമുള്ള ആഹാരം ഇന്നു തരേണമേ;

11. Our needful bread, give us, this day;

12. ഞങ്ങളുടെ കടക്കാരോടു ഞങ്ങള് ക്ഷിമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഞങ്ങളുടെ കടങ്ങളെ ഞങ്ങളോടും ക്ഷമിക്കേണമേ;

12. And forgive us our debts, as, we also, have forgiven our debtors;

13. ഞങ്ങളെ പരീക്ഷയില് കടത്താതെ ദുഷ്ടങ്കല്നിന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ വിടുവിക്കേണമേ. രാജ്യവും ശക്തിയും മഹത്വവും എന്നേക്കും നിനക്കുള്ളതല്ലോ.

13. And bring us not into temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.

14. നിങ്ങള് മനുഷ്യരോടു അവരുടെ പിഴകളെ ക്ഷമിച്ചാല്, സ്വര്ഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു നിങ്ങളോടും ക്ഷമിക്കും.

14. For, if ye forgive men their faults, Your Father who is in the heavens, will forgive, even you;

15. നിങ്ങള് മനുഷ്യരോടു പിഴകളെ ക്ഷമിക്കാഞ്ഞാലോ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു നിങ്ങളുടെ പിഴകളെയും ക്ഷമിക്കയില്ല.

15. But, if ye forgive not men their faults , neither will your Father forgive, your faults.

16. ഉപവസിക്കുമ്പോള് നിങ്ങള് കപടഭക്തിക്കാരെപ്പോലെ വാടിയ മുഖം കാണിക്കരുതു; അവര് ഉപവസിക്കുന്നതു മനുഷ്യര്ക്കും വിളങ്ങേണ്ടതിന്നു മുഖം വിരൂപമാക്കുന്നു; അവര്ക്കും പ്രതിഫലം കിട്ടിപ്പോയി എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

16. And, when ye may he fasting, become not ye, as the hypocrites, of sullen countenance, for they darken their looks, that they may appear, unto men, to be fasting: Verily, I say unto you, they are getting back their reward.

17. നീയോ ഉപവസിക്കുമ്പോള് നിന്റെ ഉപവാസം മനുഷ്യര്ക്കല്ല രഹസ്യത്തിലുള്ള നിന്റെ പിതാവിന്നു വിളങ്ങേണ്ടതിന്നു തലയില് എണ്ണ തേച്ചു മുഖം കഴുകുക.

17. But, when, thou, art fasting, anoint thy head, and, thy face, wash,

18. രഹസ്യത്തില് കാണുന്ന നിന്റെ പിതാവു നിനക്കു പ്രതിഫലം നലകും.

18. that thou do not appear, unto men, to be fasting, but to thy Father who is in secret, and, thy Father who seeth in secret, will reward thee.

19. പുഴുവും തുരുമ്പും കെടുക്കയും കള്ളന്മാര് തുരന്നു മോഷ്ടിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ഈ ഭൂമിയില് നിങ്ങള് നിക്ഷേപം സ്വരൂപിക്കരുതു.

19. Be not laying up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where, moth and rust, do tarnish, and where, thieves, dig through and steal;

20. പുഴുവും തുരുമ്പും കെടുക്കാതെയും കള്ളന്മാര് തുരന്നു മോഷ്ടിക്കാതെയുമിരിക്കുന്ന സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് നിക്ഷേപം സ്വരൂപിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് .

20. but be laying up or yourselves treasures in heaven, where, neither moth nor rust, doth tarnish, and where, thieves, dig not through nor steal:

21. നിന്റെ നിക്ഷേപം ഉള്ളേടത്തു നിന്റെ ഹൃദയവും ഇരിക്കും.

21. for, where, thy treasure, is, there, will be, thy heart also .

22. ശരീരത്തിന്റെ വിളകൂ കണ്ണു ആകുന്നു; കണ്ണു ചൊവ്വുള്ളതെങ്കില് നിന്റെ ശരീരം മുഴുവനും പ്രകാശിതമായിരിക്കും.

22. The lamp of the body, is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body, shall be, lighted up;

23. കണ്ണു കേടുള്ളതെങ്കിലോ നിന്റെ ശരീരം മുഴുവനും ഇരുണ്ടതായിരിക്കും; എന്നാല് നിന്നിലുള്ള വെളിച്ചം ഇരുട്ടായാല് ഇരുട്ടു എത്ര വലിയതു!

23. But, if thine eye be, evil, thy whole body, shall be, in the dark; if therefore, the light which is in thee, is, darkness, the darkness, how great!

24. രണ്ടു യജമാനന്മാരെ സേവിപ്പാന് ആര്ക്കുംകഴികയില്ല; അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്താല് ഒരുത്തനെ പകെച്ചു മറ്റവനെ സ്നേഹിക്കും; അല്ലെങ്കില് ഒരുത്തനോടു പറ്റിച്ചേര്ന്നു മറ്റവനെ നിരസിക്കും; നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ദൈവത്തെയും മാമോനെയും സേവിപ്പാന് കഴികയില്ല.

24. No one, unto two masters, can be in service; for either, the one, he will hate, and, the other ,love, or, one, he will hold to, and, the other, despise: Ye cannot be in service, unto God, and, unto Riches.

25. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതുഎന്തു തിന്നും എന്തു കുടിക്കും എന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ ജീവന്നായിക്കൊണ്ടും എന്തു ഉടുക്കും എന്നു ശരീരത്തിന്നായിക്കൊണ്ടും വിചാരപ്പെടരുതു; ആഹാരത്തെക്കാള് ജീവനും ഉടുപ്പിനെക്കാള് ശരീരവും വലുതല്ലേയോ?

25. For this cause, I say unto you: Be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat or what ye shall drink , or for your body, what ye shall put on: Is not, the life, more than, the food? And, the body, than, the raiment?

26. ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവകളെ നോക്കുവിന് ; അവ വിതെക്കുന്നില്ല, കൊയ്യുന്നില്ല, കളപ്പുരയില് കൂട്ടിവെക്കുന്നതുമില്ല എങ്കിലും സ്വര്ഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു അവയെ പുലര്ത്തുന്നു; അവയെക്കാള് നിങ്ങള് ഏറ്റവും വിശേഷതയുള്ളവരല്ലയോ ?

26. Observe intently, the birds of the heaven, that they neither sow, nor reap, nor gather into barns, and yet, your heavenly Father, feedeth, them: Are no, ye, much better than, they?

27. വിചാരപ്പെടുന്നതിനാല് തന്റെ നീളത്തോടു ഒരു മുഴം കൂട്ടുവാന് നിങ്ങളില് ആര്ക്കും കഴിയും?

27. But who from among you, being anxious, can add to his stature one cubit?

28. ഉടുപ്പിനെക്കുറിച്ചു വിചാരപ്പെടുന്നതും എന്തു? വയലിലെ താമര എങ്ങനെ വളരുന്നു എന്നു നിരൂപിപ്പിന് ; അവ അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കുന്നില്ല, നൂലക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

28. And, about clothing, why are ye anxious? Consider well the lilies of the field, how they grow, they toil not neither do they spin;

29. എന്നാല് ശലോമോന് പോലും തന്റെ സര്വ്വ മഹത്വത്തിലും ഇവയില് ഒന്നിനോളം ചമഞ്ഞിരുന്നില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

29. And yet, I say unto you, not even Solomon, in all his glory, was arrayed like, one of these!

30. ഇന്നുള്ളതും നാളെ അടുപ്പില് ഇടുന്നതുമായ വയലിലെ പുല്ലിനെ ദൈവം ഇങ്ങനെ ചമയിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില്, അല്പവിശ്വാസികളേ, നിങ്ങളെ എത്ര അധികം.

30. Now, if the grass of the field which to-day, is, and, to-morrow, into an oven, is cast God thus adorneth, not much rather, you, little of faith?

31. ആകയാല് നാം എന്തു തിന്നും എന്തു കുടിക്കും എന്തു ഉടുക്കും എന്നിങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങള് വിചാരപ്പെടരുതു.

31. Do not then be anxious saying, What shall we eat? or What shall we drink? or Wherewithal shall we be arrayed?

32. ഈ വക ഒക്കെയും ജാതികള് അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു; സ്വര്ഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു ഇതൊക്കെയും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ആവശ്യം എന്നു അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

32. For, all these things, the nations, seek after, for your heavenly Father, knoweth, that ye are needing, all these things.

33. മുമ്പെ അവന്റെ രാജ്യവും നീതിയും അന്വേഷിപ്പിന് ; അതോടുകൂടെ ഇതൊക്കെയും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു കിട്ടും.

33. But be seeking first, the kingdom and its righteousness, and, all these things, shall be added unto you.

34. അതുകൊണ്ടു നാളെക്കായി വിചാരപ്പെടരുതു; നാളത്തെ ദിവസം തനിക്കായി വിചാരപ്പെടുമല്ലോ; അതതു ദിവസത്തിന്നു അന്നന്നത്തെ ദോഷം മതി ”

34. Do not, then, be anxious for the morrow; for the morrow, will be anxious, for itself: Sufficient for the day, is the evil thereof.
