1. “മനുഷ്യര് കാണേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ നീതിയെ അവരുടെ മുമ്പില് ചെയ്യാതിരിപ്പാന് സൂക്ഷിപ്പിന് ; അല്ലാഞ്ഞാല് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലുള്ള നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവിന്റെ പക്കല് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു പ്രതിഫലമില്ല.

1. Take heed to your alms. That ye give it not in the sight of men, to the intent that ye would be seen of them. Or else ye get no reward of your father (which is) in heaven.

2. ആകയാല് ഭിക്ഷകൊടുക്കുമ്പോള് മനുഷ്യരാല് മാനം ലഭിപ്പാന് പള്ളികളിലും വീഥികളിലും കപടഭക്തിക്കാര് ചെയ്യുന്നതുപോലെ നിന്റെ മുമ്പില് കാഹളം ഊതിക്കരുതു; അവര്ക്കും പ്രതിഫലം കിട്ടിപ്പോയി എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു

2. Whensoever therefore thou givest thine alms, thou shalt not make a trumpet to be blown before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues, and in the streets, for to be praised of men. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward.

3. നീയോ ഭിക്ഷകൊടുക്കുമ്പോള് നിന്റെ ഭിക്ഷ രഹസ്യത്തിലായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വലങ്കൈ ചെയ്യുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ഇടങ്കൈ അറിയരുതു.

3. But when thou doest thine alms, let not thy left hand know, what thy right hand doth,

4. രഹസ്യത്തില് കാണുന്ന നിന്റെ പിതാവു നിനക്കു പ്രതിഫലം തരും.

4. that thine alms may be secret, and thy father which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

5. നിങ്ങള് പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കുമ്പോള് കപടഭക്തിക്കാരെപ്പോലെ ആകരുതു; അവര് മനുഷ്യര്ക്കും വിളങ്ങേണ്ടതിന്നു പള്ളികളിലും തെരുക്കോണുകളിലും നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിപ്പാന് ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നു; അവര്ക്കും പ്രതിഫലം കിട്ടിപ്പോയി എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

5. And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues, and in the corners of the streets, because they would be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward.

6. നീയോ പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കുമ്പോള് അറയില് കടന്നു വാതില് അടെച്ചു രഹസ്യത്തിലുള്ള നിന്റെ പിതാവിനോടു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്ക; രഹസ്യത്തില് കാണുന്ന നിന്റെ പിതാവു നിനക്കു പ്രതിഫലം തരും.

6. But when thou prayest, enter into thy chamber, and shut thy door to thee, and pray to thy father which is in secret: and thy father which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

7. പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കയില് നിങ്ങള് ജാതികളെപ്പോലെ ജല്പനം ചെയ്രുതു; അതിഭാഷണത്താല് ഉത്തരം കിട്ടും എന്നല്ലോ അവര്ക്കും തോന്നുന്നതു.

7. But(And) when ye pray, babble not much, as the gentiles(heathen) do: for they think that they shall be heard, for their much babbling's sake.

8. അവരോടു തുല്യരാകരുതു; നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ആവശ്യമുള്ളതു ഇന്നതെന്നു നിങ്ങള് യാചിക്കുംമുമ്പെ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

8. Be ye not like them therefore. For your father knoweth whereof ye have need, before ye ask of him.

9. നിങ്ങള് ഈവണ്ണം പ്രാര്ത്ഥിപ്പിന് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവേ, നിന്റെ നാമം വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെടേണമേ;

9. After this manner therefore pray ye. O our father, which art in heaven hallowed be thy name.

10. നിന്റെ രാജ്യം വരേണമേ; നിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലെപ്പോലെ ഭൂമിയിലും ആകേണമേ;

10. Let thy kingdom come. Thy will be fulfilled, as well in earth, as it is in heaven.

11. ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു ആവശ്യമുള്ള ആഹാരം ഇന്നു തരേണമേ;

11. Give us this day our daily bread.

12. ഞങ്ങളുടെ കടക്കാരോടു ഞങ്ങള് ക്ഷിമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഞങ്ങളുടെ കടങ്ങളെ ഞങ്ങളോടും ക്ഷമിക്കേണമേ;

12. And forgive us our trespasses,(debts) even as we forgive them which trespass us.(our trespassers.)(our debtors)

13. ഞങ്ങളെ പരീക്ഷയില് കടത്താതെ ദുഷ്ടങ്കല്നിന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ വിടുവിക്കേണമേ. രാജ്യവും ശക്തിയും മഹത്വവും എന്നേക്കും നിനക്കുള്ളതല്ലോ.

13. (And) Lead us not in to temptation: but deliver us from evil, For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory for ever. Amen.

14. നിങ്ങള് മനുഷ്യരോടു അവരുടെ പിഴകളെ ക്ഷമിച്ചാല്, സ്വര്ഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു നിങ്ങളോടും ക്ഷമിക്കും.

14. For and if ye shall forgive other men their trespasses, your (heavenly) father in heaven shall also forgive you. (your trespasses)

15. നിങ്ങള് മനുഷ്യരോടു പിഴകളെ ക്ഷമിക്കാഞ്ഞാലോ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു നിങ്ങളുടെ പിഴകളെയും ക്ഷമിക്കയില്ല.

15. But and ye will not forgive men their trespasses, no more shall, your father forgive your trespasses.

16. ഉപവസിക്കുമ്പോള് നിങ്ങള് കപടഭക്തിക്കാരെപ്പോലെ വാടിയ മുഖം കാണിക്കരുതു; അവര് ഉപവസിക്കുന്നതു മനുഷ്യര്ക്കും വിളങ്ങേണ്ടതിന്നു മുഖം വിരൂപമാക്കുന്നു; അവര്ക്കും പ്രതിഫലം കിട്ടിപ്പോയി എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
യെശയ്യാ 58:5

16. Moreover when ye fast, be not sad as the hypocrites are. For they disfigure their faces, that it(they) might appear unto men(be seen of men how) that they fast. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward.

17. നീയോ ഉപവസിക്കുമ്പോള് നിന്റെ ഉപവാസം മനുഷ്യര്ക്കല്ല രഹസ്യത്തിലുള്ള നിന്റെ പിതാവിന്നു വിളങ്ങേണ്ടതിന്നു തലയില് എണ്ണ തേച്ചു മുഖം കഴുകുക.

17. But thou when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face,

18. രഹസ്യത്തില് കാണുന്ന നിന്റെ പിതാവു നിനക്കു പ്രതിഫലം നലകും.

18. that it appear not unto men how that thou fastest: but unto thy father which is in secret: and thy father which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

19. പുഴുവും തുരുമ്പും കെടുക്കയും കള്ളന്മാര് തുരന്നു മോഷ്ടിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ഈ ഭൂമിയില് നിങ്ങള് നിക്ഷേപം സ്വരൂപിക്കരുതു.

19. (See that ye) Gather not treasure together on(upon the) earth, where rust and moths corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal.

20. പുഴുവും തുരുമ്പും കെടുക്കാതെയും കള്ളന്മാര് തുരന്നു മോഷ്ടിക്കാതെയുമിരിക്കുന്ന സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് നിക്ഷേപം സ്വരൂപിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് .

20. But gather ye treasures together in heaven, where neither rust, nor yet moths corrupt: and where thieves neither break up, nor yet steal.

21. നിന്റെ നിക്ഷേപം ഉള്ളേടത്തു നിന്റെ ഹൃദയവും ഇരിക്കും.

21. For wheresoever your treasure is, there are your hearts also.(there will your hears be also.)

22. ശരീരത്തിന്റെ വിളകൂ കണ്ണു ആകുന്നു; കണ്ണു ചൊവ്വുള്ളതെങ്കില് നിന്റെ ശരീരം മുഴുവനും പ്രകാശിതമായിരിക്കും.

22. The light of the body is thine eye. Wherefore if thine eye be single, all thy body is(all body shall be) full of light.

23. കണ്ണു കേടുള്ളതെങ്കിലോ നിന്റെ ശരീരം മുഴുവനും ഇരുണ്ടതായിരിക്കും; എന്നാല് നിന്നിലുള്ള വെളിച്ചം ഇരുട്ടായാല് ഇരുട്ടു എത്ര വലിയതു!

23. But and if thine eye be wicked, then is all thy body(shall be) full of darkness. Wherefore if the light that is in thee, be darkness: how great is that darkness?

24. രണ്ടു യജമാനന്മാരെ സേവിപ്പാന് ആര്ക്കുംകഴികയില്ല; അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്താല് ഒരുത്തനെ പകെച്ചു മറ്റവനെ സ്നേഹിക്കും; അല്ലെങ്കില് ഒരുത്തനോടു പറ്റിച്ചേര്ന്നു മറ്റവനെ നിരസിക്കും; നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ദൈവത്തെയും മാമോനെയും സേവിപ്പാന് കഴികയില്ല.

24. No man can serve two masters. For either he shall hate the one, and love the other: or else he shall lean to the one, and despise that(the) other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

25. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതുഎന്തു തിന്നും എന്തു കുടിക്കും എന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ ജീവന്നായിക്കൊണ്ടും എന്തു ഉടുക്കും എന്നു ശരീരത്തിന്നായിക്കൊണ്ടും വിചാരപ്പെടരുതു; ആഹാരത്തെക്കാള് ജീവനും ഉടുപ്പിനെക്കാള് ശരീരവും വലുതല്ലേയോ?

25. Therefore I say unto you, be not careful(carefull) for your life what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, nor yet for your body, what raiment ye shall wear.(put on.) Is not the life more worth than meat? and the body more of value than raiment?

26. ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവകളെ നോക്കുവിന് ; അവ വിതെക്കുന്നില്ല, കൊയ്യുന്നില്ല, കളപ്പുരയില് കൂട്ടിവെക്കുന്നതുമില്ല എങ്കിലും സ്വര്ഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു അവയെ പുലര്ത്തുന്നു; അവയെക്കാള് നിങ്ങള് ഏറ്റവും വിശേഷതയുള്ളവരല്ലയോ ?

26. Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither reap, nor yet carry into the barns, and yet your heavenly father feedeth them. Are ye not (much) better than they?

27. വിചാരപ്പെടുന്നതിനാല് തന്റെ നീളത്തോടു ഒരു മുഴം കൂട്ടുവാന് നിങ്ങളില് ആര്ക്കും കഴിയും?

27. Which of you (though he took thought therefore) could put one cubit unto his stature?

28. ഉടുപ്പിനെക്കുറിച്ചു വിചാരപ്പെടുന്നതും എന്തു? വയലിലെ താമര എങ്ങനെ വളരുന്നു എന്നു നിരൂപിപ്പിന് ; അവ അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കുന്നില്ല, നൂലക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

28. And why care ye then for raiment? Behold(Consider) the lilies of the field, how they grow. They labor not, neither spin.

29. എന്നാല് ശലോമോന് പോലും തന്റെ സര്വ്വ മഹത്വത്തിലും ഇവയില് ഒന്നിനോളം ചമഞ്ഞിരുന്നില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

29. And yet for all that I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his royalty, was not arrayed like unto one of these.

30. ഇന്നുള്ളതും നാളെ അടുപ്പില് ഇടുന്നതുമായ വയലിലെ പുല്ലിനെ ദൈവം ഇങ്ങനെ ചമയിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില്, അല്പവിശ്വാസികളേ, നിങ്ങളെ എത്ര അധികം.

30. Wherefore if God so clothe the grass, which is today in the field, and tomorrow shall be cast into the furnace: shall he not much more do the same unto you, O ye of little faith?

31. ആകയാല് നാം എന്തു തിന്നും എന്തു കുടിക്കും എന്തു ഉടുക്കും എന്നിങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങള് വിചാരപ്പെടരുതു.

31. Therefore take no thought saying: what shall we eat, or what shall we drink, or wherewith shall we be clothed?

32. ഈ വക ഒക്കെയും ജാതികള് അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു; സ്വര്ഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു ഇതൊക്കെയും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ആവശ്യം എന്നു അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

32. (After all these things seek the gentiles) For your heavenly father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33. മുമ്പെ അവന്റെ രാജ്യവും നീതിയും അന്വേഷിപ്പിന് ; അതോടുകൂടെ ഇതൊക്കെയും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു കിട്ടും.
സങ്കീർത്തനങ്ങൾ 37:4

33. But rather seek ye first the kingdom of heaven, and the righteousness thereof, and all these things shall be ministered unto you.

34. അതുകൊണ്ടു നാളെക്കായി വിചാരപ്പെടരുതു; നാളത്തെ ദിവസം തനിക്കായി വിചാരപ്പെടുമല്ലോ; അതതു ദിവസത്തിന്നു അന്നന്നത്തെ ദോഷം മതി ”
പുറപ്പാടു് 16:4

34. Care not therefore for the day following.(morrow) For the day following(morrow) shall care for itself. Each days trouble is sufficient for the same self day.(Care not therefore then for the morrow, but let the morrow care of itself: for the day present hath ever enough of his own travail.)
