1. അവിടെ നിന്നു അവന് പുറപ്പെട്ടു യോര്ദ്ദാന്നക്കരെ യെഹൂദ്യദേശത്തിന്റെ അതിരോളം ചെന്നു; പുരുഷാരം പിന്നെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു കൂടി, പതിവുപോലെ അവന് അവരെ പിന്നെയും ഉപദേശിച്ചു.

1. And, from thence, arising, he cometh into the bounds of Judaea and beyond the Jordan, and there come together again, multitudes unto him, and, as he had been wont, again, was he teaching them.

2. അപ്പോള് പരീശന്മാര് അടുക്കെ വന്നുഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നതു പുരുഷന്നു വിഹിതമോ എന്നു അവനെ പരീക്ഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

2. And Pharisees coming near were questioning him whether it is allowed a husband to divorce a wife, testing him.

3. അവന് അവരോടുമോശെ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എന്തു കല്പന തന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

3. But, he, answering, said unto them What unto you did, Moses, command?

4. ഉപേക്ഷണപത്രം എഴുതിക്കൊടുത്തു അവളെ ഉപേക്ഷിപ്പാന് മോശെ അനുവദിച്ചു എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

4. And, they, said Moses permitted, to write, a roll of dismissal, and to divorce.

5. യേശു അവരോടുനിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയകാഠിന്യം നിമിത്തമത്രേ അവന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഈ കല്പന എഴുതിത്തന്നതു.

5. But, Jesus, said unto them In view of your hardness of heart, wrote he for you this commandment;

6. സൃഷ്ടിയുടെ ആരംഭത്തിങ്കലോ ദൈവം അവരെ ആണും പെണ്ണുമായി ഉണ്ടാക്കി.

6. But, from the beginning of creation, male and female, made he them ;

7. അതുകൊണ്ടു മനുഷ്യന് അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും വിട്ടു ഭാര്യയോടു പറ്റിച്ചേരും;

7. For this cause, shall a man leave behind his father and mother,

8. ഇരുവരും ഒരു ദേഹമായിത്തീരും; അങ്ങനെ അവര് പിന്നെ രണ്ടല്ല ഒരു ദേഹമത്രേ.

8. and, the two, shall become, one flesh; so that, no longer, are they two, but, one flesh.

9. ആകയാല് ദൈവം യോജിപ്പിച്ചതിനെ മനുഷ്യന് വേര്പിരിക്കരുതു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

9. What then, God, hath yoked together, let, a man, not put asunder.

10. വീട്ടില് വെച്ചു ശിഷ്യന്മാര് പിന്നെയും അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

10. And, coming into the house again, the disciples, concerning this, were questioning him;

11. അവന് അവരോടുഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു മറ്റൊരുത്തിയെ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുന്നവന് അവള്ക്കു വിരോധമായി വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

11. and he saith unto them Whosoever shall divorce his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her;

12. സ്ത്രീയും ഭര്ത്താവിനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു മറ്റൊരുത്തനുമായി വിവാഹം കഴിഞ്ഞാല് വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

12. And, if, she, divorcing her husband, marry another, she committeth adultery.

13. അവന് തൊടേണ്ടതിന്നു ചിലര് ശിശുക്കളെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; ശിഷ്യന്മാരോ അവരെ ശാസിച്ചു.

13. And they were bringing unto him children, that he might, touch, them, the disciples, however, were rebuking them.

14. യേശു അതു കണ്ടാറെ മുഷിഞ്ഞു അവരോടുശിശുക്കളെ എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരുവാന് വിടുവിന് ; അവരെ തടുക്കരുതു; ദൈവരാജ്യം ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ളവരുടെതല്ലോ.

14. But Jesus, seeing it, was greatly displeased, and said unto them Suffer the children to come unto me, do not hinder them; for, of such, is the kingdom of God.

15. ദൈവരാജ്യത്തെ ശിശു എന്നപോലെ കൈക്കൊള്ളാത്തവന് ആരും ഒരുനാളും അതില് കടക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. Verily, I say unto you Whosoever shall not welcome the kingdom of God, as a child, in nowise shall enter thereinto.

16. പിന്നെ അവന് അവരെ അണെച്ചു അവരുടെ മേല് കൈ വെച്ചു, അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

16. And, folding them in his arms, he was blessing them, having laid his hands upon them.

17. അവന് പുറപ്പെട്ടു യാത്രചെയ്യുമ്പോള് ഒരുവന് ഔടിവന്നു അവന്റെ മുമ്പില് മുട്ടുകുത്തിനല്ല ഗുരോ, നിത്യജീവനെ അവകാശം ആക്കുവാന് ഞാന് എന്തു ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

17. And, as he was going forth into a road, one, running, and kneeling before him, was questioning him Good Teacher! what shall I do that, life age abiding, I may inherit?

18. അതിന്നു യേശുഎന്നെ നല്ലവന് എന്നു പറയുന്നതു എന്തു? ദൈവം ഒരുവന് അല്ലാതെ നല്ലവന് ആരുമില്ല.

18. And, Jesus, said unto him Why callest thou me, good? None, is good, save one God.

19. കുലചെയ്യരുതു, വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യരുതു, മോഷ്ടിക്കരുതു, കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷ്യം പറയരുതു, ചതിക്കരുതു, നിന്റെ അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും ബഹുമാനിക്ക എന്നീ കല്പനകളെ നീ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

19. The commandments, thou knowest, Do not commit murder, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal; Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honour thy father and mother.

20. അവന് അവനോടുഗുരോ, ഇതു ഒക്കെയും ഞാന് ചെറുപ്പം മുതല് പ്രമാണിച്ചുപോരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

20. And, he, said unto him Teacher! all these things, have I kept, from my youth.

21. യേശു അവനെ നോക്കി അവനെ സ്നേഹിച്ചുഒരു കുറവു നിനക്കുണ്ടു; നീ പോയി നിനക്കുള്ളതു എല്ലാം വിറ്റു ദരിദ്രര്ക്കും കൊടുക്ക; എന്നാല് നിനക്കു സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് നിക്ഷേപം ഉണ്ടാകും; പിന്നെ വന്നു എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

21. And, Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said unto him One thing, unto thee, is wanting; Withdraw! whatsoever thou hast, sell, and give unto the destitute, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come! be following me.

22. അവന് വളരെ സമ്പത്തുള്ളവന് ആകകൊണ്ടു ഈ വചനത്തിങ്കല് വിഷാദിച്ചു ദുഃഖിതനായി പൊയ്ക്കളഞ്ഞു.

22. And, he, becoming gloomy because of the word, departed sorrowing, for he was holding, many possessions.

23. യേശു ചുറ്റും നോക്കി തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടുസമ്പത്തുള്ളവര് ദൈവരാജ്യത്തില് കടക്കുന്നതു എത്ര പ്രയാസം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

23. And, looking around, Jesus saith unto his disciples With what difficulty, shall, they who have money, enter, into the kingdom of God!

24. അവന്റെ ഈ വാക്കിനാല് ശിഷ്യന്മാര് വിസ്മയിച്ചു; എന്നാല് യേശു പിന്നെയുംമക്കളേ, സമ്പത്തില് ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവര് ദൈവരാജ്യത്തില് കടക്കുന്നതു എത്ര പ്രയാസം.
യെശയ്യാ 52:14

24. And, the disciples, were in amazement, because of the words. But, Jesus, again answering, saith unto them Children! how difficult, it is, to enter, into the kingdom of God!

25. ധനവാന് ദൈവരാജ്യത്തില് കടക്കുന്നതിനെക്കാള് ഒട്ടകം സൂചിക്കുഴയൂടെ കടക്കുന്നതു എളുപ്പം എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

25. It is, easier, for a camel, through the eye of a needle, to pass, than for, a rich man, into the kingdom of God, to enter.

26. അവര് ഏറ്റവും വിസ്മയിച്ചുഎന്നാല് രക്ഷപ്രാപിപ്പാന് ആര്ക്കും കഴിയും എന്നു തമ്മില് തമ്മില് പറഞ്ഞു.

26. And, they, were being exceedingly struck with astonishment, saying unto him Who, then, can, be saved?

27. യേശു അവരെ നോക്കി; മനുഷ്യര്ക്കും അസാദ്ധ്യം തന്നേ, ദൈവത്തിന്നു അല്ലതാനും; ദൈവത്തിന്നു സകലവും സാദ്ധ്യമല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

27. Looking at them, Jesus saith With men, impossible, but not, with God; for, all things, are possible, with God

28. പത്രൊസ് അവനോടുഇതാ, ഞങ്ങള് സകലവും വിട്ടു നിന്നെ അനുഗമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുതുടങ്ങി.

28. Peter began to be saying unto him Lo! we, have left all, and followed thee!

29. അതിന്നു യേശുഎന്റെ നിമിത്തവും സുവിശേഷം നിമിത്തവും സുവിശേഷം നിമിത്തവും വീടോ സഹോദരന്മാരെയോ സഹോദരികളെയോ അമ്മയെയോ അപ്പനെയോ മക്കളെയോ നിലങ്ങളെയോ വിട്ടാല്,

29. Jesus said Verily, I say unto you There is, no one, who hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or mother, or father, or children, or lands, for the sake of me, and for the sake of the glad-message,

30. ഈ ലോകത്തില് തന്നേ, ഉപദ്രവങ്ങളോടും കൂടെ നൂറു മടങ്ങു വീടുകളെയും സഹോദരന്മാരെയും സഹോദരികളെയും അമ്മമാരെയും മക്കളെയും നിലങ്ങളെയും വരുവാനുള്ള ലോകത്തില് നിത്യജീവനെയും പ്രാപിക്കാത്തവന് ആരുമില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

30. who shall not receive a hundredfold, now, in this season, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions, and, in the age that is coming, life age-abiding.

31. എങ്കിലും മുമ്പന്മാര് പലരും പിമ്പന്മാരും പിമ്പന്മാര് മുമ്പന്മാരും ആകും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

31. But, many, shall be first-last, and the Last-first.

32. അവര് യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു യാത്രചെയ്കയായിരുന്നു; യേശു അവര്ക്കും മുമ്പായി നടന്നു; അവര് വിസ്മയിച്ചു; അനുഗമിക്കുന്നവരോ ദയപ്പെട്ടു. അവന് പിന്നെയും പന്തിരുവരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു അവരോടു

32. Now they were in the way, going up unto Jerusalem, and Jesus was going on before them, and they were in amazement; and, they who followed, were in fear. And, taking unto himself, again, the twelve, he began to be saying unto them, as to the things about to befall him

33. ഇതാ, നാം യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു പോകുന്നു; അവിടെ മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെയും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരുടെയും കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെടും; അവര് അവനെ മരണത്തിനു വിധിച്ചു ജാതികള്ക്കു ഏല്പിക്കും.

33. Lo! we are going up unto Jerusalem; and, the Son of Man, will be delivered up, unto the Chief-priests and the Scribes, and they will condemn him to death, and deliver him up unto the nations;

34. അവര് അവനെ പരിഹസിക്കയും തുപ്പുകയും തല്ലുകയും കൊല്ലുകയും മൂന്നു നാള് കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന് ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്ക്കയും ചെയ്യും എന്നിങ്ങനെ തനിക്കു സംഭവിക്കാനുള്ളതു പറഞ്ഞു തുടങ്ങി.

34. And they will mock him, and spit upon him, and scourge him, and, slay; and, after three days, will he, arise.

35. സെബെദിയുടെ മക്കളായ യാക്കോബും യോഹന്നാനും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു അവനോടുഗുരോ, ഞങ്ങള് നിന്നോടു യാചിപ്പാന് പോകുന്നതു ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു ചെയ്തുതരുവാന് അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

35. And there come near unto him, James and John, the two sons of Zebedee, saying unto him Teacher! we desire, that, whatsoever we shall ask thee, thou wilt do for us.

36. അവന് അവരോടുഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എന്തു ചെയ്തുതരുവാന് നിങ്ങള് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

36. But, he, said unto them What desire ye, I should do for you?

37. നിന്റെ മഹത്വത്തില് ഞങ്ങളില് ഒരുത്തന് നിന്റെ വലത്തും ഒരുത്തന് ഇടത്തും ഇരിക്കാന് വരം നല്കേണം എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

37. And, they, said unto him Grant us, that, one on thy right hand, and one on thy left, we may sit, in thy glory.

38. യേശു അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് യാചിക്കുന്നതു ഇന്നതു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നില്ല; ഞാന് കുടിക്കുന്നപാന പാത്രം കുടിപ്പാനും ഞാന് ഏലക്കുന്ന സ്നാനം ഏല്പാനും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു കഴിയുമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു കഴിയും എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

38. But, Jesus, said unto them Ye know not what ye are asking: Are ye able to drink the cup that, I, am to drink? or to be immersed, with the immersion wherewith, I, am to be immersed?

39. യേശു അവരോടുഞാന് കുടിക്കുന്ന പാനപാത്രം നിങ്ങള് കുടിക്കയും ഞാന് ഏലക്കുന്ന സ്നാനം ഏല്ക്കയും ചെയ്യും നിശ്ചയം.

39. And, they, said unto him We are able. And, Jesus, said unto them The cup which, I, am to drink, ye shall drink, and, with the immersion wherewith, I, am to be immersed, shall ye be immersed;

40. എന്റെ വലത്തും ഇടത്തും ഇരിപ്പാന് വരം നലകുന്നതോ എന്റേതല്ല; ആര്ക്കും ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നുവോ അവര്ക്കും കിട്ടും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

40. But, to sit on my right hand and on my left, is not mine to give, except unto them for whom it hath been prepared.

41. അതു ശേഷം പത്തു പേരും കേട്ടിട്ടു യാക്കോബിനോടും യോഹന്നാനോടും നീരസപ്പെട്ടുതുടങ്ങി.

41. And the ten, hearing, began to be sorely displeased, concerning James and John.

42. യേശു അവരെ അടുക്കെ വിളിച്ചു അവരോടുജാതികളില് അധിപതികളായവര് അവരില് കര്ത്തൃത്വം ചെയ്യുന്നു; അവരില് മഹത്തുക്കളായവര് അവരുടെ മേല് അധികാരം നടത്തുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നു.

42. And Jesus, calling them near, saith unto them Ye know that, they who think to rule the nations, lord it over them, and, their great ones, wield authority over them;

43. നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് അങ്ങനെ അരുതു; നിങ്ങളില് മഹാന് ആകുവാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവന് എല്ലാം നിങ്ങളുടെ ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരന് ആകേണം;

43. But, not so, it is, among you. But, whosoever desireth to become, great, among you, shall be, your minister,

44. നിങ്ങളില് ഒന്നാമന് ആകുവാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവന് എല്ലാവര്ക്കും ദാസനാകേണം.

44. And, whosoever desireth, among you, to be, first, shall be, servant of all;

45. മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്യിപ്പാനല്ല, ശുശ്രൂഷിപ്പാനും അനേകര്ക്കുംവേണ്ടി തന്റെ ജീവനെ മറുവിലയായി കൊടുപ്പാനും അത്രെ വന്നതു.

45. For, even the Son of Man, came not to be ministered unto, but minister, and to give his life, a ransom instead of many.

46. അവര് യെരീഹോവില് എത്തി; പിന്നെ അവന് ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു വലിയ പുരുഷാരത്തോടും കൂടെ യെരീഹോവില് നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുമ്പോള് തിമായിയുടെ മകനായ ബര്ത്തിമായി എന്ന കുരുടനായ ഒരു ഭിക്ഷക്കാരന് വഴിയരികെ ഇരുന്നിരുന്നു.

46. And they come into Jericho. And, as he was journeying forth from Jericho, and his disciples, and a considerable multitude, the son of Timaeus, blind Bar-Timaeus, a beggar, was sitting beside the road.

47. നസറായനായ യേശു എന്നു കേട്ടിട്ടു അവന് ദാവീദ് പുത്രാ, യേശുവേ, എന്നോടു കരുണ തോന്നേണമേ എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.

47. And, hearing that it was, Jesus the Nazarene, he began to be crying aloud, and saying O Son of David! Jesus! have mercy on me.

48. മിണ്ടാതിരിപ്പാന് പലരും അവനെ ശാസിച്ചിട്ടുംദാവീദുപുത്രാ, എന്നോടു കരുണ തോന്നേണമേ എന്നു അവന് ഏറ്റവും അധികം നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

48. And many were rebuking him, that he might hold his peace; but, he, so much the more, was crying aloud, O Son of David, have mercy on me.

49. അപ്പോള് യേശു നിന്നുഅവനെ വിളിപ്പിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ധൈര്യപ്പെടുക, എഴുന്നേല്ക്ക, നിന്നെ വിളിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു കുരുടനെ വിളിച്ചു.

49. And, coming to a stand, Jesus said Call him! And they call the blind man, saying unto him Take courage! rise! he calleth thee!

50. അവന് തന്റെ പുതപ്പു ഇട്ടും കളഞ്ഞു ചാടിയെഴുന്നേറ്റു യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു.

50. And, he, throwing off his mantle springing to his feet, came unto Jesus.

51. യേശു അവനോടുഞാന് നിനക്കു എന്തു ചെയ്തുതരേണമെന്നു നീ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുറബ്ബൂനീ, എനിക്കു കാഴ്ച പ്രാപിക്കേണമെന്നു കുരുടന് അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

51. And, answering him, Jesus said What desirest thou, I should do for thee? And, the blind man, said unto him Rabboni! that may recover sight.

52. യേശു അവനോടുപോക; നിന്റെ വിശ്വാസം നിന്നെ രക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഉടനെ അവന് കാഴ്ച പ്രാപിച്ചു യാത്രയില് അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.

52. And, Jesus, said unto him Go thy way! thy faith, hath saved thee. And, straightway, he recovered sight, and was following him in the road.
