1. അവിടെ നിന്നു അവന് പുറപ്പെട്ടു യോര്ദ്ദാന്നക്കരെ യെഹൂദ്യദേശത്തിന്റെ അതിരോളം ചെന്നു; പുരുഷാരം പിന്നെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു കൂടി, പതിവുപോലെ അവന് അവരെ പിന്നെയും ഉപദേശിച്ചു.

1. And he got up, and went into the country of Judaea on the other side of Jordan: and great numbers of people came together to him again; and, as was his way, he gave them teaching.

2. അപ്പോള് പരീശന്മാര് അടുക്കെ വന്നുഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നതു പുരുഷന്നു വിഹിതമോ എന്നു അവനെ പരീക്ഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

2. And Pharisees came to him, testing him with the question, Is it right for a man to put away his wife?

3. അവന് അവരോടുമോശെ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എന്തു കല്പന തന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

3. And he said to them in answer, What did Moses say you were to do?

4. ഉപേക്ഷണപത്രം എഴുതിക്കൊടുത്തു അവളെ ഉപേക്ഷിപ്പാന് മോശെ അനുവദിച്ചു എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

4. And they said to him, Moses let us give her a statement in writing, and be free from her.

5. യേശു അവരോടുനിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയകാഠിന്യം നിമിത്തമത്രേ അവന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഈ കല്പന എഴുതിത്തന്നതു.

5. But Jesus said to them, Because of your hard hearts he gave you this law.

6. സൃഷ്ടിയുടെ ആരംഭത്തിങ്കലോ ദൈവം അവരെ ആണും പെണ്ണുമായി ഉണ്ടാക്കി.

6. But from the first, male and female made he them.

7. അതുകൊണ്ടു മനുഷ്യന് അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും വിട്ടു ഭാര്യയോടു പറ്റിച്ചേരും;

7. For this cause will a man go away from his father and mother, and be joined to his wife;

8. ഇരുവരും ഒരു ദേഹമായിത്തീരും; അങ്ങനെ അവര് പിന്നെ രണ്ടല്ല ഒരു ദേഹമത്രേ.

8. And the two will become one flesh; so that they are no longer two, but one flesh.

9. ആകയാല് ദൈവം യോജിപ്പിച്ചതിനെ മനുഷ്യന് വേര്പിരിക്കരുതു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

9. Let not that which has been joined together by God be parted by man.

10. വീട്ടില് വെച്ചു ശിഷ്യന്മാര് പിന്നെയും അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

10. And in the house the disciples put questions to him again about this thing.

11. അവന് അവരോടുഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു മറ്റൊരുത്തിയെ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുന്നവന് അവള്ക്കു വിരോധമായി വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

11. And he said to them, Whoever puts away his wife and takes another, is false to his wife;

12. സ്ത്രീയും ഭര്ത്താവിനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു മറ്റൊരുത്തനുമായി വിവാഹം കഴിഞ്ഞാല് വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

12. And if she herself puts away her husband and takes another, she is false to her husband.

13. അവന് തൊടേണ്ടതിന്നു ചിലര് ശിശുക്കളെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; ശിഷ്യന്മാരോ അവരെ ശാസിച്ചു.

13. And they took to him little children, so that he might put his hands on them: and the disciples said sharp words to them.

14. യേശു അതു കണ്ടാറെ മുഷിഞ്ഞു അവരോടുശിശുക്കളെ എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരുവാന് വിടുവിന് ; അവരെ തടുക്കരുതു; ദൈവരാജ്യം ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ളവരുടെതല്ലോ.

14. And when Jesus saw it, he was angry, and said to them, Let the little children come to me, and do not keep them away; for of such is the kingdom of God.

15. ദൈവരാജ്യത്തെ ശിശു എന്നപോലെ കൈക്കൊള്ളാത്തവന് ആരും ഒരുനാളും അതില് കടക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. Truly I say to you, Whoever does not put himself under the kingdom of God like a little child, will not come into it at all.

16. പിന്നെ അവന് അവരെ അണെച്ചു അവരുടെ മേല് കൈ വെച്ചു, അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

16. And he took them in his arms, and gave them a blessing, putting his hands on them.

17. അവന് പുറപ്പെട്ടു യാത്രചെയ്യുമ്പോള് ഒരുവന് ഔടിവന്നു അവന്റെ മുമ്പില് മുട്ടുകുത്തിനല്ല ഗുരോ, നിത്യജീവനെ അവകാശം ആക്കുവാന് ഞാന് എന്തു ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

17. And while he was going out into the way, a man came running to him, and went down on his knees, saying, Good Master, what have I to do so that I may have eternal life?

18. അതിന്നു യേശുഎന്നെ നല്ലവന് എന്നു പറയുന്നതു എന്തു? ദൈവം ഒരുവന് അല്ലാതെ നല്ലവന് ആരുമില്ല.

18. And Jesus said to him, Why do you say I am good? no one is good but one, and that is God.

19. കുലചെയ്യരുതു, വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യരുതു, മോഷ്ടിക്കരുതു, കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷ്യം പറയരുതു, ചതിക്കരുതു, നിന്റെ അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും ബഹുമാനിക്ക എന്നീ കല്പനകളെ നീ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

19. You have knowledge of what is said in the law, Do not put any one to death, Do not be untrue in married life, Do not take what is not yours, Do not give false witness, Do not get money by deceit, Give honour to your father and mother.

20. അവന് അവനോടുഗുരോ, ഇതു ഒക്കെയും ഞാന് ചെറുപ്പം മുതല് പ്രമാണിച്ചുപോരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

20. And he said to him, Master, all these laws I have kept from the time when I was young.

21. യേശു അവനെ നോക്കി അവനെ സ്നേഹിച്ചുഒരു കുറവു നിനക്കുണ്ടു; നീ പോയി നിനക്കുള്ളതു എല്ലാം വിറ്റു ദരിദ്രര്ക്കും കൊടുക്ക; എന്നാല് നിനക്കു സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് നിക്ഷേപം ഉണ്ടാകും; പിന്നെ വന്നു എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

21. And Jesus, looking on him and loving him, said, There is one thing needed: go, get money for your goods, and give it to the poor, and you will have wealth in heaven: and come with me.

22. അവന് വളരെ സമ്പത്തുള്ളവന് ആകകൊണ്ടു ഈ വചനത്തിങ്കല് വിഷാദിച്ചു ദുഃഖിതനായി പൊയ്ക്കളഞ്ഞു.

22. But his face became sad at the saying, and he went away sorrowing: for he was one who had much property.

23. യേശു ചുറ്റും നോക്കി തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടുസമ്പത്തുള്ളവര് ദൈവരാജ്യത്തില് കടക്കുന്നതു എത്ര പ്രയാസം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

23. And Jesus, looking round about, said to his disciples, How hard it is for those who have wealth to come into the kingdom of God!

24. അവന്റെ ഈ വാക്കിനാല് ശിഷ്യന്മാര് വിസ്മയിച്ചു; എന്നാല് യേശു പിന്നെയുംമക്കളേ, സമ്പത്തില് ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവര് ദൈവരാജ്യത്തില് കടക്കുന്നതു എത്ര പ്രയാസം.
യെശയ്യാ 52:14

24. And the disciples were full of wonder at his words. But Jesus said to them again, Children, how hard it is for those who put faith in wealth to come into the kingdom of God!

25. ധനവാന് ദൈവരാജ്യത്തില് കടക്കുന്നതിനെക്കാള് ഒട്ടകം സൂചിക്കുഴയൂടെ കടക്കുന്നതു എളുപ്പം എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

25. It is simpler for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a man of wealth to come into the kingdom of God.

26. അവര് ഏറ്റവും വിസ്മയിച്ചുഎന്നാല് രക്ഷപ്രാപിപ്പാന് ആര്ക്കും കഴിയും എന്നു തമ്മില് തമ്മില് പറഞ്ഞു.

26. And they were greatly surprised, saying to him, Who then may have salvation?

27. യേശു അവരെ നോക്കി; മനുഷ്യര്ക്കും അസാദ്ധ്യം തന്നേ, ദൈവത്തിന്നു അല്ലതാനും; ദൈവത്തിന്നു സകലവും സാദ്ധ്യമല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

27. Jesus, looking on them, said, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for all things are possible with God.

28. പത്രൊസ് അവനോടുഇതാ, ഞങ്ങള് സകലവും വിട്ടു നിന്നെ അനുഗമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുതുടങ്ങി.

28. Peter said to him, See, we have given up everything, and come after you.

29. അതിന്നു യേശുഎന്റെ നിമിത്തവും സുവിശേഷം നിമിത്തവും സുവിശേഷം നിമിത്തവും വീടോ സഹോദരന്മാരെയോ സഹോദരികളെയോ അമ്മയെയോ അപ്പനെയോ മക്കളെയോ നിലങ്ങളെയോ വിട്ടാല്,

29. Jesus said, Truly I say to you, There is no man who has given up house, or brothers, or sisters, or mother, or father, or children, or land, because of me and the good news,

30. ഈ ലോകത്തില് തന്നേ, ഉപദ്രവങ്ങളോടും കൂടെ നൂറു മടങ്ങു വീടുകളെയും സഹോദരന്മാരെയും സഹോദരികളെയും അമ്മമാരെയും മക്കളെയും നിലങ്ങളെയും വരുവാനുള്ള ലോകത്തില് നിത്യജീവനെയും പ്രാപിക്കാത്തവന് ആരുമില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

30. Who will not get a hundred times as much now in this time, houses, and brothers, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and land -- though with great troubles; and, in the world to come, eternal life.

31. എങ്കിലും മുമ്പന്മാര് പലരും പിമ്പന്മാരും പിമ്പന്മാര് മുമ്പന്മാരും ആകും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

31. But a great number who are first will be last: and those who are last will be first.

32. അവര് യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു യാത്രചെയ്കയായിരുന്നു; യേശു അവര്ക്കും മുമ്പായി നടന്നു; അവര് വിസ്മയിച്ചു; അനുഗമിക്കുന്നവരോ ദയപ്പെട്ടു. അവന് പിന്നെയും പന്തിരുവരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു അവരോടു

32. And they were on the way, going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus was going before them: and they were full of wonder; but those who came after him were in fear. And again he took the twelve, and gave them word of the things which were to come on him,

33. ഇതാ, നാം യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു പോകുന്നു; അവിടെ മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെയും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരുടെയും കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെടും; അവര് അവനെ മരണത്തിനു വിധിച്ചു ജാതികള്ക്കു ഏല്പിക്കും.

33. Saying, See, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man will be given up to the chief priests and the scribes; and they will give an order for his death, and will give him up to the Gentiles:

34. അവര് അവനെ പരിഹസിക്കയും തുപ്പുകയും തല്ലുകയും കൊല്ലുകയും മൂന്നു നാള് കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന് ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്ക്കയും ചെയ്യും എന്നിങ്ങനെ തനിക്കു സംഭവിക്കാനുള്ളതു പറഞ്ഞു തുടങ്ങി.

34. And they will make sport of him, and put shame on him, and give him cruel blows, and will put him to death; and after three days he will come back from the dead.

35. സെബെദിയുടെ മക്കളായ യാക്കോബും യോഹന്നാനും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു അവനോടുഗുരോ, ഞങ്ങള് നിന്നോടു യാചിപ്പാന് പോകുന്നതു ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു ചെയ്തുതരുവാന് അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

35. And there came to him James and John, the sons of Zebedee, saying to him, Master, will you give us whatever may be our request?

36. അവന് അവരോടുഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എന്തു ചെയ്തുതരുവാന് നിങ്ങള് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

36. And he said to them, What would you have me do for you?

37. നിന്റെ മഹത്വത്തില് ഞങ്ങളില് ഒരുത്തന് നിന്റെ വലത്തും ഒരുത്തന് ഇടത്തും ഇരിക്കാന് വരം നല്കേണം എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

37. And they said to him, Let us be seated, one at your right hand and one at your left, in your glory.

38. യേശു അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് യാചിക്കുന്നതു ഇന്നതു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നില്ല; ഞാന് കുടിക്കുന്നപാന പാത്രം കുടിപ്പാനും ഞാന് ഏലക്കുന്ന സ്നാനം ഏല്പാനും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു കഴിയുമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു കഴിയും എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

38. But Jesus said to them, You have no knowledge of what you are saying. Are you able to take of my cup? or to undergo the baptism which I am to undergo?

39. യേശു അവരോടുഞാന് കുടിക്കുന്ന പാനപാത്രം നിങ്ങള് കുടിക്കയും ഞാന് ഏലക്കുന്ന സ്നാനം ഏല്ക്കയും ചെയ്യും നിശ്ചയം.

39. And they said to him, We are able. And Jesus said to them, You will take of the cup from which I take; and the baptism which I am about to undergo you will undergo:

40. എന്റെ വലത്തും ഇടത്തും ഇരിപ്പാന് വരം നലകുന്നതോ എന്റേതല്ല; ആര്ക്കും ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നുവോ അവര്ക്കും കിട്ടും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

40. But to be seated at my right hand or at my left is not for me to give: but it is for those for whom it has been made ready.

41. അതു ശേഷം പത്തു പേരും കേട്ടിട്ടു യാക്കോബിനോടും യോഹന്നാനോടും നീരസപ്പെട്ടുതുടങ്ങി.

41. And hearing this, the ten became very angry with James and John.

42. യേശു അവരെ അടുക്കെ വിളിച്ചു അവരോടുജാതികളില് അധിപതികളായവര് അവരില് കര്ത്തൃത്വം ചെയ്യുന്നു; അവരില് മഹത്തുക്കളായവര് അവരുടെ മേല് അധികാരം നടത്തുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നു.

42. And Jesus made them come to him, and said to them, You see that those who are made rulers over the Gentiles are lords over them, and their great ones have authority over them.

43. നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് അങ്ങനെ അരുതു; നിങ്ങളില് മഹാന് ആകുവാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവന് എല്ലാം നിങ്ങളുടെ ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരന് ആകേണം;

43. But it is not so among you: but whoever has a desire to become great among you, let him be your servant:

44. നിങ്ങളില് ഒന്നാമന് ആകുവാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവന് എല്ലാവര്ക്കും ദാസനാകേണം.

44. And whoever has a desire to be first among you, let him be servant of all.

45. മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്യിപ്പാനല്ല, ശുശ്രൂഷിപ്പാനും അനേകര്ക്കുംവേണ്ടി തന്റെ ജീവനെ മറുവിലയായി കൊടുപ്പാനും അത്രെ വന്നതു.

45. For truly the Son of man did not come to have servants, but to be a servant, and to give his life for the salvation of men.

46. അവര് യെരീഹോവില് എത്തി; പിന്നെ അവന് ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു വലിയ പുരുഷാരത്തോടും കൂടെ യെരീഹോവില് നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുമ്പോള് തിമായിയുടെ മകനായ ബര്ത്തിമായി എന്ന കുരുടനായ ഒരു ഭിക്ഷക്കാരന് വഴിയരികെ ഇരുന്നിരുന്നു.

46. And they came to Jericho: and when he was going out of Jericho, with his disciples and a great number of people, the son of Timaeus, Bartimaeus, a blind man, was seated by the wayside, with his hand out for money.

47. നസറായനായ യേശു എന്നു കേട്ടിട്ടു അവന് ദാവീദ് പുത്രാ, യേശുവേ, എന്നോടു കരുണ തോന്നേണമേ എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.

47. And when it came to his ears that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he gave a cry, and said, Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me.

48. മിണ്ടാതിരിപ്പാന് പലരും അവനെ ശാസിച്ചിട്ടുംദാവീദുപുത്രാ, എന്നോടു കരുണ തോന്നേണമേ എന്നു അവന് ഏറ്റവും അധികം നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

48. And some of them, turning in protest, gave him an order to be quiet: but he went on crying out all the more, Son of David, have mercy on me.

49. അപ്പോള് യേശു നിന്നുഅവനെ വിളിപ്പിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ധൈര്യപ്പെടുക, എഴുന്നേല്ക്ക, നിന്നെ വിളിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു കുരുടനെ വിളിച്ചു.

49. And Jesus came to a stop and said, Let him come. And crying out to the blind man, they said to him, Be comforted: come, he has sent for you.

50. അവന് തന്റെ പുതപ്പു ഇട്ടും കളഞ്ഞു ചാടിയെഴുന്നേറ്റു യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു.

50. And he, putting off his coat, got up quickly, and came to Jesus.

51. യേശു അവനോടുഞാന് നിനക്കു എന്തു ചെയ്തുതരേണമെന്നു നീ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുറബ്ബൂനീ, എനിക്കു കാഴ്ച പ്രാപിക്കേണമെന്നു കുരുടന് അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

51. And Jesus said to him, What would you have me do to you? And the blind man said, Master, make me able to see.

52. യേശു അവനോടുപോക; നിന്റെ വിശ്വാസം നിന്നെ രക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഉടനെ അവന് കാഴ്ച പ്രാപിച്ചു യാത്രയില് അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.

52. And Jesus said to him, Go on your way; your faith has made you well. And straight away he was able to see, and went after him in the way.
