1. പരീശപ്രമാണികളില് ഒരുത്തന്റെ വീട്ടില് അവന് ഭക്ഷണം കഴിപ്പാന് ശബ്ബത്തില് ചെന്നപ്പോള് അവര് അവനെ ഉറ്റുനോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

1. And it came about that when he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees on the Sabbath, to have a meal, they were watching him.

2. മഹോദരമുള്ളോരു മനുഷ്യന് അവന്റെ മുമ്പില് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

2. And a certain man was there who had a disease.

3. യേശു ന്യായശാസ്ത്രിമാരോടും പരീശന്മാരോടുംശബ്ബത്തില് സൌഖ്യമാക്കുന്നതു വിഹിതമോ അല്ലയോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അവരോ മിണ്ടാതിരുന്നു.

3. And Jesus, answering, said to the scribes and Pharisees, Is it right to make people well on the Sabbath or not?

4. അവന് അവനെ തൊട്ടു സൌഖ്യമാക്കി വിട്ടയച്ചു.

4. But they said nothing. And he made him well and sent him away.

5. പിന്നെ അവരോടുനിങ്ങളില് ഒരുത്തന്റെ മകനോ കാളയോ ശബ്ബത്തു നാളില് കിണറ്റില് വീണാല് ക്ഷണത്തില്

5. And he said to them, Which of you, whose ox or ass has got into a water-hole, will not straight away get him out on the Sabbath?

6. വലിച്ചെടുക്കയില്ലയോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു പ്രത്യുത്തരം പറവാന് അവര്ക്കും കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.

6. And they had no answer to that question.

7. ക്ഷണിക്കപ്പെട്ടവര് മുഖ്യാസനങ്ങളെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടിട്ടു അവന് അവരോടു ഒരുപമ പറഞ്ഞു

7. And he gave teaching in the form of a story to the guests who came to the feast, when he saw how they took the best seats; saying to them,

8. ഒരുത്തന് നിന്നെ കല്യാണത്തിന്നു വിളിച്ചാല് മുഖ്യാസനത്തില് ഇരിക്കരുതു; പക്ഷെ നിന്നിലും മാനമേറിയവനെ അവന് വിളിച്ചിരിക്കാം.

8. When you get a request to come to a feast, do not take the best seat, for a more important man than you may be coming,

9. പിന്നെ നിന്നെയും അവനെയും ക്ഷണിച്ചവന് വന്നുഇവന്നു ഇടം കൊടുക്ക എന്നു നിന്നോടു പറയുമ്പോള് നീ നാണത്തോടെ ഒടുക്കത്തെ സ്ഥലത്തുപോയി ഇരിക്കേണ്ടിവരും.

9. And then the giver of the feast will come to you and say, Give your place to this man; and you, with shame, will have to take the lowest seat.

10. നിന്നെ വിളിച്ചാല് ചെന്നു ഒടുക്കത്തെ സ്ഥലത്തു ഇരിക്ക; നിന്നെ ക്ഷണിച്ചവന് വരുമ്പോള് നിന്നോടുസ്നേഹിതാ, മുമ്പോട്ടു വന്നു ഇരിക്ക എന്നുപറവാന് ഇടവരട്ടെ; അപ്പോള് പന്തിയില് ഇരിക്കുന്നവരുടെ മുമ്പില് നിനക്കു മാനം ഉണ്ടാകും.
സദൃശ്യവാക്യങ്ങൾ 25:7

10. But when you come, go and take the lowest seat, so that when the giver of the feast comes, he may say to you, Friend, come up higher; and then you will have honour in the eyes of all the others who are there.

11. തന്നെത്താന് ഉയര്ത്തുന്നവന് എല്ലാം താഴ്ത്തപ്പെടും; തന്നെത്താന് താഴ്ത്തുന്നവന് ഉയര്ത്തപ്പെടും.

11. For every man who gives himself a high place will be put down, but he who takes a low place will be lifted up.

12. തന്നെ ക്ഷണിച്ചവനോടു അവന് പറഞ്ഞതുനീ ഒരു മുത്താഴമോ അത്താഴമോ കഴിക്കുമ്പോള് സ്നേഹിതന്മാരേയും സഹോരദരന്മാരെയും ചാര്ച്ചക്കാരെയും സമ്പത്തുള്ള അയല്ക്കാരെയും വിളിക്കരുതു; അവര് നിന്നെ അങ്ങോട്ടും വിളിച്ചിട്ടു നിനക്കു പ്രത്യുപകാരം ചെയ്യും.

12. And he said to the master of the house, When you give a feast, do not send for your friends and your brothers and your family or your neighbours who have wealth, for they may give a feast for you, and so you will get a reward.

13. നീ വിരുന്നു കഴിക്കുമ്പോള് ദരിദ്രന്മാര്, അംഗഹീനന്മാര് മുടന്തന്മാര്, കുരുടുന്മാര് എന്നിവരെ ക്ഷണിക്ക;

13. But when you give a feast, send for the poor and the blind and those who are broken in body:

14. എന്നാല് നീ ഭാഗ്യവാനാകും; നിനക്കു പ്രത്യുപകാരം ചെയ്വാന് അവര്ക്കും വകയില്ലല്ലോ; നീതിമാന്മാരരുടെ പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തില് നിനക്കു പ്രത്യുപകാരം ഉണ്ടാകും.

14. And you will have a blessing, because they will not be able to give you any payment, and you will get your reward when the upright come back from the dead.

15. കൂടെ പന്തിയിരിരുന്നവരില് ഒരുത്തന് ഇതു കേട്ടിട്ടുദൈവരാജ്യത്തില് ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കുന്നവന് ഭാഗ്യവാന് എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു;

15. And, hearing these words, one of those who were at table with him said to him, Happy is the man who will be a guest in the kingdom of God.

16. അവനോടു അവന് പറഞ്ഞതുഒരു മനുഷ്യന് വലിയോരു അത്താഴം ഒരുക്കി പലരെയും ക്ഷണിച്ചു.

16. And he said to them, A certain man gave a great feast, and sent word of it to a number of people.

17. അത്താഴസമയത്തു അവന് തന്റെ ദാസനെ അയച്ചു ആ ക്ഷണിച്ചവരോടുഎല്ലാം ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; വരുവിന് എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

17. And when the time had come, he sent his servants to say to them, Come, for all things are now ready.

18. എല്ലാവരും ഒരു പോലെ ഒഴികഴിവു പറഞ്ഞുതുടങ്ങി; ഒന്നാമത്തവന് അവനോടുഞാന് ഒരു നിലം കൊണ്ടതിനാല് അതു ചെന്നു കാണേണ്ടുന്ന ആവശ്യം ഉണ്ടു; എന്നോടു ക്ഷമിച്ചുകൊള്ളേണം എന്നു ഞാന് അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

18. And they all gave reasons why they were not able to come. The first said to him, I have got a new field, and it is necessary for me to go and see it: I am full of regret that I am unable to come.

19. മറ്റൊരുത്തന് ഞാന് അഞ്ചേര്കാളയെ കൊണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ടു; അവയെ ശോധന ചെയ്വാന് പോകുന്നു; എന്നോടു ക്ഷമിച്ചുകൊള്ളേണം എന്നു ഞാന് അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

19. And another said, I have got some cattle, and I am going to make a test of them: I am full of regret that I am unable to come.

20. വേറൊരുത്തന് ഞാന് ഇപ്പോള്വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; വരുവാന് കഴിവില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

20. And another said, I have been married, and so I am not able to come.

21. ദാസന് മടങ്ങിവന്നു യജമാനനോടു അറിയിച്ചു. അപ്പോള് വീട്ടുടയവന് കോപിച്ചു ദാസനോടുനീ വേഗം പട്ടണത്തിലെ വീഥികളിലും ഇടത്തെരുക്കളിലും ചെന്നു ദരിദ്രന്മാര്, അംഗഹീനന്മാര്, കുരുടന്മാര്, മുടന്തന്മാര്, എന്നിവരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവരിക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

21. And the servant came back and gave his master an account of these things. Then the master of the house was angry and said to the servant, Go out quickly into the streets of the town and get the poor, the blind, and those who are broken in body.

22. പിന്നെ ദാസന് യജമാനനേ, കല്പിച്ചതു ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇനിയും സ്ഥലം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

22. And the servant said, Lord, your orders have been done, and still there is room.

23. യജമാനന് ദാസനോടുനീ പെരുവഴികളിലും വേലികള്ക്കരികെയും പോയി, എന്റെ വീടുനിറയേണ്ടതിന്നു കണ്ടവരെ അകത്തുവരുവാന് നിര്ബ്ബന്ധിക്ക.

23. And the lord said to the servant, Go out into the roads and the fields, and make them come in, so that my house may be full.

24. ആ ക്ഷണിച്ച പുരുഷന്മാര് ആരും എന്റെ അത്താഴം ആസ്വദിക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

24. For I say to you that not one of those who were requested to come will have a taste of my feast.

25. ഏറിയ പുരുഷാരം അവനോടുകൂടെ പോകുമ്പോള് അവന് തിരിഞ്ഞു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു

25. Now a great number of people went with him.

26. എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരികയും അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും ഭാര്യയെയും മക്കളെയും സഹോദരന്മാരെയും സഹോദരികളെയും സ്വന്തജീവനെയും കൂടെ പകെക്കാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന്നു എന്റെ ശിഷ്യനായിരിപ്പാന് കഴികയില്ല.
ആവർത്തനം 33:9

26. And turning round, he said to them, If any man comes to me, and has not hate for his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, and even for his life, he may not be my disciple.

27. തന്റെ ക്രൂശു എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടു എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരാത്തവന്നു എന്റെ ശിഷ്യനായിരിപ്പാന് കഴിയില്ല.

27. Whoever does not take up his cross and come after me may not be my disciple.

28. നിങ്ങളില് ആരെങ്കിലും ഒരു ഗോപുരം പണിവാന് ഇച്ഛിച്ചാല് ആദ്യം ഇരുന്നു അതു തീര്പ്പാന് വക ഉണ്ടോ എന്നു കണകൂ നോക്കുന്നില്ലയോ?

28. For which of you, desiring to put up a tower, does not first give much thought to the price, if he will have enough to make it complete?

29. അല്ലെങ്കില് അടിസ്ഥാനം ഇട്ടശേഷം തീര്പ്പാന് വകയില്ല എന്നു വന്നേക്കാം;

29. For fear that if he makes a start and is not able to go on with it to the end, all who see it will be laughing at him,

30. കാണുന്നവര് എല്ലാം; ഈ മനുഷ്യര് പണിവാന് തുടങ്ങി, തീര്പ്പാനോ വകയില്ല എന്നു പരിഹസിക്കുമല്ലോ.

30. And saying, This man made a start at building and is not able to make it complete.

31. അല്ല, ഒരു രാജാവു മറ്റൊരു രാജാവിനോടു പട ഏല്പാന് പുറപ്പെടുംമുമ്പേ ഇരുന്നു, ഇരുപതിനായിരവുമായി വരുന്നവനോടു താന് പതിനായിരവുമായി എതിര്പ്പാന് മതിയോ എന്നു ആലോചിക്കുന്നില്ലയോ?

31. Or what king, going to war with another king, will not first take thought if he will be strong enough, with ten thousand men, to keep off him who comes against him with twenty thousand?

32. പോരാ എന്നു വരികില് മറ്റവന് ദൂരത്തിരിക്കുമ്പോള് തന്നേ സ്ഥാനാപതികളെ അയച്ചു സമാധാനത്തിന്നായി അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.

32. Or while the other is still a great distance away, he sends representatives requesting conditions of peace.

33. അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ നിങ്ങളില് ആരെങ്കിലും തനിക്കുള്ളതു ഒക്കെയും വിട്ടുപിരിയുന്നില്ല എങ്കില് അവന്നു എന്റെ ശിഷ്യനായിരിപ്പാന് കഴികയില്ല.

33. And so whoever is not ready to give up all he has may not be my disciple.

34. ഉപ്പു നല്ലതു തന്നേ; ഉപ്പു കാരമില്ലാതെ പോയാല് എന്തൊന്നുകൊണ്ടു അതിന്നു രസം വരുത്തും?

34. For salt is good, but if the taste goes from it, of what use is it?

35. പിന്നെ നിലത്തിന്നും വളത്തിന്നും കൊള്ളുന്നതല്ല; അതിനെ പുറത്തു കളയും. കേള്പ്പാന് ചെവി ഉള്ളവന് കേള്ക്കട്ടെ

35. It is no good for the land or for the place of waste; no one has a use for it. He who has ears, let him give ear.
