1. ഞാന് സാക്ഷാല് മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയും എന്റെ പിതാവു തോട്ടക്കാരനും ആകുന്നു.

1. 'I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.

2. എന്നില് കായ്ക്കാത്ത കൊമ്പു ഒക്കെയും അവന് നീക്കിക്കളയുന്നു; കായക്കുന്നതു ഒക്കെയും അധികം ഫലം കായ്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ചെത്തി വെടിപ്പാക്കുന്നു.

2. 'Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every [branch] that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit.

3. ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിച്ച വചനം നിമിത്തം നിങ്ങള് ഇപ്പോള് ശുദ്ധിയുള്ളവരാകുന്നു.

3. 'You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.

4. എന്നില് വസിപ്പിന് ; ഞാന് നിങ്ങളിലും വസിക്കും; കൊമ്പിന്നു മുന്തിരവള്ളിയില് വസിച്ചിട്ടല്ലാതെ സ്വയമായി കായ്പാന് കഴിയാത്തതുപോലെ എന്നില് വസിച്ചിട്ടല്ലാതെ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു കഴികയില്ല.

4. 'Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither [can] you unless you abide in Me.

5. ഞാന് മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയും നിങ്ങള് കൊമ്പുകളും ആകുന്നു; ഒരുത്തന് എന്നിലും ഞാന് അവനിലും വസിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് അവന് വളരെ ഫലം കായക്കും; എന്നെ പിരിഞ്ഞു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഒന്നും ചെയ്വാന് കഴികയില്ല.

5. 'I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.

6. എന്നില് വസിക്കാത്തവനെ ഒരു കൊമ്പുപോലെ പുറത്തു കളഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന് ഉണങ്ങിപ്പോകുന്നു; ആ വക ചേര്ത്തു തീയില് ഇടുന്നു;

6. 'If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned.

7. അതു വെന്തുപോകും. നിങ്ങള് എന്നിലും എന്റെ വചനം നിങ്ങളിലും വസിച്ചാല് നിങ്ങള് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നതു എന്തെങ്കിലും അപേക്ഷിപ്പിന് ; അതു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു കിട്ടും.

7. 'If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

8. നിങ്ങള് വളരെ ഫലം കായക്കുന്നതിനാല് എന്റെ പിതാവു മഹത്വപ്പെടുന്നു; അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് ആകും.

8. 'My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and [so] prove to be My disciples.

9. പിതാവു എന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഞാനും നിങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ സ്നേഹത്തില് വസിപ്പിന് .

9. 'Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love.

10. ഞാന് എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ കല്പനകള് പ്രമാണിച്ചു അവന്റെ സ്നേഹത്തില് വസിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ കല്പനകള് പ്രമാണിച്ചാല് എന്റെ സ്നേഹത്തില് വസിക്കും.

10. 'If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.

11. എന്റെ സന്തോഷം നിങ്ങളില് ഇരിപ്പാനും നിങ്ങളുടെ സന്തോഷം പൂര്ണ്ണമാകുവാനും ഞാന് ഇതു നിങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

11. 'These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and [that] your joy may be made full.

12. ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളും തമ്മില് തമ്മില് സ്നേഹിക്കേണം എന്നാകുന്നു എന്റെ കല്പന.

12. 'This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.

13. സ്നേഹിതന്മാര്ക്കുംവേണ്ടി ജീവനെ കൊടുക്കുന്നതിലും അധികമുള്ള സ്നേഹം ആര്ക്കും ഇല്ല.

13. 'Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.

14. ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നതു ചെയ്താല് നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ സ്നേഹിതന്മാര് തന്നേ

14. 'You are My friends if you do what I command you.

15. യജമാനന് ചെയ്യുന്നതു ദാസന് അറിയായ്കകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ ദാസന്മാര് എന്നു ഇനി പറയുന്നില്ല; ഞാന് എന്റെ പിതാവിനോടു കേട്ടതു എല്ലാം നിങ്ങളോടു അറിയിച്ചതു കൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിതന്മാര് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

15. 'No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.

16. നിങ്ങള് എന്നെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു എന്നല്ല, ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു, നിങ്ങള് പോയി ഫലം കായ്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ ഫലം നിലനില്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും നിങ്ങളേ ആക്കിവെച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ നാമത്തില് പിതാവിനോടു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും അവന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തരുവാനായിട്ടു തന്നേ.

16. 'You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and [that] your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.

17. നിങ്ങള് തമ്മില് തമ്മില് സ്നേഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് ഇതു നിങ്ങളോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നു.

17. 'This I command you, that you love one another.

18. ലോകം നിങ്ങളെ പകെക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് അതു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു മുമ്പെ എന്നെ പകെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അറിവിന് .

18. 'If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before [it hated] you.

19. നിങ്ങള് ലോകക്കാര് ആയിരുന്നു എങ്കില് ലോകം തനിക്കു സ്വന്തമായതിനെ സ്നേഹിക്കുമായിരുന്നു; എന്നാല് നിങ്ങള് ലോകക്കാരായിരിക്കാതെ ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ ലോകത്തില് നിന്നു തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തതുകൊണ്ടു ലോകം നിങ്ങളെ പകെക്കുന്നു.

19. 'If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you.

20. ദാസന് യജമാനനെക്കാള് വലിയവനല്ല എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കു ഔര്പ്പിന് . അവര് എന്നെ ഉപദ്രവിച്ചു എങ്കില് നിങ്ങളെയും ഉപദ്രവിക്കും; എന്റെ വചനം പ്രമാണിച്ചു എങ്കില് നിങ്ങളുടേതും പ്രമാണിക്കും.

20. 'Remember the word that I said to you, 'A slave is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they kept My word, they will keep yours also.

21. എങ്കിലും എന്നെ അയച്ചവനെ അവര് അറിയായ്കകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ നാമം നിമിത്തം ഇതു ഒക്കെയും നിങ്ങളോടു ചെയ്യും.

21. 'But all these things they will do to you for My name's sake, because they do not know the One who sent Me.

22. ഞാന് വന്നു അവരോടു സംസാരിക്കാതിരുന്നെങ്കില് അവര്ക്കും പാപം ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു; ഇപ്പോഴോ അവരുടെ പാപത്തിന്നു ഒഴികഴിവില്ല.

22. 'If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.

23. എന്നെ പകെക്കുന്നവന് എന്റെ പിതാവിനെയും പകെക്കുന്നു.

23. 'He who hates Me hates My Father also.

24. മറ്റാരും ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ലാത്ത പ്രവൃത്തികളെ ഞാന് അവരുടെ ഇടയില് ചെയ്തിരുന്നില്ല എങ്കില് അവര്ക്കും പാപം ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു; ഇപ്പോഴോ അവര് എന്നെയും എന്റെ പിതാവിനെയും കാണ്കയും പകെക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

24. 'If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would not have sin; but now they have both seen and hated Me and My Father as well.

25. “അവര് വെറുതെ എന്നെ പകെച്ചു” എന്നു അവരുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്ന വചനം നിവൃത്തിയാകേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ.

25. 'But [they have done this] to fulfill the word that is written in their Law, 'THEY HATED ME WITHOUT A CAUSE.'

26. ഞാന് പിതാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല്നിന്നു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു അയപ്പാനുള്ള കാര്യസ്ഥനായി പിതാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുന്ന സത്യാത്മാവു വരുമ്പോള് അവന് എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷ്യം പറയും.

26. 'When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, [that is] the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me,

27. നിങ്ങളും ആദിമുതല് എന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കകൊണ്ടു സാക്ഷ്യം പറവിന് .

27. and you [will] testify also, because you have been with Me from the beginning.
