1. ഇതു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു യേശു ശിഷ്യന്മാരുമായി കെദ്രോന് തോട്ടിന്നു അക്കരെക്കു പോയി. അവിടെ ഒരു തോട്ടം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അതില് അവനും ശിഷ്യന്മാരും കടന്നു.

1. Whan Iesus had thus spoke, he wete forth with his disciples ouer the broke Cedron, where there was a garde, in to the which Iesus entred and his disciples.

2. അവിടെ യേശു പലപ്പോഴും ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടുകൂടെ പോയിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവനെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുത്ത യൂദയും ആ സ്ഥലം അറിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു.

2. But Iudas yt betrayed hi, knewe the place also. For Iesus resorted thither oft tymes wt his disciples.

3. അങ്ങനെ യൂദാ പട്ടാളത്തെയും മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും പരീശന്മാരും അയച്ച ചേവകരെയും കൂട്ടികൊണ്ടു ദീപട്ടിപന്തങ്ങളും ആയുധങ്ങളുമായി അവിടെ വന്നു.

3. Now whan Iudas had take vnto him the copany, & mynisters of the hye prestes and Pharises, he came thither with creshettes, wt lanternes, and with weapens.

4. യേശു തനിക്കു നേരിടുവാനുള്ളതു എല്ലാം അറിഞ്ഞു പുറത്തുചെന്നുനിങ്ങള് ആരെ തിരയുന്നു എന്നു അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

4. Iesus now knowinge all yt shulde come vpon him, wete forth, and sayde vnto the: Whom seke ye?

5. നസറായനായ യേശുവിനെ എന്നു അവര് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞപ്പോള്അതു ഞാന് തന്നേ എന്നു യേശു പറഞ്ഞു; അവനെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുന്ന യൂദയും അവരോടുകൂടെ നിന്നിരുന്നു.

5. They answered him: Iesus of Nazareth. Iesus sayde vnto them: I am he. Iudas also which betrayed him, stode with the.

6. ഞാന് തന്നേ എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞപ്പോള് അവര് പിന് വാങ്ങി നിലത്തുവീണു.

6. Now whan Iesus sayde vnto the: I am he, they wete bacwardes, and fell to the grounde.

7. നിങ്ങള് ആരെ തിരയുന്നു എന്നു അവന് പിന്നെയും അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവര്നസറായനായ യേശുവിനെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

7. Then axed he the agayne: Whom seke ye? They sayde: Iesus of Nazareth.

8. ഞാന് തന്നേ എന്നു നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ; എന്നെ ആകുന്നു തിരയുന്നതെങ്കില് ഇവര് പോയ്ക്കൊള്ളട്ടെ എന്നു യേശു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

8. Iesus answered: I haue tolde you, that I am he. Yf ye seke me, then let these go their waye.

9. നീ എനിക്കു തന്നവരില് ആരും നഷ്ടമായിപ്പോയിട്ടില്ല എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കിന്നു ഇതിനാല് നിവൃത്തിവന്നു.

9. That the worde might be fulfylled, which he sayde: Of them who thou gauest me, haue I not lost one.

10. ശിമോന് പത്രൊസ് തനിക്കുള്ള വാള് ഊരി മഹാപുരോഹിതന്റെ ദാസനെ വെട്ടി അവന്റെ വലത്തുകാതു അറുത്തു കളഞ്ഞു; ആ ദാസന്നു മല്ക്കൊസ് എന്നു പേര്.

10. Then had Symon Peter a swerde, and drewe it out, and smote the hye prestes seruaut, and cut of his right eare. And ye seruautes name was Malchus.

11. യേശു പത്രൊസിനോടുവാള് ഉറയില് ഇടുക; പിതാവു എനിക്കു തന്ന പാനപാത്രം ഞാന് കുടിക്കേണ്ടയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

11. Then sayde Iesus vnto Peter: Put vp thy swerde in to the sheeth. Shal I not drynke of ye cuppe, which my father hath geue me?

12. പട്ടാളവും സഹസ്രാധിപനും യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ചേവകരും യേശുവിനെ പിടിച്ചുകെട്ടി

12. Then the company and the captayne & the officers of the Iewes toke Iesus, and bounde him,

13. ഒന്നാമതു ഹന്നാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുപോയി; അവന് ആ സംവത്സരത്തെ മഹാപുരോഹിതനായ കയ്യഫാവിന്റെ അമ്മായപ്പന് ആയിരുന്നു.

13. & led him awaye first vnto Annas, that was fatherlawe vnto Caiphas, which was hye prest yt same yeare.

14. കയ്യഫാവോജനത്തിനുവേണ്ടി ഒരു മനുഷ്യന് മരിക്കുന്നതു നന്നു എന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാരോടു ആലോചന പറഞ്ഞവന് തന്നേ.

14. It was Caiphas, which gaue coucell vnto ye Iewes that it were good, that one man shulde dye for the people.

15. ശിമോന് പത്രൊസും മറ്റൊരു ശിഷ്യനും യേശുവിന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു; ആ ശിഷ്യന് മഹാപുരോഹിതന്നു പരിചയമുള്ളവന് ആകയാല് യേശുവിനോടുകൂടെ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്റെ നടുമുറ്റത്തു കടന്നു.

15. As for Symon Peter, he and another disciple folowed Iesus. The same disciple was knowne vnto the hye prest,and wete in with Iesus in to the hye prestes palace.

16. പത്രൊസ് വാതില്ക്കല് പുറത്തു നിലക്കുമ്പോള്, മഹാപുരോഹിതന്നു പരിചയമുള്ള മറ്റെ ശിഷ്യന് പുറത്തുവന്നു വാതില്കാവല്ക്കാരത്തിയോടു പറഞ്ഞു പത്രൊസിനെ അകത്തു കയറ്റി.

16. But Peter stode without at the dore. Then yt other disciple which was knowne vnto the hye prest, wente out, and spake to the damsell yt kepte the dore, and brought in Peter.

17. വാതില് കാക്കുന്ന ബാല്യക്കാരത്തി പത്രൊസിനോടുനീയും ഈ മനുഷ്യന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരില് ഒരുവനോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു; അല്ല എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

17. Then the damsell that kepte the dore, sayde vnto Peter: Art not thou also one of this mans disciples? He sayde: I am not.

18. അന്നു കുളിര് ആകകൊണ്ടു ദാസന്മാരും ചേവകരും കനല് കൂട്ടി തീ കാഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; പത്രൊസും അവരോടുകൂടെ തീ കാഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടുനിന്നു.

18. The seruauntes & officers stode, and had made a fyre of coles (for it was colde) & warmed the selues. Peter also stode with them, and warmed him self.

19. മഹാപുരോഹിതന് യേശുവിനോടു അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരെയും ഉപദേശത്തെയും കുറിച്ചു ചോദിച്ചു.

19. The hye prest axed Iesus of his disciples, and of his doctryne.

20. അതിന്നു യേശുഞാന് ലോകത്തോടു പരസ്യമായി സംസാരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; പള്ളിയിലും എല്ലാ യെഹൂദന്മാരും കൂടുന്ന ദൈവാലയത്തിലും ഞാന് എപ്പോഴും ഉപദേശിച്ചു;

20. Iesus answered him: I haue spoken openly before the worlde, I haue euer taught in the synagoge and in the teple, whither all the Iewes resorted, & in secrete haue I spoke nothinge.

21. രഹസ്യമായി ഒന്നും സംസാരിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. നീ എന്നോടു ചോദിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? ഞാന് സംസാരിച്ചതു എന്തെന്നു കേട്ടവരോടു ചോദിക്ക; ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞതു അവര് അറിയുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

21. Why axest thou me? Axe the yt haue herde, what I haue spoken vnto the: beholde, they can tell what I haue sayde.

22. അവന് ഇങ്ങനെ പറയുമ്പോള് ചേവകരില് അരികെ നിന്ന ഒരുത്തന് മഹാപുരോഹിതനോടു ഇങ്ങനെയോ ഉത്തരം പറയുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു യേശുവിന്റെ കന്നത്തു ഒന്നടിച്ചു.
മീഖാ 5:1

22. But whan he had thus spoke, one of the officers that stode by, smote Iesus on the face, and sayde: Answerest thou the hye prest so?

23. യേശു അവനോടുഞാന് ദോഷമായി സംസാരിച്ചു എങ്കില് തെളിവു കൊടുക്ക; അല്ലെങ്കില് എന്നെ തല്ലുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

23. Iesus answered him: Yf I haue euell spoke, the beare wytnesse of euell: but yf I haue well spoken, why smytest thou me?

24. ഹന്നാവു അവനെ കെട്ടപ്പെട്ടവനായി മഹാപുരോഹിതനായ കയ്യഫാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചു.

24. And Annas sent him bounde vnto Caiphas ye hye prest.

25. ശിമോന് പത്രൊസ് തീ കാഞ്ഞുനിലക്കുമ്പോള്നീയും അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരില് ഒരുത്തനല്ലയോ എന്നു ചിലര് അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു; അല്ല എന്നു അവന് മറുത്തുപറഞ്ഞു.

25. Symo Peter stode and warmed him self. The sayde they vnto him: Art not thou one of his disciples? He denyed, and sayde: I am not.

26. മഹാപുരോഹിതന്റെ ദാസന്മാരില് വെച്ച പത്രൊസ് കാതറുത്തവന്റെ ചാര്ച്ചക്കാരനായ ഒരുത്തന് ഞാന് നിന്നെ അവനോടുകൂടെ തോട്ടത്തില് കണ്ടില്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

26. A seruaut of the hye prestes, a kynssma of his, whose eare Peter had smytten of, sayde vnto him: Dyd not I se the in the garde with him?

27. പത്രൊസ് പിന്നെയും മറുത്തുപറഞ്ഞു; ഉടനെ കോഴി ക്കുകി!

27. Then Peter denyed agayne. And immediatly the cock crew.

28. പുലര്ച്ചെക്കു അവര് യേശുവിനെ കയ്യഫാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് നിന്നു ആസ്ഥാനത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി; തങ്ങള് അശുദ്ധമാകാതെ പെസഹ കഴിപ്പാന്തക്കവണ്ണം ആസ്ഥാനത്തില് കടന്നില്ല.

28. Then led they Iesus from Caiphas in to the comon hall. And it was early in the mornynge. And they them selues wete not in to the como hall, lest they shulde be defyled, but yt they might eate ye Pascall lambe.

29. പീലാത്തൊസ് അവരുടെ അടുക്കല് പുറത്തുവന്നുഈ മനുഷ്യന്റെ നേരെ എന്തു കുറ്റം ബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

29. Then wente Pilate out vnto the, and sayde: What accusacion brynge ye agaynst this man?

30. കുറ്റക്കാരന് അല്ലാഞ്ഞു എങ്കില് ഞങ്ങള് അവനെ നിന്റെ പക്കല് ഏല്പിക്കയില്ലായിരുന്നു എന്നു അവര് അവനോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

30. They answered, and sayde vnto him: Yf he were not an euell doer, we had not delyuered him vnto the.

31. പീലാത്തൊസ് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് അവനെ കൊണ്ടുപോയി നിങ്ങളുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണപ്രകാരം വിധിപ്പിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാര് അവനോടുമരണശിക്ഷെക്കുള്ള അധികാരം ഞങ്ങള്ക്കില്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

31. Then sayde Pilate vnto the: Take ye him, and iudge him after yor lawe. Then sayde ye Iewes vnto him: It is not laufull for vs to put eny ma to death.

32. യേശു താന് മരിപ്പാനുള്ള മരണവിധം സൂചിപ്പിച്ചവാക്കിന്നു ഇതിനാല് നിവൃത്തിവന്നു.

32. That ye worde of Iesus might be fulfilled, which he spake, whan he signified, what death he shulde dye.

33. പീലാത്തൊസ് പിന്നെയും ആസ്ഥാനത്തില് ചെന്നു യേശുവിനെ വിളിച്ചുനീ യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ രാജാവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

33. Then entred Pilate in to the comon hall agayne, and called Iesus, & sayde vnto him: Art thou the kynge of the Iewes?

34. അതിന്നു ഉത്തരമായി യേശുഇതു നീ സ്വയമായി പറയുന്നതോ മറ്റുള്ളവര് എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു നിന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

34. Iesus answered: Sayest thou that of thy self, or haue other tolde it the of me?

35. പീലാത്തൊസ് അതിന്നു ഉത്തരമായിഞാന് യെഹൂദനോ? നിന്റെ ജനവും മഹാപുരോഗിതന്മാരും നിന്നെ നിന്റെ പക്കല് ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ എന്തു ചെയ്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു യേശു
സെഖർയ്യാവു 13:6

35. Pilate answered: Am I a Iewe? Thy people and the hye prestes haue delyuered the vnto me. What hast thou done?

36. എന്റെ രാജ്യം ഐഹികമല്ല; എന്നു എന്റെ രാജ്യം ഐഹികം ആയിരുന്നു എങ്കില് എന്നെ യഹൂദന്മാരുടെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കാതവണ്ണം എന്റെ ചേവകര് പോരാടുമായിരുന്നു. എന്നാല് എന്റെ രാജ്യം ഐഹികമല്ല എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

36. Iesus answered: My kyugdome is not of this worlde. Yf my kyngdome were of this worlde, my mynisters wolde fight therfore, yt I shulde not be delyuered vnto the Iewes. But now is my kyngdome not from hence.

37. പീലാത്തൊസ് അവനോടുഎന്നാല് നീ രാജാവു തന്നേയല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു യേശുനീ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ഞാന് രാജാവുതന്നേ; സത്യത്തിന്നു സാക്ഷിനില്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് ജനിച്ചു അതിന്നായി ലോകത്തില് വന്നുമിരിക്കുന്നു; സത്യതല്പരനായവന് എല്ലാം എന്റെ വാക്കുകേള്ക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
യെശയ്യാ 32:1

37. The sayde Pilate vnto hi: Art thou a kynge the? Iesus answered: Thou sayest it, for I am a kynge. For this cause was I borne, and came in to the worlde, that I shulde testifye the trueth. Who so euer is of the trueth, heareth my voyce.

38. പീലാത്തൊസ് അവനോടുസത്യം എന്നാല് എന്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു പിന്നെയും യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കല് പുറത്തു ചെന്നു അവരോടുഞാന് അവനില് ഒരു കുറ്റവും കാണുന്നില്ല.

38. Pilate sayde vnto hi: What is the trueth? And whan he had sayde that he wete out agayne to the Iewes, and sayde vnto them: I fynde no gyltinesse in him:

39. എന്നാല് പെസഹയില് ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഒരുത്തനെ വിട്ടുതരിക പതിവുണ്ടല്ലോ; യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ രാജാവിനെ വിട്ടുതരുന്നതു സമ്മതമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവര് പിന്നെയും

39. But ye haue a custome, that I shulde geue one vnto you lowse at Easter. Wyl ye now yt I lowse vnto you the kynge of ye Iewes?

40. ഇവനെ വേണ്ടാ; ബറബ്ബാസിനെ മതി എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു; ബറബ്ബാസോ കവര്ച്ചക്കാരന് ആയിരുന്നു.

40. The cryed they agayne alltogether, and sayde: Not him, but Barrabas. Yet was Barrabas a murthurer.
