1. അവന് കടന്നുപോകുമ്പോള് പിറവിയിലെ കുരുടനായോരു മനുഷ്യനെ കണ്ടു.

1. And, passing along, he saw a man, blind from birth.

2. അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അവനോടുറബ്ബീ, ഇവന് കുരുടനായി പിറക്കത്തക്കവണ്ണം ആര് പാപം ചെയ്തു? ഇവനോ ഇവന്റെ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാരോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

2. And his disciples questioned him, saying Rabbi! who sinned, this man or his parents, that, blind, he should be born?

3. അതിന്നു യേശുഅവന് എങ്കിലും അവന്റെ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാരെങ്കിലും പാപം ചെയ്തിട്ടല്ല, ദൈവപ്രവൃത്തി അവങ്കല് വെളിവാകേണ്ടതിന്നത്രേ.

3. Jesus answered Neither, this man, sinned nor his parents; but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

4. എന്നെ അയച്ചവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തി പകല് ഉള്ളേടത്തോളം നാം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതാകുന്നു; ആര്ക്കും പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചുകൂടാത്ത രാത്രി വരുന്നു;

4. We must needs be working the works of him that sent me, while it is, day: There cometh a night, when, no one, can work.

5. ഞാന് ലോകത്തില് ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള് ലോകത്തിന്റെ വെളിച്ചം ആകുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

5. Whensoever I may be, in the world, I am, the light, of the world.

6. ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന് നിലത്തു തുപ്പി തുപ്പല്കൊണ്ടു ചേറുണ്ടാക്കി ചേറു അവന്റെ കണ്ണിന്മേല് പൂശി

6. These things, having said, he spat on the ground, and made clay with the spittle, and laid the clay upon his eyes;

7. നീ ചെന്നു ശിലോഹാംകുളത്തില് കഴുകുക എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു; ശിലോഹാം എന്നതിന്നു അയക്കപ്പെട്ടവന് എന്നര്ത്ഥം. അവന് പോയി കഴുകി, കണ്ണു കാണുന്നവനായി മടങ്ങിവന്നു.

7. and said unto him Withdraw! wash in the pool of Siloam, which is to be translated, Sent. He went away, therefore, and washed, and came, seeing.

8. അയല്ക്കാരും അവനെ മുമ്പെ ഇരക്കുന്നവനായി കണ്ടവരുംഇവനല്ലയോ അവിടെ ഇരുന്നു ഭിക്ഷ യാചിച്ചവന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

8. The neighbours, therefore, and they who used to observe him aforetime that he was, a beggar, were saying Is not, this, he that used to sit and beg?

9. അവന് തന്നേഎന്നു ചിലരും അല്ല, അവനെപ്പോലെയുള്ളവന് എന്നു മറ്റുചിലരും പറഞ്ഞു; ഞാന് തന്നേ എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

9. Others, were saying 'Tis, the same. Others, were saying Nay! but he is, like him. He, was saying I, am he.

10. അവര് അവനോടുനിന്റെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവന്

10. So they were saying unto him How then were thine eyes opened?

11. യേശു എന്നു പേരുള്ള മനുഷ്യന് ചേറുണ്ടാക്കി എന്റെ കണ്ണിന്മേല് പൂശിശിലോഹാംകുളത്തില് ചെന്നു കഴുകുക എന്നു എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞു; ഞാന് പോയി കഴുകി കാഴ്ച പ്രാപിച്ചു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

11. He, answered The man that is called Jesus, made, clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me: Withdraw unto the pool of Siloam, and wash. Going away, therefore, and washing, I received sight.

12. അവന് എവിടെ എന്നു അവര് അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഞാന് അറിയുന്നില്ല എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

12. And they said unto him Where is, He? He saith I know not.

13. കുരുടനായിരുന്നവനെ അവര് പരീശന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുപോയി.

13. They bring him unto the Pharisees him at one time blind.

14. യേശു ചേറുണ്ടാക്കി അവന്റെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നതു ശബ്ബത്ത് നാളില് ആയിരുന്നു.

14. Now it was Sabbath, on the day when Jesus made, the clay, and opened his eyes.

15. അവന് കാഴ്ച പ്രാപിച്ചതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു പരീശന്മാരും അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു. അവന് അവരോടുഅവന് എന്റെ കണ്ണിന്മേല് ചേറു തേച്ചു ഞാന് കഴുകി; കാഴ്ച പ്രാപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. Again, therefore, the Pharisees also questioned him, as to how he received sight. And, he, said unto them Clay, laid he upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see.

16. പരീശന്മാരില് ചിലര്ഈ മനുഷ്യന് ശബ്ബത്ത് പ്രമാണിക്കായ്കകൊണ്ടു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല്നിന്നു വന്നവനല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. മറ്റു ചിലര്പാപിയായോരു മനുഷ്യന്നു ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള അടയാളങ്ങള് ചെയ്വാന് എങ്ങനെ കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അങ്ങനെ അവരുടെ ഇടയില് ഒരു ഭിന്നത ഉണ്ടായി.

16. Certain from among the Pharisees, therefore, were saying This man is not, from God, because, the Sabbath, he keepeth not. Others, however were saying How can a sinful man, such signs as these, be doing? And there was, a division, among them.

17. അവര് പിന്നെയും കുരുടനോടുനിന്റെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നതുകൊണ്ടു നീ അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു എന്തു പറയുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഅവന് ഒരു പ്രവാചകന് എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

17. So they were saying unto the blind man, again, What dost, thou, say concerning him, in that he opened thine eyes? And, he, said A prophet, is he.

18. കാഴ്ചപ്രാപിച്ചവന്റെ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാരെ വിളിച്ചു ചോദിക്കുവോളം അവന് കുരുടനായിരുന്നു എന്നും കാഴ്ച പ്രാപിച്ചു എന്നും യെഹൂദന്മാര് വിശ്വസിച്ചില്ല.

18. The Jews, therefore, did not believe, concerning him, that he was blind, and received sight, until they called the parents of him that had received sight,

19. കുരുടനായി ജനിച്ചു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് പറയുന്ന നിങ്ങളുടെ മകന് ഇവന് തന്നെയോ? എന്നാല് അവന്നു ഇപ്പോള് കണ്ണു കാണുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു അവര് അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

19. and questioned them, saying Is, this, your son, of whom, ye, say, that blind, he was, born? How, then, seeth he, even now?

20. അവന്റെ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാര്ഇവന് ഞങ്ങളുടെ മകന് എന്നും കുരുടനായി ജനിച്ചവന് എന്നും ഞങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നു.

20. His parents, therefore, answered, and said We know that, this, is our son, and that, blind, he was born;

21. എന്നാല് കണ്ണു കാണുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു അറിയുന്നില്ല; അവന്റെ കണ്ണു ആര് തുറന്നു എന്നും അറിയുന്നില്ല; അവനോടു ചോദിപ്പിന് ; അവന്നു പ്രായം ഉണ്ടല്ലോ അവന് തന്നേ പറയും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

21. But, how he now seeth, we know not, or, who opened his eyes, we, know not, Question, him, he is, of age, he, concerning himself, shall speak.

22. യെഹൂദന്മാരെ ഭയപ്പെടുകകൊണ്ടത്രേ അവന്റെ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാര് ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞതു; അവനെ ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു ഏറ്റുപറയുന്നവന് പള്ളിഭ്രഷ്ടനാകേണം എന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാര് തമ്മില് പറഞ്ഞൊത്തിരുന്നു

22. These things, said his parents, because they were in fear of the Jews, for, already, had the Jews agreed together, that, if anyone should confess, him, to be Christ, an, excommunicant from the synagogue, should he be made.

23. അതുകൊണ്ടത്രേ അവന്റെ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാര്അവന്നു പ്രായം ഉണ്ടല്ലോ; അവനോടു ചോദിപ്പിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതു.

23. For this cause, his parents said He is, of age, question him.

24. കുരുടനായിരുന്ന മനുഷ്യനെ അവര് രണ്ടാമതും വിളിച്ചുദൈവത്തിന്നു മഹത്വം കൊടുക്ക; ആ മനുഷ്യന് പാപി എന്നു ഞങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

24. So they called the man a second time him who had been blind, and said unto him Give glory unto God! We know that, this man, is, a sinner.

25. അതിന്നു അവന് അവന് പാപിയോ അല്ലയോ എന്നു ഞാന് അറിയുന്നില്ല; ഒന്നു അറിയുന്നു; ഞാന് കുരുടനായിരുന്നു, ഇപ്പോള് കണ്ണു കാണുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

25. He, therefore, answered Whether he is a sinner, I know not: One thing, I know, That, whereas I was, blind, now, I see!

26. അവര് അവനോടുഅവന് നിനക്കു എന്തു ചെയ്തു? നിന്റെ കണ്ണു എങ്ങനെ തുറന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

26. They said, therefore, unto him What did he unto thee? How opened he thine eyes?

27. അതിന്നു അവന് ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ; നിങ്ങള് ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചില്ല; വീണ്ടും കേള്പ്പാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? നിങ്ങള്ക്കും അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് ആകുവാന് മനസ്സുണ്ടോ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

27. He answered them I told you just now, and ye did not hear: Why, again, do ye wish to hear? Are, ye also, wishing to become, his disciples?

28. അപ്പോള് അവര് അവനെ ശകാരിച്ചുനീ അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന് ; ഞങ്ങള് മോശെയുടെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര്.

28. And they reviled him, and said Thou, art, the disciple, of that man; but, we, are, Moses', disciples:

29. മോശെയോടു ദൈവം സംസാരിച്ചു എന്നു ഞങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നു; ഇവനോ എവിടെനിന്നു എന്നു അറിയുന്നില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

29. We, know, that, unto Moses, hath God spoken; but, as for this man, we know not whence he is.

30. ആ മനുഷ്യന് അവരോടുഎന്റെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നിട്ടും അവന് എവിടെനിന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് അറിയാത്തതു ആശ്ചയ്യം.

30. The man answered, and said unto them Why! Herein, is, the marvel: That, ye, know not whence he is, and yet he opened mine eyes.

31. പാപികളുടെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന ദൈവം കേള്ക്കുന്നില്ല എന്നും ദൈവഭക്തനായിരുന്നു അവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം ചെയ്യുന്നവന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന കേള്ക്കുന്നു എന്നും നാം അറിയുന്നു.

31. We know that, God, unto sinners, doth not hearken: but, if one be, a worshipper of God, and be doing, his will, unto this one, he hearkeneth.

32. കുരുടനായി പിറന്നവന്റെ കണ്ണു ആരെങ്കിലും തുറന്നപ്രകാരം ലോകം ഉണ്ടായതുമുതല് കേട്ടിട്ടില്ല.

32. Out of age-past time, hath it never been heard, that anyone opened the eyes of one who, blind, had been born.

33. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല്നിന്നു വന്നവന് അല്ലെങ്കില് അവന്നു ഒന്നും ചെയ്വാന് കഴികയില്ല എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

33. If this man were not from God, he could have done nothing.

34. അവര് അവനോടുനീ മുഴുവനും പാപത്തില് പിറന്നവന് ; നീ ഞങ്ങളെ ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ പുറത്താക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

34. They answered and said unto him In sins, wast, thou, born, altogether; and art, thou, teaching, us? And they cast him out.

35. അവനെ പുറത്താക്കി എന്നു യേശു കേട്ടു; അവനെ കണ്ടപ്പോള്നീ ദൈവപുത്രനില് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

35. Jesus heard that they had cast him out: and, finding him, said Dost, thou, believe on the son of Man?

36. അതിന്നു അവന് യജമാനനേ, അവന് ആര് ആകുന്നു? ഞാന് അവനില് വിശ്വസിക്കാം എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

36. He answered and said And, who, is he, Sir, that I may believe on him?

37. യേശു അവനോടുനീ അവനെ കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ടു; നിന്നോടു സംസാരിക്കുന്നവന് അവന് തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

37. Jesus said unto him Thou hast both seen him and, he that is speaking with thee, is, he.

38. ഉടനെ അവന് കര്ത്താവേ, ഞാന് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

38. And, he, said I believe, Sir! and worshipped him.

39. കാണാത്തവര് കാണ്മാനും കാണുന്നവര് കുരുടര് ആവാനും ഇങ്ങനെ ന്യായവിധിക്കായി ഞാന് ഇഹലോകത്തില് വന്നു എന്നു യേശു പറഞ്ഞു.

39. And Jesus said For judgment, I, unto this world, came: that, they who were not seeing, might see, and, they who were seeing, might become, blind.

40. അവനോടുകൂടെയുള്ള ചില പരീശന്മാര് ഇതു കേട്ടിട്ടു ഞങ്ങളും കുരുടരോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

40. They of the Pharisees who were with him, heard, these things, and said unto him Are, we also, blind?

41. യേശു അവരോടു നിങ്ങള് കുരുടര് ആയിരുന്നു എങ്കില് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു പാപം ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു; എന്നാല്ഞങ്ങള് കാണുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് പറയുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളുടെ പാപം നിലക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

41. Jesus said unto them If, blind, ye had been, ye had not had sin; but, now, ye say, We see, your sin, abideth.
