1. അനന്തരം അവന് അഥേന വിട്ടു കൊരിന്തില് ചെന്നു.

1. After these things, withdrawing from Athens, he came unto Corinth;

2. യെഹൂദന്മാര് എല്ലാവരും റോമനഗരം വിട്ടു പോകണം എന്നു ക്ളൌദ്യൊസ് കല്പിച്ചതു കൊണ്ടു ഇത്തല്യയില് നിന്നു ആ ഇടെക്കു വന്നവനായി പൊന്തൊസ്കാരന് അക്വിലാസ് എന്നു പേരുള്ളോരു യെഹൂദനെയും അവന്റെ ഭാര്യ പ്രിസ്കില്ലയെയും കണ്ടു അവരുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു.

2. and, finding a certain Jew, by name Aquila, of Pontus by birth, lately come from Italy, and Priscilla his wife, because Claudius had ordered all the Jews to be leaving Rome, he came unto them,

3. തൊഴില് ഒന്നാകകൊണ്ടു അവന് അവരോടുകൂടെ പാര്ത്തു വേല ചെയ്തുപോന്നു; തൊഴിലോ കൂടാരപ്പണിയായിരുന്നു.

3. and, because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought, for they were tent-makers by their trade.

4. എന്നാല് ശബ്ബത്ത് തോറും അവന് പള്ളിയില് സംവാദിച്ചു യെഹൂദന്മാരെയും യവനന്മാരെയും സമ്മതിപ്പിച്ചു.

4. And he began reasoning in the synagogue every sabbath, and was persuading both Jews and Greeks.

5. ശീലാസും തിമൊഥെയൊസും മക്കെദോന്യയില് നിന്നു വന്നാറെ പൌലൊസ് വചനഘോഷണത്തില് ശുഷ്കാന്തിപൂണ്ടു യേശു തന്നേ ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാര്ക്കും സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചു.

5. When, however, both Silas and Timothy had come down from Macedonia, Paul began to be urged on in the word, bearing full witness unto the Jews that, Jesus, was, the Christ.

6. അവര് എതിര് പറയുകയും ദുഷിക്കയും ചെയ്കയാല് അവന് വസ്ത്രം കുടഞ്ഞുനിങ്ങളുടെ നാശത്തിന്നു നിങ്ങള് തന്നേ ഉത്തരവാദികള്; ഞാന് നിര്മ്മലന് ഇനിമേല് ഞാന് ജാതികളുടെ അടുക്കല് പോകും എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

6. But, as they began opposing and defaming, shaking out his garments, he said unto them Your blood, be upon your own head! Pure, am, I: henceforth, unto the nations, will I go.

7. അവന് അവിടം വിട്ടു തീത്തൊസ് യുസ്കൊസ് എന്ന ഒരു ദൈവഭക്തന്റെ വീട്ടില് ചെന്നു; അവന്റെ വീടു പള്ളിയോടു തൊട്ടിരുന്നു.

7. And, removing from thence, he came into the house of a certain man by name Titius Justus, who worshipped God, whose house was adjoining unto the synagogue.

8. പള്ളി പ്രമാണിയായ ക്രിസ്പൊസ് തന്റെ സകല കുടുംബത്തോടുംകൂടെ കര്ത്താവില് വിശ്വസിച്ചു; കൊരിന്ത്യരില് അനേകര് വചനം കേട്ടു വിശ്വസിച്ചു സ്നാനം ഏറ്റു.

8. But, Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord, with all his house. And, many of the Corinthians, hearing, were believing, and being immersed.

9. രാത്രിയില് കര്ത്താവു ദര്ശനത്തില് പൌലൊസിനോടുനീ ഭയപ്പെടാതെ പ്രസംഗിക്ക; മിണ്ടാതിരിക്കരുത്; ഞാന് നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടു; ആരും നിന്നെ കയ്യേറ്റം ചെയ്തു ദോഷപ്പെടുത്തുകയില്ല; ഈ പട്ടണത്തില് എനിക്കു വളരെ ജനം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

9. And the Lord said by night, through means of a vision, unto Paul Be not afraid! but be speaking, and do not hold thy peace;

10. അങ്ങനെ അവന് ഒരാണ്ടും ആറുമാസവും അവരുടെ ഇടയില് ദൈവവചനം ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു താമസിച്ചു.

10. Inasmuch as, I, am with thee, and, no one, shall set upon thee to harm thee; inasmuch as I have much people in this city.

11. ഗല്ലിയോന് അഖായയില് ദേശഅധിപതിയായി വാഴുമ്പോള് യെഹൂദന്മാര് പൌലൊസിന്റെ നേരെ ഒരുമനപ്പെട്ടു എഴുന്നേറ്റു, അവനെ ന്യായാസനത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ കൊണ്ടു ചെന്നു

11. And he remained a year and six months, teaching among them the word of God.

12. ഇവന് ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്നു വിരോധമായി ദൈവത്തെ ഭജിപ്പാന് മനുഷ്യരെ സമ്മതിപ്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

12. But, when Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews, with one accord, set upon Paul, and led him unto the judgment-seat,

13. പൌലൊസ് വായ്തുറപ്പാന് ഭാവിക്കുമ്പോള് ഗല്ലിയോന് യെഹൂദന്മാരോടുയെഹൂദന്മാരേ, വല്ല അന്യായമോ വല്ലാത്ത പാതകമോ ആയിരുന്നെങ്കില് ഞാന് ക്ഷമയോടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ സങ്കടം കേള്ക്കുമായിരുന്നു.

13. saying Contrary to the law, is this one seducing men to be worshipping God.

14. വചനത്തെയും നാമങ്ങളെയും നിങ്ങളുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെയും സംബന്ധിച്ചുള്ള തര്ക്കസംഗതികള് എങ്കിലോ നിങ്ങള് തന്നേ നോക്കിക്കൊള്വിന് ; ഈ വകെക്കു ന്യായാധിപതി ആകുവാന് എനിക്കു മനസ്സില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു

14. But, as Paul was about to open his mouth, Gallio said unto the Jews If, indeed, it had been some wrong or wicked recklessness, O Jews, with reason, in that case, should I have been bearing with you.

15. അവരെ ന്യായാസനത്തിങ്കല്നിന്നു പുറത്താക്കി.

15. If, however, they are questions concerning discourse, and names, and law, that which ye have, ye shall see to it, yourselves; A judge of these things, I, am not disposed to be.

16. എല്ലാവരും പള്ളിപ്രമാണിയായ സോസ്ഥനേസിനെ പിടിച്ചു ന്യായാസനത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പില് വെച്ചു അടിച്ചു; ഇതു ഒന്നും ഗല്ലിയോന് കൂട്ടാക്കിയില്ല.

16. And he drove them from the judgment-seat.

17. പൌലൊസ് പിന്നെയും കുറെനാള് പാര്ത്തശേഷം സഹോദരന്മാരോടു യാത്ര പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു, തനിക്കു ഒരു നേര്ച്ച ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതിനാല് കെംക്രയയില് വെച്ചു തല ക്ഷൌരം ചെയ്യിച്ചിട്ടു പ്രിസ്കില്ലയോടും അക്വിലാസിനോടും കൂടെ കപ്പല് കയറി സുറിയയിലേക്കു പുറപ്പെട്ടു

17. But they all, laying hold of Sosthenes the ruler of the synagogue, began to strike him before the judgment-seat; and, for none of these things, did Gallio care.

18. എഫെസോസില് എത്തി അവരെ അവിടെ വിട്ടു, അവന് പള്ളിയില് ചെന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാരോടു സംഭാഷിച്ചു.

18. Paul, however, still further abiding a good many days with the brethren, bidding them adieu, set sail for Syria; and, with him, Priscilla and Aquila; having shorn his head in Cenchreae, for he had a vow.

19. കുറെ കൂടെ താമസിക്കേണം എന്നു അവര് അപേക്ഷിച്ചിട്ടു അവന് സമ്മതിക്കാതെ

19. And they came down to Ephesus; and, as for them, he left them there, but, himself entering into the synagogue, he reasoned with the Jews.

20. ദൈവഹിതമുണ്ടെങ്കില് ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് മടങ്ങിവരും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു വിടവാങ്ങി എഫെസൊസില്നിന്നു കപ്പല് നീക്കി,

20. And, when they requested him for a longer time to abide, he consented not;

21. കൈസര്യയില് വന്നിറങ്ങി, യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു ചെന്നു, സഭയെ വന്ദനം ചെയ്തിട്ടു അന്തൊക്ക്യയിലേക്കു പോയി.

21. but, bidding them adieu, and saying Again, will I return unto you, God willing, he sailed away from Ephesus;

22. അവിടെ കുറെനാള് താമസിച്ച ശേഷം പുറപ്പെട്ടു, ക്രമത്താലെ ഗലാത്യദേശത്തിലും ഫ്രുഗ്യയിലും സഞ്ചരിച്ചു ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ ഒക്കെയും ഉറപ്പിച്ചു.

22. and, putting in at Caesarea, going up and saluting the assembly, went down unto Antioch;

23. അലക്സാന്ത്രിയക്കാരനായി വാഗ്വൈഭവവും തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളില് സാമര്ത്ഥ്യവുമുള്ള അപ്പൊല്ലോസ് എന്നു പേരുള്ളോരു യെഹൂദന് എഫെസോസില് എത്തി.

23. and, spending some time, he went forth, passing through, in order, the country of Galatia and Phrygia, confirming all the disciples.

24. അവന് കര്ത്താവിന്റെ മാര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് ഉപദേശം ലഭിച്ചവന് ആയിരുന്നു; യോഹന്നാന്റെ സ്നാനത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു മാത്രം അറിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു എങ്കിലും ആത്മാവില് എരിവുള്ളവനാകയാല് അവന് യേശുവിന്റെ വസ്തുത സൂക്ഷമമായി പ്രസ്താവിക്കയും ഉപദേശിക്കയും ചെയ്തു.

24. But, a certain Jew, Apollos by name, an Alexandrian by birth, a learned man, came down to Ephesus, being, mighty, in the Scriptures.

25. അവന് പള്ളിയില് പ്രാഗത്ഭ്യത്തോടെ പ്രസംഗിച്ചുതുടങ്ങി; അക്വിലാസും പ്രിസ്കില്ലയും അവന്റെ പ്രസംഗം കേട്ടാറെ അവനെ ചേര്ത്തുകൊണ്ടു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മാര്ഗ്ഗം അധികം സ്പഷ്ടമായി അവന്നു തെളിയിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

25. The same, had been orally taught the way of the Lord, and, being fervent in his spirit, began speaking and teaching accurately, the things concerning Jesus, properly knowing, only the immersion of John.

26. അവന് അഖായയിലേക്കു പോകുവാന് ഇച്ഛിച്ചപ്പോള് സഹോദരന്മാര് അവനെ ഉത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കയും അവനെ കൈക്കൊള്ളേണ്ടിതിന്നു ശിഷ്യന്മാര്ക്കും എഴുതുകയും ചെയ്തു; അവിടെ എത്തിയാറെ അവന് ദൈവകൃപയാല് വിശ്വസിച്ചവര്ക്കും വളരെ പ്രയോജനമായിത്തിര്ന്നു.

26. The same, also began speaking boldly in the synagogue; and Priscilla and Aquila, hearing him, took him unto them, and, more accurately, expounded unto him the way of God.

27. യേശു തന്നേ ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു അവന് തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളാല് തെളിയിച്ചു ബലത്തോടെ യെഹൂദന്മാരെ പരസ്യമായി ഖണ്ഡിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

27. And, he being minded to pass through into Achaia, the brethren urgently wrote unto the disciples to welcome him, who, arriving, was very useful unto them who had believed, with his gift;
