1. ഞങ്ങളെ ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരും ദൈവമര്മ്മങ്ങളുടെ ഗൃഹവിചാരകന്മാരും എന്നിങ്ങനെ ഔരോരുത്തന് എണ്ണിക്കൊള്ളട്ടെ.

1. Let a man so account us as the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.

2. ഗൃഹവിചാരകന്മാരില് അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നതോ അവര് വിശ്വസ്തരായിരിക്കേണം എന്നത്രേ.

2. Moreover it is required in stewards that a man be found faithful.

3. നിങ്ങളോ മനുഷ്യര് കഴിക്കുന്ന വല്ല വിസ്താരത്തിലോ എന്നെ വിധിക്കുന്നതു എനിക്കു എത്രയും ലഘുകാര്യ്യം; ഞാന് എന്നെത്തന്നേ വിധിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

3. But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged�by you, or by man's judgment. Yea, I judge not mine own self.

4. എനിക്കു യാതൊരു കുറ്റത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും ബോധമില്ലെങ്കിലും അതിനാല് ഞാന് നീതിമാന് എന്നു വരികയില്ല; എന്നെ വിധിക്കുന്നതു കര്ത്താവു ആകുന്നു.
സങ്കീർത്തനങ്ങൾ 143:2

4. For I know nothing by myself, yet am I not hereby justified; but He that judgeth me is the Lord.

5. ആകയാല് കര്ത്താവു വരുവോളം സമയത്തിന്നു മുമ്പെ ഒന്നും വിധിക്കരുതു; അവന് ഇരുട്ടില് മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതു വെളിച്ചത്താക്കി ഹൃദയങ്ങളുടെ ആലോചനകളെ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തും; അന്നു ഔരോരുത്തന്നു ദൈവത്തിങ്കല്നിന്നു പുകഴ്ച ഉണ്ടാകും.

5. Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall every man have praise of God.

6. സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ഇതു ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്നിമിത്തം എന്നെയും അപ്പൊല്ലോസിനെയും ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതുഎഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതിന്നു അപ്പുറം (ഭാവിക്കാതിരിപ്പാന് ) ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൃഷ്ടാന്തം കണ്ടു പഠിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും ആരും ഒരുത്തന്നു അനുകൂലമായും മറ്റൊരുവന്നു പ്രതിക്കുലമായും ചീര്ത്തുപോകാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും തന്നേ.

6. And these things, brethren, I have in a sense transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes, that ye may learn through us not to regard men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.

7. നിന്നെ വിശേഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു ആര്? ലഭിച്ചതല്ലാതെ നിനക്കു എന്തുള്ളു? ലഭിച്ചതെങ്കിലോ ലഭിച്ചതല്ല എന്നപോലെ പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? ഇത്ര ക്ഷണത്തില് നിങ്ങള് തൃപ്തന്മാരായി;

7. For who maketh thee to differ from another? And what hast thou that thou did not receive? Now if thou did receive it, why dost thou glory as if thou had not been given it?

8. ഇത്ര ക്ഷണത്തില് നിങ്ങള് സമ്പന്നന്മാരായി; ഞങ്ങളെ കൂടാതെ വാഴുന്നവരായി; അയ്യോ, നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഞങ്ങളും വാഴേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങള് വാണു എങ്കില് കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു.

8. Now ye are full, now ye are rich! Ye have reigned as kings without us! And I would to God ye did reign, that we also might reign with you!

9. ഞങ്ങള് ലോകത്തിന്നു, ദൂതന്മാര്ക്കും മനുഷ്യര്ക്കും തന്നേ, കൂത്തുകാഴ്ചയായി തീര്ന്നിരിക്കയാല് ദൈവം അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരായ ഞങ്ങളെ ഒടുക്കത്തവരായി മരണവിധിയില് ഉള്പ്പെട്ടവരെപ്പോലെ നിറുത്തി എന്നു എനിക്കു തോന്നുന്നു.

9. For I think that God hath set forth us, the apostles, last, as it were approved to death; for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.

10. ഞങ്ങള് ക്രിസ്തുനിമിത്തം ഭോഷന്മാര്; നിങ്ങള് ക്രിസ്തുവില് വിവേകികള്; ഞങ്ങള് ബലഹീനര്, നിങ്ങള് ബലവാന്മാര്; നിങ്ങള് മഹത്തുക്കള്, ഞങ്ങള് മാനഹീനര് അത്രേ.

10. We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honorable, but we are despised.

11. ഈ നാഴികവരെ ഞങ്ങള് വിശന്നും ദാഹിച്ചും ഉടുപ്പാന് ഇല്ലാതെയും കുത്തുകൊണ്ടും സ്ഥിരവാസം കൂടാതെയും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

11. Even unto this present hour we both hunger and thirst, and are naked and are buffeted, and have no certain dwelling place,

12. സ്വന്തകയ്യാല് വേലചെയ്തു അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കുന്നു; ശകാരം കേട്ടിട്ടു ആശീര്വ്വദിക്കുന്നു; ഉപദ്രവം ഏറ്റിട്ടു സഹിക്കുന്നു; ദൂഷണം കേട്ടിട്ടു നല്ലവാക്കു പറയുന്നു.

12. and we labor, working with our own hands. Being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it;

13. being defamed, we entreat. We are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day.

14. നിങ്ങളെ നാണിപ്പിപ്പാനല്ല, എന്റെ പ്രിയ മക്കളോടു എന്നപോലെ ബുദ്ധിപറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടു ഇതു എഴുതുന്നു.

14. I write these things not to shame you, but to warn you as my beloved sons.

15. നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ക്രിസ്തുവില് പതിനായിരം ഗുരുക്കന്മാര് ഉണ്ടെങ്കിലും പിതാക്കന്മാര് ഏറെയില്ല; ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവില് ഞാനല്ലോ നിങ്ങളെ സുവിശേഷത്താല് ജനിപ്പിച്ചതു.

15. For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet ye have not many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the Gospel.

16. ആകയാല് എന്റെ അനുകാരികള് ആകുവിന് എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

16. Therefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.

17. ഇതുനിമിത്തം കര്ത്താവില് വിശ്വസ്തനും എന്റെ പ്രിയ മകനുമായ തിമൊഥെയോസിനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ഞാന് എങ്ങും ഏതു സഭയിലും ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ക്രിസ്തുവിലുള്ള എന്റെ വഴികള് അവന് നിങ്ങളെ ഔര്പ്പിക്കും.

17. For this cause I have sent unto you Timothy, who is my beloved son and faithful in the Lord, who shall put you in remembrance of my ways which are in Christ, as I teach them everywhere in every church.

18. എങ്കിലും ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് വരികയില്ല എന്നുവെച്ചുചിലര് ചീര്ത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

18. Now some are puffed up as though I would not come to you.

19. കര്ത്താവിന്നു ഇഷ്ടം എങ്കില് ഞാന് വേഗം നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു, ചീര്ത്തിരിക്കുന്നവരുടെ വാക്കല്ല ശക്തി തന്നേ കണ്ടറിയും.

19. But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord wills, and will know, not the speech of those who are puffed up, but the power.

20. ദൈവരാജ്യം വചനത്തിലല്ല ശക്തിയിലത്രേ ആകുന്നു.

20. For the Kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.

21. നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഏതു വേണം? ഞാന് വടിയോടുകൂടെയോ സ്നേഹത്തിലും സൌമ്യാത്മാവിലുമോ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് വരേണ്ടതു?

21. What will ye have? Shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love and in the spirit of meekness?
