1. പ്രിയമുള്ളവരേ, ഈ വാഗ്ദത്തങ്ങള് നമുക്കു ഉള്ളതുകൊണ്ടു നാം ജഡത്തിലെയും ആത്മാവിലെയും സകല കന്മഷവും നീക്കി നമ്മെത്തന്നേ വെടിപ്പാക്കി ദൈവഭയത്തില് വിശുദ്ധിയെ തികെച്ചുകൊള്ക.

1. Having therefore these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

2. നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉള്ളില് ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു ഇടം തരുവിന് ; ഞങ്ങള് ആരോടും അന്യായം ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല, ആരെയും കെടുത്തീട്ടില്ല; ആരോടും ഒന്നും വഞ്ചിച്ചെടുത്തിട്ടുമില്ല.

2. Open your+ hearts to us: we wronged no man, we corrupted no man, we took advantage of no man.

3. കുറ്റം വിധിപ്പാനല്ല ഞാന് ഇതു പറയുന്നതു; ഒരുമിച്ചു മരിപ്പാനും ഒരുമിച്ചു ജീവിപ്പാനും നിങ്ങള് ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളില് ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞാന് മുമ്പുതന്നെ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

3. I don't say it to condemn [you+]: for I have said before, that you+ are in our hearts to die together and live together.

4. നിങ്ങളോടു എനിക്കുള്ള പ്രാഗത്ഭ്യം വലിയതു; നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള എന്റെ പ്രശംസ വലിയതു; ഞാന് ആശ്വാസംകൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങളുടെ സകല കഷ്ടതയിലും സന്തോഷം എനിക്കു കവിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

4. Great is my boldness of speech toward you+, great is my glorying on your+ behalf: I am filled with comfort, I overflow with joy in all our affliction.

5. ഞങ്ങള് മക്കെദോന്യയില് എത്തിയ ശേഷവും ഞങ്ങളുടെ ജഡത്തിന്നു ഒട്ടും സുഖമല്ല എല്ലാവിധത്തിലും കഷ്ടമത്രേ ഉണ്ടായതു; പുറത്തു യുദ്ധം, അകത്തു ഭയം.

5. For even when we had come into Macedonia our flesh had no relief, but [we were] afflicted on every side; outside [were] fightings, inside [were] fears.

6. എങ്കിലും എളിയവരെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ദൈവം തീതൊസിന്റെ വരവിനാല് ഞങ്ങളെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിച്ചു.
യെശയ്യാ 49:13

6. Nevertheless he who comforts the lowly, [even] God, comforted us by the coming of Titus;

7. അവന്റെ വരവിനാല് മാത്രമല്ല, അവന്നു നിങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ടു ലഭിച്ച ആശ്വാസത്താലുംകൂടെ; നിങ്ങളുടെ വാഞ്ഛയും നിങ്ങളുടെ വിലാപവും എനിക്കായുള്ള നിങ്ങളുടെ എരിവും ഞങ്ങളോടു അറിയിച്ചതിനാല് തന്നേ. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് അധികമായി സന്തോഷിച്ചു.

7. and not by his coming only, but also by the comfort with which he was comforted in you+, while he told us your+ longing, your+ mourning, your+ zeal for me; so that I rejoiced yet more.

8. ഞാന് ലേഖനത്താല് നിങ്ങളെ ദുഃഖിപ്പിച്ചു എന്നു വരികിലും ഞാന് അനുതപിക്കുന്നില്ല; ആ ലേഖനം നിങ്ങളെ കുറയനേരത്തേക്കെങ്കിലും ദുഃഖിപ്പിച്ചു എന്നു കാണുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു മുമ്പെ അനുതപിച്ചു എങ്കിലും ഇപ്പോള് ഞാന് സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു;

8. For though I made you+ sorry with my letter, I do not regret it: though I did regret [it] (for I see that that letter made you+ sorry, though but for a season),

9. നിങ്ങള് ദുഃഖിച്ചതിനാലല്ല, മാനസാന്തരത്തിന്നായി ദുഃഖിച്ചതിനാല് അത്രേ. നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഞങ്ങളാല് ഒന്നിലും ചേതം വരാതവണ്ണം ദൈവഹിതപ്രകാരമല്ലോ നിങ്ങള് ദുഃഖിച്ചതു.

9. I now rejoice, not that you+ were made sorry, but that you+ were made sorry to repentance; for you+ were made sorry after a godly sort, that you+ might suffer loss by us in nothing.

10. ദൈവഹിതപ്രകാരമുള്ള ദുഃഖം അനുതാപം വരാത്ത മാനസാന്തരത്തെ രക്ഷെക്കായി ഉളവാക്കുന്നു; ലോകത്തിന്റെ ദുഃഖമോ മരണത്തെ ഉളവാക്കുന്നു.

10. For godly sorrow works repentance to salvation, [a repentance] which brings no regret: but the sorrow of the world works death.

11. ദൈവഹിതപ്രകാരം നിങ്ങള്ക്കുണ്ടായ ഈ ദുഃഖം എത്ര ഉത്സാഹം, എത്ര പ്രതിവാദം, എത്ര നീരസം, എത്ര ഭയം, എത്ര വാഞ്ഛ, എത്ര എരിവു, എത്ര പ്രതികാരം നിങ്ങളില് ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; ഈ കാര്യ്യത്തില് നിങ്ങള് നിര്മ്മലന്മാര് എന്നു എല്ലാവിധത്തിലും കാണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

11. For look, this very same thing, that you+ were made sorry after a godly sort, what earnest care it worked in you+, yes what clearing of yourselves, yes what indignation, yes what fear, yes what longing, yes what zeal, yes what avenging! In everything you+ approved yourselves to be pure in the matter.

12. ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എഴുതിയതു അന്യായം ചെയ്തവന് നിമിത്തം അല്ല, അന്യായം അനുഭവിച്ചവന് നിമിത്തവുമല്ല, ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു വേണ്ടിയുള്ള നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉത്സാഹം ദൈവത്തിന് മുമ്പാകെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് വെളിപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ.

12. So although I wrote to you+, [I wrote] not for his cause that did the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered the wrong, but that your+ earnest care for us might be made manifest to you+ in the sight of God.

13. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു ആശ്വാസം വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങളുടെ ആശ്വാസമൊഴികെ തീതൊസിന്റെ മനസ്സിന്നു നിങ്ങളെല്ലാവരാലും തണുപ്പു വന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്നുണ്ടായ സന്തോഷംനിമിത്തം ഞങ്ങള് എത്രയും അധികം സന്തോഷിച്ചു.

13. Therefore we have been comforted: and in our comfort we joyed the more exceedingly for the joy of Titus, because his spirit has been refreshed by all of you+.

14. അവനോടു നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു വല്ലതും പ്രശംസിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കില് ഞാന് ലജ്ജിച്ചു പോയിട്ടില്ല; ഞങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളോടു സകലവും സത്യമായി പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ തീതൊസിനോടു ഞങ്ങള് പ്രശംസിച്ചതും സത്യമായി വന്നു.

14. For if in anything I have gloried to him on your+ behalf, I was not put to shame; but as we spoke all things to you+ in truth, so our glorying also which I made before Titus was found to be truth.

15. അവനെ ഭയത്തോടും വിറയലോടും കൈക്കൊണ്ടതില് നിങ്ങളെല്ലാവരും കാണിച്ച അനുസരണം അവന് ഔര്ക്കുംമ്പോള് നിങ്ങളോടുള്ള അവന്റെ അനുരാഗം അത്യന്തം വര്ദ്ധിക്കുന്നു.

15. And his affection is more abundantly toward you+, while he remembers the obedience of all of you+, how with fear and trembling you+ received him.

16. നിങ്ങളെ സംബന്ധിച്ചു എല്ലാ കാര്യ്യത്തിലും ധൈര്യ്യപ്പെടുവാന് ഇടയുള്ളതിനാല് ഞാന് സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു.

16. I rejoice that in everything I am of good courage concerning you+.
