1. വല്ല ഊനമോ വിരൂപതയോ ഉള്ള കാളയെ എങ്കിലും ആടിനെ എങ്കിലും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കു യാഗം കഴിക്കരുതു; അതു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കു വെറുപ്പു ആകുന്നു.

1. Suppose an ox or sheep has anything at all wrong with it. Then don't sacrifice it to the Lord your God. He hates it.

2. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു തരുന്ന ഏതൊരു പട്ടണത്തിലെങ്കിലും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു അവന്റെ നിയമം ലംഘിക്കയും

2. Someone who is living among you might do what is evil in the sight of the Lord your God. It might happen in one of the towns the Lord is giving you. That person is breaking the Lord's covenant.

3. ഞാന് കല്പിച്ചിട്ടില്ലാത്ത അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെയോ സൂര്യചന്ദ്രന്മാരെയോ ആകാശത്തിലെ ശേഷം സൈന്യത്തെയോ ചെന്നു സേവിച്ചു നമസ്കരിക്കയും ചെയ്ത പുരുഷനെയാകട്ടെ സ്ത്രീയെയാകട്ടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് കണ്ടുപിടിക്കയും

3. The person might have worshiped or bowed down to other gods. That person might have bowed down to the sun or moon or stars in the sky. I have commanded you not to do those things.

4. അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു നിനക്കു അറിവുകിട്ടുകയും ചെയ്താല് നീ നല്ലവണ്ണം ശോധനകഴിച്ചു അങ്ങനെയുള്ള മ്ളേച്ഛത യിസ്രായേലില് നടന്നു എന്നുള്ളതു വാസ്തവവും കാര്യം യഥാര്ത്ഥവും എന്നു കണ്ടാല്

4. When you hear that people have done something like that, check the matter out carefully. If it's true, an evil thing has been done in Israel. It's something the Lord hates.

5. ആ ദുഷ്ടകാര്യം ചെയ്ത പുരുഷനെയോ സ്ത്രീയെയോ പട്ടണവാതിലിന്നു പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോയി കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞു കൊല്ലേണം.

5. So take the person who has done that evil thing to your city gate. Put that person to death with stones.

6. മരണയോഗ്യനായവനെ കൊല്ലുന്നതു രണ്ടോ മൂന്നോ സാക്ഷികളുടെ വാമൊഴിമേല് ആയിരിക്കേണം; ഏകസാക്ഷിയുടെ വാമൊഴിമേല് അവനെ കൊല്ലരുതു.

6. The witness of two or three people is required to put someone to death. No one can be put to death because of what only one witness says. It needs the witness of two or three people.

7. അവനെ കൊല്ലേണ്ടതിന്നു ആദ്യം സാക്ഷികളുടെയും പിന്നെ സര്വ്വജനത്തിന്റെയും കൈ അവന്റെമേല് ചെല്ലേണം; ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് നിന്നു ദോഷം നീക്കിക്കളയേണം.

7. The witnesses must throw the first stones. Then the rest of the people must also throw stones. Get rid of that evil person.

8. നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളില് കുലപാതകമാകട്ടെ വസ്തുസംബന്ധമായ വ്യവഹാരമാകട്ടെ അടികലശലാകട്ടെ ഇങ്ങിനെയുള്ള ആവലാധികാര്യങ്ങളില് വല്ലതും വിധിപ്പാന് നിനക്കു പ്രയാസം ഉണ്ടായാല് നീ പുറപ്പെട്ടു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു പോകേണം.

8. People will bring their cases to your courts. But some cases will be too hard for you to judge. They might be about murders, attacks or other crimes. Then take those hard cases to the place the Lord your God will choose.

9. ലേവ്യരായ പുരേഹിതന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കലും അന്നുള്ള ന്യായാധിപന്റെ അടുക്കലും ചെന്നു ചോദിക്കേണം; അവര് നിനക്കു വിധി പറഞ്ഞുതരും. നിലക്കുന്ന പുരോഹിതന്റെയോ ന്യായാധിപന്റെയോ വാക്കു കേള്ക്കാതെ ആരെങ്കിലും അഹങ്കാരം കാണിച്ചാല് അവന് മരിക്കേണം; ഇങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേലില്നിന്നു ദോഷം നീക്കിക്കളയേണം. രാജാവിനെ എന്റെമേല് ആക്കുമെന്നു പറയുമ്പോള്ാലം ഒക്കെയും അതു വായിക്കയും വേണം.

9. Go to a priest, who is a Levite. And go to the judge who is in office at that time. Ask them for their decision. They will give it to you.
