1. സഹോദരന്റെ കാളയോ ആടോ തെറ്റി ഉഴലുന്നതു നീ കണ്ടാല് അതിനെ വിട്ടു ഒഴിഞ്ഞുകളയാതെ സഹോദരന്റെ അടുക്കല് എത്തിച്ചുകൊടുക്കേണം.

1. YOU SHALL not see your brother's ox or his sheep being driven away or stolen, and hide yourself from [your duty to help] them; you shall surely take them back to your brother. [Prov. 24:12.]

2. സഹോദരന് നിനക്കു സമീപസ്ഥനല്ല, നീ അവനെ അറികയുമില്ല എന്നുവരികില് അതിനെ നിന്റെ വീട്ടില് കൊണ്ടുപോകേണം; സഹോദരന് അതിനെ അന്വേഷിച്ചു വരുംവരെ അതു നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് ഇരിക്കേണം; പിന്നെ അവന്നു മടക്കിക്കൊടുക്കേണം.

2. And if your brother [the owner] is not near you or if you do not know who he is, you shall bring the animal to your house and it shall be with you until your brother comes looking for it; then you shall restore it to him.

3. അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ അവന്റെ കഴുതയുടെയും വസ്ത്രത്തിന്റെയും സഹോദരന്റെ പക്കല്നിന്നു കാണാതെ പോയിട്ടു നീ കണ്ടെത്തിയ ഏതൊരു വസ്തുവിന്റെയും കാര്യത്തില് ചെയ്യേണം; നീ ഒഴിഞ്ഞുകളയേണ്ടതല്ല.

3. And so shall you do with his donkey or his garment or with anything which your brother has lost and you have found. You shall not hide from [your duty concerning] them.

4. സഹോദരന്റെ കഴുതയോ കാളയോ വഴിയില് വീണുകിടക്കുന്നതു നീ കണ്ടാല് വിട്ടു ഒഴിഞ്ഞുകളയാതെ അതിനെ എഴുന്നേല്പിപ്പാന് അവനെ സഹായിക്കേണം.

4. You shall not see your brother's donkey or his ox fall down by the way, and hide from [your duty concerning] them; you shall surely help him to lift them up again.

5. പുരുഷന്റെ വസ്ത്രം സ്ത്രീയും സ്ത്രീയുടൈ വസ്ത്രം പുരുഷനും ധരിക്കരുതു; അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുന്നവരൊക്കെയും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കു വെറുപ്പു ആകുന്നു.

5. The woman shall not wear that which pertains to a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment, for all that do so are an abomination to the Lord your God.

6. മരത്തിന്മേലെങ്കിലും നിലത്തെങ്കിലും കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളോ മുട്ടകളോ ഉള്ള ഒരു പക്ഷിക്കൂടു നീ വഴിയില്വെച്ചു കണ്ടാല് തള്ള കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളിന്മേലോ മുട്ടകളിന്മേലോ ഇരിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് നീ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ തള്ളയെ പിടിക്കരുതു.

6. If a bird's nest should chance to be before you in the way, in any tree or on the ground, with young ones or eggs, and the mother bird is sitting on the young or on the eggs, you shall not take the mother bird with the young.

7. നിനക്കു നന്നായിരിപ്പാനും ദീര്ഘായുസ്സുണ്ടാകുവാനും തള്ളയെ വിട്ടുകളയേണം; കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ എടുത്തുകൊള്ളാം.

7. You shall surely let the mother bird go, and take only the young, that it may be well with you and that you may prolong your days.

8. ഒരു പുതിയ വീടു പണിതാല് നിന്റെ വീട്ടിന്മുകളില്നിന്നു വല്ലവനും വീണിട്ടു വീട്ടിന്മേല് രക്തപാതകം വരാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ അതിന്നു കൈമതില് ഉണ്ടാക്കേണം.

8. When you build a new house, then you shall put a railing around your [flat] roof, so that no one may fall from there and bring guilt of blood upon your house.

9. നിന്റെ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തില് വേറൊരു വക വിത്തും ഇടരുതു; അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്താല് നീ ഇട്ട വിത്തിന്റെ വിളവും മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തിന്റെ അനുഭവവും വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരംവകെക്കു ചേര്ന്നുപോകും.

9. You shall not plant your vineyard with two kinds of seed, lest the whole crop be forfeited [under this ban], the seed which you have sown and the yield of the vineyard forfeited to the sanctuary.

10. കാളയെയും കഴുതയെയും ഒന്നിച്ചു പൂട്ടി ഉഴരുതു.

10. You shall not plow with an ox [a clean animal] and a donkey [unclean] together. [II Cor. 6:14-16.]

11. ആട്ടുരോമവും ചണയും കൂടിക്കലര്ന്ന വസ്ത്രം ധരിക്കരുതു.

11. You shall not wear a garment of mingled stuff, wool and linen together. [Ezek. 44:18; Rev. 19:8.]

12. നീ പുതെക്കുന്ന മേലാടയുടെ നാലു കോണിലും പൊടിപ്പുണ്ടാക്കേണം.

12. You shall make yourself tassels on the four corners of your cloak with which you cover yourself. [Num. 15:37-40.]

13. ഒരു പുരുഷന് ഒരു സ്ത്രീയെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു അവളുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നശേഷം അവളെ വെറുത്തു

13. If any man takes a wife and goes in to her, and then scorns her

14. ഞാന് ഈ സ്ത്രീയെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു അവളുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നാറെ അവളില് കന്യകാലക്ഷണം കണ്ടില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവളുടെ മേല് നാണക്കേടു ചുമത്തി അപവാദം പറഞ്ഞുണ്ടാക്കിയാല്

14. And charges her with shameful things and gives her an evil reputation, and says, I took this woman, but when I came to her, I did not find in her the tokens of a virgin,

15. യുവതിയുടെ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാര് അവളുടെ കന്യകാലക്ഷണങ്ങളെടുത്തു പട്ടണത്തിലെ മൂപ്പന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കല് പട്ടണവാതില്ക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവരേണം.

15. Then the father of the young woman, and her mother, shall get and bring out the tokens of her virginity to the elders of the city at the gate.

16. യുവതിയുടെ അപ്പന് മൂപ്പന്മാരോടുഞാന് എന്റെ മകളെ ഈ പുരുഷന്നു ഭാര്യയായി കൊടുത്തു; എന്നാല് അവന്നു അവളോടു അനിഷ്ടമായിരിക്കുന്നു.

16. And her father shall say to the elders, I gave my daughter to this man as wife, but he hates and spurns her;

17. ഞാന് നിന്റെ മകളില് കന്യകാലക്ഷണം കണ്ടില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവളുടെമേല് നാണക്കേടു ചുമത്തുന്നു; എന്നാല് എന്റെ മകളുടെ കന്യകാലക്ഷണങ്ങള് ഇതാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു പട്ടണത്തിലെ മൂപ്പന്മാരുടെ മുമ്പില് ആ വസ്ത്രം വിടര്ക്കേണം.

17. And behold, he has made shameful charges against her, saying, I found not in your daughter the evidences of her virginity. And yet these are the tokens of my daughter's virginity. And they shall spread the garment before the elders of the city,

18. അപ്പോള് പട്ടണത്തിലെ മൂപ്പന്മാര് ആ പുരുഷനെ പിടിച്ചു ശിക്ഷിക്കേണം.

18. And the elders of that city shall take the man and rebuke and whip him.

19. അവന് യിസ്രായേലില് ഒരു കന്യകയുടെമേല് അപവാദം പറഞ്ഞുണ്ടാക്കിയതിനാല് അവര് അവനെക്കൊണ്ടു നൂറു വെള്ളിക്കാശു പിഴ ചെയ്യിച്ചു യുവതിയുടെ അപ്പന്നു കൊടുക്കേണം; അവള് അവന്നു തന്നേ ഭാര്യയായിരിക്കേണം; അവന്നു തന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലത്തൊരിക്കലും അവളെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകൂടാ.

19. And they shall fine him 100 shekels of silver and give them to the father of the young woman, because he has brought an evil name upon a virgin of Israel. And she shall be his wife; he may not divorce her all his days.

20. എന്നാല് യുവതിയില് കന്യകാലക്ഷണം കണ്ടില്ല എന്നുള്ള വാക്കു സത്യം ആയിരുന്നാല്

20. But if it is true that the evidences of virginity were not found in the young woman,

21. അവര് യുവതിയെ അവളുടെ അപ്പന്റെ വീട്ടുവാതില്ക്കല് കൊണ്ടുപോയി അവള് യിസ്രായേലില് വഷളത്വം പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചു അപ്പന്റെ വീട്ടില്വെച്ചു വേശ്യാദോഷം ചെയ്കകൊണ്ടു അവളുടെ പട്ടണക്കാര് അവളെ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞു കൊല്ലേണം; ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നു ദോഷം നീക്കിക്കളയേണം.

21. Then they shall bring her to the door of her father's house and the men of her city shall stone her to death, because she has wrought [criminal] folly in Israel by playing the harlot in her father's house. So you shall put away the evil from among you.

22. ഒരു പുരുഷന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ സ്ത്രീയോടുകൂടെ ഒരുത്തന് ശയിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടാല് സ്ത്രീയോടുകൂടെ ശയിച്ച പുരുഷനും സ്ത്രീയും ഇരുവരും മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം; ഇങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേലില്നിന്നു ദോഷം നീക്കിക്കളയേണം.

22. If a man is found lying with another man's wife, they shall both die, the man who lay with the woman and the woman. So you shall purge the evil from Israel.

23. വിവാഹനിശ്ചയം കഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന കന്യകയായ ഒരു യുവതിയെ ഒരുത്തന് പട്ടണത്തില്വെച്ചു കണ്ടു അവളോടുകൂടെ ശയിച്ചാല്

23. If a maiden who is a virgin is engaged to be married, and a man finds her in the city and lies with her,

24. യുവതി പട്ടണത്തില് ആയിരുന്നിട്ടും നിലവിളിക്കായ്കകൊണ്ടും പുരുഷന് കൂട്ടുകാരന്റെ ഭാര്യെക്കു പോരായ്ക വരുത്തിയതുകൊണ്ടും നിങ്ങള് അവരെ ഇരുവരെയും പട്ടണവാതില്ക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞു കൊല്ലേണം; ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നു ദോഷം നീക്കിക്കളയേണം.

24. Then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city and shall stone them to death--the young woman because she did not cry for help though she was in the city, and the man because he has violated his neighbor's [promised] wife. So shall you put away evil from among you.

25. എന്നാല് വിവാഹനിശ്ചയം കഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു യുവതിയെ ഒരുത്തന് വയലില് വെച്ചു കണ്ടു ബലാല്ക്കാരംചെയ്തു അവളോടു കൂടെ ശയിച്ചാല് പുരുഷന് മാത്രം മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.

25. But if a man finds the betrothed maiden in the open country and the man seizes her and lies with her, then only the man who lay with her shall die.

26. യുവതിയോടോ ഒന്നും ചെയ്യരുതു; അവള്ക്കു മരണയോഗ്യമായ പാപമില്ല. ഒരുത്തന് കൂട്ടുകാരന്റെ നേരെ കയര്ത്തു അവനെ കൊല്ലുന്നതുപോലെയത്രേ ഈ കാര്യം.

26. But you shall do nothing to the young woman; she has committed no sin punishable by death, for this is as when a man attacks and slays his neighbor,

27. വയലില്വെച്ചല്ലോ അവന് അവളെ കണ്ടെത്തിയതു; യുവതി നിലവിളിച്ചാലും അവളെ രക്ഷിപ്പാന് ആള് ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു.

27. For he came upon her in the open country, and the betrothed girl cried out, but there was no one to save her.

28. വിവാഹനിശ്ചയം കഴിയാത്ത കന്യകയായ ഒരു യുവതിയെ ഒരുത്തന് കണ്ടു അവളെ പിടിച്ചു അവളോടുകൂടെ ശയിക്കയും അവരെ കണ്ടുപിടിക്കയും ചെയ്താല്

28. If a man finds a girl who is a virgin, who is not betrothed, and he seizes her and lies with her and they are found,

29. അവളോടുകൂടെ ശയിച്ച പുരുഷന് യുവതിയുടെ അപ്പന്നു അമ്പതു വെള്ളിക്കാശു കൊടുക്കേണം; അവള് അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയാകയും വേണം. അവന് അവള്ക്കു പോരായ്കവരുത്തിയല്ലോ; അവന്നു തന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലത്തൊരിക്കലും അവളെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകൂടാ.

29. Then the man who lay with her shall give to the girl's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife, because he has violated her; he may not divorce her all his days.

30. അപ്പന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ ആരും പരിഗ്രഹിക്കരുതു; അപ്പന്റെ വസ്ത്രം നീക്കുകയും അരുതു.

30. A man shall not take his father's former wife, nor shall he uncover her who belongs to his father.
