1. സഹോദരന്മാരേ, കാലങ്ങളെയും സമയങ്ങളെയും കുറിച്ചു നിങ്ങളെ എഴുതിയറിയിപ്പാന് ആവശ്യമില്ല.

1. But of the tymes & seasons brethre, ye haue no neede that I write vnto you.

2. കള്ളന് രാത്രിയില് വരുമ്പോലെ കര്ത്താവിന്റെ നാള് വരുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് തന്നേ നന്നായി അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

2. For ye your selues knowe perfectlye that the day of the Lord shall so come euen as a theefe in the nyght.

3. അവര് സമാധാനമെന്നും നിര്ഭയമെന്നും പറയുമ്പോള് ഗര്ഭിണിക്കു പ്രസവ വേദന വരുമ്പോലെ അവര്ക്കും പെട്ടെന്നു നാശം വന്നു ഭവിക്കും; അവര്ക്കും തെറ്റിയൊഴിയാവതുമല്ല.
യിരേമ്യാവു 31:33-34

3. For when they shal say peace & safetie, then shall sodeyne destruction come vppon them, as sorowe vpon a woman with chylde, and they shall not escape.

4. എന്നാല് സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ആനാള് കള്ളന് എന്നപോലെ നിങ്ങളെ പിടിപ്പാന് നിങ്ങള് ഇരുട്ടിലുള്ളവരല്ല;

4. But ye brethren are not in darknesse, that that day shoulde ouertake you as a theefe.

5. നിങ്ങള് എല്ലാവരും വെളിച്ചത്തിന്റെ മക്കളും പകലിന്റെ മക്കളും ആകുന്നു; നാം രാത്രിക്കും ഇരുളിന്നുമുള്ളവരല്ല.

5. Ye are all the chyldren of lyght, and the chyldren of the daye: We are not of the nyght, neither of darkenesse.

6. ആകയാല് നാം ശേഷമുള്ളവരെപ്പോലെ ഉറങ്ങാതെ ഉണര്ന്നും സുബോധമായുമിരിക്ക.

6. Therefore let vs not sleepe, as [do] other: but let vs watche and be sober.

7. ഉറങ്ങുന്നവര് രാത്രിയില് ഉറങ്ങുന്നു. മദ്യപിക്കുന്നവര് രാത്രിയില് മദ്യപിക്കുന്നു.

7. For they that sleepe, sleepe in the night: and they that be druncken, are druncken in the nyght.

8. നാമോ പകലിന്നുള്ളവരാകയാല് വിശ്വാസവും സ്നേഹവും എന്ന കവചവും ശിരസ്ത്രമായി രക്ഷയുടെ പ്രത്യാശയും ധരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു സുബോധമായിരിക്ക.

8. But let vs which are of the day, be sober, puttyng on the brest plate of fayth and loue, and a helmet, the hope of saluation.

9. ദൈവം നമ്മെ കോപത്തിന്നല്ല,

9. For God hath not appoynted vs to wrath: but to obtayne saluation, by our Lorde Iesus Christe,

10. നാം ഉണര്ന്നിരുന്നാലും ഉറങ്ങിയാലും തന്നോടുകൂടെ ജീവിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നമുക്കു വേണ്ടി മരിച്ച നമ്മുടെ കര്ത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുമൂലം രക്ഷയെ പ്രാപിപ്പാനത്രേ നിയമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു.

10. Whiche dyed for vs, that whether we wake or sleepe, we shoulde lyue together with hym.

11. ആകയാല് നിങ്ങള് ചെയ്തുവരുന്നതുപോലെ അന്യോന്യം പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചും തമ്മില് ആത്മിക വര്ദ്ധനവരുത്തിയും പോരുവിന് .

11. Wherefore comfort your selues together, and edifie euery one another, euen as ye do.

12. സഹോദരന്മാരേ, നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കയും കര്ത്താവില് നിങ്ങളെ ഭരിക്കയും പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവരെ അറിഞ്ഞു അവരുടെ വേലനിമിത്തം

12. And we beseche you brethren to know them whiche labour among you, and haue the ouersight of you in the Lorde, and admonishe you:

13. ഏറ്റവും സ്നേഹത്തോടെ വിചാരിക്കേണം എന്നു നിങ്ങളോടു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. തമ്മില് സമാധാനമായിരിപ്പിന് .

13. That ye haue them in hye reputation, in loue for their worke, and be at peace among your selues.

14. സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ഞങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്നതുക്രമം കെട്ടവരെ ബുദ്ധിയുപദേശിപ്പിന് ഉള്ക്കരുത്തില്ലാത്തവരെ ധൈര്യപ്പെടുത്തുവിന് ; ബലഹീനരെ താങ്ങുവിന് ; എല്ലാവരോടും ദീര്ഘക്ഷമ കാണിപ്പിന് .

14. We exhort you brethren, warne them that are vnruly, comfort the feeble mynded, lyft vp the weake, be pacient towarde all men.

15. ആരും തിന്മകൂ പകരം തിന്മ ചെയ്യാതിരിപ്പാന് നോക്കുവിന് ; തമ്മിലും എല്ലാവരോടും എപ്പോഴും നന്മ ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരിപ്പിന് ;

15. See that none recompence euyll for euyll vnto any man: but euer folowe that whiche is good, both among your selues, and to all men.

16. എപ്പോഴും സന്തോഷിപ്പിന് ;

16. Reioyce euer.

17. ഇടവിടാതെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥിപ്പിന്

17. Pray continually.

18. എല്ലാറ്റിന്നും സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്വിന് ; ഇതല്ലോ നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവില് ദൈവേഷ്ടം.

18. In all thinges geue thankes. For this [is] the wyl of God in Christe Iesus towarde you.

19. ആത്മാവിനെ കെടുക്കരുതു.

19. Quenche not the spirite.

20. പ്രവചനം തുച്ഛീകരിക്കരുതു.

20. Despise not prophesiynges.

21. സകലവും ശോധന ചെയ്തു നല്ലതു മുറുകെ പിടിപ്പിന് .

21. Examine all thynges, holde fast that which is good.

22. സകലവിധദോഷവും വിട്ടകലുവിന് .

22. Abstayne from all appearaunce of euyll.

23. സമാധാനത്തിന്റെ ദൈവം തന്നേ നിങ്ങളെ മുഴുവനും ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ; നിങ്ങളുടെ ആത്മാവും പ്രാണനും ദേഹവും അശേഷം നമ്മുടെ കര്ത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ പ്രത്യക്ഷതയില് അനിന്ദ്യമായി വെളിപ്പെടുംവണ്ണം കാക്കപ്പെടുമാറാകട്ടെ.

23. And the very God of peace santifie you throughout [And I pray God] that your whole spirite, and soule, and body, may be preserued blamelesse in the comming of our Lorde Iesus Christe.

24. നിങ്ങളെ വിളിക്കുന്നവന് വിശ്വസ്തന് ആകുന്നു; അവന് അതു നിവര്ത്തിക്കും.

24. Faythfull is he whiche called you, whiche wyll also do it.

25. സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു വേണ്ടി പ്രാര്ത്ഥിപ്പിന് .

25. Brethren, pray for vs.

26. സകല സഹോദരന്മാരെയും വിശുദ്ധചുംബനത്താല് വന്ദനം ചെയ്വിന് .

26. Greete all the brethren in an holy kysse.

27. കര്ത്താവാണ, സഹോദരന്മാരെ ഒക്കെയും ഈ ലേഖനം വായിച്ചു കേള്പ്പിക്കേണം.

27. I charge you in the Lorde, that this epistle be read vnto al the holy brethren.

28. നമ്മുടെ കര്ത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ കൃപ നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ.
