1. ഞാന് ദൈവത്തെയും, ജീവികള്ക്കും മരിച്ചവര്ക്കും ന്യായവിസ്താരം നടത്തുവാനുള്ള ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിനെയും സാക്ഷിവെച്ചു അവന്റെ പ്രത്യക്ഷതയും രാജ്യവും ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്തു കല്പിക്കുന്നതു;

1. I charge [thee], therefore, before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead in his appearing and in his kingdom:

2. വചനം പ്രസംഗിക്ക; സമയത്തിലും അസമയത്തിലും ഒരുങ്ങിനില്ക്ക; സകല ദീര്ഘക്ഷമയോടും ഉപദേശത്തോടുംകൂടെ ശാസിക്ക; തര്ജ്ജനം ചെയ്ക; പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്ക.

2. Preach the word; be instant in season [and] out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

3. അവര് പത്ഥ്യോപദേശം പൊറുക്കാതെ കര്ണ്ണരസമാകുമാറു സ്വന്ത മോഹങ്ങള്ക്കൊത്തവണ്ണം ഉപദേഷ്ടാക്കന്മാരെ പെരുക്കുകയും

3. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but, having itching ears, they shall heap up unto themselves teachers who shall speak to them according to their own lusts,

4. സത്യത്തിന്നു ചെവികൊടുക്കാതെ കെട്ടുകഥ കേള്പ്പാന് തിരികയും ചെയ്യുന്ന കാലം വരും.

4. and thus they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth and shall return unto fables.

5. നീയോ സകലത്തിലും നിര്മ്മദന് ആയിരിക്ക; കഷ്ടം സഹിക്ക; സുവിശേഷകന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിചെയ്ക; നിന്റെ ശുശ്രൂഷ നിറപടിയായി നിവര്ത്തിക്ക.

5. But watch thou in all things, labour, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill thy ministry.

6. ഞാനോ ഇപ്പോള്തന്നേ പാനീയയാഗമായി ഒഴിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു; എന്റെ നിര്യാണകാലവും അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

6. For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my release is at hand.

7. ഞാന് നല്ല പോര് പൊരുതു, ഔട്ടം തികെച്ചു, വിശ്വാസം കാത്തു.

7. I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith;

8. ഇനി നീതിയുടെ കിരീടം എനിക്കായി വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു നീതിയുള്ള ന്യായാധിപതിയായ കര്ത്താവു ആ ദിവസത്തില് എനിക്കു നലകും; എനിക്കു മാത്രമല്ല, അവന്റെ പ്രത്യക്ഷതയില് പ്രിയംവെച്ച ഏവര്ക്കുംകൂടെ.

8. from now on there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day, and not to me only, but unto all those also that love his appearing.

9. വേഗത്തില് എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരുവാന് ഉത്സാഹിക്ക.

9. Procure to come shortly unto me;

10. ദേമാസ് ഈ ലോകത്തെ സ്നേഹിച്ചിട്ടു എന്നെ വിട്ടു തെസ്സലൊനീക്കയിലേക്കു പോയി. ക്രേസ്കേസ് ഗലാതെക്കും തീതൊസ് ദല്മാത്യെക്കും പോയി;

10. for Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.

11. ലൂക്കൊസ് മാത്രമേ എന്നോടുകൂടെ ഉള്ളൂ; മക്കൊസ് എനിക്കു ശുശ്രൂഷെക്കായി ഉപയോഗമുള്ളവന് ആകയാല് അവനെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു വരിക.

11. Only Luke is with me. Take Mark and bring him with thee, for he is profitable to me for the ministry.

12. തിഹിക്കൊസിനെ ഞാന് എഫെസോസിലേക്കു അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

12. And Tychicus I have sent to Ephesus.

13. ഞാന് ത്രോവാസില് കര്പ്പൊസിന്റെ പക്കല് വെച്ചേച്ചു പോന്ന പുതപ്പും പുസ്തകങ്ങളും വിശേഷാല് ചര്മ്മലിഖിതങ്ങളും നീ വരുമ്പോള് കൊണ്ടുവരിക.

13. The cloak that I left at Troas in the house of Carpus, when thou comest, bring [with thee] and the books, [but] especially the parchments.

14. Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:

15. of whom be thou ware also; for he has greatly resisted our words.

16. എന്റെ ഒന്നാം പ്രതിവാദത്തില് ആരും എനിക്കു തുണ നിന്നില്ല; എല്ലാവരും എന്നെ കൈവിട്ടു; അതു അവര്ക്കും കണക്കിടാതിരിക്കട്ടെ.

16. At my first answer no one stood with me, but all [men] forsook me: let it not be imputed unto them.

17. കര്ത്താവോ എനിക്കു തുണനിന്നു പ്രസംഗം എന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു നിവര്ത്തിപ്പാനും സകല ജാതികളും കേള്പ്പാനും എന്നെ ശക്തീകരിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ ഞാന് സിംഹത്തിന്റെ വായില്നിന്നു രക്ഷ പ്രാപിച്ചു.

17. But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, that by me the preaching might be fully known and [that] all the Gentiles might hear, and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

18. And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work and will save me for his heavenly kingdom, to whom [be] glory for ever and ever. Amen.

20. Erastus remained at Corinth, but Trophimus I have left at Miletum sick.

21. ശീതകാലത്തിന്നു മുമ്പെ വരുവാന് ശ്രമിക്ക. യൂബൂലൊസും പൂദെസും ലീനൊസും ക്ളൌദിയയും സഹോദരന്മാര് എല്ലാവരും നിനക്കു വന്ദനം ചൊല്ലുന്നു.

21. Procure to come before winter. Eubulus greets thee, and Pudens and Linus and Claudia and all the brethren.

22. യേശുക്രിസ്തു നിന്റെ ആത്മാവോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കട്ടെ. കൃപ നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ.

22. The Lord Jesus Christ [be] with thy spirit. Grace [be] with you. Amen.:
