1. സഹോദരന്മാരേ, തേജസ്സുള്ളവനായി നമ്മുടെ കര്ത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവില് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന നിങ്ങള് മുഖപക്ഷം കാണിക്കരുതു.
ഇയ്യോബ് 34:19, സങ്കീർത്തനങ്ങൾ 24:7-10

1. My brethren, do not have the faith of our Lord Jesus, the glorious Christ, with respect of persons.

2. നിങ്ങളുടെ പള്ളിയില് മോടിയുള്ള വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചും പൊന്മോതിരം ഇട്ടുംകൊണ്ടു ഒരുത്തനും മുഷിഞ്ഞ വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചോരു ദരിദ്രനും വന്നാല്

2. For if a man with a gold ring and in precious apparel comes into your synagogue and a poor person in vile raiment also comes in,

3. നിങ്ങള് മോടിയുള്ള വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചവനെ നോക്കിഇവിടെ സുഖേന ഇരുന്നാലും എന്നും ദരിദ്രനോടുനീ അവിടെ നില്ക്ക; അല്ലെങ്കില് എന്റെ പാദപീഠത്തിങ്കല് ഇരിക്ക എന്നും പറയുന്നു എങ്കില്

3. and ye have respect to him that wears the precious clothing and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there or sit here under my footstool:

4. Are ye not then judging in yourselves and are become judges of evil thoughts?

5. പ്രിയ സഹോദരന്മാരേ, കേള്പ്പിന് ദൈവം ലോകത്തില് ദരിദ്രരായവരെ വിശ്വാസത്തില് സമ്പന്നരും തന്നേ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും വാഗ്ദത്തം ചെയ്ത രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ അവകാശികളുമാകേണ്ടതിന്നു തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തില്ലയോ? നിങ്ങളോ ദരിദ്രനെ അപമാനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

5. Hearken, my beloved brethren, Has not God chosen the poor of this world [that they might be] rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which he has promised to those that love him?

6. ധനവാന്മാര് അല്ലയോ നിങ്ങളെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു? അവര് അല്ലയോ നിങ്ങളെ ന്യായസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലേക്കു ഇഴെച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നതു?

6. But ye have despised the poor. Do not the rich oppress you with tyranny and draw you [with violence] to the courts?

7. നിങ്ങളുടെമേല് വിളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന നല്ല നാമത്തെ അവര് അല്ലയോ ദുഷിക്കുന്നതു?

7. Do they not blaspheme that worthy name by which ye are called?

8. എന്നാല് “കൂട്ടുകാരനെ നിന്നെപ്പോലെ തന്നേ സ്നേഹിക്കേണം” എന്ന തിരുവെഴുത്തിന്നു ഒത്തവണ്ണം രാജകീയന്യായപ്രമാണം നിങ്ങള് നിവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് നന്നു.

8. If ye truly fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well;

10. For whosoever shall have kept the whole law, and then offends in one [point] is made guilty of all.

11. വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചവന് കുല ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നും കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. നീ വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലെങ്കിലും കുല ചെയ്യുന്നു എങ്കില് ന്യായപ്രമാണം ലംഘിക്കുന്നവനായിത്തീര്ന്നു.

11. For he that said, Thou shalt not commit adultery, said also, Thou shalt not murder. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou [commit] murder, thou art become a transgressor of the law.

12. സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്താല് വിധിക്കപ്പെടുവാനുള്ളവരെപ്പോലെ സംസാരിക്കയും പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കയും ചെയ്വിന് .

12. So speak ye and so do as those that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

13. കരുണ കാണിക്കാത്തവന്നു കരുണയില്ലാത്ത ന്യായവിധി ഉണ്ടാകും; കരുണ ന്യായവിധിയെ ജയിച്ചു പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നു.

13. For judgment without mercy shall be done unto the one that has showed no mercy; and mercy boasts against judgment.

14. സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ഒരുത്തന് തനിക്കു വിശ്വാസം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറകയും പ്രവൃത്തികള് ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്താല് ഉപകാരം എന്തു? ആ വിശ്വാസത്താല് അവന് രക്ഷ പ്രാപിക്കുമോ?

14. My brethren, What shall it profit though someone says [that] they have faith and do not have works? Shall this type of faith be able to save them?

15. ഒരു സഹോദരനോ, സഹോദരിയോ നഗ്നരും അഹോവൃത്തിക്കു വക ഇല്ലാത്ത വരുമായിരിക്കെ നിങ്ങളില് ഒരുത്തന് അവരോടു

15. If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food,

16. സമാധാനത്തോടെ പോയി തീ കായുകയും വിശപ്പടക്കുകയും ചെയ്വിന് എന്നു പറയുന്നതല്ലാതെ ദേഹരക്ഷെക്കു ആവശ്യമുള്ളതു അവര്ക്കും കൊടുക്കാതിരുന്നാല് ഉപകാരം എന്തു?

16. and one of you says unto them, Depart in peace; be [ye] warmed and filled; but ye do not give them those things which are needful for the body; what [shall it] profit them?

17. അങ്ങനെ വിശ്വാസവും പ്രവൃത്തികളില്ലാത്തതായാല് സ്വതവെ നിര്ജ്ജീവമാകുന്നു.

17. Even so faith, if it does not have works, is dead in and of itself.

18. എന്നാല് ഒരുത്തന് നിനക്കു വിശ്വാസം ഉണ്ടു; എനിക്കു പ്രവൃത്തികള് ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറയുമായിരിക്കും. നിന്റെ വിശ്വാസം പ്രവൃത്തികള് കൂടാതെ കാണിച്ചുതരിക; ഞാനും എന്റെ വിശ്വാസം പ്രവൃത്തികളാല് കാണിച്ചു തരാം.

18. But someone may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works; show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works.

19. ദൈവം ഏകന് എന്നു നീ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നുവോ; കൊള്ളാം; പിശാചുകളും അങ്ങനെ വിശ്വസിക്കയും വിറെക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

19. Thou believest that God is one; thou doest well; the demons also believe and tremble.

20. വ്യര്ത്ഥമനുഷ്യാ, പ്രവൃത്തിയില്ലാത്ത വിശ്വാസം നിഷ്ഫലമെന്നു ഗ്രഹിപ്പാന് നിനക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ടോ?

20. But, O vain man, dost thou desire to know that faith without works is dead?

21. നമ്മുടെ പിതാവായ അബ്രാഹാം തന്റെ മകനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിനെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേല് അര്പ്പിച്ചിട്ടു പ്രവൃത്തിയാല് അല്ലയോ നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടതു?

21. Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered his son Isaac upon the altar?

22. അവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിയോടുകൂടെ വിശ്വാസം വ്യാപരിച്ചു എന്നും പ്രവൃത്തിയാല് വിശ്വാസം പൂര്ണ്ണമായി എന്നും നീ കാണുന്നുവല്ലോ.

22. Dost thou not see how the faith worked together with his works, and the faith was complete by the works?

23. അബ്രാഹാം ദൈവത്തെ വിശ്വസിക്കയും അതു അവന്നു നീതിയായി കണക്കിടുകയും ചെയ്തു എന്നുള്ള തിരുവെഴുത്തു നിവൃത്തിയായി അവന് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സ്നേഹിതന് എന്നു പേര് പ്രാപിച്ചു.

23. And that the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness, and he was called the Friend of God.

24. അങ്ങനെ മനുഷ്യന് വെറും വിശ്വാസത്താലല്ല പ്രവൃത്തികളാല് തന്നേ നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് കാണുന്നു.

24. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not only by faith.

25. അവ്വണ്ണം രാഹാബ് എന്ന വേശ്യയും ദൂതരെ കൈക്കൊള്കയും വേറൊരു വഴിയായി പറഞ്ഞയക്കയും ചെയ്തതില് പ്രവൃത്തികളാല് അല്ലയോ നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടതു?
യോശുവ 2:4, യോശുവ 2:15, യോശുവ 6:17

25. Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she received the messengers and sent [them] out another way?

26. ഇങ്ങനെ ആത്മാവില്ലത്ത ശരീരം നിര്ജ്ജീവമായിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ പ്രവൃത്തിയില്ലാത്ത വിശ്വാസവും നിര്ജ്ജീവമാകുന്നു.

26. For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.:
