1. യഹോവ ചുറ്റുമുള്ള സകലശത്രുക്കളെയും അടക്കി യിസ്രായേലിന്നു സ്വസ്ഥത നല്കി ഏറെക്കാലം കഴിഞ്ഞു യോശുവ വയസ്സു ചെന്നു വൃദ്ധന് ആയശേഷം

1. And it came to pass a long time after that Jehovah had given rest to Israel from all their enemies round about, and Joshua had become old, advanced in age,

2. യോശുവ എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിനെയും അവരുടെ മൂപ്പന്മാരെയും പ്രധാനികളെയും ന്യായാധിപന്മാരെയും പ്രമാണികളെയും വിളിച്ചു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്ഞാന് വയസ്സുചെന്നു വൃദ്ധന് ആയിരിക്കുന്നു.

2. that Joshua called for all Israel, for their elders, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers, and said unto them, I am become old, advanced in age;

3. നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളുടെ നിമിത്തം ഈ സകലജാതികളോടും ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും നിങ്ങള് കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തന്നെയല്ലോ നിങ്ങള്ക്കുവേണ്ടി യുദ്ധംചെയ്തതു.

3. and ye have seen all that Jehovah your God hath done to all these nations because of you. For Jehovah your God is he that hath fought for you.

4. ഇതാ, യോര്ദ്ദാന് മുതല് പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ടു മഹാസമുദ്രംവരെ ശേഷിപ്പുള്ള ജാതികളുടെയും ഞാന് സംഹരിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിട്ടുള്ള സകലജാതികളുടെയും ദേശം നിങ്ങളുടെ ഗോത്രങ്ങള്ക്കു അവകാശമായി നറുക്കിട്ടു വിഭാഗിച്ചുതന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

4. Behold, I have divided unto you by lot for an inheritance, according to your tribes, these nations that remain, from the Jordan, as well as all the nations that I have cut off, as far as the great sea toward the sun-setting.

5. നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തന്നേ അവരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു ഔടിച്ചു നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിയില് നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളയും; നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്തതു പോലെ നിങ്ങള് അവരുടെ ദേശം കൈവശമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.

5. And Jehovah your God, he will expel them from before you, and dispossess them from out of your sight; and ye shall take possession of their land, as Jehovah your God hath said unto you.

6. ആകയാല് മോശെയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണപുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും പ്രമാണിച്ചുനടപ്പാനും അതില്നിന്നു വലത്തോട്ടെങ്കിലും ഇടത്തോട്ടെങ്കിലും മാറാതിരിപ്പാനും ഏറ്റവും ഉറപ്പുള്ളവരായിരിപ്പിന് .

6. And be ye very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that ye turn not aside therefrom to the right hand or to the left;

7. നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ ജാതികളോടു നിങ്ങള് ഇടകലരരുതു; അവരുടെ ദേവന്മാരുടെ നാമം ജപിക്കയും അതു ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്കയും അരുതു; അവയെ സേവിക്കയും നമസ്കരിക്കയും അരുതു.

7. that ye enter not among these nations, these that remain among you; and ye shall make no mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear [by them], neither serve them, nor bow yourselves unto them;

8. നിങ്ങള് ഇന്നുവരെ ചെയ്തതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയോടു പറ്റിച്ചേര്ന്നിരിപ്പിന് .

8. but ye shall cleave unto Jehovah your God, as ye have done unto this day.

9. യഹോവ നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു വലിപ്പവും ബലവുമുള്ള ജാതികളെ നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു; ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്നും ഇന്നുവരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില് നില്പാന് കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ല.

9. For Jehovah hath dispossessed from before you great and strong nations; and as to you, no man hath been able to stand before you unto this day.

10. നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്തതുപോലെ താന്തന്നേ നിങ്ങള്ക്കുവേണ്ടി യുദ്ധംചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളില് ഒരുത്തന് ആയിരം പേരെ ഔടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

10. One man of you chaseth a thousand; for Jehovah your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath said unto you.

11. അതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ സ്നേഹിപ്പാന് പൂര്ണ്ണമനസ്സോടെ ഏറ്റവും ജാഗ്രതയായിരിപ്പിന് .

11. Take great heed therefore unto your souls, that ye love Jehovah your God.

12. അല്ലാതെ നിങ്ങള് വല്ലപ്രകാരവും പിന്തിരിഞ്ഞുനിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിലുള്ള ഈ ശേഷം ജാതികളോടു ചേര്ന്നു വിവാഹസംബന്ധം ചെയ്കയും നിങ്ങള് അവരോടും അവര് നിങ്ങളോടും ഇടകലരുകയും ചെയ്താല്

12. For if ye in any wise go back, and cleave unto the residue of these nations, these that remain among you, and make marriages with them, and come in unto them and they unto you:

13. നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ മേലാല് ഈ ജാതികളെ നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളകയില്ലെന്നും നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ നല്ലദേശത്തുനിന്നു നിങ്ങള് നശിച്ചുപോകുംവരെ അവര് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു കുടുക്കും കണിയും വിലാപ്പുറത്തു ചുമ്മട്ടിയും കണ്ണില് മുള്ളും ആയിരിക്കുമെന്നു അറിഞ്ഞുകൊള്വിന് .

13. know for a certainty that Jehovah your God will no more dispossess these nations from before you, and they shall be snares and traps unto you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until ye perish from off this good land which Jehovah your God hath given you.

14. ഇതാ, ഞാന് ഇന്നു സകലഭൂവാസികളുടെയും വഴിയായി പോകുന്നു; നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ള സകലനന്മകളിലുംവെച്ചു ഒന്നിന്നും വീഴ്ചവന്നിട്ടില്ലെന്നു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു പൂര്ണ്ണഹൃദയത്തിലും പൂര്ണ്ണമനസ്സിലും ബോധമായിരിക്കുന്നു; സകലവും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു സംഭവിച്ചു ഒന്നിന്നും വീഴ്ചവന്നിട്ടില്ല.

14. And behold, I am going this day the way of all the earth; and ye know in all your heart, and in all your soul, that not one thing hath failed of all the good words that Jehovah your God hath spoken concerning you: all are come to pass unto you -- not one thing hath failed thereof.

15. നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ള എല്ലാനന്മകളും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു സംഭവിച്ചതുപോലെ തന്നേ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ നല്ലദേശത്തുനിന്നു നിങ്ങളെ നശിപ്പിക്കുംവരെ യഹോവ എല്ലാതിന്മകളും നിങ്ങളുടെമേല് വരുത്തും.

15. But it shall come to pass, that as every good word hath been fulfilled to you, that Jehovah your God spoke to you, so will Jehovah bring upon you every evil word, until he have destroyed you from off this good land which Jehovah your God hath given you;

16. നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള അവന്റെ നിയമം നിങ്ങള് ലംഘിക്കയും ചെന്നു അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ സേവിച്ചു നമസ്കരിക്കയും ചെയ്താല് യഹോവയുടെ കോപം നിങ്ങളുടെ നേരെ ജ്വലിക്കും; അവന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തന്നിട്ടുള്ള ഈ നല്ലദേശത്തുനിന്നു നിങ്ങള് വേഗം നശിച്ചുപോകയും ചെയ്യും.

16. when ye transgress the covenant of Jehovah your God which he commanded you, and go and serve other gods, and bow yourselves unto them, so that the anger of Jehovah shall be kindled against you, and ye shall perish quickly from off the good land which he hath given unto you.
