1. അനന്തരം യോശുവ യിസ്രായേല് ഗോത്രങ്ങളെയെല്ലാം ശേഖേമില് കൂട്ടി; യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ മൂപ്പന്മാരെയും തലവന്മാരെയും ന്യായാധിപന്മാരെയും പ്രമാണികളെയും വിളിച്ചു; അവര് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് വന്നുനിന്നു.

1. And Ioshua assembled againe all the tribes of Israel to Shechem, and called the Elders of Israel, and their heades, and their iudges, and their officers, and they presented themselues before God.

2. അപ്പോള് യോശുവ സര്വ്വ ജനത്തോടും പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരായ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെയും നാഹോരിന്റെയും പിതാവായ തേറഹ് പണ്ടു നദിക്കക്കരെ പാര്ത്തു അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ സേവിച്ചു പോന്നു.

2. Then Ioshua said vnto all the people, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Your fathers dwelt beyond the flood in olde time, euen Terah the father of Abraham, and the father of Nachor, and serued other gods.

3. എന്നാല് ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവായ അബ്രാഹാമിനെ നദിക്കക്കരെനിന്നുകൊണ്ടുവന്നു കനാന് ദേശത്തൊക്കെയും സഞ്ചരിപ്പിച്ചു അവന്റെ സന്തതിയെ വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കയും അവന്നു യിസ്ഹാക്കിനെ കൊടുക്കയും ചെയ്തു.

3. And I tooke your father Abraham from beyond the flood, and brought him through all the land of Canaan, and multiplied his seede, and gaue him Izhak.

4. യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്നു ഞാന് യാക്കോബിനെയും ഏശാവിനെയും കൊടുത്തു; ഏശാവിന്നു ഞാന് സേയീര്പര്വ്വതം അവകാശമായി കൊടുത്തു; എന്നാല് യാക്കോബും അവന്റെ മക്കളും മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു പോയി.

4. And I gaue vnto Izhak, Iaakob and Esau: and I gaue vnto Esau mount Seir, to possesse it: but Iaakob and his children went downe into Egypt.

5. പിന്നെ ഞാന് മോശെയെയും അഹരോനെയും അയച്ചു; ഞാന് മിസ്രയീമില് പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ച പ്രവൃത്തികളാല് അതിനെ ബാധിച്ചു; അതിന്റെ ശേഷം നിങ്ങളെ പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു.

5. I sent Moses also and Aaron, and I plagued Egypt: and when I had so done among them, I brought you out.

6. അങ്ങനെ ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെ മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു; നിങ്ങള് കടലിന്നരികെ എത്തി; മിസ്രയീമ്യര് രഥങ്ങളോടും കുതിരകളോടുംകൂടെ ചെങ്കടല്വരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെ പിന് തുടര്ന്നു;

6. So I brought your fathers out of Egypt, and ye came vnto the Sea, and the Egyptians pursued after your fathers with charets and horsemen vnto the red sea.

7. അവര് യഹോവയോടു നിലവിളിച്ചപ്പോള് അവന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കും മിസ്രയീമ്യര്ക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ അന്ധകാരം വെച്ചു കടല് അവരുടെമേല് വരുത്തി അവരെ മുക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു; ഇങ്ങനെ ഞാന് മിസ്രയീമ്യരോടു ചെയ്തതു നിങ്ങള് കണ്ണാലെ കണ്ടു; നിങ്ങള് ഏറിയ കാലം മരുഭൂമിയില് കഴിച്ചു.

7. Then they cryed vnto the Lord, and he put a darkenesse betweene you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea vpon them, and couered them: so your eyes haue seene what I haue done in Egypt also ye dwelt in the wildernesse a long season.

8. പിന്നെ ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ യോര്ദ്ദാന്നക്കരെ പാര്ത്തിരുന്ന അമോര്യ്യരുടെ ദേശത്തേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവന് നിങ്ങളോടു യുദ്ധംചെയ്തു; നിങ്ങള് അവരുടെ ദേശം കൈവശമാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് അവരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിച്ചു, നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

8. After, I brought you into the land of the Amorites, which dwelt beyond Iorden, and they fought with you: but I gaue them into your hand, and ye possessed their countrey, and I destroyed them out of your sight.

9. അനന്തരം സിപ്പോരിന്റെ മകന് മോവാബ്യരാജാവായ ബാലാക് പുറപ്പെട്ടു യിസ്രായേലിനോടു യുദ്ധംചെയ്തു; നിങ്ങളെ ശപിപ്പാന് ബെയോരിന്റെ മകനായ ബിലെയാമിനെ വിളിപ്പിച്ചു.

9. Also Balak the sonne of Zippor King of Moab arose and warred against Israel, and sent to call Balaam the sonne of Beor for to curse you,

10. എങ്കിലും എനിക്കു ബിലെയാമിന്റെ അപേക്ഷ കേള്പ്പാന് മനസ്സില്ലായ്കയാല് അവന് നിങ്ങളെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു; ഇങ്ങനെ ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ അവന്റെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു വിടുവിച്ചു.

10. But I would not heare Balaam: therefore he blessed you, and I deliuered you out of his hand.

11. പിന്നെ നിങ്ങള് യോര്ദ്ദാന് കടന്നു യെരീഹോവിലേക്കു വന്നു; യെരീഹോ നിവാസികള്, അമോര്യ്യര്, പെരിസ്യര്, കനാന്യര്, ഹിത്യര്, ഗിര്ഗ്ഗസ്യര്, ഹിവ്യര്, യെബൂസ്യര് എന്നിവര് നിങ്ങളോടു യുദ്ധംചെയ്തു; ഞാന് അവരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിച്ചു.

11. And ye went ouer Iorden, and came vnto Iericho, and the men of Iericho fought against you, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Girgashites, the Hiuites and the Iebusites, and I deliuered them into your hand.

12. ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില് കടുന്നലിനെ അയച്ചു; അതു നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു അമോര്യ്യരുടെ ആ രണ്ടു രാജാക്കന്മാരെ ഔടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; നിന്റെ വാളുകൊണ്ടല്ല, നിന്റെ വില്ലുകെണ്ടും അല്ല.

12. And I sent hornets before you, which cast them out before you, euen the two kings of the Amorites, and not with thy sword, nor with thy bow.

13. നിങ്ങള് പ്രയത്നം ചെയ്യാത്ത ദേശവും നിങ്ങള് പണിയാത്ത പട്ടണങ്ങളും ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തന്നു; നിങ്ങള് അവയില് പാര്ക്കുംന്നു; നിങ്ങള് നട്ടിട്ടില്ലാത്ത മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടങ്ങളും ഒലിവുതോട്ടങ്ങളും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു അനുഭവമായിരിക്കുന്നു.

13. And I haue giuen you a land, wherein ye did not labour, and cities which ye built not, and yee dwell in them, and eate of the vineyards and oliue trees, which yee planted not.

14. ആകയാല് നിങ്ങള് യഹോവയെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു അവനെ പരമാര്ത്ഥതയോടും വിശ്വസ്തതയോടുംകൂടെ സേവിപ്പിന് . നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര് നദിക്കക്കരെയും മിസ്രയീമിലുംവെച്ചു സേവിച്ച ദേവന്മാരെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കയും യഹോവയെത്തന്നേ സേവിക്കയും ചെയ്വിന് .

14. Nowe therefore feare the Lord, and serue him in vprightnesse and in trueth, and put away the gods, which your fathers serued beyonde the flood and in Egypt, and serue the Lord.

15. യഹോവയെ സേവിക്കുന്നതു നന്നല്ലെന്നു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തോന്നുന്നെങ്കില് നദിക്കക്കരെവെച്ചു നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര് സേവിച്ച ദേവന്മാരെയോ നിങ്ങള് പാര്ത്തുവരുന്ന ദേശത്തിലെ അമോര്യ്യരുടെ ദേവന്മാരെയോ ആരെ സേവിക്കും എന്നു ഇന്നു തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തുകൊള്വിന് . ഞാനും എന്റെ കുടുംബവുമോ, ഞങ്ങള് യഹോവയെ സേവിക്കും.

15. And if it seeme euill vnto you to serue the Lord, choose you this day whome yee will serue, whether the gods which your fathers serued (that were beyond the flood) or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwel: but I and mine house will serue the Lord.

16. അതിന്നു ജനം ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതുയഹോവയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ സേവിപ്പാന് ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു സംഗതി വരരുതേ.

16. Then the people answered and saide, God forbid, that we shoulde forsake the Lord, to serue other gods.

17. ഞങ്ങളെയും ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെയും അടിമവീടായ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു ഞങ്ങള് കാണ്കെ ആ വലിയ അടയാളങ്ങള് പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കയും ഞങ്ങള് നടന്ന എല്ലാവഴിയിലും ഞങ്ങള് കടന്നുപോന്ന സകലജാതികളുടെ ഇടയിലും ഞങ്ങളെ രക്ഷിക്കയും ചെയ്തവന് ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തന്നേയല്ലോ.

17. For the Lord our God, he brought vs and our fathers out of the lande of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and he did those great miracles in our sight, and preserued vs in all the way that we went, and among all the people through whome we came.

18. ദേശത്തു പാര്ത്തിരുന്ന അമോര്യ്യര് മുതലായ സകലജാതികളെയും യഹോവ ഞങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു; ആകയാല് ഞങ്ങളും യഹോവയെ സേവിക്കും; അവനല്ലോ ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവം.

18. And the Lord did cast out before vs all the people, euen the Amorites which dwelt in the lande: therefore will we also serue the Lord, for he is our God.

19. യോശുവ ജനത്തോടു പറഞ്ഞതുനിങ്ങള്ക്കു യഹോവയെ സേവിപ്പാന് കഴിയുന്നതല്ല; അവന് പരിശുദ്ധദൈവം; അവന് തീക്ഷണതയുള്ള ദൈവം; അവന് നിങ്ങളുടെ അതിക്രമങ്ങളെയും പാപങ്ങളെയും ക്ഷമിക്കയില്ല.

19. And Ioshua saide vnto the people, Ye can not serue the Lord: for he is an holie God: he is a ielous God: hee will not pardon your iniquitie nor your sinnes.

20. നിങ്ങള് യഹോവയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ സേവിച്ചാല് മുമ്പെ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു നന്മചെയ്തതുപോലെ അവന് തിരിഞ്ഞു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തിന്മചെയ്തു നിങ്ങളെ സംഹരിക്കും.

20. If yee forsake the Lord and serue strange gods, then he will returne and bring euill vpon you, and consume you, after that hee hath done you good.

21. ജനം യോശുവയോടുഅല്ല, ഞങ്ങള് യഹോവയെത്തന്നേ സേവിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

21. And the people saide vnto Ioshua, Nay, but we will serue the Lord.

23. ആകയാല് ഇപ്പോള് നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിലുള്ള അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയിങ്കലേക്കു നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയം ചായിപ്പിന് എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

23. Then put away nowe, saide he, the strange gods which are among you, and bowe your hearts vnto the Lord God of Israel.

24. ജനം യോശുവയോടുഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ഞങ്ങള് സേവിക്കും; അവന്റെ വാക്കു ഞങ്ങള് അനുസരിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

24. And ye people saide vnto Ioshua, The Lord our God wil we serue, and his voyce wil we obey.

25. അങ്ങനെ യോശുവ അന്നു ജനവുമായി ഒരു നിയമം ചെയ്തു; അവര്ക്കും ശെഖേമില് വെച്ചു ഒരു ചട്ടവും പ്രമാണവും നിശ്ചയിച്ചു.

25. So Ioshua made a couenant with the people the same day, and gaue them an ordinance and lawe in Shechem.

26. പിന്നെ യോശുവ ഈ വചനങ്ങള് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണപുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതി; ഒരു വലിയ കല്ലെടുത്തു അവിടെ യഹോവയുടെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തിന്നരികെയുള്ള കരുവേലകത്തിന് കീഴെ നാട്ടിയുംവെച്ചു യോശുവ സകലജനത്തോടും

26. And Ioshua wrote these woordes in the booke of the Lawe of God, and tooke a great stone, and pitched it there vnder an oke that was in the Sanctuarie of the Lord.

27. ഇതാ, ഈ കല്ലു നമുക്കു സാക്ഷിയായിരിക്കട്ടെ; അതു യഹോവ നമ്മോടു കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള വചനങ്ങളൊക്കെയും കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; ആകയാല് നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തെ നിങ്ങള് നിഷേധിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അതു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു സാക്ഷിയായിരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

27. And Ioshua saide vnto all the people, Beholde, this stone shall be a witnesse vnto vs: for it hath heard all the wordes of the Lord which he spake with vs: it shall be therefore a witnesse against you, lest yee denie your God.

28. ഇങ്ങനെ യോശുവ ജനത്തെ താന്താങ്ങളുടെ അവകാശത്തിലേക്കു പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു.

28. Then Ioshua let the people depart, euery man vnto his inheritance.

29. അതിന്റെ ശേഷം യഹോവയുടെ ദാസനായി നൂന്റെ മകനായ യോശുവ നൂറ്റിപ്പത്തു വയസ്സുള്ളവനായി മരിച്ചു.

29. And after these things Ioshua the sonne of Nun, the seruaunt of the Lord died, being an hundreth and ten yeeres olde.

30. അവനെ എഫ്രയീംപര്വ്വതത്തിലുള്ള തിമ്നാത്ത്-സേരഹില് ഗായശ് മലയുടെ വടക്കുവശത്തു അവന്റെ അവകാശഭൂമിയില് അടക്കംചെയ്തു.

30. And they buried him in ye border of his inheritance in Timnath-serah, which is in mount Ephraim, on the Northside of mount Gaash.

31. യോശുവയുടെ കാലത്തൊക്കെയും യോശുവ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നവരായി യഹോവ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു വേണ്ടി ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ള സകലപ്രവൃത്തികളും അറിഞ്ഞവരായ മൂപ്പന്മാരുടെ കാലത്തൊക്കെയും യിസ്രായേല് യഹോവയെ സേവിച്ചു.

31. And Israel serued the Lord all the daies of Ioshua, and all the daies of the Elders that ouerliued Ioshua, and which had knowen all the workes of the Lord that he had done for Israel.

32. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് മിസ്രയീമില് നിന്നു കൊണ്ടുപോന്ന യോസേഫിന്റെ അസ്ഥികളെ അവര് ശെഖേമില്, യാക്കോബ് ശെഖേമിന്റെ അപ്പനായ ഹാമോരിന്റെ മക്കളോടു നൂറു വെള്ളിക്കാശിന്നു വാങ്ങിയിരുന്ന നിലത്തു, അടക്കംചെയ്തു; അതു യോസേഫിന്റെ മക്കള്ക്കു അവകാശമായിത്തീര്ന്നു.

32. And the bones of Ioseph, which the children of Israel brought out of Egypt, buried they in Shechem in a parcell of ground which Iaakob bought of the sonnes of Hamor the father of Shechem, for an hundreth pieces of siluer, and the children of Ioseph had them in their inheritance.

33. അഹരോന്റെ മകന് എലെയാസാരും മരിച്ചു; അവനെ അവന്റെ മകനായ ഫീനെഹാസിന്നു എഫ്രയീംപര്വ്വതത്തില് കൊടുത്തിരുന്ന കുന്നില് അടക്കം ചെയ്തു.

33. Also Eleazar the sonne of Aaron died, whome they buried in the hill of Phinehas his sonne, which was giuen him in mount Ephraim.
