1. നിങ്ങളിലുള്ള മൂപ്പന്മാരെ ഒരു കൂട്ടുമൂപ്പനും ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ കഷ്ടാനുഭവത്തിന്നു സാക്ഷിയും വെളിപ്പെടുവാനുള്ള തേജസ്സിന്നു കൂട്ടാളിയുമായ ഞാന് പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു

1. I, a fellow elder, exhort the elders among you, I being also witness of the sufferings of Christ, and being sharer of the glory about to be revealed:

2. നിങ്ങളുടെ വിചാരണയിലുള്ള ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടത്തെ മേയിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് . നിര്ബ്ബന്ധത്താലല്ല, ദൈവത്തിന്നു ഹിതമാംവണ്ണം മന:പൂര്വ്വമായും ദുരാഗ്രഹത്തോടെയല്ല,

2. Shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight, not by compulsion, but willingly; nor eagerly for base gain, but readily;

3. ഉന്മേഷത്തോടെയും ഇടവകകളുടെമേല് കര്ത്തൃത്വം നടത്തുന്നവരായിട്ടല്ല. ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടത്തിന്നു മാതൃകകളായിത്തീര്ന്നുകൊണ്ടും അദ്ധ്യക്ഷത ചെയ്വിന് .

3. nor as exercising lordship over the ones allotted to you, but becoming examples of the flock.

4. എന്നാല് ഇടയശ്രേഷ്ഠന് പ്രത്യക്ഷനാകുമ്പോള് നിങ്ങള് തേജസ്സിന്റെ വാടാത്ത കിരീടം പ്രാപിക്കും.

4. And at the appearing of the Chief Shepherd, you will receive the never fading crown of glory.

5. അവ്വണ്ണം ഇളയവരേ, മൂപ്പന്മാര്ക്കും കീഴടങ്ങുവിന് . എല്ലാവരും തമ്മില് തമ്മില് കീഴടങ്ങി താഴ്മ ധരിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് ദൈവം നിഗളികളോടു എതിര്ത്തുനിലക്കുന്നു; താഴ്മയുള്ളവര്ക്കോ കൃപ നലകുന്നു;

5. Likewise, younger ones be subject to older ones; and all being subject to one another. Put on humility, because God sets Himself 'against proud ones, but He gives grace to humble ones.' Prov. 3:34

6. Then be humbled under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in time;

9. ലോകത്തില് നിങ്ങള്ക്കുള്ള സഹോദരവര്ഗ്ഗത്തിന്നു ആവക കഷ്ടപ്പാടുകള് തന്നേ പൂര്ത്തിയായി വരുന്നു എന്നറിഞ്ഞു വിശ്വാസത്തില് സ്ഥിരമുള്ളവരായി അവനോടു എതിര്ത്തു നില്പിന് .

9. whom firmly resist in the faith, knowing the same sufferings are being completed in your brotherhood in the world.

10. എന്നാല് അല്പകാലത്തേക്കു കഷ്ടം സഹിക്കുന്ന നിങ്ങളെ ക്രിസ്തുവില് തന്റെ നിത്യതേജസ്സിന്നായി വിളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന സര്വ്വകൃപാലുവായ ദൈവം തന്നേ യഥാസ്ഥാനപ്പെടുത്തി ഉറപ്പിച്ചു ശക്തീകരിക്കും.

10. Now the God of all grace, the One calling you to His eternal glory in Christ Jesus, you having suffered a little, Himself will perfect, confirm, strengthen, establish you.

11. ബലം എന്നെന്നേക്കും അവന്നുള്ളതു. ആമേന് .

11. To Him be the glory and the might forever and ever. Amen.

12. നിങ്ങളെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചും നിങ്ങള് ഈ നിലക്കുന്നതു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സത്യകൃപയില് ആകുന്നു എന്നു സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വിശ്വസ്തസഹോദരന് എന്നു നിരൂപിക്കുന്ന സില്വാനൊസ് മുഖാന്തരം ചുരുക്കത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

12. I wrote to you by a few words by way of Silvanus the faithful brother, as I reckon, exhorting and witnessing this to be the true grace of God, in which you stand.

13. നിങ്ങളുടെ സഹവൃതയായ ബാബിലോനിലെ സഭയും എനിക്കു മകനായ മര്ക്കൊസും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വന്ദനം ചൊല്ലുന്നു.

13. The fellow-elected in Babylon greet you; also Mark my son.

14. സ്നേഹചുബനത്താല് തമ്മില് വന്ദനം ചെയ്വിന് . ക്രിസ്തുവിലുള്ള നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എല്ലാവര്ക്കും സമാധാനം ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ.
