1. അങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് പട്ടണങ്ങളില് പാര്ത്തിരിക്കുമ്പോള് ഏഴാം മാസത്തില് ജനം ഒരുമനപ്പെട്ടു യെരൂശലേമില് വന്നു കൂടി.

1. And when the seuenth moneth was come, and the children of Israel were in their cities, the people assembled themselues as one man vnto Ierusalem.

2. യോസാദാക്കിന്റെ മകനായ യേശുവയും അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരായ പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ശെയല്തീയേലിന്റെ മകനായ സെരുബ്ബാബേലും അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരും എഴുന്നേറ്റു ദൈവപുരുഷനായ മോശെയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഹോമയാഗങ്ങള് അര്പ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ യാഗപീഠം പണിതു.

2. Then stoode vp Ieshua rhe sonne of Iozadak, and his brethren the Priests, and Zerubbabel the sonne of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and builded the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings thereon, as it is written in ye Lawe of Moses the man of God,

3. അവര് ദേശത്തെ നിവാസികളെ പേടിച്ചിട്ടു യാഗപീഠത്തെ അതിന്റെ പണ്ടത്തെ നിലയില് പണിതു; അതിന്മേല് യഹോവേക്കു ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളെ, കാലത്തും വൈകുന്നേരത്തുമുള്ള ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ അര്പ്പിച്ചു.

3. And they set the altar vpon his bases (for feare was among them, because of the people of those countreis) therefore they offered burnt offrings thereon vnto the Lord, euen burnt offrings in the morning, and at euen.

4. എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ അവര് കൂടാരപ്പെരുനാള് ആചരിച്ചു; ഔരോ ദിവസത്തേക്കുള്ള നിയമപ്രകാരം അതതു ദിവസത്തിന്റെ ആവശ്യംപോലെ അവര് ഹോമയാഗം കഴിച്ചു.

4. They kept also the feast of the Tabernacles, as it is written, and the burnt offring dayly, by nomber according to the custome day by day,

5. അതിന്റെശേഷം അവര് നിരന്തരഹോമയാഗങ്ങളും അമാവാസ്യകള്ക്കും യഹോവേക്കു വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചിരുന്ന ഉത്സവങ്ങള്ക്കു ഒക്കെയും യഹോവേക്കു ഔദാര്യദാനങ്ങള് കൊടുക്കുന്ന ഏവര്ക്കും ഉള്ള യാഗങ്ങളും അര്പ്പിച്ചു.

5. And afterwarde the continuall bnrnt offring, both in the newe moneths and in all the feast dayes that were consecrate vnto the Lord, and in all the oblations willingly offered vnto the Lord.

6. ഏഴാം മാസം ഒന്നാം തിയ്യതിമുതല് അവര് യഹോവേക്കു ഹോമയാഗം കഴിപ്പാന് തുടങ്ങി; എന്നാല് യഹോവയുടെ മന്ദിരത്തിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനം അതുവരെ ഇട്ടിരുന്നില്ല.

6. From the first day of the seuenth moneth began they to offer burnt offrings vnto the Lord: but the foundation of the Temple of the Lord was not layed.

7. അവര് കല്പണിക്കാര്ക്കും ആശാരികള്ക്കും ദ്രവ്യമായിട്ടും പാര്സിരാജാവായ കോരെശിന്റെ കല്പനപ്രകാരം ലെബാനോനില്നിന്നു ദേവദാരു കടല്വഴി യാഫോവിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവരേണ്ടതിന്നു സീദോന്യര്ക്കും സോര്യ്യര്ക്കും ഭക്ഷണവും പാനീയവും എണ്ണയും ആയിട്ടും കൂലി കൊടുത്തു.

7. They gaue money also vnto the masons, and to the workemen, and meat and drinke, and oyle vnto them of Zidon and of Tyrus, to bring them cedar wood from Lebanon to the sea vnto Iapho, according to the graunt that they had of Cyrus King of Persia.

8. അവര് യെരൂശലേമിലെ ദൈവാലയത്തിങ്കല് എത്തിയതിന്റെ രണ്ടാമാണ്ടു രണ്ടാം മാസം ശെയല്തീയേലിന്റെ മകനായ സെരുബ്ബാബേലും യോസാദാക്കിന്റെ മകനായ യേശുവയും അവരുടെ ശേഷം സഹോദരന്മാരും പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ലേവ്യരും പ്രവാസത്തില്നിന്നു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു വന്നവര് എല്ലാവരും കൂടി പണിതുടങ്ങി; ഇരുപതു വയസ്സുമുതല് മേലോട്ടു പ്രായമുള്ള ലേവ്യരെ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ പണിനടത്തുവാന് നിയമിച്ചു.

8. And in the seconde yeere of their comming vnto the house of God in Ierusalem in the second moneth began Zerubbabel the sonne of Shealtiel, and Ieshua the sonne of Iozadak, and the remnant of their brethren the Priests and the Leuites, and all they that were come out of the captiuitie vnto Ierusalem, and appointed the Leuites from twentie yeere olde and aboue, to set forwarde the worke of the house of the Lord.

9. അങ്ങനെ യേശുവയും അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരും സഹോദരന്മാരും കദ്മീയേലും അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരും ഹോദവ്യാവിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരും ഹെനാദാദിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരും അവരുടെ പുത്രന്മാരും സഹോദരന്മാരുമായ ലേവ്യരും യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് വേലചെയ്യുന്നവരെ മേല്വിചാരണ ചെയ്വാന് ഒരുമനപ്പെട്ടുനിന്നു.

9. And Ieshua stood with his sonnes, and his brethren, and Kadmiel with his sonnes, and the sonnes of Iudah together to set forward ye workemen in the house of God, and the sonnes of Henadad with their sonnes, and their brethren the Leuites.

10. പണിയുന്നവര് യഹോവയുടെ മന്ദിരത്തിന്നു അടിസ്ഥാനം ഇട്ടപ്പോള് യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ ചട്ടപ്രകാരം യഹോവേക്കു സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു വിശുദ്ധവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ച പുരോഹിതന്മാരെ കാഹളങ്ങളോടും ആസാഫ്യരായ ലേവ്യരെ കൈത്താളങ്ങളോടുംകൂടെ നിര്ത്തി.

10. And when the builders layed the foundation of the Temple of the Lord, they appoynted the Priestes in their apparel with trumpets, and the Leuites the sonnes of Asaph with cymbales, to prayse the Lord, after the ordinance of Dauid King of Israel.

11. അവര് യഹോവയെഅവന് നല്ലവന് ; യിസ്രായേലിനോടു അവന്റെ ദയ എന്നേക്കും ഉള്ളതു എന്നിങ്ങനെ വാഴ്ത്തി സ്തുതിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു ഗാനപ്രതിഗാനം ചെയ്തു. അവര് യഹോവയെ സ്തുതിക്കുമ്പോള് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനം ഇട്ടതുകൊണ്ടു ജനമെല്ലാം അത്യുച്ചത്തില് ആര്ത്തുഘോഷിച്ചു.

11. Thus they sang when they gaue prayse, and when they gaue thankes vnto the Lord, For he is good, for his mercie endureth for euer toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shoute, when they praysed the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was layed.

12. എന്നാല് പുരോഹിതന്മാരിലും ലേവ്യരിലും പിതൃഭവനത്തലവന്മാരിലും മുമ്പിലത്തെ ആലയം കണ്ടിട്ടുള്ള വയോധികന്മാരായ അനേകര് ഈ ആലയത്തിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനം ഇട്ടു കണ്ടപ്പോള് ഉറക്കെ കരഞ്ഞുപോയി; മറ്റു പലരും സന്തോഷത്തോടെ ഉച്ചത്തില് ആര്ത്തു.

12. Many also of the Priests and the Leuites and the chiefe of the fathers, ancient men which had seene the first house, (when the foundation of this house was layed before their eyes) wept with a loud voyce, and many shouted aloud for ioy,

13. അങ്ങനെ ജനത്തില് സന്തോഷഘോഷത്തിന്റെ ശബ്ദവും കരച്ചലിന്റെ ശബ്ദവും തമ്മില് തിരിച്ചറിവാന് കഴിയാതെയിരുന്നു; ജനം അത്യുച്ചത്തില് ഘോഷിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു ഘോഷം ബഹുദൂരം കേട്ടു.

13. So that the people coulde not discerne the sound of the shoute for ioy, from the noyse of the weeping of the people: for the people shouted with a loude crie, and the noyse was heard farre off.
