1. അങ്ങനെ ഇയ്യോബ് തനിക്കുതന്നേ നീതിമാനായ്തോന്നിയതുകൊണ്ടു ഈ മൂന്നു പുരുഷന്മാര് അവനോടു വാദിക്കുന്നതു മതിയാക്കി.

1. So these three men quit answering Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.

2. അപ്പോള് രാംവംശത്തില് ബൂസ്യനായ ബറഖേലിന്റെ മകന് എലീഹൂവിന്റെ കോപം ജ്വലിച്ചു; ദൈവത്തെക്കാള് തന്നെത്താന് നീതീകരിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു ഇയ്യോബിന്റെ നേരെ അവന്റെ കോപം ജ്വലിച്ചു.

2. Then Elihu son of Barachel the Buzite from the family of Ram became angry. He was angry at Job because he had justified himself rather than God.

3. അവന്റെ മൂന്നു സ്നേഹിതന്മാര് ഇയ്യോബിന്റെ കുറ്റം തെളിയിപ്പാന് തക്ക ഉത്തരം കാണായ്കകൊണ്ടു അവരുടെ നേരെയും അവന്റെ കോപം ജ്വലിച്ചു.

3. He was also angry at Job's three friends because they had failed to refute [him], and yet had condemned him.

4. എന്നാല് അവര് തന്നെക്കാള് പ്രായമുള്ളവരാകകൊണ്ടു എലീഹൂ ഇയ്യോബിനോടു സംസാരിപ്പാന് താമസിച്ചു.

4. Now Elihu had waited to speak to Job because they were [all] older than he.

5. ആ മൂന്നു പുരുഷന്മാര്ക്കും ഉത്തരം മുട്ടിപ്പോയി എന്നു കണ്ടിട്ടു എലീഹൂവിന്റെ കോപം ജ്വലിച്ചു.

5. But when he saw that the three men could not answer Job, he became angry.

6. അങ്ങനെ ബൂസ്യനായ ബറഖേലിന്റെ മകന് എലീഹൂ പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്ഞാന് പ്രായം കുറഞ്ഞവനും നിങ്ങള് വൃദ്ധന്മാരും ആകുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് ശങ്കിച്ചു, അഭിപ്രായം പറവാന് തുനിഞ്ഞില്ല.

6. So Elihu son of Barachel the Buzite replied: I am young in years, while you are old; therefore I was timid and afraid to tell you what I know.

7. പ്രായം സംസാരിക്കയും വയോധിക്യം ജ്ഞാനം ഉപദേശിക്കയും ചെയ്യട്ടെ എന്നിങ്ങനെ ഞാന് വിചാരിച്ചു.

7. I thought that age should speak and maturity should teach wisdom.

8. എന്നാല് മനുഷ്യരില് ആത്മാവുണ്ടല്ലോ; സര്വ്വശക്തന്റെ ശ്വാസം അവര്ക്കും വിവേകം നലകുന്നു.

8. But it is a spirit in man and the breath of the Almighty that give him understanding.

9. പ്രായം ചെന്നവരത്രേ ജ്ഞാനികള് എന്നില്ല; വൃദ്ധന്മാരത്രേ ന്യായബോധമുള്ളവര് എന്നുമില്ല.

9. It is not [only] the old who are wise or the elderly who understand how to judge.

10. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് പറയുന്നതുഎന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടുകൊള്വിന് ; ഞാനും എന്റെ അഭിപ്രായം പ്രസ്താവിക്കാം.

10. Therefore I say, 'Listen to me. I too will declare what I know.'

11. ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ വാക്കു ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; നിങ്ങള് തക്ക മൊഴികള് ആരാഞ്ഞു കണ്ടെത്തുമോ എന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉപദേശങ്ങള്ക്കു ഞാന് ചെവികൊടുത്തു.

11. Look, I waited for your conclusions; I listened to your insights as you sought for words.

12. നിങ്ങള് പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു ഞാന് ശ്രദ്ധകൊടുത്തു; ഇയ്യോബിന്നു ബോധം വരുത്തുവാനോ അവന്റെ മൊഴികള്ക്കുത്തരം പറവാനോ നിങ്ങളില് ആരുമില്ല.

12. I paid close attention to you. Yet no one proved Job wrong; not one of you refuted his arguments.

13. ഞങ്ങള് ജ്ഞാനം കണ്ടുപിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നുമനുഷ്യനല്ല, ദൈവമത്രേ അവനെ ജയിക്കും എന്നു നിങ്ങള് പറയരുതു.

13. So do not claim, 'We have found wisdom; let God deal with him, not man.'

14. എന്റെ നേരെയല്ലല്ലോ അവന് തന്റെ മൊഴികളെ പ്രയോഗിച്ചതു; നിങ്ങളുടെ വചനങ്ങള്കൊണ്ടു ഞാന് അവനോടു ഉത്തരം പറകയുമില്ല.

14. But Job has not directed his argument to me, and I will not respond to him with your arguments.

15. അവര് പരിഭ്രമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ഉത്തരം പറയുന്നില്ല; അവര്ക്കും വാക്കു മുട്ടിപ്പോയി.

15. Job's friends are dismayed and can no longer answer; words have left them.

16. അവര് ഉത്തരം പറയാതെ വെറുതെ നിലക്കുന്നു; അവര് സംസാരിക്കായ്കയാല് ഞാന് കാത്തിരിക്കേണമോ?

16. Should I continue to wait now that they are silent, now that they stand [there] and no longer answer?

17. എനിക്കു പറവാനുള്ളതു ഞാനും പറയും; എന്റെ അഭിപ്രായം ഞാന് പ്രസ്താവിക്കും.

17. I too will answer; yes, I will tell what I know.

18. ഞാന് മൊഴികള്കൊണ്ടു തിങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ഉള്ളിലെ ആത്മാവു എന്നെ നിര്ബ്ബന്ധിക്കുന്നു.

18. For I am full of words, and my spirit compels me [to speak].

19. എന്റെ ഉള്ളം അടെച്ചുവെച്ച വീഞ്ഞുപോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അതു പുതിയ തുരുത്തികള്പോലെ പൊട്ടു മാറായിരിക്കുന്നു.

19. My heart is like unvented wine; it is about to burst like new wineskins.

20. എന്റെ വിമ്മിഷ്ടം തീരേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് സംസാരിക്കും; എന്റെ അധരം തുറന്നു ഉത്തരം പറയും.

20. I must speak so that I can find relief; I must open my lips and respond.

21. ഞാന് ഒരുത്തന്റെയും പക്ഷം പിടിക്കയില്ല; ആരോടും മുഖസ്തുതി പറകയുമില്ല.

21. I will be partial to no one, and I will not give anyone an [undeserved] title.

22. മുഖസ്തുതി പറവാന് എനിക്കു അറിഞ്ഞുകൂടാ; അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്താല് എന്റെ സ്രഷ്ടാവു ക്ഷണത്തില് എന്നെ നീക്കിക്കളയും.

22. For I do not know how to give [such] titles; otherwise, my Maker would remove me in an instant.
