1. അതിന്നു ഇയ്യോബ് യഹോവയോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു

1. Then Job answered the LORD, and said:

2. നിനക്കു സകലവും കഴിയുമെന്നും നിന്റെ ഉദ്ദേശമൊന്നും അസാദ്ധ്യമല്ലെന്നും ഞാന് അറിയുന്നു.
മത്തായി 19:26, മർക്കൊസ് 10:27

2. I know that thou hast power over(of) all things, and that there is no thought hid unto thee.

3. അറിവുകൂടാതെ ആലോചനയെ മറിച്ചുകളയുന്നോരിവനാര്? അങ്ങനെ എനിക്കറിഞ്ഞുകൂടാതവണ്ണം അത്ഭുതമേറിയതു ഞാന് തിരിച്ചറിയാതെ പറഞ്ഞുപോയി.

3. For who can keep his own counsel(councell) so secret, but it shall be known? Therefore have I spoken unwisely, seeing these things are so high, and pass mine understanding.

4. കേള്ക്കേണമേ; ഞാന് സംസാരിക്കും; ഞാന് നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കും; എന്നെ ഗ്രഹിപ്പിക്കേണമേ.

4. O hearken thou unto me also, and let me speak: answer me unto the thing that I will ask thee.

5. ഞാന് നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു ഒരു കേള്വി മാത്രമേ കേട്ടിരുന്നുള്ളു; ഇപ്പോഴോ, എന്റെ കണ്ണാല് നിന്നെ കാണുന്നു.

5. I have given diligent ear unto thee, and now I see thee with mine eyes.

6. ആകയാല് ഞാന് എന്നെത്തന്നേ വെറുത്തു പൊടിയിലും ചാരത്തിലും കിടന്നു അനുതപിക്കുന്നു.

6. Wherefore I give mine own self the blame, and take repentance in the dust and ashes.

7. യഹോവ ഈ വചനങ്ങളെ ഇയ്യോബിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തശേഷം യഹോവ തേമാന്യനായ എലീഫസിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുനിന്നോടും നിന്റെ രണ്ടു സ്നേഹിതന്മാരോടും എനിക്കു കോപം ജ്വലിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ദാസനായ ഇയ്യോബിനെപ്പോലെ നിങ്ങള് എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു വിഹിതമായതു സംസാരിച്ചിട്ടില്ല.

7. Now when the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, he said unto Eliphas the Themanite: I am displeased with thee and thy two friends, for ye have not spoken the thing that is right before me, like as my servant Job hath done.

8. ആകയാല് നിങ്ങള് ഏഴു കാളയെയും ഏഴു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും എന്റെ ദാസനായ ഇയ്യോബിന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വേണ്ടി ഹോമയാഗം കഴിപ്പിന് ; എന്റെ ദാസനായ ഇയ്യോബ് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വേണ്ടി പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കും; ഞാന് അവന്റെ മുഖം ആദരിച്ചു നിങ്ങളുടെ മൂഢതെക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം നിങ്ങളോടു ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കും; എന്റെ ദാസനായ ഇയ്യോബിനെപ്പോലെ നിങ്ങള് എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു വിഹിതമായതു സംസാരിച്ചിട്ടില്ലല്ലോ.

8. Therefore take seven oxen and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, offer up also for yourselves a brentoffering: and let my servant Job pray for you. Him will I accept, and not deal with you after your foolishness: in that ye have not spoken the thing which is right, like as my servant Job hath done.

9. അങ്ങനെ തേമാന്യനായ എലീഫസും ശൂഹ്യനായ ബില്ദാദും നയമാത്യനായ സോഫരും ചെന്നു യഹോവ തങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ചെയ്തു; യഹോവ ഇയ്യോബിന്റെ മുഖത്തെ ആദരിച്ചു.

9. So Eliphas the Themanite, Baldad the Suhite and Sophar the Naamathite went their way, and did according as the LORD commanded them. The LORD also accepted the person of Job,

10. ഇയ്യോബ് തന്റെ സ്നേഹിതന്മാര്ക്കും വേണ്ടി പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചപ്പോള് യഹോവ അവന്റെ സ്ഥിതിക്കു ഭേദം വരുത്തി മുമ്പെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതൊക്കെയും യഹോവ ഇയ്യോബിന്നു ഇരട്ടിയായി കൊടുത്തു.

10. and the LORD turned him unto Job, when he prayed for his friends: Yea the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had afore.

11. അവന്റെ സകലസഹോദരന്മാരും സഹോദരിമാരും മുമ്പെ അവന്നു പരിചയമുള്ളവരൊക്കെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു അവന്റെ വീട്ടില് അവനോടുകൂടെ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിച്ചു; യഹോവ അവന്റെമേല് വരുത്തിയിരുന്ന സകലഅനര്ത്ഥത്തെയും കുറിച്ചു അവര് അവനോടു സഹതാപം കാണിച്ചു അവനെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിച്ചു; ഔരോരുത്തനും അവന്നു ഔരോ പൊന് നാണ്യവും ഔരോ പൊന് മോതിരവും കൊടുത്തു.

11. And then came there unto him all his brethren, all his sisters, with all them that had been of his acquaintance afore, and ate bread with him in his house, wondering at him, and comforting him over all the trouble, that the LORD had brought upon him. Every man gave him a sheep and a Jewel of gold.

12. ഇങ്ങനെ യഹോവ ഇയ്യോബിന്റെ പിന് കാലത്തെ അവന്റെ മുന് കാലത്തെക്കാള് അധികം അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു; അവന്നു പതിന്നാലായിരം ആടും ആറായിരം ഒട്ടകവും ആയിരം ഏര് കാളയും ആയിരം പെണ്കഴുതയും ഉണ്ടായി.

12. And the LORD made Job richer than he was before: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand asses.

13. അവന്നു ഏഴു പുത്രന്മാരും മൂന്നു പുത്രിമാരും ഉണ്ടായി.

13. He had children also, seven sons and three daughters.

14. മൂത്തവള്ക്കു അവന് യെമീമാ എന്നും രണ്ടാമത്തെവള്ക്കു കെസീയാ എന്നും മൂന്നാമത്തവള്ക്കു കേരെന് -ഹപ്പൂക് എന്നും പേര് വിളിച്ചു.

14. The first (he) called Day: the second Poverty: the third All plenteousness.

15. ഇയ്യോബിന്റെ പുത്രിമാരെപ്പോലെ സൌന്ദര്യമുള്ള സ്ത്രീകള് ദേശത്തെങ്ങും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല; അവരുടെ അപ്പന് അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരോടുകൂടെ അവര്ക്കും അവകാശം കൊടുത്തു.

15. In all the land were none found so fair, as the daughters of Job, and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren.

16. അതിന്റെശേഷം ഇയ്യോബ് നൂറ്റിനാല്പതു സംവത്സരം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു; അവന് മക്കളെയും മക്കളുടെ മക്കളെയും നാലു തലമുറയോളം കണ്ടു.

16. After this lived Job forty years, so that he saw his children, his childrens' children to the fourth generation;

17. അങ്ങനെ ഇയ്യോബ് വൃദ്ധനും കാലസമ്പൂര്ണ്ണനുമായി മരിച്ചു.

17. And so he died, being old and of a perfect age.
