1. ആകാശം ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മഹത്വത്തെ വര്ണ്ണിക്കുന്നു; ആകാശവിതാനം അവന്റെ കൈവേലയെ പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കുന്നു.

1. To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. THE HEAVENS declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows and proclaims His handiwork. [Rom. 1:20, 21.]

2. പകല് പകലിന്നു വാക്കു പൊഴിക്കുന്നു; രാത്രി രാത്രിക്കു അറിവു കൊടുക്കുന്നു.

2. Day after day pours forth speech, and night after night shows forth knowledge.

3. ഭാഷണമില്ല, വാക്കുകളില്ല, ശബ്ദം കേള്പ്പാനുമില്ല.

3. There is no speech nor spoken word [from the stars]; their voice is not heard.

4. ഭൂമിയില് എല്ലാടവും അതിന്റെ അളവുനൂലും ഭൂതലത്തിന്റെ അറ്റത്തോളം അതിന്റെ വചനങ്ങളും ചെല്ലുന്നു; അവിടെ അവന് സൂര്യന്നു ഒരു കൂടാരം അടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

4. Yet their voice [in evidence] goes out through all the earth, their sayings to the end of the world. Of the heavens has God made a tent for the sun, [Rom. 10:18.]

5. അതു മണവറയില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുന്ന മണവാളന്നു തുല്യം; വീരനെപ്പോലെ തന്റെ ഔട്ടം ഔടുവാന് സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു.

5. Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber; and it rejoices as a strong man to run his course.

6. ആകാശത്തിന്റെ അറ്റത്തുനിന്നു അതിന്റെ ഉദയവും അറുതിവരെ അതിന്റെ അയനവും ആകുന്നു; അതിന്റെ ഉഷ്ണം ഏല്ക്കാതെ മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതു ഒന്നുമില്ല.

6. Its going forth is from the end of the heavens, and its circuit to the ends of it; and nothing [yes, no one] is hidden from the heat of it.

7. യഹോവയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം തികവുള്ളതു; അതു പ്രാണനെ തണുപ്പിക്കുന്നു. യഹോവയുടെ സാക്ഷ്യം വിശ്വാസ്യമാകുന്നു; അതു അല്പബുദ്ധിയെ ജ്ഞാനിയാക്കുന്നു.

7. The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the [whole] person; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.

8. യഹോവയുടെ ആജ്ഞകള് നേരുള്ളവ; അവ ഹൃദയത്തെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവയുടെ കല്പന നിര്മ്മലമായതു; അതു കണ്ണുകളെ പ്രകാശിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

8. The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure and bright, enlightening the eyes.

9. യഹോവാഭക്തി നിര്മ്മലമായതു; അതു എന്നേക്കും നിലനിലക്കുന്നു; യഹോവയുടെ വിധികള് സത്യമായവ; അവ ഒട്ടൊഴിയാതെ നീതിയുള്ളവയാകുന്നു.

9. The [reverent] fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the ordinances of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.

10. അവ പൊന്നിലും വളരെ തങ്കത്തിലും ആഗ്രഹിക്കത്തക്കവ; തേനിലും തേങ്കട്ടയിലും മധുരമുള്ളവ.

10. More to be desired are they than gold, even than much fine gold; they are sweeter also than honey and drippings from the honeycomb.

11. അടിയനും അവയാല് പ്രബോധനം ലഭിക്കുന്നു; അവയെ പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നതിനാല് വളരെ പ്രതിഫലം ഉണ്ടു.

11. Moreover, by them is Your servant warned (reminded, illuminated, and instructed); and in keeping them there is great reward.

12. തന്റെ തെറ്റുകളെ ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവന് ആര്? മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന തെറ്റുകളെ പോക്കി എന്നെ മോചിക്കേണമേ.

12. Who can discern his lapses and errors? Clear me from hidden [and unconscious] faults.

13. സ്വമേധാപാപങ്ങളെ അകറ്റി അടിയനെ കാക്കേണമേ; അവ എന്റെമേല് വാഴരുതേ; എന്നാല് ഞാന് നിഷ്കളങ്കനും മഹാപാതകരഹിതനും ആയിരിക്കും.

13. Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me! Then shall I be blameless, and I shall be innocent and clear of great transgression.

14. എന്റെ പാറയും എന്റെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുകാരനുമായ യഹോവേ, എന്റെ വായിലെ വാക്കുകളും എന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിലെ ധ്യാനവും നിനക്കു പ്രസാദമായിരിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ.

14. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my [firm, impenetrable] Rock and my Redeemer.
