1. എളിയവനെ ആദരിക്കുന്നവന് ഭാഗ്യവാന് ; അനര്ത്ഥദിവസത്തില് യഹോവ അവനെ വിടുവിക്കും.

1. For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in the day of evil.

2. യഹോവ അവനെ കാത്തു ജീവനോടെ പാലിക്കും; അവന് ഭൂമിയില് ഭാഗ്യവാനായിരിക്കും; അവന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ ഇഷ്ടത്തിന്നു നീ അവനെ ഏല്പിക്കയില്ല;

2. The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive, and he shall be blessed upon the earth; and deliver not thou him unto the will of his enemies.

3. യഹോവ അവനെ രോഗശയ്യയില് താങ്ങും. ദീനത്തില് നീ അവന്റെ കിടക്ക എല്ലാം മാറ്റിവിരിക്കുന്നു.

3. The LORD will support him upon the couch of languishing: thou makest all his bed in his sickness.

4. യഹോവേ, എന്നോടു കൃപ തോന്നി എന്നെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കേണമേ; നിന്നോടല്ലോ ഞാന് പാപം ചെയ്തതു എന്നു ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞു.

4. I said, O LORD, have mercy upon me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.

5. അവന് എപ്പോള് മരിച്ചു അവന്റെ പേര് നശിക്കും എന്നു എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കള് എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു ദോഷം പറയുന്നു.

5. Mine enemies speak evil against me, saying, When shall he die, and his name perish?

6. ഒരുത്തന് എന്നെ കാണ്മാന് വന്നാല് അവന് കപടവാക്കു പറയുന്നു; അവന്റെ ഹൃദയം നീതികേടു സംഗ്രഹിക്കന്നു; അവന് പുറത്തുപോയി അതു പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നു.

6. And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity; his heart gathereth iniquity to itself: when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.

7. എന്നെ പകെക്കുന്നവരൊക്കെയും എനിക്കു വിരോധമായി തമ്മില് മന്ത്രിക്കുന്നു; അവര് എനിക്കു ദോഷം ചിന്തിക്കുന്നു.

7. All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt.

8. ഒരു ദുര്വ്യാധി അവന്നു പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന് കിടപ്പിലായി; ഇനി അവന് എഴുന്നേല്ക്കയില്ല എന്നു അവര് പറയുന്നു.

8. An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.

9. ഞാന് വിശ്വസിച്ചവനും എന്റെ അപ്പം തിന്നവനുമായ എന്റെ പ്രാണസ്നേഹിതന് പോലും എന്റെ നേരെ കുതികാല് ഉയര്ത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

9. Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.

10. ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും പകരം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു യഹോവേ, കൃപ തോന്നി എന്നെ എഴുന്നേല്പിക്കേണമേ.

10. But thou, O LORD, have mercy upon me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.

11. എന്റെ ശത്രു എന്നെച്ചൊല്ലി ജയഘോഷം കൊള്ളാതിരിക്കുന്നതിനാല് നിനക്കു എന്നില് പ്രസാദമായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞാന് അറിയുന്നു.

11. By this I know that thou delightest in me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.

12. നീ എന്റെ നഷ്കളങ്കത്വംനിമിത്തം എന്നെ താങ്ങുന്നു, നിന്റെ മുമ്പില് എന്നേക്കും എന്നെ നിര്ത്തിക്കൊള്ളുന്നു.

12. And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever.

13. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ എന്നും എന്നേക്കും വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെടുമാറാകട്ടെ. ആമേന് , ആമേന് .
