1. യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോടു

1. GOD spoke to Moses, saying,

2. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ ഇടയില് മനുഷ്യരിലും മൃഗങ്ങളിലും കടിഞ്ഞൂലായി പിറക്കുന്നതിന്നെ ഒക്കെയും എനിക്കായി ശുദ്ധീകരിക്ക; അതു എനിക്കുള്ളതാകുന്നു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു;

2. 'Consecrate every firstborn to me--the first one to come from the womb among the Israelites, whether person or animal, is mine.'

3. അപ്പോള് മോശെ ജനത്തോടു പറഞ്ഞതുനിങ്ങള് അടിമവീടായ മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോന്ന ഈ ദിവസത്തെ ഔര്ത്തു കൊള്വിന് ; യഹോവ ബലമുള്ള കൈകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളെ അവിടെനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു; അതുകൊണ്ടു പുളിപ്പുള്ള അപ്പം തിന്നരുതു.

3. Moses said to the people, 'Always remember this day. This is the day when you came out of Egypt from a house of slavery. GOD brought you out of here with a powerful hand. Don't eat any raised bread.

4. ആബീബ് മാസം ഈ തിയ്യതി നിങ്ങള് പുറപ്പെട്ടു പോന്നു.

4. 'You are leaving in the spring month of Abib.

5. എന്നാല് കനാന്യര്, ഹിത്യര്, അമോര്യ്യര്, ഹിവ്യര്, യെബൂസ്യര് എന്നിവരുടെ ദേശമായി യഹോവ നിനക്കു തരുമെന്നു നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു സത്യം ചെയ്തതും പാലും തേനും ഒഴുകുന്നതുമായ ദേശത്തേക്കു നിന്നെ കൊണ്ടുചെന്നശേഷം നീ ഈ മാസത്തില് ഈ കര്മ്മം ആചരിക്കേണം.

5. When GOD brings you into the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, which he promised to your fathers to give you, a land lavish with milk and honey, you are to observe this service during this month:

6. ഏഴു ദിവസം നീ പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പം തിന്നേണം; ഏഴാം ദിവസം യഹോവേക്കു ഒരു ഉത്സവം ആയിരിക്കേണം.

6. 'You are to eat unraised bread for seven days; on the seventh day there is a festival celebration to GOD.

7. ഏഴു ദിവസവും പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പം തിന്നേണം; നിന്റെ പക്കല് പുളിപ്പുള്ള അപ്പം കാണരുതു; നിന്റെ അരികത്തെങ്ങും പുളിച്ചമാവും കാണരുതു.

7. 'Only unraised bread is to be eaten for seven days. There is not to be a trace of anything fermented--no yeast anywhere.

8. ഞാന് മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുമ്പോള് യഹോവ എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി ചെയ്ത കാര്യം നിമിത്തം ആകുന്നു ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുന്നതു എന്നു നീ ആ ദിവസത്തില് നിന്റെ മകനോടു അറിയിക്കേണം.

8. 'Tell your child on that day: 'This is because of what GOD did for me when I came out of Egypt.'

9. യഹോവയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം നിന്റെ വായില് ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഇതു നിനക്കു നിന്റെ കയ്യിന്മേല് അടയാളമായും നിന്റെ കണ്ണുകളുടെ നടുവില് ജ്ഞാപകലക്ഷ്യമായും ഇരിക്കെണം. ബലമുള്ള കൈകൊണ്ടല്ലോ യഹോവ നിന്നെ മിസ്രയീമില് നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചതു.

9. 'The day of observance will be like a sign on your hand, a memorial between your eyes, and the teaching of GOD in your mouth. It was with a powerful hand that GOD brought you out of Egypt.

10. അതു കൊണ്ടു നീ ആണ്ടുതോറും നിശ്ചയിക്കപ്പെട്ട സമയത്തു ഈ ചട്ടം ആചരിക്കേണം.

10. Follow these instructions at the set time, year after year after year.

11. യഹോവ നിന്നോടും നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടും സത്യം ചെയ്തതുപോലെ നിന്നെ കനാന്യരുടെ ദേശത്തു കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു അതു നിനക്കു തരുമ്പോള്

11. 'When GOD brings you into the land of the Canaanites, as he promised you and your fathers, and turns it over to you,

12. കടിഞ്ഞൂലിനെ ഒക്കെയും, നിനക്കുള്ള മൃഗങ്ങളുടെ കടിഞ്ഞൂല്പിറവിയെ ഒക്കെയും നീ യഹോവെക്കായി വേര്തിരിക്കേണം; ആണൊക്കെയും യഹോവകൂള്ളതാകുന്നു.

12. you are to set aside the first birth out of every womb to GOD. Every first birth from your livestock belongs to GOD.

13. എന്നാല് കഴുതയുടെ കടിഞ്ഞൂലിനെ ഒക്കെയും ആട്ടിന് കുട്ടിയെക്കൊണ്ടു വീണ്ടുകൊള്ളേണം; അതിനെ വീണ്ടുകൊള്ളുന്നില്ലെങ്കില് അതിന്റെ കഴുത്തു ഒടിച്ചുകളയേണം. നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് ആദ്യജാതനെ ഒക്കെയും നീ വീണ്ടുകൊള്ളേണം.

13. You can redeem every first birth of a donkey if you want to by substituting a lamb; if you decide not to redeem it, you must break its neck. 'Redeem every firstborn child among your sons.

14. എന്നാല് ഇതു എന്തു എന്നു നാളെ നിന്റെ മകന് നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കുമ്പോള്യഹോവ ബലമുള്ള കൈകൊണ്ടു അടിമവീടായ മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു;

14. When the time comes and your son asks you, 'What does this mean?' you tell him, 'GOD brought us out of Egypt, out of a house of slavery, with a powerful hand.

15. ഫറവോന് കഠിനപ്പെട്ടു ഞങ്ങളെ വിട്ടയക്കാതിരുന്നപ്പോള് യഹോവ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു മനുഷ്യന്റെ കടിഞ്ഞൂല്മുതല് മൃഗത്തിന്റെ കടിഞ്ഞൂല്വരെയുള്ള കടിഞ്ഞൂല്പിറവിയെ ഒക്കെയും കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു. അതുകൊണ്ടു കടിഞ്ഞൂലായ ആണിനെ ഒക്കെയും ഞാന് യഹോവേക്കു യാഗം അര്പ്പിക്കുന്നു; എന്നാല് എന്റെ മക്കളില് കടിഞ്ഞൂലിനെ ഒക്കെയും ഞാന് വീണ്ടുകൊള്ളുന്നു.

15. When Pharaoh stubbornly refused to let us go, GOD killed every firstborn in Egypt, the firstborn of both humans and animals. That's why I make a sacrifice for every first male birth from the womb to GOD and redeem every firstborn son.'

16. അതു നിന്റെ കയ്യിന്മേല് അടയാളമായും നിന്റെ കണ്ണുകളുടെ നടുവില് നെറ്റിപ്പട്ടമായും ഇരിക്കേണം. യഹോവ ഞങ്ങളെ ബലമുള്ള കൈകൊണ്ടു മിസ്രയീമില് നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു എന്നു നീ അവനോടു പറയേണം.

16. The observance functions like a sign on your hands or a symbol on the middle of your forehead: GOD brought us out of Egypt with a powerful hand.'

17. ഫറവോന് ജനത്തെ വിട്ടയച്ച ശേഷം ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ ദേശത്തു കൂടിയുള്ള വഴി അടുത്തതു എന്നു വരികിലും ജനം യുദ്ധം കാണുമ്പോള് പക്ഷേ അനുതപിച്ചു മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകുമെന്നുവെച്ചു ദൈവം അവരെ അതിലെ കൊണ്ടുപോയില്ല;

17. It so happened that after Pharaoh released the people, God didn't lead them by the road through the land of the Philistines, which was the shortest route, for God thought, 'If the people encounter war, they'll change their minds and go back to Egypt.'

18. ചെങ്കടലരികെയുള്ള മരുഭൂമിയില്കൂടി ദൈവം ജനത്തെ ചുറ്റിനടത്തി. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധരായി പുറപ്പെട്ടു.

18. So God led the people on the wilderness road, looping around to the Red Sea. The Israelites left Egypt in military formation.

19. മോശെ യോസേഫിന്റെ അസ്ഥികളും എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു പോന്നു. ദൈവം നിങ്ങളെ സന്ദര്ശിക്കും നിശ്ചയം; അപ്പോള് എന്റെ അസ്ഥികളും നിങ്ങള് ഇവിടെനിന്നു എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടുപോകേണമെന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവന് യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളെക്കൊണ്ടു ഉറപ്പായി സത്യം ചെയ്യിച്ചിരുന്നു.

19. Moses took the bones of Joseph with him, for Joseph had made the Israelites solemnly swear to do it, saying, 'God will surely hold you accountable, so make sure you bring my bones from here with you.'

20. അവര് സുക്കോത്തില് നിന്നു യാത്രപുറപ്പെട്ടു മരുഭൂമിക്കരികെ ഏഥാമില് പാളയമിറങ്ങി.

20. They moved on from Succoth and then camped at Etham at the edge of the wilderness.

21. അവര് പകലും രാവും യാത്രചെയ്വാന് തക്കവണ്ണം അവര്ക്കും വഴികാണിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു പകല് മേഘസ്തംഭത്തിലും അവര്ക്കും വെളിച്ചം കൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു രാത്രി അഗ്നിസ്തംഭത്തിലും യഹോവ അവര്ക്കും മുമ്പായി പൊയ്ക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
1 കൊരിന്ത്യർ 10:1

21. GOD went ahead of them in a Pillar of Cloud during the day to guide them on the way, and at night in a Pillar of Fire to give them light; thus they could travel both day and night.

22. പകല് മേഘസ്തംഭവും രാത്രി അഗ്നിസ്തംഭവും ജനത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പില് നിന്നു മാറിയതുമില്ല.

22. The Pillar of Cloud by day and the Pillar of Fire by night never left the people.
