1. ഹൃദയത്തിലെ നിരൂപണങ്ങള് മനുഷ്യന്നുള്ളവ; നാവിന്റെ ഉത്തരമോ യഹോവയാല് വരുന്നു.

1. Man may make plans in his heart, but what the tongue utters is from the LORD.

2. മനുഷ്യന്നു തന്റെ വഴികളൊക്കെയും വെടിപ്പായി തോന്നുന്നു; യഹോവയോ ആത്മാക്കളെ തൂക്കിനോക്കുന്നു.

2. All the ways of a man may be pure in his own eyes, but it is the LORD who proves the spirit.

3. നിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികളെ യഹോവേക്കു സമര്പ്പിക്ക; എന്നാല് നിന്റെ ഉദ്ദേശങ്ങള് സാധിക്കും.

3. Entrust your works to the LORD, and your plans will succeed.

4. The LORD has made everything for his own ends, even the wicked for the evil day.

5. ഗര്വ്വമുള്ള ഏവനും യഹോവേക്കു വെറുപ്പു; അവന്നു ശിക്ഷ വരാതിരിക്കയില്ല എന്നതിന്നു ഞാന് കയ്യടിക്കുന്നു.

5. Every proud man is an abomination to the LORD; I assure you that he will not go unpunished.

6. ദയയും വിശ്വസ്തതയുംകൊണ്ടു അകൃത്യം പരിഹരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു; യഹോവാഭക്തികൊണ്ടു മനുഷ്യര് ദോഷത്തെ വിട്ടകലുന്നു.

6. By kindness and piety guilt is expiated, and by the fear of the LORD man avoids evil.

7. ഒരുത്തന്റെ വഴികള് യഹോവേക്കു ഇഷ്ടമായിരിക്കുമ്പോള് അവന് അവന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെയും അവനോടു ഇണക്കുന്നു.

7. When the LORD is pleased with a man's ways, he makes even his enemies be at peace with him.

8. ന്യായരഹിതമായ വലിയ വരവിനെക്കാള് നീതിയോടെയുള്ള അല്പം നല്ലതു.

8. Better a little with virtue, than a large income with injustice.

9. മനുഷ്യന്റെ ഹൃദയം തന്റെ വഴിയെ നിരൂപിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ കാലടികളെയോ യഹോവ ക്രമപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു.

9. In his mind a man plans his course, but the LORD directs his steps.

10. രാജാവിന്റെ അധരങ്ങളില് അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടു; ന്യായവിധിയില് അവന്റെ വായ് പിഴെക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

10. The king's lips are an oracle; no judgment he pronounces is false.

11. ഒത്ത വെള്ളിക്കോലും ത്രാസും യഹോവേക്കുള്ളവ; സഞ്ചിയിലെ പടി ഒക്കെയും അവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിയാകുന്നു.

11. Balance and scales belong to the LORD; all the weights used with them are his concern.

12. ദുഷ്ടത പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നതു രാജാക്കന്മാര്ക്കും വെറുപ്പു; നീതികൊണ്ടല്ലോ സിംഹാസനം സ്ഥിരപ്പെടുന്നതു.

12. Kings have a horror of wrongdoing, for by righteousness the throne endures.

13. നീതിയുള്ള അധരങ്ങള് രാജാക്കന്മാര്ക്കും പ്രസാദം; നേര് പറയുന്നവനെ അവര് സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു.

13. The king takes delight in honest lips, and the man who speaks what is right he loves.

14. രാജാവിന്റെ ക്രോധം മരണദൂതന്നു തുല്യം; ജ്ഞാനമുള്ള മനുഷ്യനോ അതിനെ ശമിപ്പിക്കും.

14. The king's wrath is like messengers of death, but a wise man can pacify it.

15. രാജാവിന്റെ മുഖപ്രകാശത്തില് ജീവന് ഉണ്ടു; അവന്റെ പ്രസാദം പിന്മഴെക്കുള്ള മേഘം പോലെയാകുന്നു.

15. In the light of the king's countenance is life, and his favor is like a rain cloud in spring.

16. തങ്കത്തെക്കാള് ജ്ഞാനത്തെ സമ്പാദിക്കുന്നതു എത്ര നല്ലതു! വെള്ളിയെക്കാള് വിവേകം സമ്പാദിക്കുന്നതു എത്ര ഉത്തമം!

16. How much better to acquire wisdom than gold! To acquire understanding is more desirable than silver.

17. ദോഷം അകറ്റിനടക്കുന്നതു നേരുള്ളവരുടെ പെരുവഴി; തന്റെ വഴി സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നവന് തന്റെ പ്രാണനെ കാത്തുകൊള്ളുന്നു.

17. The path of the upright avoids misfortune; he who pays attention to his way safeguards his life.

18. നാശത്തിന്നു മുമ്പെ ഗര്വ്വം; വീഴ്ചകൂ മുമ്പെ ഉന്നതഭാവം.

18. Pride goes before disaster, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

19. ഗര്വ്വികളോടുകൂടെ കവര്ച്ച പങ്കിടുന്നതിനെക്കാള് താഴ്മയുള്ളവരോടുകൂടെ താഴ്മയുള്ളവനായിരിക്കുന്നതു നല്ലതു.

19. It is better to be humble with the meek than to share plunder with the proud.

20. തിരുവചനം പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവന് നന്മ കണ്ടെത്തും; യഹോവയില് ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവന് ഭാഗ്യവാന് .

20. He who plans a thing will be successful; happy is he who trusts in the LORD!

21. ജ്ഞാനഹൃദയന് വിവേകി എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും; അധരമാധുര്യം വിദ്യയെ വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

21. The wise man is esteemed for his discernment, yet pleasing speech increases his persuasiveness.

22. വിവേകം വിവേകിക്കു ജീവന്റെ ഉറവാകുന്നു. ഭോഷന്മാരുടെ പ്രബോധനമോ ഭോഷത്വം തന്നേ.

22. Good sense is a fountain of life to its possessor, but folly brings chastisement on fools.

23. ജ്ഞാനിയുടെ ഹൃദയം അവന്റെ വായെ പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ അധരങ്ങള്ക്കു വിദ്യ വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

23. The mind of the wise man makes him eloquent, and augments the persuasiveness of his lips.

24. ഇമ്പമുള്ള വാക്കു തേന് കട്ടയാകുന്നു; മനസ്സിന്നു മധുരവും അസ്ഥികള്ക്കു ഔഷധവും തന്നേ;

24. Pleasing words are a honeycomb, sweet to the taste and healthful to the body.

25. ചിലപ്പോള് ഒരു വഴി മനുഷ്യന്നു ചൊവ്വായി തോന്നുന്നു. അതിന്റെ അവസാനമോ മരണവഴികള് അത്രേ.

25. Sometimes a way seems right to a man, but the end of it leads to death!

26. പണിക്കാരന്റെ വിശപ്പു അവനെക്കൊണ്ടു പണി ചെയ്യിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ വായ് അവനെ അതിന്നായി നിര്ബ്ബന്ധിക്കുന്നു.

26. The laborer's appetite labors for him, for his mouth urges him on.

27. നിസ്സാരമനുഷ്യന് പാതകം എന്ന കുഴികുഴിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ അധരങ്ങളില് കത്തുന്ന തീ ഉണ്ടു.

27. A scoundrel is a furnace of evil, and on his lips there is a scorching fire.

28. വക്രതയുള്ള മനുഷ്യന് വഴക്കു ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; ഏഷണിക്കാരന് മിത്രങ്ങളെ ഭേദിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

28. An intriguer sows discord, and a talebearer separates bosom friends.

29. സഹാസക്കാരന് കൂട്ടുകാരനെ വശീകരിക്കയും കൊള്ളരുതാത്ത വഴിയില് നടത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

29. A lawless man allures his neighbor, and leads him into a way that is not good.

30. കണ്ണു അടെക്കുന്നവന് വക്രത നിരൂപിക്കുന്നു; വപ്പു കടിക്കുന്നവന് ദോഷം നിവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നു.

30. He who winks his eye is plotting trickery; he who compresses his lips has mischief ready.

31. നരച്ച തല ശോഭയുള്ള കിരീടമാകുന്നു; നീതിയുടെ മാര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് അതിനെ പ്രാപിക്കാം.

31. Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained by virtuous living.

32. ദീര്ഘക്ഷമയുള്ളവന് യുദ്ധവീരനിലും ജിതമാനസന് പട്ടണം പിടിക്കുന്നവനിലും ശ്രേഷ്ഠന് .

32. A patient man is better than a warrior, and he who rules his temper, than he who takes a city.

33. ചീട്ടു മടിയില് ഇടുന്നു; അതിന്റെ വിധാനമോ യഹോവയാലത്രേ.

33. When the lot is cast into the lap, its decision depends entirely on the LORD.
