14. വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങുന്നവന് ചീത്തചീത്ത എന്നു പറയുന്നു; വാങ്ങി തന്റെ വഴിക്കു പോകുമ്പോഴോ അവന് പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നു.

14. The shopper says, 'That's junk--I'll take it off your hands,' then goes off boasting of the bargain.

15. പൊന്നും അനവധി മുത്തുകളും ഉണ്ടല്ലോ; പരിജ്ഞാനമുള്ള അധരങ്ങളോ വിലയേറിയ ആഭരണം.

15. Drinking from the beautiful chalice of knowledge is better than adorning oneself with gold and rare gems.

16. അന്യന്നു വേണ്ടി ജാമ്യം നിലക്കുന്നവന്റെ വസ്ത്രം എടുത്തുകൊള്ക; അന്യജാതിക്കാരന്നു വേണ്ടി ഉത്തരവാദി ആകുന്നവനോടു പണയം വാങ്ങുക.

16. Hold tight to collateral on any loan to a stranger; beware of accepting what a transient has pawned.

25. “ഇതു നിവേദിതം” എന്നു തത്രപ്പെട്ടു നേരുന്നതും നേര്ന്നശേഷം നിരൂപിക്കുന്നതും മനുഷ്യന്നു ഒരു കണി.

25. An impulsive vow is a trap; later you'll wish you could get out of it.

26. ജ്ഞാനമുള്ള രാജാവു ദുഷ്ടന്മാരെ പേറ്റിക്കളയുന്നു; അവരുടെ മേല് അവന് മെതിവണ്ടി ഉരുട്ടുന്നു.
