1. ജ്ഞാനമായവള് വിളിച്ചുപറയുന്നില്ലയോ? ബുദ്ധിയായവള് തന്റെ സ്വരം കേള്പ്പിക്കുന്നില്ലയോ?

1. Does not wisdom call? Does not understanding raise her voice?

2. അവള് വഴിയരികെ മേടുകളുടെ മുകളില് പാതകള് കൂടുന്നേടത്തു നിലക്കുന്നു.

2. She takes her stand on the top of the hill beside the way, where the paths meet.

3. അവള് പടിവാതിലുകളുടെ അരികത്തും പട്ടണവാതില്ക്കലും ഗോപുരദ്വാരത്തിങ്കലും ഘോഷിക്കുന്നതു

3. Beside the gates in front of the town, at the open doors, she cries out,

4. പുരുഷന്മാരേ, ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു വിളിച്ചു പറയുന്നു; എന്റെ സ്വരം മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കു വരുന്നു.

4. I call to you, O men. My voice is to the sons of men.

5. അല്പബുദ്ധികളേ, സൂക്ഷ്മബുദ്ധി ഗ്രഹിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് ; മൂഢന്മാരേ, വിവേകഹൃദയന്മാരാകുവിന് .

5. O childlike ones, learn to use wisdom. O fools, make your mind understand.

6. കേള്പ്പിന് , ഞാന് ഉല്കൃഷ്ടമായതു സംസാരിക്കും; എന്റെ അധരങ്ങളെ തുറക്കുന്നതു നേരിന്നു ആയിരിക്കും.

6. Listen, for I will speak great things. What is right will come from my lips.

7. എന്റെ വായ് സത്യം സംസാരിക്കും; ദുഷ്ടത എന്റെ അധരങ്ങള്ക്കു അറെപ്പാകുന്നു.

7. For my mouth will speak the truth. My lips hate wrong-doing.

8. എന്റെ വായിലെ മൊഴി ഒക്കെയും നീതിയാകുന്നു; അവയില് വക്രവും വികടവുമായതു ഒന്നുമില്ല.

8. All the words of my mouth are right and good. There is nothing in them that is against the truth.

9. അവയെല്ലാം ബുദ്ധിമാന്നു തെളിവും പരിജ്ഞാനം ലഭിച്ചവര്ക്കും നേരും ആകുന്നു.

9. They are all clear to him who understands, and right to those who find much learning.

10. വെള്ളിയെക്കാള് എന്റെ പ്രബോധനവും മേത്തരമായ പൊന്നിനെക്കാള് പരിജ്ഞാനവും കൈക്കൊള്വിന് .

10. Take my teaching instead of silver. Take much learning instead of fine gold.

11. ജ്ഞാനം മുത്തുകളെക്കാള് നല്ലതാകുന്നു; മനോഹരമായതൊന്നും അതിന്നു തുല്യമാകയില്ല.

11. For wisdom is better than stones of great worth. All that you may desire cannot compare with her.

12. ജ്ഞാനം എന്ന ഞാന് സൂക്ഷ്മബുദ്ധിയെ എന്റെ പാര്പ്പിടമാക്കുന്നു; പരിജ്ഞാനവും വകതിരിവും ഞാന് കണ്ടു പിടിക്കുന്നു.

12. I, wisdom, live with understanding, and I find much learning and careful thinking.

13. യഹോവാഭക്തി ദോഷത്തെ വെറുക്കുന്നതാകുന്നു; ഡംഭം, അഹങ്കാരം, ദുര്മ്മാര്ഗ്ഗം, വക്രതയുള്ള വായ് എന്നിവയെ ഞാന് പകെക്കുന്നു.

13. The fear of the Lord is to hate what is sinful. I hate pride, self-love, the way of sin, and lies.

14. ആലോചനയും പരിജ്ഞാനവും എനിക്കുള്ളതു; ഞാന് തന്നേ വിവേകം; എനിക്കു വീര്യബലം ഉണ്ടു.

14. I have teaching and wisdom. I have understanding and power.

15. ഞാന് മുഖാന്തരം രാജാക്കന്മാര് വാഴുന്നു; പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് നീതിയെ നടത്തുന്നു.

15. By me kings rule and rulers make laws that are fair.

16. ഞാന് മുഖാന്തരം അധിപതിമാരും പ്രധാനികളും ഭൂമിയിലെ ന്യായാധിപന്മാരൊക്കെയും ആധിപത്യം നടത്തുന്നു.

16. By me rulers rule, and all the princes rule on the earth.

17. എന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവരെ ഞാന് സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു; എന്നെ ജാഗ്രതയോടെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവര് എന്നെ കണ്ടെത്തും.

17. I love those who love me, and those who look for me with much desire will find me.

18. എന്റെ പക്കല് ധനവും മാനവും പുരാതനസമ്പത്തും നീതിയും ഉണ്ടു.

18. Riches and honor are mine, lasting riches and being right with God.

19. എന്റെ ഫലം പൊന്നിലും തങ്കത്തിലും എന്റെ ആദായം മേത്തരമായ വെള്ളിയിലും നല്ലതു.

19. My fruit is better than gold, even pure gold. What I give is better than fine silver.

20. എന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും വസ്തുവക അവകാശമാക്കിക്കൊടുക്കയും അവരുടെ ഭണ്ഡാരങ്ങളെ നിറെക്കയും ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു

20. I walk in the way that is right with God, in the center of the ways that are fair.

21. ഞാന് നീതിയുടെ മാര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലും ന്യായത്തിന്റെ പാതകളിലും നടക്കുന്നു.

21. I give riches to those who love me, and fill their store-houses.

22. യഹോവ പണ്ടുപണ്ടേ തന്റെ വഴിയുടെ ആരംഭമായി, തന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികളുടെ ആദ്യമായി എന്നെ ഉളവാക്കി.

22. 'The Lord made me at the beginning of His work, before His first works long ago.

23. ഞാന് പുരാതനമേ, ആദിയില് തന്നേ, ഭൂമിയുടെ ഉല്പത്തിക്കു മുമ്പെ നിയമിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

23. I was set apart long ago, from the beginning, before the earth was.

24. ആഴങ്ങള് ഇല്ലാതിരുന്നപ്പോള് ഞാന് ജനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; വെള്ളം നിറഞ്ഞ ഉറവുകള് ഇല്ലാതിരുന്നപ്പോള് തന്നേ.

24. I was born when there were no seas, when there were no pools full of water.

25. പര്വ്വതങ്ങളെ സ്ഥാപിച്ചതിന്നു മുമ്പെയും കുന്നുകള്ക്കു മുമ്പെയും ഞാന് ജനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

25. I was born before the mountains and hills were in their places.

26. അവന് ഭൂമിയെയും വയലുകളെയും ഭൂതലത്തിന്റെ പൊടിയുടെ തുകയെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കീട്ടില്ലാത്ത സമയത്തു തന്നേ.

26. It was before He had made the earth or the fields, or the first dust of the world.

27. അവന് ആകാശത്തെ ഉറപ്പിച്ചപ്പോള് ഞാന് അവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവന് ആഴത്തിന്റെ ഉപരിഭാഗത്തു വൃത്തം വരെച്ചപ്പോഴും

27. I was there when He made the heavens, and when He drew a mark around the top of the sea.

28. I was there when He put the skies above, and when He put the wells of the waters in their place.

29. I was there when He marked out the places for the sea, so that the waters would not go farther than what He said. I was there when He marked out the ground for the earth.

30. I was beside Him as the leading workman. I was His joy every day. I was always happy when I was near Him.

31. അവന്റെ ഭൂതലത്തില് ഞാന് വിനോദിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; എന്റെ പ്രമോദം മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്മാരോടുകൂടെ ആയിരുന്നു.

31. I was happy in the world, His earth, and found joy in the sons of men.

32. ആകയാല് മക്കളേ, എന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടുകൊള്വിന് ; എന്റെ വഴികളെ പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവര് ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാര്.

32. So now, O sons, listen to me, for happy are they who keep my ways.

33. പ്രബോധനം കേട്ടു ബുദ്ധിമാന്മാരായിരിപ്പിന് ; അതിനെ ത്യജിച്ചുകളയരുതു.

33. Hear my teaching and be wise. Do not turn away from it.

34. ദിവസംപ്രതി എന്റെ പടിവാതില്ക്കല് ജാഗരിച്ചും എന്റെ വാതില്ക്കട്ടളെക്കല് കാത്തുകൊണ്ടും എന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടനുസരിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യന് ഭാഗ്യവാന് .

34. Happy is the man who listens to me, watching every day at my gates, waiting beside my doors.

35. എന്നെ കണ്ടെത്തുന്നവന് ജീവനെ കണ്ടെത്തുന്നു; അവന് യഹോവയുടെ കടാക്ഷം പ്രാപിക്കുന്നു.

35. For he who finds me finds life, and gets favor from the Lord.

36. എന്നോടു പിഴെക്കുന്നവനോ തനിക്കു പ്രാണഹാനി വരുത്തുന്നു; എന്നെ ദ്വേഷിക്കുന്നവരൊക്കെയും മരണത്തെ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു.

36. But he who misses me hurts himself. All those who hate me love death.'
