1. സ്ത്രീകളില് അതിസുന്ദരിയായുള്ളോവേ, നിന്റെ പ്രിയന് എവിടെ പോയിരിക്കുന്നു? നിന്റെ പ്രിയന് ഏതുവഴിക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു? ഞങ്ങള് നിന്നോടുകൂടെ അവനെ അന്വേഷിക്കാം.

1. My welbeloued is gone downe into his garden to the beds of spices, to feede in the gardens, and to gather lilies.

2. തോട്ടങ്ങളില് മേയിപ്പാനും തമാരപ്പൂക്കളെ പറിപ്പാനും എന്റെ പ്രിയന് തന്റെ തോട്ടത്തില് സുഗന്ധസസ്യങ്ങളുടെ തടങ്ങളിലേക്കു ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നു.

2. I am my welbeloueds, and my welbeloued is mine, who feedeth among the lilies.

3. ഞാന് എന്റെ പ്രിയന്നുള്ളവള്; എന്റെ പ്രിയന് എനിക്കുള്ളവന് ; അവന് താമരകളുടെ ഇടയില് മേയക്കുന്നു.

3. Thou art beautifull, my loue, as Tirzah, comely as Ierusale, terrible as an army with baners.

4. എന്റെ പ്രിയേ, നീ തിര്സ്സാപോലെ സൌന്ദര്യമുള്ളവള്; യെരൂശലേംപോലെ മനോഹര, കൊടികളോടു കൂടിയ സൈന്യംപോലെ ഭയങ്കര.

4. Turne away thine eyes from me: for they ouercome mee: thine heare is like a flocke of goates, which looke downe from Gilead.

5. നിന്റെ കണ്ണു എങ്കല്നിന്നു തിരിക്ക; അതു എന്നെ ഭ്രമിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ തലമുടി ഗിലെയാദ് മലഞ്ചെരിവില് കിടക്കുന്ന കോലാട്ടിന് കൂട്ടംപോലെയാകുന്നു.

5. Thy teeth are like a flocke of sheepe, which goe vp from the washing, which euery one bring out twinnes, and none is barren among them.

6. നിന്റെ പല്ലു കുളിച്ചു കയറിവരുന്ന ആടുകളെപ്പോലെയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവയില് ഒന്നും മച്ചിയായിരിക്കാതെ എല്ലാം ഇരട്ട പ്രസവിക്കുന്നു.

6. Thy temples are within thy lockes as a piece of a pomegranate.

7. നിന്റെ ചെന്നികള് നിന്റെ മൂടുപടത്തിന്റെ ഉള്ളില് മാതളപ്പഴത്തിന്റെ ഖണ്ഡംപോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

7. There are threescore Queenes and fourescore concubines and of the damsels without nober.

8. അറുപതു രാജ്ഞികളും എണ്പതു വെപ്പാട്ടികളും അസംഖ്യം കന്യകമാരും ഉണ്ടല്ലോ.

8. But my doue is alone, and my vndefiled, she is the onely daughter of her mother, and shee is deare to her that bare her: the daughters haue seene her and counted her blessed: euen the Queenes and the concubines, and they haue praised her.

9. എന്റെ പ്രാവും എന്റെ നിഷ്കളങ്കയുമായവളോ ഒരുത്തി മാത്രം; അവള് തന്റെ അമ്മെക്കു ഏകപുത്രിയും തന്നെ പ്രസവിച്ചവള്ക്കു ഔമനയും ആകുന്നു; കന്യകമാര് അവളെ കണ്ടു ഭാഗ്യവതി എന്നു വാഴ്ത്തും; രാജ്ഞികളും വെപ്പാട്ടികളും കൂടെ അവളെ പുകഴ്ത്തും.

9. Who is shee that looketh foorth as the morning, fayre as the moone, pure as the sunne, terrible as an armie with banners!

10. അരുണോദയംപോലെ ശോഭയും ചന്ദ്രനെപ്പോലെ സൌന്ദര്യവും സൂര്യനെപ്പോലെ നിര്മ്മലതയും കൊടികളോടു കൂടിയ സൈന്യംപോലെ ഭയങ്കരത്വവും ഉള്ളോരിവള് ആര്?

10. I went downe to the garden of nuttes, to see the fruites of the valley, to see if the vine budded, and if the pomegranates flourished.

11. ഞാന് തോട്ടിന്നരികെയുള്ള സസ്യങ്ങളെ കാണേണ്ടതിന്നും മുന്തിരിവള്ളി തളിര്ക്കയും മാതളനാരകം പൂക്കയും ചെയ്തുവോ എന്നു നോക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും അക്രോത്ത് തോട്ടത്തിലേക്കു ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു.

11. I knewe nothing, my soule set me as the charets of my noble people.

12. എന്റെ അഭിലാഷം ഹേതുവായി ഞാന് അറിയാതെ എന്റെ പ്രഭുജനത്തിന് രഥങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് എത്തി.

12. Returne, returne, O Shulamite, returne: returne that we may behold thee. What shall you see in the Shulamite, but as the company of an armie?
