1. പാപത്തോടു പാപം കൂട്ടുവാന് തക്കവണ്ണം എന്നെ കൂടാതെ ആലോചന കഴിക്കയും എന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ കൂടാതെ സഖ്യത ചെയ്കയും

1. Woe to the rebellious sons, says Jehovah, who make advice, but not of Me; and who cover with a covering, but not of My Spirit, that they add sin to sin;

2. ഫറവോന്റെ സംരക്ഷണയില് തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ സംരക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും മിസ്രയീമിന്റെ നിഴലില് ശരണം പ്രാപിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും എന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു ചോദിക്കാതെ മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു പോകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന മത്സരമുള്ള മക്കള്ക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

2. those who set out to go down to Egypt and have not asked at My mouth; to take refuge in the strength of Pharaoh and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!

3. എന്നാല് ഫറവോന്റെ സംരക്ഷണ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു നാണമായും മിസ്രയീമിന്റെ നിഴലിലെ ശരണം ലജ്ജയായും ഭവിക്കും.

3. Therefore the strength of Pharaoh shall be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt shall be your curse.

4. അവന്റെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് സോവനില് ആയി അവന്റെ ദൂതന്മാര് ഹാനേസില് എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

4. For his rulers were at Zoan, and his ambassadors came to Hanes.

5. അവര് ഒക്കെയും തങ്ങള്ക്കു ലജ്ജയും അപമാനവും അല്ലാതെ ഉപകാരമോ സഹായമോ പ്രയോജനമോ ഒന്നും വരാത്ത ഒരു ജാതിനിമിത്തം ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകും.

5. They were all ashamed of a people who could not profit them, nor be a help nor gain, but a shame and also a reproach.

6. തെക്കെ ദേശത്തിലെ മൃഗങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പ്രവാചകംസിംഹി, കേസരി, അണലി, പറക്കുന്ന അഗ്നിസര്പ്പം എന്നിവ വരുന്നതായി കഷ്ടവും ക്ളേശവും ഉള്ള ദേശത്തുകൂടി, അവര് ഇളം കഴുതപ്പുറത്തു തങ്ങളുടെ സമ്പത്തും ഒട്ടകപ്പുറത്തു തങ്ങളുടെ നിക്ഷേപങ്ങളും കയറ്റി തങ്ങള്ക്കു ഉപകാരം വരാത്ത ഒരു ജാതിയുടെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നു.

6. The burden concerning the beasts of the south. Into the land of trouble and woe. The lioness and the lion are from them; the viper, and the fiery flying serpent. They carry their riches on the shoulders of young asses, and their treasures on the humps of camels, to a people that cannot profit.

7. മിസ്രയീമ്യരുടെ സഹായം വ്യര്ത്ഥവും നിഷ്ഫലവുമത്രെ; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് അതിന്നുഅനങ്ങാതിരിക്കുന്ന സാഹസക്കാര് എന്നു പേര് വിളിക്കുന്നു.

7. For Egypt helps vainly, and worthlessly. So I have cried concerning this, Their strength is to sit still.

8. നീ ഇപ്പോള് ചെന്നു, വരുങ്കാലത്തേക്കു ഒരു ശാശ്വതസാക്ഷ്യമായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരുടെ മുമ്പാകെ അതിനെ ഒരു പലകയില് എഴുതി ഒരു രേഖയായി കുറിച്ചുവെക്കുക.

8. Now go, write it before them in a tablet, and note it in a book, so that it may be for the time to come forever and ever,

9. അവര് മത്സരമുള്ളോരു ജനവും ഭോഷകു പറയുന്നമക്കളും യഹോവയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം അനുസരിക്കാത്ത സന്തതിയുമല്ലോ.

9. that this is a rebellious people, lying sons. They are sons who will not hear the Law of Jehovah;

10. അവര് ദര്ശകന്മാരോടുദര്ശിക്കരുതു; പ്രവാചകന്മാരോടുനേരുള്ളതു ഞങ്ങളോടു പ്രവചിക്കരുതു; മധുരവാക്കു ഞങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിപ്പിന് ; വ്യാജങ്ങളെ പ്രവചിപ്പിന് ;

10. who say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Do not prophesy to us right things, speak to us smooth things, prophesy falsehood;

11. വഴി വിട്ടു നടപ്പിന് ; പാത തെറ്റി നടപ്പിന് ; യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധനെ ഞങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു നീങ്ങുമാറാക്കുവിന് എന്നു പറയുന്നു.

11. go out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.

12. ആകയാല് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധന് ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനിങ്ങള് ഈ വചനത്തെ നിരസിച്ചുകളകയും പീഡനത്തിലും വക്രതയിലും ആശ്രയിച്ചു ചാരിനില്ക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു കൊണ്ടു,

12. Therefore so says the Holy One of Israel, Because you have despised this Word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and rest on them;

13. ഈ അകൃത്യം നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഉയര്ന്ന ചുവരില് ഉന്തിനിലക്കുന്നതും പെട്ടന്നു ഒരു മാത്രകൊണ്ടു വീഴുന്നതും ആയ ഒരു പൊട്ടല് പോലെ ആയിരിക്കും.

13. therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking comes suddenly, in an instant.

14. അടുപ്പില്നിന്നു തീ എടുപ്പാനോ കുളത്തില്നിന്നു വെള്ളം കോരുവാനോ കൊള്ളാകുന്ന ഒരു കഷണംപോലും ശേഷിക്കാതവണ്ണം ഒരുവന് കുശവന്റെ പൊട്ടക്കലം ഗണ്യമാക്കാതെ ഉടെച്ചുകളയുന്നതു പോലെ അവന് അതിനെ ഉടെച്ചുകളയും.

14. And He shall break it as the breaking of the potters' vessel that is broken in pieces. He shall have no pity, so that there shall not be found in the breaking of it a shard to take fire from the hearth, or to take water out of the pit.

15. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധനായി യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുമനന്തിരിഞ്ഞു അടങ്ങിയിരുന്നാല് നിങ്ങള് രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും. വിശ്രമിക്കുന്നതിലും ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നതിലും നിങ്ങളുടെ ബലം; എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു മനസ്സാകാതെഅല്ല;

15. For so says the Lord Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel, In returning and rest you shall be saved; and in quietness and hope shall be your strength. And you were not willing.

16. ഞങ്ങള് കുതിരപ്പുറത്തു കയറി ഔടിപ്പോകും എന്നു നിങ്ങള് പറഞ്ഞു; അതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങള് ഔടിപ്പോകേണ്ടിവരും; ഞങ്ങള് തുരഗങ്ങളിന്മേല് കയറിപ്പോകും എന്നും പറഞ്ഞു; അതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളെ പിന്തുടരുന്നവരും വേഗതയുള്ളവരായിരിക്കും.

16. But you said, No; for we will flee on a horse. Therefore you shall flee. And you said, We will ride on the swift; therefore those who pursue you shall be swift.

17. മലമുകളില് ഒരു കൊടിമരം പോലെയും കുന്നിമ്പുറത്തു ഒരു കൊടിപോലെയും നിങ്ങള് ശേഷിക്കുന്നതുവരെ, ഏകന്റെ ഭീഷണിയാല് ആയിരം പേരും അഞ്ചുപേരുടെ ഭീഷണിയാല് നിങ്ങള് ഒക്കെയും ഔടിപ്പോകും.

17. One thousand shall flee at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five you shall flee, until you are left as a pole on the top of a mountain, and as a sign on a hill.

18. അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ നിങ്ങളോടു കൃപ കാണിപ്പാന് താമസിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു അവന് നിങ്ങളോടു കരുണ കാണിക്കാതവണ്ണം ഉയര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവ ന്യായത്തിന്റെ ദൈവമല്ലോ; അവന്നായി കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നവരൊക്കെയും; ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാര്.

18. And so Jehovah waits to be gracious to you. And therefore He is exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For Jehovah is a God of judgment; blessed are all those who wait for Him.

19. യെരൂശലേമ്യരായ സീയോന് നിവാസികളേ, ഇനി കരഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കേണ്ടാ; നിങ്ങളുടെ നിലവിളിയുടെ ശബ്ദത്തിങ്കല് അവന്നു നിശ്ചയമായിട്ടു കരുണ തോന്നും; അതു കേള്ക്കുമ്പോള് തന്നേ അവന് ഉത്തരം അരുളും.

19. For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem; you shall weep no more; He will be very gracious to you at the voice of your cry. When He hears it, He will answer you.

20. കര്ത്താവു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു കഷ്ടത്തിന്റെ അപ്പവും ഞെരുക്കത്തിന്റെ വെള്ളവും മാത്രം തന്നാലും ഇനി നിന്റെ ഉപദേഷ്ടാവു മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കയില്ല; നിന്റെ കണ്ണു നിന്റെ ഉപദേഷ്ടാവിനെ കണ്ടുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കും.

20. And Jehovah gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction; yet your teachers shall not be removed into a corner any more, but your eyes shall see your teachers.

21. നിങ്ങള് വലത്തോട്ടോ ഇടത്തോട്ടോ തിരിയുമ്പോള്വഴി ഇതാകുന്നു, ഇതില് നടന്നുകൊള്വിന് എന്നൊരു വാക്കു പിറകില്നിന്നു കേള്ക്കും.

21. And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, This is the way, walk in it, when you turn to the right hand and when you turn to the left.

22. വെള്ളി പൊതിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന ബിംബങ്ങളെയും പൊന്നു പൊതിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെയും നിങ്ങള് അശുദ്ധമാക്കും; അവയെ മലിനമായോരു വസ്തുപോലെ എറിഞ്ഞുകളകയും പൊയ്ക്കൊ എന്നു പറകയും ചെയ്യും.

22. You shall also defile the covering of your graven images of silver, and the ornament of your molten images of gold. You shall cast them away like a menstruous cloth. You shall say to it, Get away.

23. നീ നിലത്തു വിതെക്കുന്ന വിത്തിന്നു മഴയും നിലത്തിലെ വിളവായ അപ്പവും അവന് നിനക്കു തരും; അതു പുഷ്ടിയും സമൃദ്ധിയും ഉള്ളതായിരിക്കും; അന്നു നിന്റെ കന്നുകാലികള് വിസ്താരമായ മേച്ചല്പുറങ്ങളില് മേയും.

23. Then He shall give the rain for your seed, with which you sow the ground. And the bread of the produce of the earth also shall be fat and plentiful. In that day your cattle shall feed in large pastures.

24. നിലം ഉഴുന്ന കാളകളും കഴുതകളും മുറംകൊണ്ടും പല്ലികൊണ്ടും വീശി വെടിപ്പാക്കിയതും ഉപ്പു ചേര്ത്തതുമായ തീന് തിന്നും.

24. Also the oxen and the young asses that plow the ground shall eat clean fodder, which has been winnowed with the shovel and with the fork.

25. മഹാസംഹാരദിവസത്തില് ഗോപുരങ്ങള് വീഴുമ്പോള്, ഉയരമുള്ള എല്ലാമലയിലും പൊക്കമുള്ള എല്ലാകുന്നിന്മേലും തോടുകളും നീരൊഴുക്കുകളും ഉണ്ടാകും.

25. And there shall be on every high mountain, and on every high hill, rivers, streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.

26. യഹോവ തന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ മുറിവു കെട്ടുകയും അവരുടെ അടിപ്പിണര് പൊറുപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന നാളില് ചന്ദ്രന്റെ പ്രകാശം സൂര്യന്റെ പ്രകാശം പോലെയാകും; സൂര്യന്റെ പ്രകാശം ഏഴു പകലിന്റെ പ്രകാശംപോലെ ഏഴിരട്ടിയായിരിക്കും.

26. And the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that Jehovah binds up the break of His people and heals the stroke of their wound.

27. ഇതാ, കോപം ജ്വലിച്ചും കനത്ത പുക പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയുടെ നാമം ദൂരത്തുനിന്നു വരുന്നു; അവന്റെ അധരങ്ങളില് ഉഗ്രകോപം നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ നാവു ദഹിപ്പിക്കുന്ന തീപോലെയും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

27. Behold, the name of Jehovah comes from far, burning with His anger, and uplifting of smoke; His lips are full of fury, and His tongue like a devouring fire.

28. ജാതികളെ നാശത്തിന്റെ അരിപ്പകൊണ്ടു അരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന്റെ ശ്വാസം കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകുന്നതും കഴുത്തോളം വെള്ളമുള്ളതും ആയ തോടുപോലെയും ജാതികളുടെ വായില് അവരെ തെറ്റിച്ചുകളയുന്ന ഒരു കടിഞ്ഞാണായും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

28. And like an overflowing stream, His breath shall reach to the middle of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity. And a bridle will be in the jaws of the people, causing them to go astray.

29. നിങ്ങള് ഉത്സവാഘോഷരാത്രിയില് എന്നപോലെ പാട്ടുപാടുകയും യഹോവയുടെ പര്വ്വതത്തില് യിസ്രായേലിന് പാറയായവന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെല്ലേണ്ടതിന്നു കുഴലോടുകൂടെ പോകുംപോലെ ഹൃദയപൂര്വ്വം സന്തോഷിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

29. You shall have a song, as in the keeping of a holy feast night; and gladness of heart, as when one goes with a flute to come into the mountain of Jehovah, to the mighty One of Israel.

30. യഹോവ തന്റെ മഹത്വമുള്ള മേഘനാദം കേള്പ്പിക്കയും ഉഗ്രകോപത്തോടും ദഹിപ്പിക്കുന്ന അഗ്നിജ്വാലയോടും കൊടുങ്കാറ്റു മഴക്കോള്, കന്മഴ എന്നിവയോടും കൂടെ തന്റെ ഭുജത്തിന്റെ അവതരണം കാണിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

30. And Jehovah shall cause His glorious voice to be heard, and the bringing down of His arm shall be seen with raging anger and flame of a devouring fire, cloudburst and storm and hailstones.

31. യഹോവയുടെ മേഘനാദത്താല് അശ്ശൂര് തകര്ന്നുപോകും; തന്റെ വടികൊണ്ടു അവന് അവനെ അടിക്കും.

31. For through the voice of Jehovah, the Assyrian shall be beaten down, who struck with a rod.

32. യഹോവ അവനെ വിധിദണ്ഡുകൊണ്ടു അടിക്കുന്ന ഔരോ അടിയോടും കൂടെ തപ്പിന്റെയും കിന്നരത്തിന്റെയും നാദം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും; അവന് അവരോടു തകര്ത്ത പടവെട്ടും.

32. And in every place which the ordained staff shall pass, which Jehovah shall lay on him, it shall be with tambourines and harps; in battles of shaking He will fight with them.

33. പണ്ടു തന്നേ ഒരു ദഹനസ്ഥലം ഒരുക്കീട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ; അതു രാജാവിന്നായിട്ടും ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന് അതിനെ ആഴവും വിശാലവും ആക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിന്റെ ചിതയില് വളരെ തീയും വിറകും ഉണ്ടു; യഹോവയുടെ ശ്വാസം ഒരു ഗന്ധകനദിപോലെ അതിനെ കത്തിക്കും.

33. For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared. He has made it deep and large. He makes great with fire and wood. The breath of Jehovah kindles it, like a torrent of brimstone.
