1. പാപത്തോടു പാപം കൂട്ടുവാന് തക്കവണ്ണം എന്നെ കൂടാതെ ആലോചന കഴിക്കയും എന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ കൂടാതെ സഖ്യത ചെയ്കയും

1. Woe to the rebellious children, saith Jehovah, who take counsel, but not of me, and who make leagues, but not by my Spirit, that they may heap sin upon sin;

2. ഫറവോന്റെ സംരക്ഷണയില് തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ സംരക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും മിസ്രയീമിന്റെ നിഴലില് ശരണം പ്രാപിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും എന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു ചോദിക്കാതെ മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു പോകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന മത്സരമുള്ള മക്കള്ക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

2. who walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked of my mouth, -- to take refuge under the protection of Pharaoh, and trust in the shadow of Egypt!

3. എന്നാല് ഫറവോന്റെ സംരക്ഷണ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു നാണമായും മിസ്രയീമിന്റെ നിഴലിലെ ശരണം ലജ്ജയായും ഭവിക്കും.

3. For to you the protection of Pharaoh shall be a shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt a confusion.

4. അവന്റെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് സോവനില് ആയി അവന്റെ ദൂതന്മാര് ഹാനേസില് എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

4. For his princes were at Zoan, and his ambassadors came to Hanes.

5. അവര് ഒക്കെയും തങ്ങള്ക്കു ലജ്ജയും അപമാനവും അല്ലാതെ ഉപകാരമോ സഹായമോ പ്രയോജനമോ ഒന്നും വരാത്ത ഒരു ജാതിനിമിത്തം ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകും.

5. They were all ashamed of a people [that] did not profit them, nor were a help or profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.

6. തെക്കെ ദേശത്തിലെ മൃഗങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പ്രവാചകംസിംഹി, കേസരി, അണലി, പറക്കുന്ന അഗ്നിസര്പ്പം എന്നിവ വരുന്നതായി കഷ്ടവും ക്ളേശവും ഉള്ള ദേശത്തുകൂടി, അവര് ഇളം കഴുതപ്പുറത്തു തങ്ങളുടെ സമ്പത്തും ഒട്ടകപ്പുറത്തു തങ്ങളുടെ നിക്ഷേപങ്ങളും കയറ്റി തങ്ങള്ക്കു ഉപകാരം വരാത്ത ഒരു ജാതിയുടെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നു.

6. -- The burden of the beasts of the south: Through a land of trouble and anguish, whence come the lioness and lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they carry their riches upon the shoulders of asses, and their treasures upon the bunches of camels, to the people that shall not profit [them].

7. മിസ്രയീമ്യരുടെ സഹായം വ്യര്ത്ഥവും നിഷ്ഫലവുമത്രെ; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് അതിന്നുഅനങ്ങാതിരിക്കുന്ന സാഹസക്കാര് എന്നു പേര് വിളിക്കുന്നു.

7. For Egypt shall help in vain, and to no purpose; therefore have I named her, Arrogance, that doeth nothing.

8. നീ ഇപ്പോള് ചെന്നു, വരുങ്കാലത്തേക്കു ഒരു ശാശ്വതസാക്ഷ്യമായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരുടെ മുമ്പാകെ അതിനെ ഒരു പലകയില് എഴുതി ഒരു രേഖയായി കുറിച്ചുവെക്കുക.

8. Now go, write it before them on a tablet, and record it in a book, that it may be for the time to come, as a witness for ever,

9. അവര് മത്സരമുള്ളോരു ജനവും ഭോഷകു പറയുന്നമക്കളും യഹോവയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം അനുസരിക്കാത്ത സന്തതിയുമല്ലോ.

9. that this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of Jehovah;

10. അവര് ദര്ശകന്മാരോടുദര്ശിക്കരുതു; പ്രവാചകന്മാരോടുനേരുള്ളതു ഞങ്ങളോടു പ്രവചിക്കരുതു; മധുരവാക്കു ഞങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിപ്പിന് ; വ്യാജങ്ങളെ പ്രവചിപ്പിന് ;

10. who say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things; speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits;

11. വഴി വിട്ടു നടപ്പിന് ; പാത തെറ്റി നടപ്പിന് ; യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധനെ ഞങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു നീങ്ങുമാറാക്കുവിന് എന്നു പറയുന്നു.

11. get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us!

12. ആകയാല് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധന് ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനിങ്ങള് ഈ വചനത്തെ നിരസിച്ചുകളകയും പീഡനത്തിലും വക്രതയിലും ആശ്രയിച്ചു ചാരിനില്ക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു കൊണ്ടു,

12. Therefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel: Because ye reject this word, and confide in oppression and wilfulness, and depend thereon,

13. ഈ അകൃത്യം നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഉയര്ന്ന ചുവരില് ഉന്തിനിലക്കുന്നതും പെട്ടന്നു ഒരു മാത്രകൊണ്ടു വീഴുന്നതും ആയ ഒരു പൊട്ടല് പോലെ ആയിരിക്കും.

13. therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a towering wall, whose breaking shall come suddenly in an instant.

14. അടുപ്പില്നിന്നു തീ എടുപ്പാനോ കുളത്തില്നിന്നു വെള്ളം കോരുവാനോ കൊള്ളാകുന്ന ഒരു കഷണംപോലും ശേഷിക്കാതവണ്ണം ഒരുവന് കുശവന്റെ പൊട്ടക്കലം ഗണ്യമാക്കാതെ ഉടെച്ചുകളയുന്നതു പോലെ അവന് അതിനെ ഉടെച്ചുകളയും.

14. And he shall break it as the breaking of a potter's vessel, that is broken in pieces unsparingly; and in the pieces of it there shall not be found a sherd to take fire from the hearth, or to scoop water out of the cistern.

15. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധനായി യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുമനന്തിരിഞ്ഞു അടങ്ങിയിരുന്നാല് നിങ്ങള് രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും. വിശ്രമിക്കുന്നതിലും ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നതിലും നിങ്ങളുടെ ബലം; എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു മനസ്സാകാതെഅല്ല;

15. For thus saith the Lord Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel: In returning and rest shall ye be saved, in quietness and confidence shall be your strength; but ye would not.

16. ഞങ്ങള് കുതിരപ്പുറത്തു കയറി ഔടിപ്പോകും എന്നു നിങ്ങള് പറഞ്ഞു; അതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങള് ഔടിപ്പോകേണ്ടിവരും; ഞങ്ങള് തുരഗങ്ങളിന്മേല് കയറിപ്പോകും എന്നും പറഞ്ഞു; അതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളെ പിന്തുടരുന്നവരും വേഗതയുള്ളവരായിരിക്കും.

16. And ye said, No, but we will flee upon horses, -- therefore shall ye flee; and, We will ride upon the swift, -- therefore shall they that pursue you be swift.

17. മലമുകളില് ഒരു കൊടിമരം പോലെയും കുന്നിമ്പുറത്തു ഒരു കൊടിപോലെയും നിങ്ങള് ശേഷിക്കുന്നതുവരെ, ഏകന്റെ ഭീഷണിയാല് ആയിരം പേരും അഞ്ചുപേരുടെ ഭീഷണിയാല് നിങ്ങള് ഒക്കെയും ഔടിപ്പോകും.

17. One thousand [shall flee] at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five shall ye flee: till ye be left as a beacon upon the top of a mountain, and as a banner on a hill.

18. അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ നിങ്ങളോടു കൃപ കാണിപ്പാന് താമസിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു അവന് നിങ്ങളോടു കരുണ കാണിക്കാതവണ്ണം ഉയര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവ ന്യായത്തിന്റെ ദൈവമല്ലോ; അവന്നായി കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നവരൊക്കെയും; ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാര്.

18. And therefore will Jehovah wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he lift himself up, that he may have mercy upon you; for Jehovah is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.

19. യെരൂശലേമ്യരായ സീയോന് നിവാസികളേ, ഇനി കരഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കേണ്ടാ; നിങ്ങളുടെ നിലവിളിയുടെ ശബ്ദത്തിങ്കല് അവന്നു നിശ്ചയമായിട്ടു കരുണ തോന്നും; അതു കേള്ക്കുമ്പോള് തന്നേ അവന് ഉത്തരം അരുളും.

19. For the people shall dwell in Zion, at Jerusalem. Thou shalt weep no more; he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; as he heareth it, he will answer thee.

20. കര്ത്താവു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു കഷ്ടത്തിന്റെ അപ്പവും ഞെരുക്കത്തിന്റെ വെള്ളവും മാത്രം തന്നാലും ഇനി നിന്റെ ഉപദേഷ്ടാവു മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കയില്ല; നിന്റെ കണ്ണു നിന്റെ ഉപദേഷ്ടാവിനെ കണ്ടുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കും.

20. And the Lord will give you the bread of adversity, and the water of oppression; yet thy teachers shall not be hidden any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers.

21. നിങ്ങള് വലത്തോട്ടോ ഇടത്തോട്ടോ തിരിയുമ്പോള്വഴി ഇതാകുന്നു, ഇതില് നടന്നുകൊള്വിന് എന്നൊരു വാക്കു പിറകില്നിന്നു കേള്ക്കും.

21. And when ye turn to the right hand or when ye turn to the left, thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it.

22. വെള്ളി പൊതിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന ബിംബങ്ങളെയും പൊന്നു പൊതിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെയും നിങ്ങള് അശുദ്ധമാക്കും; അവയെ മലിനമായോരു വസ്തുപോലെ എറിഞ്ഞുകളകയും പൊയ്ക്കൊ എന്നു പറകയും ചെയ്യും.

22. And ye shall defile the silver covering of your graven images, and the gold overlaying of your molten images; thou shalt cast them away as a menstruous cloth: Out! shalt thou say unto it.

23. നീ നിലത്തു വിതെക്കുന്ന വിത്തിന്നു മഴയും നിലത്തിലെ വിളവായ അപ്പവും അവന് നിനക്കു തരും; അതു പുഷ്ടിയും സമൃദ്ധിയും ഉള്ളതായിരിക്കും; അന്നു നിന്റെ കന്നുകാലികള് വിസ്താരമായ മേച്ചല്പുറങ്ങളില് മേയും.

23. And he will give the rain of thy seed with which thou shalt sow the ground; and bread, the produce of the ground, and it shall be fat and rich. In that day shall thy cattle feed in large pastures;

24. നിലം ഉഴുന്ന കാളകളും കഴുതകളും മുറംകൊണ്ടും പല്ലികൊണ്ടും വീശി വെടിപ്പാക്കിയതും ഉപ്പു ചേര്ത്തതുമായ തീന് തിന്നും.

24. and the oxen and the asses that till the ground shall eat salted provender, which hath been winnowed with the shovel and with the fan.

25. മഹാസംഹാരദിവസത്തില് ഗോപുരങ്ങള് വീഴുമ്പോള്, ഉയരമുള്ള എല്ലാമലയിലും പൊക്കമുള്ള എല്ലാകുന്നിന്മേലും തോടുകളും നീരൊഴുക്കുകളും ഉണ്ടാകും.

25. And there shall be upon every high mountain and upon every hill that is lifted up, brooks [and] water-courses, in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.

26. യഹോവ തന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ മുറിവു കെട്ടുകയും അവരുടെ അടിപ്പിണര് പൊറുപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന നാളില് ചന്ദ്രന്റെ പ്രകാശം സൂര്യന്റെ പ്രകാശം പോലെയാകും; സൂര്യന്റെ പ്രകാശം ഏഴു പകലിന്റെ പ്രകാശംപോലെ ഏഴിരട്ടിയായിരിക്കും.

26. And the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that Jehovah bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the wound of their stroke.

27. ഇതാ, കോപം ജ്വലിച്ചും കനത്ത പുക പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയുടെ നാമം ദൂരത്തുനിന്നു വരുന്നു; അവന്റെ അധരങ്ങളില് ഉഗ്രകോപം നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ നാവു ദഹിപ്പിക്കുന്ന തീപോലെയും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

27. Behold, the name of Jehovah cometh from far, burning [with] his anger -- a grievous conflagration; his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a consuming fire;

28. ജാതികളെ നാശത്തിന്റെ അരിപ്പകൊണ്ടു അരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന്റെ ശ്വാസം കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകുന്നതും കഴുത്തോളം വെള്ളമുള്ളതും ആയ തോടുപോലെയും ജാതികളുടെ വായില് അവരെ തെറ്റിച്ചുകളയുന്ന ഒരു കടിഞ്ഞാണായും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

28. and his breath as an overflowing torrent, which reacheth even to the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of destruction, and [to put] a bridle into the jaws of the peoples, that causeth them to go astray.

29. നിങ്ങള് ഉത്സവാഘോഷരാത്രിയില് എന്നപോലെ പാട്ടുപാടുകയും യഹോവയുടെ പര്വ്വതത്തില് യിസ്രായേലിന് പാറയായവന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെല്ലേണ്ടതിന്നു കുഴലോടുകൂടെ പോകുംപോലെ ഹൃദയപൂര്വ്വം സന്തോഷിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

29. Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a feast is sanctified; and joy of heart, as of one who goeth with a pipe to come unto the mountain of Jehovah, to the Rock of Israel.

30. യഹോവ തന്റെ മഹത്വമുള്ള മേഘനാദം കേള്പ്പിക്കയും ഉഗ്രകോപത്തോടും ദഹിപ്പിക്കുന്ന അഗ്നിജ്വാലയോടും കൊടുങ്കാറ്റു മഴക്കോള്, കന്മഴ എന്നിവയോടും കൂടെ തന്റെ ഭുജത്തിന്റെ അവതരണം കാണിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

30. And Jehovah will cause the majesty of his voice to be heard, and will shew the lighting down of his arm with indignation of anger, and a flame of consuming fire, with waterflood and storm and hailstones.

31. യഹോവയുടെ മേഘനാദത്താല് അശ്ശൂര് തകര്ന്നുപോകും; തന്റെ വടികൊണ്ടു അവന് അവനെ അടിക്കും.

31. For through the voice of Jehovah shall the Assyrian be broken down: he will smite [him] with the rod.

32. യഹോവ അവനെ വിധിദണ്ഡുകൊണ്ടു അടിക്കുന്ന ഔരോ അടിയോടും കൂടെ തപ്പിന്റെയും കിന്നരത്തിന്റെയും നാദം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും; അവന് അവരോടു തകര്ത്ത പടവെട്ടും.

32. And wherever shall pass the appointed staff, which Jehovah shall lay upon him, it shall be with tambours and harps; and with tumultuous battles will he fight with it.

33. പണ്ടു തന്നേ ഒരു ദഹനസ്ഥലം ഒരുക്കീട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ; അതു രാജാവിന്നായിട്ടും ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന് അതിനെ ആഴവും വിശാലവും ആക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിന്റെ ചിതയില് വളരെ തീയും വിറകും ഉണ്ടു; യഹോവയുടെ ശ്വാസം ഒരു ഗന്ധകനദിപോലെ അതിനെ കത്തിക്കും.

33. For Topheth is prepared of old; for the king also it is prepared: he hath made it deep and large; its pile is fire and much wood; the breath of Jehovah, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it.
