1. ആ കാലത്തു ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്നു മരിക്കത്തക്ക രോഗം പിടിച്ചു; ആമോസിന്റെ മകനായ യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന് അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു അവനോടുനിന്റെ ഗൃഹകാര്യം ക്രമത്തിലാക്കുക; നീ മരിച്ചുപോകും; സൌഖ്യമാകയില്ല എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

1. Not longe afore this, was Ezechias deadsick: And the prophet Esay the sonne of Amos came vnto him, and sayde: Thus commaundeth the LORDE: Set thyne house in ordre, for thou must dye, and shalt not escape.

2. അപ്പോള് ഹിസ്കീയാവു മുഖം ചുവരിന്റെ നേരെ തിരിച്ചു യഹോവയോടു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു

2. Then Ezechias turned his face towarde the wall, & prayed vnto the LORDE,

3. അയ്യോ, യഹോവേ, ഞാന് വിശ്വസ്തതയോടും ഏകാഗ്രഹൃദയത്തോടും കൂടെ തിരുമുമ്പില് നടന്നു നിനക്കു പ്രസാദമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഔര്ക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; ഹിസ്കീയാവു ഏറ്റവും കരഞ്ഞു.

3. and sayde: Remembre (o LORDE) that I haue walked before the in treuth and a stedfast hert, and haue done the thinge that is pleasaunt to the. And Ezechias wepte sore.

4. എന്നാല് യെശയ്യാവിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്

4. The sayde God vnto Esay:

5. നീ ചെന്നു ഹിസ്കീയാവോടു പറയേണ്ടതുനിന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഞാന് നിന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന കേട്ടു നിന്റെ കണ്ണുനിര് കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. ഞാന് നിന്റെ ആയുസ്സിനോടു പതിനഞ്ചു സംവത്സരം കൂട്ടും.

5. Go and speake vnto Ezechias: The LORDE God of Dauid thy father sendeth ye this worde: I haue herde thy prayer, and considred thy teares: beholde, I will put xv yeares mo vnto thy life,

6. ഞാന് നിന്നെയും ഈ നഗരത്തെയും അശ്ശൂര്രാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു വിടുവിക്കും; ഈ നഗരത്തെ ഞാന് കാത്തുരക്ഷിക്കും.

6. and delyuer the and the citie also, from the honde of the kinge of Assiria, for I will defende the cite.

7. യഹോവ, താന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത ഈ കാര്യം നിവര്ത്തിക്കും എന്നുള്ളതിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ പക്കല്നിന്നു ഇതു നിനക്കു ഒരു അടയാളം ആകും.

7. And take the this token of the LORDE, yt he will do it, as he hath spoken:

8. ആഹാസിന്റെ ഘടികാരത്തില് സൂര്യഗതി അനുസരിച്ചു ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോയിരിക്കുന്ന നിഴലിനെ ഞാന് പത്തു പടി പിന്നോക്കം തിരിയുമാറാക്കും; ഇങ്ങനെ സൂര്യന് ഘടികാരത്തില് ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോയിരുന്ന പത്തു പടി തിരിഞ്ഞു പോന്നു.

8. Beholde, I will returne the shadowe of Achas Diall, yt now is layed out with the Sonne, and bringe it ten degrees bacward. So the Sonne turned ten degrees bacward, the which he was descended afore.

9. യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്നു രോഗം പിടിച്ചിട്ടു അതു മാറി സുഖമായ ശേഷം അവന് എഴുതിയ എഴുത്തു

9. A thankesgeuynge, which Ezechias kinge of Iuda wrote, when he had bene sicke, & was recouered.

10. എന്റെ ആയുസ്സിന് മദ്ധ്യാഹ്നത്തില് ഞാന് പാതാളവാതിലകം പൂകേണ്ടിവരുന്നു; എന്റെ ആണ്ടുകളുടെ ശേഷിപ്പും എനിക്കില്ലാതെ പോയി എന്നു ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞു.

10. I thought I shulde haue gone to the gates of hell in my best age, and haue wanted the residue of my yeares.

11. ഞാന് യഹോവയെ, ജീവനുള്ളവരുടെ ദേശത്തുവെച്ചു യഹോവയെ കാണുകയില്ല; ഞാന് ഭൂവാസികളുടെ ഇടയില്വെച്ചു ഇനി മനുഷ്യനെ കാണുകയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞു.

11. I spake within my self: I shal neuer viset the LORDE God in this life: I shal neuer se man, amonge the dwellers of the worlde

12. എന്റെ പാര്പ്പിടം നീങ്ങി ഒരു ഇടയക്കൂടാരം പോലെ എന്നെ വിട്ടുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു; നെയ്ത്തുകാരന് തുണി ചുരുട്ടുംപോലെ ഞാന് എന്റെ ജീവനെ ചുരുട്ടിവെക്കുന്നു; അവന് എന്നെ പാവില്നിന്നു അറുത്തുകളയുന്നു; ഒരു രാപകല് കഴിയുംമുമ്പെ നീ എനിക്കു അന്തംവരുത്തുന്നു.

12. Myne age is folden vp together and taken awaye fro me, like a sheperdes cotage: my lyfe is hewen of, like as a weeuer cutteth of his webb. Whyl I was yet takinge my rest, he hewed me of, & made an ende of me in one daie.

13. ഉഷസ്സുവരെ ഞാന് എന്നെത്തന്നേ അടക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; അവനോ സിംഹംപോലെ എന്റെ അസ്ഥികളെ എല്ലാം തകര്ത്തുകളയുന്നു; ഒരു രാപകല് കഴിയുംമുമ്പെ നീ എനിക്കു അന്തം വരുത്തുന്നു.

13. I thought I wolde haue lyued vnto the morow, but he brussed my bones like a lyon, and made an ende of me in one daye.

14. മീവല്പക്ഷിയോ കൊക്കോ എന്ന പോലെ ഞാന് ചിലെച്ചു; ഞാന് പ്രാവുപോലെ കുറുകി എന്റെ കണ്ണു ഉയരത്തിലേക്കു നോക്കി ക്ഷീണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവേ ഞാന് ഞെരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ എനിക്കു ഇട നില്ക്കേണമേ.

14. Then chatred I like a swalowe, and like a Crane, and mourned as a doue. I lift vp myne eyes in to ye hight: O LORDE, (sayde I) violence is done vnto me, be thou suertie for me.

15. ഞാന് എന്തു പറയേണ്ടു? അവന് എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു, അവന് തന്നേ നിവര്ത്തിച്ചും ഇരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ മനോവ്യസനം ഹേതുവായി ഞാന് എന്റെ കാലമൊക്കെയും സാവധാനത്തോടെ നടക്കും.

15. What shal I speake or say, ethat he maye this doo? yt I maye lyue out all my yeares, yee in the bytternesse of my life?

16. കര്ത്താവേ, അതിനാല് മനുഷ്യര് ജീവിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ജീവനും കേവലം അതിലത്രേ; അങ്ങനെ നീ എന്നെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കി എന്റെ ജീവനെ രക്ഷിക്കും.

16. Verely (LORDE,) men must lyue in bytternesse, & all my life must I passe ouer therin: For thou raysest me vp, and wakest me. But lo, I wilbe wel content with this bytternes.

17. സമാധാനത്തിന്നായി എനിക്കു അത്യന്തം കൈപ്പായതു ഭവിച്ചു; എങ്കിലും നീ എന്റെ സകലപാപങ്ങളെയും നിന്റെ പിറകില് എറിഞ്ഞുകളഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ നാശകൂഴിയില്നിന്നു സ്നേഹത്തോടെ രക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

17. Neuertheles my couersacion hath so pleased ye, that thou woldest not make an ende of my life, so that thou hast cast all my synnes behynde thy backe.

18. പാതാളം നിന്നെ സ്തുതിക്കുന്നില്ല; മരണം നിന്നെ വാഴ്ത്തുന്നില്ല; കുഴിയില് ഇറങ്ങുന്നവര് നിന്റെ വിശ്വസ്തതയെ പ്രത്യാശിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

18. For hell prayseth not the, death doth not magnifie the. They that go downe into the graue, prayse not thy treuth:

19. ഞാന് ഇന്നു ചെയ്യുന്നതുപോലെ ജീവനുള്ളവന് , ജീവനുള്ളവന് മാത്രം നിന്നെ സ്തുതിക്കും; അപ്പന് മക്കളോടു നിന്റെ വിശ്വസ്തയെ അറിയിക്കും.

19. but the lyuynge, yee the lyuynge acknowlege the, like as I do this daye. The father telleth his children of thy faithfulnesse.

20. യഹോവ എന്നെ രക്ഷിപ്പാന് ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞങ്ങള് ജീവപര്യന്തം യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് തന്ത്രിനാദത്തോടെ എന്റെ ഗീതങ്ങളെ പാടും.

20. Delyuer vs (o LORDE) and we wil synge prayses in thy house, all the dayes of oure life.

21. എന്നാല് അവന്നു സൌഖ്യം വരേണ്ടതിന്നു അത്തിപ്പഴക്കട്ട കൊണ്ടുവന്നു പരുവിന്മേല് പുരട്ടുവാന് യെശയ്യാവു പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു.

21. And Esay sayde: take a playster offyges, and laye it vpon the sore, so shal it be whole.

22. ഞാന് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് കയറിച്ചെല്ലും എന്നതിന്നു അടയാളം എന്തു എന്നു ഹിസ്കീയാവു ചോദിച്ചിരുന്നു.

22. Then saide Ezechias: O what a greate thinge is this, that I shal go vp in to the house of the LORDE.
