1. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനീ യെഹൂദാരാജാവിന്റെ അരമനയില് ചെന്നു, അവിടെ ഈ വചനം പ്രസ്താവിക്ക

1. King Zedekiah of Judah sent to me Pashhur son of Malchiah and the priest Zephaniah son of Maaseiah with this request:

2. ദാവീദിന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തില് ഇരിക്കുന്ന യെഹൂദാരാജാവേ, നീയും നിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരും ഈ വാതിലുകളില്കൂടി കടക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ ജനവും യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേട്ടുകൊള്വിന് !

2. 'Please speak to the LORD for us, because King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylonia and his army are besieging the city. Maybe the LORD will perform one of his miracles for us and force Nebuchadnezzar to retreat.'

3. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനിങ്ങള് നീതിയും ന്യായവും നടത്തി, കവര്ച്ചയായി ഭവിച്ചവനെ പീഡകന്റെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു വിടുവിപ്പിന് ; പരദേശിയോടും അനാഥനോടും വിധവയോടും അന്യായവും ബലാല്ക്കാരവും ചെയ്യരുതു; ഈ സ്ഥലത്തു കുറ്റമില്ലാത്ത രക്തം ചൊരികയും അരുതു.

3. Then the LORD spoke to me, and I told those who had been sent to me

4. നിങ്ങള് ഈ വചനം അനുഷ്ഠിച്ചാല് ദാവീദിന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തില് ഇരിക്കുന്നവരും രഥങ്ങളിലും കുതിരപ്പുറത്തും കയറുന്നവരുമായ രാജാക്കന്മാരും അവരുടെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരും പ്രജകളും ഈ അരമനയുടെ വാതിലുകളില്കൂടി കടക്കും.

4. to tell Zedekiah that the LORD, the God of Israel, had said, 'Zedekiah, I am going to defeat your army that is fighting against the king of Babylonia and his army. I will pile up your soldiers' weapons in the center of the city.

5. ഈ വചനം കേട്ടനുസരിക്കയില്ലെങ്കിലോ, ഈ അരമന ശൂന്യമായ്പോകുമെന്നു ഞാന് എന്നെച്ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

5. I will fight against you with all my might, my anger, my wrath, and my fury.

6. യെഹൂദാരാജാവിന്റെ അരമനയോടു യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനീ ഗിലെയാദും ലെബാനോന്റെ ശിഖരവും ആകുന്നു; എങ്കിലും ഞാന് നിന്നെ ഒരു മരുഭൂമിയും നിവാസികളില്ലാത്ത പട്ടണങ്ങളും ആക്കും.

6. I will kill everyone living in this city; people and animals alike will die of a terrible disease.

7. ഞാന് ആയുധപാണികളായ സംഹാരകന്മാരെ നിന്റെ നേരെ സംഭരിക്കും; അവര് നിന്റെ വിശിഷ്ടദേവദാരുക്കളെ വെട്ടി തീയില് ഇട്ടുകളയും.

7. But as for you, your officials, and the people who survive the war, the famine, and the disease---I will let all of you be captured by King Nebuchadnezzar and by your enemies, who want to kill you. Nebuchadnezzar will put you to death. He will not spare any of you or show mercy or pity to any of you. I, the LORD, have spoken.'

8. അനേകം ജാതികളും ഈ നഗരംവഴി കടന്നു പോകുമ്പോള്, ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരനോടുഈ മഹാനഗരത്തോടു യഹോവ ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തതെന്തു എന്നു ചോദിക്കയും

8. Then the LORD told me to say to the people, 'Listen! I, the LORD, am giving you a choice between the way that leads to life and the way that leads to death.

9. അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നിയമം ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു അന്യദേവന്മാരെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു സേവിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടുതന്നേ എന്നുത്തരം പറകയും ചെയ്യും.

9. Anyone who stays in the city will be killed in war or by starvation or disease. But those who go out and surrender to the Babylonians, who are now attacking the city, will not be killed; they will at least escape with their life.

10. മരിച്ചവനെക്കുറിച്ചു കരയേണ്ടാ, അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു വിലപിക്കയും വേണ്ടാ; നാടുവിട്ടു പോകേണ്ടിവരുന്നവനെക്കുറിച്ചു തന്നേ കരവിന് ; അവന് മടങ്ങിവരികയില്ല; ജന്മദേശം ഇനി കാണുകയുമില്ല.

10. I have made up my mind not to spare this city, but to destroy it. It will be given over to the king of Babylonia, and he will burn it to the ground. I, the LORD, have spoken.'

11. തന്റെ അപ്പനായ യോശീയാവിന്നു പകരം വാണിട്ടു ഈ സ്ഥലം വിട്ടുപോയവനായി യോശീയാവിന്റെ മകനും യെഹൂദാരാജാവുമായ ശല്ലൂമിനെക്കുറിച്ചു യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഅവന് ഇവിടേക്കു മടങ്ങിവരികയില്ല.

11. The LORD told me to give this message to the royal house of Judah, the descendants of David: 'Listen to what I, the LORD, am saying. See that justice is done every day. Protect the person who is being cheated from the one who is cheating him. If you don't, the evil you are doing will make my anger burn like a fire that cannot be put out.

12. അവനെ ബദ്ധനാക്കി കൊണ്ടുചെന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു വെച്ചു തന്നേ അവന് മരിക്കും; ഈ ദേശം അവന് ഇനി കാണുകയുമില്ല.

13. നീതികേടുകൊണ്ടു അരമനയും അന്യായം കൊണ്ടു മാളികയും പണിതു, കൂട്ടുകാരനെക്കൊണ്ടു വേല ചെയ്യിച്ചു കൂലി കൊടുക്കാതിരിക്കയും

13. You, Jerusalem, are sitting high above the valleys, like a rock rising above the plain. But I will fight against you. You say that no one can attack you or break through your defenses.

14. ഞാന് വിസ്താരമുള്ള അരമനയും വിശാലമായ മാളികയും പണിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു കിളിവാതിലുകളെ വീതിയില് തീര്ക്കയും ദേവദാരുകൊണ്ടു തട്ടിടുകയും ചായില്യംകൊണ്ടു ചായം ഇടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന്നു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

14. But I will punish you for what you have done. I will set your palace on fire, and the fire will burn down everything around it. I, the LORD, have spoken.'
