1. യിരെമ്യാവു സകലജനത്തോടും അവരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവനെ അവരുടെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചു പറയിച്ച ഈ സകല വചനങ്ങളും, അവരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ സകലവചനങ്ങളും തന്നേ, പറഞ്ഞു തീര്ന്നശേഷം

1. Then all the princes of the armies, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least even unto the greatest, came near,

2. ഹോശയ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ അസര്യ്യാവും കാരേഹിന്റെ മകനായ യോഹാനാനും അഹങ്കാരികളായ പുരുഷന്മാരൊക്കെയും യിരെമ്യാവോടുനീ ഭോഷകു പറയുന്നു; മിസ്രയീമില് ചെന്നു പാര്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവിടെ പോകരുതെന്നു പറവാന് ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നെ അയച്ചിട്ടില്ല.

2. and said unto Jeremiah the prophet, Let, we beseech thee, our supplication be accepted before thee, and pray for us unto the LORD thy God, [even] for all this remnant (for we are left [but] a few of many, as thine eyes do behold us)

3. കല്ദയര് ഞങ്ങളെ കൊന്നുകളയേണ്ടതിന്നും ഞങ്ങളെ ബദ്ധരാക്കി ബാബേലിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകേണ്ടതിന്നും ഞങ്ങളെ അവരുടെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിപ്പാന് നേര്യ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ ബാരൂക് നിന്നെ ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു വിരോധമായി ഉത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

3. that the LORD thy God may show us [the] way in which we walk, and that which we should do.

4. അങ്ങനെ കാരേഹിന്റെ മകനായ യോഹാനാനും എല്ലാ പടത്തലവന്മാരും സകലജനവും യെഹൂദാദേശത്തു പാര്ക്കേണം എന്നുള്ള യഹോവയുടെ വാക്കു അനുസരിച്ചില്ല.

4. Then Jeremiah the prophet said unto them, I have heard [you]; behold, I will pray unto the LORD your God according to your words; and it shall come to pass, [that] whatever thing the LORD shall answer you, I will declare [it] unto you; I will keep nothing back from you.

5. സകലജാതികളുടെയും ഇടയില് ചിതറിപ്പോയിട്ടു യെഹൂദാദേശത്തു പാര്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു മടങ്ങിവന്ന യെഹൂദാശിഷ്ടത്തെ ഒക്കെയും

5. Then they said to Jeremiah, The LORD be a true and faithful witness between us, if we do not even according to all things for the which the LORD thy God shall send thee to us.

6. പുരുഷന്മാരെയും സ്ത്രീകളെയും പൈതങ്ങളെയും രാജകുമാരികളെയും അകമ്പടിനായകനായ നെബൂസര്-അദാന് ശാഫാന്റെ മകനായ അഹീക്കാമിന്റെ മകനായ ഗെദല്യാവെ ഏല്പിച്ചിരുന്ന എല്ലാവരെയും യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകനെയും നേര്യ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ ബാരൂക്കിനെയും കാരേഹിന്റെ മകനായ യോഹാനാനും എല്ലാ പടത്തലവന്മാരും കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു,

6. Whether [it be] good, or whether [it be] evil, we will hear the voice of the LORD our God, to whom we send thee; that, obeying the voice of the LORD our God, it may be well with us.

7. യഹോവയുടെ വാക്കു അനുസരിക്കാതെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു ചെന്നു തഹ'നേസ്വരെ എത്തി.

7. And it came to pass after ten days, that the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah.

8. തഹ'നേസില്വെച്ചു യിരെമ്യാവിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്

8. Then he called Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the princes of the armies which [were] with him, and all the people from the least even to the greatest,

9. നീ വലിയ കല്ലുകളെ എടുത്തു യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാര് കാണ്കെ തഹ'നേസില് ഫറവോന്റെ അരമനയുടെ പടിക്കലുള്ള കളത്തിലെ കളിമണ്ണില് കുഴിച്ചിട്ടു അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടതു

9. and said unto them, Thus hath the LORD, the God of Israel said, unto whom ye sent me to present your supplication before him,

10. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഞാന് എന്റെ ദാസനായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസര് എന്ന ബാബേല്രാജാവിനെ വരുത്തി ഞാന് കുഴിച്ചിട്ട ഈ കല്ലുകളിന്മേല് അവന്റെ സിംഹാസനം വേക്കും; അവന് അവയുടെമേല് തന്റെ മണിപ്പന്തല് നിര്ത്തും.

10. If ye will still abide in this land, then I will build you, and not pull [you] down, and I will plant you, and not pluck [you] up; for I repent of the evil that I have done unto you.

11. അവന് അന്നു മിസ്രയീംദേശം ജയിച്ചടക്കി മരണത്തിന്നുള്ളവരെ മരണത്തിന്നും പ്രവാസത്തിന്നുള്ളവരെ പ്രവാസത്തിന്നും വാളിന്നുള്ളവരെ വാളിന്നും ഏല്പിക്കും.

11. Do not be afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom ye are afraid; do not be afraid of him, said the LORD: for I [am] with you to save you and to deliver you from his hand.

12. ഞാന് മിസ്രയീമിലെ ദേവന്മാരുടെ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങള്ക്കു തീ വേക്കും; അവയെ ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന് അവരെ പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകും; ഒരിടയന് തന്റെ പുതെപ്പു പുതെക്കുന്നതു പോലെ അവന് മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തെ പുതെക്കയും അവിടെനിന്നു സമാധാനത്തോടെ പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോകയും ചെയ്യും.

12. And I will show mercies unto you, that he may have mercy upon you and cause you to dwell in your [own] land.

13. അവന് മിസ്രയീം ദേശത്തു ബേത്ത്-ശേമെശിലെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ തകര്ത്തു മിസ്രയീമ്യദേവന്മാരുടെ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളെ തീവെച്ചു ചുട്ടുകളയും.

13. But if ye say, We will not dwell in this land, not listening to the voice of the LORD your God,
