1. യിരെമ്യാവു സകലജനത്തോടും അവരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവനെ അവരുടെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചു പറയിച്ച ഈ സകല വചനങ്ങളും, അവരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ സകലവചനങ്ങളും തന്നേ, പറഞ്ഞു തീര്ന്നശേഷം

1. Then all of the army officers approached me. They included Johanan, the son of Kareah, and Jezaniah, the son of Hoshaiah. All of the people from the least important of them to the most important also came.

2. ഹോശയ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ അസര്യ്യാവും കാരേഹിന്റെ മകനായ യോഹാനാനും അഹങ്കാരികളായ പുരുഷന്മാരൊക്കെയും യിരെമ്യാവോടുനീ ഭോഷകു പറയുന്നു; മിസ്രയീമില് ചെന്നു പാര്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവിടെ പോകരുതെന്നു പറവാന് ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നെ അയച്ചിട്ടില്ല.

2. All of them said to me, 'Please listen to our appeal. Pray to the Lord your God. Pray for all of us who are left here. Once there were many of us. But as you can see, only a few of us are left now.

3. കല്ദയര് ഞങ്ങളെ കൊന്നുകളയേണ്ടതിന്നും ഞങ്ങളെ ബദ്ധരാക്കി ബാബേലിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകേണ്ടതിന്നും ഞങ്ങളെ അവരുടെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിപ്പാന് നേര്യ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ ബാരൂക് നിന്നെ ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു വിരോധമായി ഉത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

3. So pray to the Lord your God. Pray that he'll tell us where we should go. Pray that he'll tell us what we should do.'

4. അങ്ങനെ കാരേഹിന്റെ മകനായ യോഹാനാനും എല്ലാ പടത്തലവന്മാരും സകലജനവും യെഹൂദാദേശത്തു പാര്ക്കേണം എന്നുള്ള യഹോവയുടെ വാക്കു അനുസരിച്ചില്ല.

4. I've heard you,' I replied. 'I'll certainly pray to the Lord your God. I'll do what you have asked me to do. In fact, I'll tell you everything the Lord says. I won't keep anything back from you.'

5. സകലജാതികളുടെയും ഇടയില് ചിതറിപ്പോയിട്ടു യെഹൂദാദേശത്തു പാര്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു മടങ്ങിവന്ന യെഹൂദാശിഷ്ടത്തെ ഒക്കെയും

5. Then they said to me, 'We'll do everything the Lord your God sends you to tell us to do. If we don't, may he be a true and faithful witness against us.

6. പുരുഷന്മാരെയും സ്ത്രീകളെയും പൈതങ്ങളെയും രാജകുമാരികളെയും അകമ്പടിനായകനായ നെബൂസര്-അദാന് ശാഫാന്റെ മകനായ അഹീക്കാമിന്റെ മകനായ ഗെദല്യാവെ ഏല്പിച്ചിരുന്ന എല്ലാവരെയും യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകനെയും നേര്യ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ ബാരൂക്കിനെയും കാരേഹിന്റെ മകനായ യോഹാനാനും എല്ലാ പടത്തലവന്മാരും കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു,

6. It doesn't matter whether what you say is in our favor or not. We're asking you to pray to the Lord our God. And we'll obey him. Things will go well with us. That's because we will obey the Lord our God.'

7. യഹോവയുടെ വാക്കു അനുസരിക്കാതെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു ചെന്നു തഹ'നേസ്വരെ എത്തി.

7. Ten days later a message came to me from the Lord.

8. തഹ'നേസില്വെച്ചു യിരെമ്യാവിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്

8. So I sent for Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all of the other army officers who were with him. I also gathered together all of the people from the least important of them to the most important.

9. നീ വലിയ കല്ലുകളെ എടുത്തു യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാര് കാണ്കെ തഹ'നേസില് ഫറവോന്റെ അരമനയുടെ പടിക്കലുള്ള കളത്തിലെ കളിമണ്ണില് കുഴിച്ചിട്ടു അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടതു

9. I said to all of them, 'The Lord is the God of Israel. You asked me to present your appeal to him.

10. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഞാന് എന്റെ ദാസനായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസര് എന്ന ബാബേല്രാജാവിനെ വരുത്തി ഞാന് കുഴിച്ചിട്ട ഈ കല്ലുകളിന്മേല് അവന്റെ സിംഹാസനം വേക്കും; അവന് അവയുടെമേല് തന്റെ മണിപ്പന്തല് നിര്ത്തും.

10. He told me, 'Stay in this land. Then I will build you up. I will not tear you down. I will plant you. I will not pull you up by the roots. I am very sad that I had to bring all of this trouble on you.

11. അവന് അന്നു മിസ്രയീംദേശം ജയിച്ചടക്കി മരണത്തിന്നുള്ളവരെ മരണത്തിന്നും പ്രവാസത്തിന്നുള്ളവരെ പ്രവാസത്തിന്നും വാളിന്നുള്ളവരെ വാളിന്നും ഏല്പിക്കും.

11. ' 'Do not be afraid of the king of Babylonia. You are afraid of him now. Do not be,' announces the Lord. 'I am with you. I will keep you safe. I will save you from his powerful hands.

12. ഞാന് മിസ്രയീമിലെ ദേവന്മാരുടെ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങള്ക്കു തീ വേക്കും; അവയെ ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന് അവരെ പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകും; ഒരിടയന് തന്റെ പുതെപ്പു പുതെക്കുന്നതു പോലെ അവന് മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തെ പുതെക്കയും അവിടെനിന്നു സമാധാനത്തോടെ പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോകയും ചെയ്യും.

12. I will show you my loving concern. Then he will have concern for you. And he will let you return to your land.'

13. അവന് മിസ്രയീം ദേശത്തു ബേത്ത്-ശേമെശിലെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ തകര്ത്തു മിസ്രയീമ്യദേവന്മാരുടെ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളെ തീവെച്ചു ചുട്ടുകളയും.

13. 'But suppose you say, 'We won't stay in this land.' If you do, you will be disobeying the Lord your God.
