1. In the first year of Belteshazzar, king of the Chaldeans Daniel had a dream, and visions of his head upon his bed: and he wrote his dream.

2. I, Daniel, beheld, and lo, the four winds of heaven blew violently upon the great sea.

3. And four great beasts came up out of the sea, each differing from one another.

4. The first [was] as a lioness, and her wings as an eagle's; I beheld until her wings were plucked, and she was lifted off from the earth, and she stood on human feet, and a man's heart was given to her.

5. And behold, the second beast was like a bear, and it supported itself on one side, and there were three ribs in its mouth, between its teeth. And thus they said to it, Arise, devour much flesh.

6. After this one I looked, and behold, another wild beast as a leopard, and it had four wings of a bird upon it. And the wild beast had four heads, and power was given to it.

7. After this one I looked, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and exceedingly strong, and its teeth were of iron; devouring and crushing to atoms, and it trampled the remainder with its feet. And it was altogether different from the beasts that were before it; and it [had] ten horns.

8. ഞാന് ആ കൊമ്പുകളെ നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള്, അവയുടെ ഇടയില് മറ്റൊരു ചെറിയ കൊമ്പു മുളെച്ചുവന്നു; അതിനാല് മുമ്പിലത്തെ കൊമ്പുകളില് മൂന്നു വേരോടെ പറിഞ്ഞുപോയി; ഈ കൊമ്പില് മനുഷ്യന്റെ കണ്ണുപോലെ കണ്ണും വമ്പു പറയുന്ന വായും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

8. I noticed his horns, and behold, another one came up in the midst of them, a little horn, and before it three of the former horns were rooted out. And behold, [there were] eyes as the eyes of a man in this horn, and a mouth speaking great things.

9. I beheld until the thrones were set, and the Ancient of Days sat; and His garment was white as snow, and the hair of His head as pure wool; His throne was a flame of fire, [and] His wheels burning fire.

10. A stream of fire rushed forth before Him. Thousands [upon] thousands ministered to Him, and ten thousand times ten thousand attended to Him. The court was seated, and the books were opened.

11. I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which that horn spoke, until the wild beast was slain and destroyed, and his body given to be burned with fire.

12. ശേഷം മൃഗങ്ങളോ--അവയുടെ ആധിപത്യത്തിന്നു നീക്കം ഭവിച്ചു; എന്നിട്ടും അവയുടെ ആയുസ്സു ഒരു സമയത്തേക്കും കാലത്തേക്കും നീണ്ടുനിന്നു.

12. And the dominion of the rest of the wild beasts was taken away; but a prolonging of life was given to them for an appointed time.

13. രാത്രിദര്ശനങ്ങളില് മനുഷ്യപുത്രനോടു സദൃശനായ ഒരുത്തന് ആകാശമേഘങ്ങളോടെ വരുന്നതു കണ്ടു; അവന് വയോധികന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു; അവര് അവനെ അവന്റെ മുമ്പില് അടുത്തുവരുമാറാക്കി.

13. I beheld in the night vision, and behold, [One] like the Son of Man coming with the clouds of heaven, and He came to the Ancient of Days, and was brought near to Him.

14. സകലവംശങ്ങളും ജാതികളും ഭാഷക്കാരും അവനെ സേവിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന്നു ആധിപത്യവും മഹത്വവും രാജത്വവും ലഭിച്ചു; അവന്റെ ആധിപത്യം നീങ്ങിപ്പോകാത്ത നിത്യാധിപത്യവും അവന്റെ രാജത്വം നശിച്ചുപോകാത്തതും ആകുന്നു.

14. And to Him was given the dominion, and the honor, and the kingdom; and all nations, tribes, and languages, shall serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and His kingdom shall not be destroyed.

15. ദാനീയേല് എന്ന ഞാനോ എന്റെ ഉള്ളില് എന്റെ മനസ്സു വ്യസനിച്ചുഎനിക്കു ഉണ്ടായ ദര്ശനങ്ങളാല് ഞാന് പരവശനായി.

15. [As for] me, Daniel, my spirit in my body trembled, and the visions of my head troubled me.

16. ഞാന് അരികെ നിലക്കുന്നവരില് ഒരുത്തന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു അവനോടു ഈ എല്ലാറ്റിന്റെയും സാരം ചോദിച്ചു; അവന് കാര്യങ്ങളുടെ അര്ത്ഥം പറഞ്ഞുതന്നു.

16. And I drew near to one of them that stood by, and I sought to learn from him the truth of all these things. And he told me the truth, and made known to me the interpretation of the things.

17. ആ നാലു മഹാമൃഗങ്ങള് ഭൂമിയില് ഉണ്ടാകുവാനിരിക്കുന്ന നാലു രാജാക്കന്മാരാകുന്നു.

17. These four beasts are four kingdoms [that] shall rise up on the earth,

18. എന്നാല് അത്യുന്നതനായവന്റെ വിശുദ്ധന്മാര് രാജത്വം പ്രാപിച്ചു എന്നേക്കും സദാകാലത്തേക്കും രാജത്വം അനുഭവിക്കും.

18. which shall be taken away; and the saints of the Most High shall take the kingdom, and possess it forever and ever.

19. എന്നാല് മറ്റെ സകലമൃഗങ്ങളിലും വെച്ചു വ്യത്യാസമുള്ളതും ഇരിമ്പുപല്ലും താമ്രനഖങ്ങളും ഉള്ളതായി അതിഭയങ്കരമായതും തിന്നുകയും തകര്ക്കയും ശേഷിച്ചതിനെ കാല്കൊണ്ടു ചവിട്ടിക്കളകയും ചെയ്തതുമായ നാലാമത്തെ മൃഗത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും

19. Then I inquired carefully concerning the fourth beast; for it was different from the other beasts, exceeding dreadful. Its teeth were of iron, and its claws of brass, devouring, and utterly breaking to pieces, and it trampled the remainder with its feet.

20. അതിന്റെ തലയിലുള്ള പത്തു കൊമ്പുകളെക്കുറിച്ചു മുളെച്ചുവന്നതും മൂന്നു കൊമ്പു വീഴിച്ചതും കണ്ണും വമ്പു പറയുന്ന വായും ഉള്ളതും കൂട്ടുകൊമ്പുകളെക്കാള് കാഴ്ചെക്കു വണ്ണമേറിയതുമായ മറ്റെ കൊമ്പിനെക്കുറിച്ചും ഉള്ള വിവരം അറിവാന് ഞാന് ഇച്ഛിച്ചു.

20. And concerning its ten horns that were on its head, and the other that came up, and rooted up [some] of the former [ones], which had eyes, and a mouth speaking great things, and his appearance was greater than the others.

21. I beheld, and that horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;

22. ആ കൊമ്പു വിശുദ്ധന്മാരോടു യുദ്ധം ചെയ്തു അവരെ ജയിക്കുന്നതു ഞാന് കണ്ടു.

22. until the Ancient of Days came, and He gave judgment to the saints of the Most High; and the time was fulfilled, and the saints possessed the kingdom.

23. അവന് പറഞ്ഞതോനാലാമത്തെ മൃഗം ഭൂമിയില് നാലാമതായി ഉത്ഭവിപ്പാനുള്ള രാജ്യം തന്നേ; അതു സകലരാജ്യങ്ങളിലുംവെച്ചു വ്യത്യാസമുള്ളതായി സര്വ്വഭൂമിയെയും തിന്നു ചവിട്ടിത്തകര്ത്തുകളയും.

23. And he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom on the earth, which shall excel [beyond] all [other] kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and trample and destroy it.

24. ഈ രാജ്യത്തുനിന്നുള്ള പത്തു കൊമ്പുകളോ എഴുന്നേല്പാനിരിക്കുന്ന പത്തു രാജാക്കന്മാരാകുന്നു; അവരുടെ ശേഷം മറ്റൊരുത്തന് എഴുന്നേലക്കും; അവന് മുമ്പിലത്തവരോടു വ്യത്യാസമുള്ളവനായി മൂന്നു രാജാക്കന്മാരെ വീഴിച്ചുകളയും.

24. And his ten horns are ten kings [that] shall arise: and after them shall arise another, who shall exceed all the former ones in wickedness and he shall subdue three kings.

25. അവന് അത്യുന്നതനായവന്നു വിരോധമായി വമ്പു പറകയും അത്യുന്നതനായവന്റെ വിശുദ്ധന്മാരെ ഒടുക്കിക്കളകയും സമയങ്ങളെയും നിയമങ്ങളെയും മാറ്റുവാന് ശ്രമിക്കയും ചെയ്യും; കാലവും കാലങ്ങളും കാലാംശവും അവര് അവന്റെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കും.

25. And he shall speak words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and shall think to change times and law. And [power] shall be given into his hand for a time, times and half a time.

26. എന്നാല് ന്യായവിസ്താരസഭ ഇരുന്നുകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ ആധിപത്യം എടുത്തുകളഞ്ഞു അന്തംവരെ നശിപ്പിച്ചു മുടിക്കും.

26. But the court shall be seated, and they shall remove [his] dominion to abolish it, and to destroy it utterly.

27. പിന്നെ രാജത്വവും ആധിപത്യവും ആകാശത്തിന് കീഴെല്ലാടവുമുള്ള രാജ്യങ്ങളുടെ മഹത്വവും അത്യുന്നതന്റെ വിശുദ്ധന്മാരായ ജനത്തിന്നു ലഭിക്കും; അവന്റെ രാജത്വം നിത്യരാജത്വം ആകുന്നു; സകല ആധിപത്യങ്ങളും അവനെ സേവിച്ചനുസരിക്കും.

27. And the kingdom and the power and the greatness of the kings that are under the whole heaven were given to the saints of the Most High; and His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all powers shall serve and obey Him.

28. ഇങ്ങനെയാകുന്നു കാര്യത്തിന്റെ സമാപ്തി; ദാനീയേല് എന്ന ഞാനോ എന്റെ വിചാരങ്ങളാല് അത്യന്തം പരവശനായി എന്റെ മുഖഭാവവും മാറി; എങ്കിലും ഞാന് ആ കാര്യം എന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില് സംഗ്രഹിച്ചുവെച്ചു.

28. This is the end of the matter. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts greatly troubled me, and my countenance was changed: but I kept the matter in my heart.
