1. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളേ, നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചും ഞാന് മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ച സര്വ്വവംശത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ വചനം കേള്പ്പിന് !

1. Hear this word, O house of Israel, which the Lord has spoken concerning you, and against the whole family whom I brought up out of the land of Egypt, saying,

2. ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലവംശങ്ങളിലുംവെച്ചു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ മാത്രം തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ അകൃത്യങ്ങളൊക്കെയും നിങ്ങളില് സന്ദര്ശിക്കും.

2. You especially have I known out of all the families of the earth: therefore will I take vengeance upon you for all your sins.

3. രണ്ടുപേര് തമ്മില് ഒത്തിട്ടല്ലാതെ ഒരുമിച്ചു നടക്കുമോ? ഇരയില്ലാതിരിക്കുമ്പോള് സിംഹം കാട്ടില് അലറുമോ?

3. Shall two walk together at all, if they do not know one another?

4. ഒന്നിനെയും പിടിച്ചിട്ടല്ലാതെ ബാലസിംഹം ഗുഹയില്നിന്നു ഒച്ച പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുമോ?

4. Will a lion roar out of his thicket if he has no prey? Will a young [lion] utter his voice at all out of his lair, if he has taken nothing?

5. കുടുക്കില്ലാതിരിക്കെ പക്ഷി നിലത്തെ കണിയില് അകപ്പെടുമോ? ഒന്നും പിടിപെടാതെ കണി നിലത്തുനിന്നു പൊങ്ങുമോ?

5. Will a bird fall on the earth without a fowler? Will a snare be taken up from the earth without having taken anything?

6. നഗരത്തില് കാഹളം ഊതുമ്പോള് ജനം പേടിക്കാതിരിക്കുമോ? യഹോവ വരുത്തീട്ടല്ലാതെ നഗരത്തില് അനര്ത്ഥം ഭവിക്കുമോ?

6. Shall the trumpet sound in the city, and the people not be alarmed? Shall there be evil in a city which the Lord has not wrought?

7. യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു പ്രവാചകന്മാരായ തന്റെ ദാസന്മാര്ക്കും തന്റെ രഹസ്യം വെളിപ്പെടുത്താതെ ഒരു കാര്യവും ചെയ്കയില്ല.

7. For the Lord God will do nothing without revealing instruction to His servants the prophets.

8. സിംഹം ഗര്ജ്ജിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ആര് ഭയപ്പെടാതിരിക്കും? യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; ആര് പ്രവചിക്കാതിരിക്കും?

8. A lion shall roar, and who will not be alarmed? The Lord God has spoken, and who will not prophesy?

9. ശമര്യ്യാപര്വ്വതങ്ങളില് വന്നുകൂടി അതിന്റെ നടുവിലുള്ള മഹാ കലഹങ്ങളെയും അതിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേയുള്ള പീഡനങ്ങളെയും നോക്കുവിന് എന്നു അസ്തോദിലെ അരമനകളിന്മേലും മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തിലെ അരമനകളിന്മേലും ഘോഷിച്ചുപറവിന് !

9. Proclaim it to the regions among the Assyrians, and to the regions of Egypt, and say, Gather yourselves to the mountain of Samaria, and behold many wonderful things in the midst of it, and the oppression that is in it.

10. തങ്ങളുടെ അരമനകളില് അന്യായവും സാഹസവും സംഗ്രഹിച്ചുവെക്കുന്നവര് ന്യായം പ്രവര്ത്തിപ്പാന് അറിയുന്നില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

10. And she knew not what things would come against her, says the Lord, even those that store up wrong and misery in their countries.

11. അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുദേശത്തിന്നു ചുറ്റും ഒരു വൈരി ഉണ്ടാകും; അവന് നിന്റെ ഉറപ്പു നിങ്കല്നിന്നു താഴ്ത്തിക്കളയും; നിന്റെ അരമനകള് കൊള്ളയായ്യ്തീരും.

11. Therefore thus says the Lord God; O Tyre, your land shall be made desolate round about [you]; and he shall bring down your strength out of you, and your countries shall be spoiled.

12. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഒരു ഇടയന് രണ്ടു കാലോ ഒരു കാതോ സിംഹത്തിന്റെ വായില്നിന്നു വലിച്ചെടുക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ശമര്യ്യയില് കിടക്കയുടെ കോണിലും പട്ടുമെത്തമേലും ഇരിക്കുന്ന യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് വിടുവിക്കപ്പെടും.

12. Thus says the Lord; As when a shepherd rescues from the mouth of a lion two legs or a piece of an ear, so shall be drawn forth the children of Israel who dwell in Samaria in the presence of [a foreign] tribe, and in Damascus.

13. നിങ്ങള് കേട്ടു യാക്കോബ്ഗൃഹത്തോടു സാക്ഷീകരിപ്പിന് എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

13. Hear, O you priests, and testify to the house of Jacob, says the Lord God Almighty.

14. ഞാന് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ അതിക്രമങ്ങള്നിമിത്തം അവനെ സന്ദര്ശിക്കുന്ന നാളില് ബലിപീഠത്തിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകള് മുറിഞ്ഞു നിലത്തു വീഴുവാന്തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാന് ബേഥേലിലെ ബലിപീഠങ്ങളെയും സന്ദര്ശിക്കും. ഞാന് ഹേമന്തഗൃഹവും ഗ്രീഷ്മഗൃഹവും ഒരുപോലെ തകര്ത്തുകളയും; ദന്തഭവനങ്ങള് നശിച്ചുപോകും; പലവീടുകളും മുടിഞ്ഞുപോകും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

14. For in the day wherein I shall take vengeance of the sins of Israel upon him, I will also take vengeance on the altars of Bethel, and the horns of the altar shall be broken down, and they shall fall upon the ground.
