1. യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു രണ്ടാം പ്രാവശ്യം യോനെക്കു ഉണ്ടായതു എന്തെന്നാല്

1. And the worde of the Lord came vnto Ionah the seconde time, saying,

2. നീ പുറപ്പെട്ടു മഹാനഗരമായ നീനെവേയിലേക്കു ചെന്നു ഞാന് നിന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രസംഗം അതിനോടു പ്രസംഗിക്ക.

2. Arise, goe vnto Nineueh that great citie, and preach vnto it the preaching, which I bid thee.

3. അങ്ങനെ യോനാ പുറപ്പെട്ടു, യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനപ്രകാരം നീനെവേയിലേക്കു ചെന്നു. എന്നാല് നീനെവേ മൂന്നു ദിവസത്തെ വഴിയുള്ള അതിമഹത്തായോരു നഗരമായിരുന്നു.

3. So Ionah arose and went to Nineueh according to ye word of the Lord: now Nineueh was a great and excellent citie of three dayes iourney.

4. യോനാ നഗരത്തില് കടന്നു ആദ്യം ഒരു ദിവസത്തെ വഴിചെന്നുഇനി നാല്പതു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞാല് നീനെവേ ഉന്മൂലമാകും എന്നു ഘോഷിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു.

4. And Ionah began to enter into the citie a dayes iourney, and he cryed, and said, Yet fourtie dayes, and Nineueh shalbe ouerthrowen.

5. എന്നാല് നീനെവേക്കാര് ദൈവത്തില് വിശ്വസിച്ചു ഒരു ഉപവാസം പരസ്യം ചെയ്തു വലിയവരും ചെറിയവരും ഒരുപോലെ രട്ടുടുത്തു.

5. So the people of Nineueh beleeued God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth from ye greatest of the euen to the least of them.

6. വര്ത്തമാനം നീനെവേരാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് എത്തിയാറെ അവന് സിംഹാസനത്തില്നിന്നു എഴുന്നേറ്റു രാജവസ്ത്രം നീക്കിവെച്ചു രട്ടു പുതെച്ചു വെണ്ണീറില് ഇരുന്നു.

6. For worde came vnto the King of Nineueh, and he rose from his throne, and he layed his robe from him, and couered him with sackecloth, and sate in ashes.

7. അവന് നീനെവേയില് എങ്ങും ഘോഷിപ്പിച്ചു പരസ്യമാക്കിയതു എന്തെന്നാല്രാജാവിന്റെയും അവന്റെ മഹത്തുക്കളുടെയും ആജ്ഞയാവിതുമനുഷ്യനോ മൃഗമോ കന്നുകാലിയോ ആടോ ഒന്നും ഒരു വസ്തുവും ആസ്വദിക്കരുതു; മേയ്കയും വെള്ളം കുടിക്കയും അരുതു.

7. And he proclaimed and said through Nineueh, (by the counsell of ye king and his nobles) saying, Let neither man, nor beast, bullock nor sheep taste any thing, neither feed nor drinke water.

8. മനുഷ്യനും മൃഗവും രട്ടു പുതെച്ചു ഉച്ചത്തില് ദൈവത്തോടു വിളിച്ചു അപേക്ഷിക്കേണം; ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ ദുര്മ്മാര്ഗ്ഗവും താന്താന്റെ കൈക്കലുള്ള സാഹസവും വിട്ടു മനംതിരികയും വേണം.

8. But let man and beast put on sackecloth, and crie mightily vnto God: yea, let euery man turne from his euill way, and from the wickednesse that is in their handes.

9. ദൈവം വീണ്ടും അനുതപിച്ചു നാം നശിച്ചുപോകാതെയിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന്റെ ഉഗ്രകോപം വിട്ടുമാറുമായിരിക്കും; ആര്ക്കറിയാം.

9. Who can tell if God will turne, and repent and turne away from his fierce wrath, that we perish not?

10. അവര് ദുര്മ്മാര്ഗ്ഗം വിട്ടുതിരിഞ്ഞു എന്നു ദൈവം അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളാല് കണ്ടപ്പോള് താന് അവര്ക്കും വരുത്തും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരുന്ന അനര്ത്ഥത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ദൈവം അനുതപിച്ചു അതു വരുത്തിയതുമില്ല.

10. And God sawe their workes that they turned from their euill wayes: and God repented of the euill that he had said that he woulde doe vnto them, and he did it not.
