1. ഹബക്കൂക് പ്രവാചകന് ദര്ശിച്ച പ്രവാചകം.

1. The oracle which Habakkuk the prophet received in vision.

2. യഹോവേ, എത്രത്തോളം ഞാന് അയ്യം വിളിക്കയും നീ കേള്ക്കാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യും? സാഹസംനിമിത്തം ഞാന് എത്രത്തോളം നിന്നോടു നിലവിളിക്കയും നീ രക്ഷിക്കാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യും?

2. How long, O LORD? I cry for help but you do not listen! I cry out to you, 'Violence!' but you do not intervene.

3. നീ എന്നെ നീതികേടു കാണുമാറാക്കുന്നതും പീഡനം വെറുതെ നോക്കുന്നതും എന്തിനു? കവര്ച്ചയും സാഹസവും എന്റെ മുമ്പില് ഉണ്ടു; കലഹം നടക്കുന്നു; ശണ്ഠ ഉളവായി വരും.

3. Why do you let me see ruin; why must I look at misery? Destruction and violence are before me; there is strife, and clamorous discord.

4. അതുകൊണ്ടു ന്യായപ്രമാണം അയഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; ന്യായം ഒരുനാളും വെളിപ്പെട്ടുവരുന്നതുമില്ല; ദുഷ്ടന് നീതിമാനെ വളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ന്യായം വക്രതയായി വെളിപ്പെട്ടുവരുന്നു.

4. This is why the law is benumbed, and judgment is never rendered: Because the wicked circumvent the just; this is why judgment comes forth perverted.

5. Look over the nations and see, and be utterly amazed! For a work is being done in your days that you would not have believed, were it told.

6. For see, I am raising up Chaldea, that bitter and unruly people, That marches the breadth of the land to take dwellings not his own.

7. അവര് ഘോരവും ഭയങ്കരവുമായുള്ളവര്; അവരുടെ ന്യായവും ശ്രേഷ്ഠതയും അവരില്നിന്നു തന്നേ പുറപ്പെടുന്നു.

7. Terrible and dreadful is he, from himself derive his law and his majesty.

8. അവരുടെ കുതിരകള് പുള്ളിപ്പുലികളെക്കാള് വേഗതയും വൈകുന്നേരത്തെ ചെന്നായ്ക്കളെക്കാള് ഉഗ്രതയുമുള്ളവ; അവരുടെ കുതിരച്ചേവകര് ഗര്വ്വിച്ചോടിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ കുതിരച്ചേവകര് ദൂരത്തുനിന്നു വരുന്നു; തിന്നുവാന് ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്ന കഴുകനെപ്പോലെ അവര് പറന്നു വരുന്നു.

8. Swifter than leopards are his horses, and keener than wolves at evening. His horses prance, his horsemen come from afar: They fly like the eagle hastening to devour;

9. അവര് ഏവരും സംഹാരത്തിന്നായി വരുന്നു; അവരുടെ മുഖം മുമ്പോട്ടു ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നു; അവര് മണല്പോലെ ബദ്ധന്മാരെ പിടിച്ചുചേര്ക്കുംന്നു.

9. each comes for the rapine, Their combined onset is that of a stormwind that heaps up captives like sand.

10. അവര് രാജാക്കന്മാരെ പരിഹസിക്കുന്നു; പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് അവര്ക്കും ഹാസ്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു; അവര് ഏതു കോട്ടയെയും കുറിച്ചു ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവര് മണ്ണു കുന്നിച്ചു അതിനെ പിടിക്കും.

10. He scoffs at kings, and princes are his laughingstock; He laughs at any fortress, heaps up a ramp, and conquers it.

11. അന്നു അവന് കാറ്റുപോലെ അടിച്ചുകടന്നു അതിക്രമിച്ചു കുറ്റക്കാരനായ്തീരും; സ്വന്തശക്തിയല്ലോ അവന്നു ദൈവം.

11. Then he veers like the wind and is gone-- this culprit who makes his own strength his god!

12. എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, നീ പുരാതനമേ എന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധനല്ലയോ? ഞങ്ങള് മരിക്കയില്ല; യഹോവേ, നീ അവനെ ന്യായവിധിക്കായി നിയമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; പാറയായുള്ളോവേ, ശിക്ഷെക്കായി നീ അവനെ നിയോഗിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

12. Are you not from eternity, O LORD, my holy God, immortal? O LORD you have marked him for judgment, O Rock, you have readied him for punishment!

13. ദോഷം കണ്ടുകൂടാതവണ്ണം നിര്മ്മലദൃഷ്ടിയുള്ളവനും പീഡനം കാണ്മാന് കഴിയാത്തവനുമായുള്ളോവേ, ദ്രോഹം പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നവരെ നീ വെറുതെ നോക്കുന്നതും ദുഷ്ടന് തന്നിലും നീതിമാനായവനെ വിഴുങ്ങുമ്പോള്

13. Too pure are your eyes to look upon evil, and the sight of misery you cannot endure. Why, then, do you gaze on the faithless in silence while the wicked man devours one more just than himself?

14. നീ മിണ്ടാതിരിക്കുന്നതും മനുഷ്യരെ സമുദ്രത്തിലെ മത്സ്യങ്ങളെപ്പോലെയും അധിപതിയില്ലാത്ത ഇഴജാതികളെപ്പോലെയും ആക്കുന്നതും എന്തു?

14. You have made man like the fish of the sea, like creeping things without a ruler.

15. അവന് അവയെ ഒക്കെയും ചൂണ്ടല്കൊണ്ടു പിടിച്ചെടുക്കുന്നു; അവന് വലകൊണ്ടു അവയെ വലിച്ചെടുക്കുന്നു; കോരുവലയില് ചേര്ത്തുകൊള്ളുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു അവന് സന്തോഷിച്ചാനന്ദിക്കുന്നു.

15. He brings them all up with his hook, he hauls them away with his net, He gathers them in his seine; and so he rejoices and exults.

16. അതു ഹേതുവായി അവന് തന്റെ വലെക്കു ബലികഴിക്കുന്നു; കോരുവലെക്കു ധൂപം കാട്ടുന്നു; അവയാലല്ലോ അവന്റെ ഔഹരി പുഷ്ടിയുള്ളതും അവന്റെ ആഹാരം പൂര്ത്തിയുള്ളതുമായ്തീരുന്നതു.

16. Therefore he sacrifices to his net, and burns incense to his seine; For thanks to them his portion is generous, and his repast sumptuous.

17. അതുനിമിത്തം അവന് തന്റെ വല കുടഞ്ഞു, ജാതികളെ ആദരിക്കാതെ നിത്യം കൊല്ലുവാന് പോകുമോ?

17. Shall he, then, keep on brandishing his sword to slay peoples without mercy?
