1. ഏഴാം മാസം ഇരുപത്തൊന്നാം തിയ്യതി ഹഗ്ഗായിപ്രവാചകന് മുഖാന്തരം യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. (2:2) In the seuenth moneth in the twentie and one day of the moneth, came the worde of the Lord by the ministerie of the prophete Haggeus, saying:

2. നീ യെഹൂദാദേശാധിപതിയായി ശെയല്തീയേലിന്റെ മകനായ സെരുബ്ബാബേലിനോടും മഹാ പുരോഹിതനായി യെഹോസാദാക്കിന്റെ മകനായ യോശുവയോടും ജനത്തില് ശേഷിപ്പുള്ളവരോടും പറയേണ്ടതെന്തെന്നാല്

2. (2:3) Say nowe to Zorobabel the sonne of Salathiel prince of Iuda, and to Iosua the sonne of Iosedech the hie priest, and to rest of the people, saying:

3. നിങ്ങളില് ഈ ആലയത്തെ അതിന്റെ ആദ്യമഹത്വത്തോടെ കണ്ടവരായി ആര് ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു? ഇപ്പോള് കണ്ടിട്ടു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എന്തു തോന്നുന്നു? ഏതുമില്ലാത്തതുപോലെ തോന്നുന്നില്ലയോ?

3. (2:4) Who is among you left, whiche sawe this house in her first glorie, and howe do you see it now? Is it not in your eyes in comparison of it, as nothing?

4. ഇപ്പോഴോ സെരുബ്ബാബേലേ, ധൈര്യപ്പെടുക എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; മഹാപുരോഹിതനായി യഹോസാദാക്കിന്റെ മകനായ യോശുവേ, ധൈര്യപ്പെടുക; ദേശത്തിലെ സകലജനവുമായുള്ളോരേ, ധൈര്യപ്പെട്ടു വേല ചെയ്വിന് എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടല്ലോ എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

4. (2:5) Yet nowe be of good cheare O Zorobabel, sayth the Lord, and be of good comfort O Iosua thou hye priest sonne of Iosedech, and be strong all ye people of the lande, sayth the Lorde, and worke: for I am with you sayth the Lorde of hoastes,

5. നിങ്ങള് മിസ്രയീമില് നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടപ്പോള് ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന നിയമത്തിന്റെ വചനം ഔര്പ്പിന് ; എന്റെ ആത്മാവു നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് വസിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങള് ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ.

5. (2:6) According to the worde that I couenaunted with you, when ye came out of Egypt: and my spirite shall remayne with you, feare ye not.

6. സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഇനി കുറഞ്ഞോന്നു കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഞാന് ആകാശത്തെയും ഭൂമിയെയും കടലിനെയും കരയെയും ഇളക്കും.

6. (2:7) For thus sayth the Lorde of hoastes Yet a litle whyle, and I will shake the heauens, and the earth, and the sea, and the drie lande:

7. ഞാന് സകല ജാതികളെയും ഇളക്കും; സകല ജാതികളുടെയും മനോഹരവസ്തു വരികയും ചെയ്യും; ഞാന് ഈ ആലയത്തെ മഹത്വപൂര്ണ്ണമാക്കും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

7. (2:8) And I will moue all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come, and I will fill this house with glorie, sayth the Lorde of hoastes.

8. വെള്ളി എനിക്കുള്ളതു, പൊന്നും എനിക്കുള്ളതു എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

8. (2:9) The siluer is myne, and the golde is myne, sayth the Lorde of hoastes.

9. ഈ ആലയത്തിന്റെ പിന്നത്തെ മഹത്വം മുമ്പിലേത്തതിലും വലുതായിരിക്കും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; ഈ സ്ഥലത്തു ഞാന് സമാധാനം നലകും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

9. (2:10) The glorie of the seconde house, shalbe greater then the glorie of the first, sayth the Lorde of hoastes: and in this place will I geue peace, sayth the Lorde of hoastes.

10. ദാര്യ്യാവേശിന്റെ രണ്ടാം ആണ്ടു, ഒമ്പതാം മാസം, ഇരുപത്തുനാലാം തിയ്യതി ഹഗ്ഗായി പ്രവാചകന് മുഖാന്തരം യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്

10. (2:11) In the twentie and fourth day of the nynth moneth in the second yere of king Darius, came the word of the Lord vnto the prophete Haggeus, saying:

11. സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനിങ്ങള് പുരോഹിതന്മാരോടു ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ചോദിക്കേണ്ടതെന്തെന്നാല്

11. (2:12) Thus sayth the Lord God of hoastes, Aske nowe ye priestes [concernyng] the lawe, saying:

12. ഒരുത്തന് തന്റെ വസ്ത്രത്തിന്റെ കോന്തലെക്കല് വിശുദ്ധമാംസം വഹിച്ചു, ആ കോന്തലകൊണ്ടു അപ്പമോ പായസമോ വീഞ്ഞോ എണ്ണയോ ഏതെങ്കിലും ഒരു ഭക്ഷണസാധനമോ തൊട്ടാല് അതു വിശുദ്ധമാകുമോ? അതിന്നു പുരോഹിതന്മാര് ഇല്ല എന്നുത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

12. (2:13) If one beare holy fleshe in the skirt of his coate, & with his skirt do touche the bread, potage, wine, oyle, or any other meate, shall it be holy? And the priestes aunswered and sayde, No.

13. എന്നാല് ഹഗ്ഗായിശവത്താല് അശുദ്ധനായ ഒരുത്തന് അവയില് ഒന്നു തൊടുന്നുവെങ്കില് അതു അശുദ്ധമാകുമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഅതു അശുദ്ധമാകും എന്നു പുരോഹിതന്മാര് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

13. (2:14) And Haggeus sayd: If a polluted person touche any of these, shall he not be polluted? And the priestes aunswered, and saide, He shalbe polluted.

14. അതിന്നു ഹഗ്ഗായി ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ഈ ജനവും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ഈ ജാതിയും എന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് ആകുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു. അവരുടെ കൈകളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തിയൊക്കെയും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ; അവര് അവിടെ അര്പ്പിക്കുന്നതും അശുദ്ധം അത്രേ.

14. (2:15) Then Haggeus aunswered, and sayde: So is this people, and so is this nation before me sayth the Lord, and so is al the worke of their handes: & that which they offer there is vncleane.

15. ആകയാല് നിങ്ങള് ഇന്നു തൊട്ടു പിന്നോക്കം, യഹോവയുടെ മന്ദിരത്തിങ്കല് കല്ലിന്മേല് കല്ലു വെച്ചതിന്നു മുമ്പുള്ളകാലം വിചാരിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് .

15. (2:16) And nowe consider I pray you in your mindes from this day, and vpward, before there was layed one stone vpon an other in the house of the Lorde,

16. ആ കാലത്തു ഒരുത്തന് ഇരുപതു പറയുള്ള കൂമ്പാരത്തിലേക്കു ചെല്ലുമ്പോള് പത്തു മാത്രമേ കാണുകയുള്ളു; ഒരുത്തന് അമ്പതു പാത്രം കോരുവാന് ചക്കാലയില് ചെല്ലുമ്പോള് ഇരുപതു മാത്രമേ കാണുകയുള്ളു.

16. (2:17) Before these thinges [were done] when one came to a heape of twentie [measures] there were but ten: so who came to the wyne presse for to drawe out fiftie [vessels of wyne] out of the presse, there were but twentie.

17. വെണ്കതിരും വിഷമഞ്ഞും കല്മഴയുംകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ നിങ്ങളുടെ കൈകളുടെ സകല പ്രവൃത്തികളിലും ദണ്ഡിപ്പിച്ചു; എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങള് എങ്കലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

17. (2:18) I smote you with blasting, and with mildeawe, and with hayle, in all the worke of your handes, and you turned not vnto me, sayth the Lorde.

18. നിങ്ങള് ഇന്നുതൊട്ടു മുമ്പോട്ടു ദൃഷ്ടിവേക്കുവിന് ; ഒമ്പതാം മാസം, ഇരുപത്തു നാലാം തിയ്യതിമുതല്, യഹോവയുടെ മന്ദിരത്തിന്നു അടിസ്ഥാനം ഇട്ട ദിവസം തുടങ്ങിയുള്ള കാലത്തില് തന്നേ ദൃഷ്ടിവേക്കുവിന് .

18. (2:19) Consider nowe in your mindes from this day, and afore, from the foure and twentie day of the nynth [moneth,] vnto the day that the foundation of the lordes temple was layde, consider it in your mindes:

19. വിത്തു ഇനിയും കളപ്പുരയില് കിടക്കുന്നുവോ? മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയും അത്തിവൃക്ഷവും മാതളവും ഒലിവുമരവും കായക്കുന്നില്ലയോ? ഇന്നുമുതല് ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കും.

19. (2:20) Is the seede yet in the barne? as yet the vines, and the figge tree, and the pomegranate, & the oliue tree hath not brought foorth: from this day will I blesse [you.]

20. ഇരുപത്തു നാലാം തിയ്യതി യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു രണ്ടാം പ്രാവശ്യം ഹഗ്ഗായിക്കുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്

20. (2:21) And againe the worde of the Lorde came vnto Haggei in the foure & twentie [day] of the moneth, saying:

21. നീ യെഹൂദാദേശാധിപതിയായ സെരുബ്ബാബേലിനോടു പറയേണ്ടതുഞാന് ആകാശത്തെയും ഭൂമിയെയും ഇളക്കും.

21. (2:22) Speake to Zorobabel the prince of Iuda, and say, I will shake the heauens and the earth:

22. ഞാന് രാജ്യങ്ങളുടെ സിംഹാസനം മറിച്ചിടും; ജാതികളുടെ രാജ്യങ്ങളുടെ ബലം നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും; ഞാന് രഥത്തെയും അതില് കയറി ഔടിക്കുന്നവരെയും മറിച്ചുകളയും; കുതിരകളും പുറത്തു കയറി ഔടിക്കുന്നവരും ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ സഹോദരന്റെ വാളിനാല് വീഴും.

22. (2:23) And I will ouerthrow the throne of kingdomes, & I wil destroy the strength of the kingdomes of the heathen, and I will ouerthrowe the charettes and the sitters thereon, and the horse and the riders shall fall downe euery one by the sworde of his brother.

23. അന്നാളില്--സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു--എന്റെ ദാസനായി ശെയല്തീയേലിന്റെ മകനായ സെരുബ്ബാബേലേ, ഞാന് നിന്നെ എടുത്തു മുദ്രമോതിരമാക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; ഞാന് നിന്നെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

23. (2:24) In that day, saith the Lord of hoastes, will I take thee Zorobabel my seruaunt sonne of Salathiel, sayth the Lord, & will make thee as a signet: for I haue chosen thee, sayth the Lorde of hoastes.
