1. ലെബാനോനേ, നിന്റെ ദേവദാരുക്കള് തീക്കു ഇരയായ്തീരേണ്ടതിന്നു വാതില് തുറന്നുവെക്കുക.

1. Open thy doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour thy cedars.

2. ദേവദാരു വീണും മഹത്തുക്കള് നശിച്ചും ഇരിക്കയാല് സരളവൃക്ഷമേ, ഔളിയിടുക; ദുര്ഗ്ഗമവനം വീണിരിക്കയാല് ബാശാനിലെ കരുവേലങ്ങളേ, ഔളിയിടുവിന് !

2. Wail, O fir-tree, for the cedar is fallen, because the goodly ones are destroyed: wail, O ye oaks of Bashan, for the strong forest is come down.

3. ഇടയന്മാരുടെ മഹത്വം നശിച്ചിട്ടു അവര് മുറയിടുന്നതു കേട്ടുവോ? യോര്ദ്ദാന്റെ മുറ്റു കാടു നശിച്ചിട്ടു ബാലസിംഹങ്ങളുടെ ഗര്ജ്ജനം കേട്ടുവോ?

3. A voice of the wailing of the shepherds! for their glory is destroyed: a voice of the roaring of young lions! for the pride of the Jordan is laid waste.

4. എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഅറുപ്പാനുള്ള ആടുകളെ മേയ്ക്ക.

4. Thus said Jehovah my God: Feed the flock of slaughter;

5. അവയെ മേടിക്കുന്നവര് കുറ്റം എന്നു എണ്ണാതെ അവയെ അറുക്കുന്നു; അവയെ വിലക്കുന്നവരോഞാന് ധനവാനായ്തീര്ന്നതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവേക്കു സ്തോത്രം എന്നു പറയുന്നു; അവയുടെ ഇടയന്മാര് അവയെ ആദരിക്കുന്നില്ല.

5. whose possessors slay them, and hold themselves not guilty; and they that sell them say, Blessed be Jehovah, for I am rich; and their own shepherds pity them not.

6. ഞാന് ഇനി ദേശനിവാസികളെ ആദരിക്കയില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; ഞാന് മനുഷ്യരെ ഔരോരുത്തനെ അവനവന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരന്റെ കയ്യിലും അവനവന്റെ രാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യിലും ഏല്പിക്കും; അവന് ദേശത്തെ തകര്ത്തുകളയും; അവരുടെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു ഞാന് അവരെ രക്ഷിക്കയുമില്ല.

6. For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land, saith Jehovah; but, lo, I will deliver the men every one into his neighbor's hand, and into the hand of his king; and they shall smite the land, and out of their hand I will not deliver them.

7. അങ്ങനെ അറുപ്പാനുള്ള ആടുകളെ, കൂട്ടത്തില് അരിഷ്ടത ഏറിയവയെ തന്നേ, മേയിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള് ഞാന് രണ്ടു കോല് എടുത്തു ഒന്നിന്നു ഇമ്പം എന്നും മറ്റേതിന്നു ഒരുമ എന്നും പേരിട്ടു; അങ്ങനെ ഞാന് ആടുകളെ മേയിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

7. So I fed the flock of slaughter, verily the poor of the flock. And I took unto me two staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock.

8. എന്നാല് ഞാന് ഒരു മാസത്തില് മൂന്നു ഇടയന്മാരെ ഛേദിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; എനിക്കു അവരോടു വെറുപ്പു തോന്നി, അവര്ക്കും എന്നോടും നീരസം തോന്നിയിരുന്നു.

8. And I cut off the three shepherds in one month; for my soul was weary of them, and their soul also loathed me.

9. ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ മേയ്ക്കയില്ല; മരിക്കുന്നതു മരിക്കട്ടെ, കാണാതെപോകുന്നതു കാണാതൈ പോകട്ടെ; ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവ ഒന്നു ഒന്നിന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നുകളയട്ടെ എന്നു ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞു.

9. Then said I, I will not feed you: that which dieth, let it die; and that which is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let them that are left eat every one the flesh of another.

10. അനന്തരം ഞാന് ഇമ്പം എന്ന കോല് എടുത്തുഞാന് സകലജാതികളോടും ചെയ്തിരുന്ന എന്റെ നിയമത്തെ മുറിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അതിനെ മുറിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

10. And I took my staff Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the peoples.

11. അതു ആ ദിവസത്തില് തന്നേ മുറിഞ്ഞുപോയി; അങ്ങനെ, എന്നെ നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്ന കൂട്ടത്തില് അരിഷ്ടതയേറിയവ അതു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു എന്നു ഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

11. And it was broken in that day; and thus the poor of the flock that gave heed unto me knew that it was the word of Jehovah.

12. ഞാന് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള്ക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ടെങ്കില് എന്റെ കൂലി തരുവിന് ; ഇല്ലെന്നുവരികില് തരേണ്ടാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അങ്ങനെ അവര് എന്റെ കൂലിയായി മുപ്പതു വെള്ളിക്കാശു തൂക്കിത്തന്നു.

12. And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my hire; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my hire thirty [pieces] of silver.

13. എന്നാല് യഹോവ എന്നോടുഅതു ഭണ്ഡാരത്തില് ഇട്ടുകളക; അവര് എന്നെ മതിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന മനോഹരമായോരു വില തന്നേ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ ഞാന് ആ മുപ്പതു വെള്ളിക്കാശു വാങ്ങി യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലെ ഭണ്ഡാരത്തില് ഇട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു.
മത്തായി 27:9-10

13. And Jehovah said unto me, Cast it unto the potter, the goodly price that I was prized at by them. And I took the thirty [pieces] of silver, and cast them unto the potter, in the house of Jehovah.

14. അനന്തരം ഞാന് , യെഹൂദയും യിസ്രായേലും തമ്മിലുള്ള സഹോദരത്വം ഭിന്നിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഒരുമ എന്ന മറ്റെ കോല് മുറിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

14. Then I cut asunder mine other staff, even Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.

15. എന്നാല് യഹോവ എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതുനീ ഇനി ഒരു തുമ്പുകെട്ട ഇടയന്റെ കോപ്പു എടുത്തുകൊള്ക.

15. And Jehovah said unto me, Take unto thee yet again the instruments of a foolish shepherd.

16. ഞാന് ദേശത്തില് ഒരു ഇടയനെ എഴുന്നേല്പിക്കും; അവന് കാണാതെപോയവയെ നോക്കുകയോ ചിതറിപ്പോയവയെ അന്വേഷിക്കയോ മുറിവേറ്റവയെ പൊറുപ്പിക്കയോ ദീനമില്ലാത്തവയെ പോറ്റുകയോ ചെയ്യാതെ തടിച്ചവയുടെ മാംസം തിന്നുകയും കുളമ്പുകളെ കീറിക്കളകയും ചെയ്യും.

16. For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, who will not visit those that are cut off, neither will seek those that are scattered, nor heal that which is broken, nor feed that which is sound; but he will eat the flesh of the fat [sheep], and will tear their hoofs in pieces.

17. ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടത്തെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകളയുന്ന തുമ്പുകെട്ട ഇടയന്നു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം! അവന്റെ ഭുജത്തിന്നും വലങ്കണ്ണിന്നും വരള്ച! അവന്റെ ഭുജം അശേഷം വരണ്ടും വലങ്കണ്ണു അശേഷം ഇരുണ്ടും പോകട്ടെ.

17. Woe to the worthless shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.
