1. അനന്തരം യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ സര്വ്വസഭയും ഒന്നാം മാസം സീന് മരുഭൂമിയില് എത്തി, ജനം കാദേശില് പാര്ത്തു; അവിടെ വെച്ചു മിര്യ്യാം മരിച്ചു; അവിടെ അവളെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു.

1. And the sones of Israel and al the multitude camen in to the deseert of Syn, in the firste monethe. And the puple dwellide in Cades; and Marie was deed there, and biried in the same place.

2. ജനത്തിന്നു കുടിപ്പാന് വെള്ളം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല; അപ്പോള് അവര് മോശെക്കും അഹരോന്നും വിരോധമായി കൂട്ടം കൂടി.

2. And whanne the puple hadde nede to watir, thei yeden togidere ayens Moises and Aaron; and thei weren turned in to dissensioun,

3. ജനം മേശെയോടു കലഹിച്ചുഞങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാര് യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് മരിച്ചപ്പോള് ഞങ്ങളും മരിച്ചുപോയിരുന്നു എങ്കില് കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു.

3. and seiden, We wolden that we hadden perischid among oure britheren bifor the Lord.

4. ഞങ്ങളും ഞങ്ങളുടെ മൃഗങ്ങളും ഇവിടെ കിടന്നു ചാകേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങള് യഹോവയുടെ സഭയെ ഈ മരുഭൂമിയില് കൊണ്ടുവന്നതു എന്തു?

4. Whi han ye led out the chirche of the Lord in to wildirnesse, that bothe we and oure beestis die?

5. ഈ വല്ലാത്ത സ്ഥലത്തു ഞങ്ങളെ കൊണ്ടുവരുവാന് നിങ്ങള് മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചതു എന്തിന്നു? ഇവിടെ വിത്തും അത്തിപ്പഴവും മുന്തിരിപ്പഴവും മാതളപ്പഴവും ഇല്ല; കുടിപ്പാന് വെള്ളവുമില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

5. Whi han ye maad vs to stie from Egipt, and han brouyt vs in to this werste place, which may not be sowun, which nether bryngith forth fige tre, nether vineris, nether pumgranatis, ferthermore and hath not watir to drynke?

6. എന്നാറെ മോശെയും അഹരോനും സഭയുടെ മുമ്പില് നിന്നു സമാഗമന കൂടാരത്തിന്റെ വാതില്ക്കല് ചെന്നു കവിണ്ണുവീണു; യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സു അവര്ക്കും പ്രത്യക്ഷമായി.

6. And whanne the multitude was left, Moises and Aaron entriden in to the tabernacle of boond of pees, and felden lowe to erthe, and crieden to God, and seiden, Lord God, here the cry of this puple, and opene to hem thi tresour, a welle of quyk watir, that whanne thei ben fillid, the grutchyng of hem ceesse. And the glorie of the Lord apperide on hem;

7. യഹോവ മോശെയോടുനിന്റെ വടി എടുത്തു നീയും സഹോദരനായ അഹരോനും സഭയെ വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി അവര് കാണ്കെ പാറയോടു കല്പിക്ക.

7. and the Lord spak to Moises,

8. എന്നാല് അതു വെള്ളം തരും; പാറയില് നിന്നു അവര്ക്കും വെള്ളം പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു ജനത്തിന്നും അവരുടെ കന്നുകാലികള്ക്കും കുടിപ്പാന് കൊടുക്കേണം എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

8. and seide, Take the yerde, and gadere the puple, thou, and Aaron thi brother; and speke ye to the stoon bifore hem, and it schal yyue watris. And whanne thou hast led watir out of the stoon, al the multitude schal drynke, and the beestis therof `schulden drynke.

9. തന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ മോശെ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില്നിന്നു വടി എടുത്തു.

9. Therfor Moises took the yerde that was in the `siyt of the Lord, as the Lord comaundide to hym,

10. മോശെയും അഹരോനും പാറയുടെ അടുക്കല് സഭയെ വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി അവരോടുമത്സരികളേ, കേള്പ്പിന് ; ഈ പാറയില്നിന്നു ഞങ്ങള് നിങ്ങള്ക്കുവേണ്ടി വെള്ളം പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുമോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

10. whanne the multitude was gaderid bifor the stoon; and he seide to hem, Here ye, rebel and vnbileueful; whether we moun brynge out of this stoon watir to you?

11. മോശെ കൈ ഉയര്ത്തി വടികൊണ്ടു പാറയെ രണ്ടു പ്രാവശ്യം അടിച്ചു; വളരെ വെള്ളം പുറപ്പെട്ടു; ജനവും അവരുടെ കന്നുകാലികളും കുടിച്ചു.
1 കൊരിന്ത്യർ 10:4

11. And whanne Moises hadde reisid the hond, and hadde smyte the flynt twies with the yerde, largeste watris yeden out, so that the puple drank, and the beestis drunken.

12. പിന്നെ യഹോവ മോശെയോടും അഹരോനോടുംനിങ്ങള് യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് കാണ്കെ എന്നെ ശുദ്ധീകരിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം എന്നെ വിശ്വസിക്കാതിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങള് ഈ സഭയെ ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ദേശത്തേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകയില്ല എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

12. And the Lord seide to Moises and to Aaron, For ye bileueden not to me, that ye schulden halewe me bifor the sones of Israel, ye schulen not lede these puples in to the lond which Y schal yyue to hem.

13. ഇതു യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് യഹോവയോടു കലഹിച്ചതും അവര് അവരില് ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടതുമായ കലഹജലം.

13. This is the watir of ayenseiyng; there the sones of Israel stryueden ayens the Lord, and he was halewid in hem.

14. അനന്തരം മോശെ കാദേശില്നിന്നു എദോംരാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് ദൂതന്മാരെ അയച്ചു പറയിച്ചതുനിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ യിസ്രായേല് ഇപ്രകാരം പറയുന്നു

14. In the meene tyme Moises sente messangeres fro Cades to the kyng of Edom, whiche seiden, Israel thi brother sendith these thinges. Thou knowist al the trauel that took vs,

15. ഞങ്ങള്ക്കുണ്ടായ കഷ്ടതയൊക്കെയും നീ അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ; ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര് മിസ്രയീമില് പോയി ഏറിയ കാലം പാര്ത്തുമിസ്രയീമ്യര് ഞങ്ങളെയും ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെയും പീഡിപ്പിച്ചു.

15. hou oure fadris yeden doun in to Egipt, and we dwelliden there myche tyme, and Egipcians turmentiden vs and oure fadris; and hou we crieden to the Lord,

16. ഞങ്ങള് യഹോവയോടു നിലവിളിച്ചപ്പോള് അവന് ഞങ്ങളുടെ നിലവിളി കേട്ടു ഒരു ദൂതനെ അയച്ചു ഞങ്ങളെ മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു; ഞങ്ങള് നിന്റെ അതിരിങ്കലുള്ള പട്ടണമായ കാദേശില് എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

16. and he herde vs, and sente an aungel that ledde vs out of Egipt. And lo! we ben set in the citee of Cades, which is in thi laste coostis,

17. ഞങ്ങള് നിന്റെ ദേശത്തുകൂടി കടന്നുപോകുവാന് അനുവദിക്കേണമേ. ഞങ്ങള് വയലിലോ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തിലോ കയറുകയില്ല; കിണറ്റിലെവെള്ളം കുടിക്കയുമില്ല. ഞങ്ങള് രാജപാതയില്കൂടി തന്നേ നടക്കും;

17. and we bisechen that it be leueful to vs to passe thorou thi lond; we schulen not go bi feeldis, nether bi vyneris, nether we schulen drynke watris of thi pittis; but we schulen go in the comyn weie, and we schulen not bowe to the riyt side, nether to the left side, til we passen thi termes.

18. നിന്റെ അതിര് കഴിയുംവരെ ഇടത്തോട്ടോ വലത്തോട്ടോ തിരികയുമില്ല. എദോം അവനോടുനീ എന്റെ നാട്ടില്കൂടി കടക്കരുതുകടന്നാല് ഞാന് വാളുമായി നിന്റെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെടും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

18. To whom Edom answeride, Ye schulen not passe bi me, ellis Y schal be armed, and come ayens thee.

19. അതിന്നു യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് അവനോടുഞങ്ങള് പെരുവഴിയില്കൂടി പൊയ്ക്കൊള്ളാം; ഞാനും എന്റെ കന്നുകാലിയും നിന്റെ വെള്ളം കുടിച്ചുപോയാല് അതിന്റെ വിലതരാം; കാല്നടയായി കടന്നു പോകേണമെന്നല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നും എനിക്കു വേണ്ടാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

19. And the sones of Israel seiden, We schulen go bi the weie comynli vsid, and if we and oure beestis drynken thi watris, we schulen yyue that that is iust; noon hardnesse schal be in prijs, onely passe we swiftli.

20. അതിന്നു അവന് നീ കടന്നുപോകരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. എദോം ബഹുസൈന്യത്തോടും ബലമുള്ള കയ്യോടുംകൂടെ അവന്റെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെട്ടു.

20. And he answeride, Ye schulen not passe. And anoon he yede out ayens Israel, with a multitude without noumbre, and `strong hond,

21. ഇങ്ങനെ എദോം തന്റെ അതിരില്കൂടി കടന്നുപോകുവാന് യിസ്രായേലിനെ സമ്മതിച്ചില്ല. യിസ്രായേല് അവനെ വിട്ടു ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോയി.

21. nether he wolde assente to Israel bisechynge, that he schulde graunte passage bi hise coostis. Wherfor Israel turnede awey fro hym.

22. പിന്നെ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ സര്വ്വസഭയും കാദേശില്നിന്നു യാത്രപുറപ്പെട്ടു ഹോര് പര്വ്വതത്തില് എത്തി.

22. And whanne thei hadden moued tentis fro Cades, thei camen in to the hil of Hor, which is in the endis of the lond of Edom;

23. എദോംദേശത്തിന്റെ അതിരിങ്കലുള്ള ഹോര്പര്വ്വതത്തില്വെച്ചു യഹോവ മോശെയോടും അഹരോനോടും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു

23. where the Lord spak to Moyses and seide, Aaron go to his puples;

24. അഹരോന് തന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേരും; കലഹജലത്തിങ്കല് നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ കല്പന മറുത്തതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള്ക്കു കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ദേശത്തേക്കു അവന് കടക്കയില്ല.

24. for he schal not entre in to the lond which Y yaf to the sones of Israel, for he was vnbileueful to my mouth, at the watris of ayenseiyng.

25. അഹരോനെയും അവന്റെ മകനായ എലെയാസാരിനെയും കൂട്ടി അവരെ ഹോര്പര്വ്വതത്തില് കൊണ്ടു ചെന്നു

25. Take thou Aaron, and his sone with hym, and thou schalt lede hem in to the hil of Hor;

26. അഹരോന്റെ വസ്ത്രം ഊരി അവന്റെ മകനായ എലെയാസാരിനെ ധരിപ്പിക്കേണം; അഹരോന് അവിടെവെച്ചു മരിച്ചു തന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേരും.

26. and whanne thou hast maad nakid the fadir of his cloth, thou schalt clothe `with it Eleazar, his sone, and Aaron schal be gederid, and schal die there.

27. യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ മോശെ ചെയ്തു; സര്വ്വസഭയും കാണ്കെ അവര് ഹോര്പര്വ്വത്തില് കയറി.

27. Moises dide as the Lord comaundide; and thei stieden in to the hil of Hor, bifor al the multitude.

28. മോശെ അഹരോന്റെ വസ്ത്രം ഊരി അവന്റെ മകനായ എലെയാസാരിനെ ധരിപ്പിച്ചു; അഹരോന് അവിടെ പര്വ്വതത്തിന്റെ മുകളില്വെച്ചു മരിച്ചു; മോശെയും എലെയാസാരും പര്വ്വതത്തില്നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങി വന്നു. അഹരോന് മരിച്ചുപോയി എന്നു സഭയെല്ലാം അറിഞ്ഞപ്പോള് യിസ്രായേല് ഗൃഹം ഒക്കെയും അഹരോനെക്കുറിച്ചു മുപ്പതു ദിവസം വിലാപിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു

28. And whanne he hadde maad nakid Aaron of hise clothis, he clothide with tho Eleazar, his sone.
